They rescued my iPhone 4! Had great experience dealing with them on the phone and they only charged me the absolute minimum (shipping charges) since apparently just opening the phone and blowing the Burning Man dust out fixed everything.

Phone was sent and received in fully working order in 2 days. Very professional and highly recommended!

Needed battery replacement for iphone 3gs, initially quoted me $70 then when ?I called back the following day quoted $79.

Manager said he woukld do it for $70. but was real asshole about it.  Prices are about 2X others and not customer focused even in these times.  Recommend going elsewhere, plenty of others repairing smart phones and macs in Bay Area for better price

1 Touch in Pleasanton did it for $45 & w/out the extra $20 Techrestore wanted for walk-in service

Dropped off my 4 year old macbook for a hard drive upgrade one afternoon.  Received a call the next morning that my computer was ready for pickup, just as promised.  TR finished the job early and did it right. Everything was copied to the new drive perfectly (you wouldn't even notice the difference except for the extra space).  Finally I should note the price was much cheaper than some of the local shops, so it was well worth the 30 minute drive.

I wish all merchants were as reliable as TR.

Although TechRestore  has an okay process for intake and are reasonably friendly on the phone, they have suspicious pricing for their services.

I mailed off an IPOD touch. They claim to offer a "Overnight iPod Touch Free Diagnosis Service". (Of course, as a resonable person, I assume that any part and labor would cost extra.)

I got a call back from their staff who said "Oh, you just had a bit of lint in headphone jack, but we took it out. So we are going to charge you JUST the Standard Repair Service, which is $49.00"

In addition to my quibbles about $49.00 being an exorbitant fee for using their air compressor for 5 seconds, I feel a little rage build up inside me that they are not more upfront with the cost of what in my view is still diagnosis. I'd be willing to pay for the service that they provide, but I suspect it violates a few federal trade regulations.

My kid sat on his MacBook and cracked the screen. The Genius at The Apple Store wanted $800 to fix it, or rather, have me buy a new one for $999.

It didn't take this "Genius," me, to figure out there must be a better way...

TechRestore to the Rescue! Googled up "Mac Screen Repair" and "About 5,460,000 results (0.20 seconds" later, they were at the top of the list. Reading a bit more, they're in Concord, or is it Clayton!?!

Called up Linda who said TechRestore could replace the screen for $229 with free shipping (2-5 days snail mail each way) or if I bring it in, $250, same day, and done in about 1-1/2 hours.

I left Berkeley and was in "God's Country, Clayton and/or Concord, CA" in about a half hour.

It was kinda hard to find, even with GPS. TechRestore is in an industrial park, right behind Costco.  Know that in back of Costco is no help, because Costco is a really "big mother f'n of a store!" Remember, it's on the corner of a while building with an Oak Tree in front.

Dropped it off, went to lunch at Emil Villa's Original Hick'ry Pit in Walnut Creek (my good friend owns the store), got a really great car wash at Ebi Car Wash,  and just like they promised, it was all fixed and ready when I returned.

They sell refurbished Macs, even the dinosaurious, iBookG4! And of course, those pesky iPhone screens. Nice place, good service, great people.

Still, hard to find. It takes a Genius!

Tech Restore is awesome. I was on the prowl for a new computer and ended up saving a couple hundred bucks buying a refurbished mac book pro. The people that work there are great, they save me a bundle and I look forward to working with them in the future!

TechRestore is awesome. My iPhone 4 screen broke a week after I got it, so I ordered one of their replacement screens for $100 - cheapest I could find. My fumble hands couldn't get that right and I ended up fumbling that repair. So I called for advice and they were kind of enough to say "hey, its ok, send it to us and we'll fix it. Since you had problems we'll give you a discount and take care of it. " That's really cool. They totally get that not everyone is a repair genius. But that's not the best part. They received the phone at 4pm on a Wednesday, repaired it, and shipped it TWO HOURS LATER! Holy Cow that's impressive!!!!! The Apple Store told me it'd take a week to ship to Apple, repair, and ship back, but these guys did it in 2 HOURS!

After a certain *someone* stepped on my laptop and broke the screen, I was broke, computerless, and afraid I'd have to buy a whole new machine. The Apple Store told me it would be $800 to fix. A family friend told me about TechRestore, and it was one of the best customer-service experiences of my tech life. You place your repair order online and print out a shipping label. Box up the computer, ship to them them, they fix it and overnight it back the same day. For $200 I had my beloved MacBook back in my grimy little paws in 3 days. And that's because I cheaped out and sent it 2nd day air. My husband warned me that in past when he's sent machines off for repair (at other vendors), even if the problem was not hard-drive related (screen repair, new keyboard, etc.), they've come back with their memory wiped, or other issues. So I fired it up with trembling hand but, nope, it's all good. Thank you TechRestore!
