I may have found my new favorite Chinatown bubble tea joint!!  Hello, Teado!!

I decided to venture off of my usual black milk tea with tapioca and decided to order something that caught my eye - rose green milk tea.  I love rose flavor and I love green tea.  And they use actual milk (lactose free Lactaid, thank you!) instead of the nasty cream powder or super fattening creamer.  Makes me feel slightly better about drinking it.

What I loved about this place was that the drink wasn't too sweet.  You had plenty of flavor (whatever you choose), but it wasn't gonna give you diabetes.  I also loved that you could TASTE the real tea in it.  Some places, all you really taste is sugar, cream, and flavor.  But, you can taste the tea here!  Nom.  The tapioca is a decent chewy texture but they are a bit small compared to other places.

There is really little to no seating in this place - maybe for about 3-4 people if you wan't to squeeze.

I've gotten used to bubble tea in the city in that I literally just down it nowadays, but this one, I actually enjoyed.  I'll be back for sure!

Another cold winter day, and I'm still craving for bubble tea..
I was going to Kung fu tea around the corner, but it was full of people so I think, well, best time to try tris place which by the way is empty.

The place is small, with black and white decor, 2 seats available. They have a lot of selections of bubble tea, and also  onigiri, which I surprised to see in a bubble tea store

Anyway,I order my favorite, honey green tea with bubble. First thing, they put my tea in the shaker machine! I never seen honey green tea was put in shaker before (milk tea of course, but not with honey)
I didnt see any difference in taste, but when I looked the tea was filled with a lot of bubbles, I mean "air bubbles", not "tapioca bubble", you know what I mean rite?

Tea was ok, not too sweet, but I really dont like their tapioca bubble, they're so small, not chewy and flavorless...

Price 3.25, I won't come back for their bubble tea, maybe will for the onigiri.

Cutely decorated shops with wall stickers and baby Christmas tree in the corner. Unfortunately that is all the positive aspects of Teado.

Took the guy over 15 minutes to make 2 drinks with an empty store. Maybe he took a dump somewhere in-between. After the ridiculously long wait, the tea wasn't even worthwhile. My cousin ordered a rose tea which was just tea + rose syrup. Too sweet.   So gross.

I can only hope he washed his hands while taking a dump.

Ordered a sesame milk tea with bubbles and it was the perfect amount of nutty-nes, sweetnes and flavor. They told me the sesame powder was sweet on its own and even gave me a taste of it if i was content with the sugar. it was perfect.
It was pricey at 3.25 but for the size (16oz) it was worth it.

Japanese matcha tea has a bitter aftertaste. The milk teas are not sweet at all. However their appearance was cute and the service was good.

I honestly dont know why this place has any 1 or 2 star reviews. I thought it was great! Its a quaint little joint located near the intersection of chrystie and hester streets. The decor is nice without being over the top. A friend and I chanced upon this place while wandering through Chinatown. They had $2 specials of the jasmine green tea with boba which was pretty good! My friend has a bit of a sweet tooth and wanted the drink sweeter so the guy behind the counter was nice enough to remix his drink for him. The one downside to the place is that there is seating for only about 4 people at the most, and not a lot of standing room either. But apart from that this place is worth a visit.

During my trek through Chinatown, my bf and I found ourselves thirsty and parched. Since we were in Chinatown I ventured into the closest milk tea place and lo and behold Teado.

We walked into their nicely air conditioned shop. Milk tea no pearls though! Would have had to wait 30 mins, but we didn't care. We needed liquid refreshment not nourishment! Many flavors to choose from, but I got the basic green milk tea. Good tea flavor, not overly sweet.

Small counter barely room for seating. Overall, satisfied my thirst in my time of need!

Despite being a bit pricier than some other options in the area, I avoided them to go back to Teado. Their Matcha tea with bubbles is one of the best versions of the drink I've had.

When I have bubble tea, an important aspect is the tea. I actually want a tea drink to taste like... Tea. What a crazy concept. A lot of these teas have much sweetener, milk, or just a poor or weak tea. This had a good bitter tea bite to it.

I really suggest paying the slight premium ($3.25 for a small).

They use very natural teas, and brew it meticulously for your enjoyment. The girl who works here is lovely and would not try to rip you off. If you order hot tea, she will brew it for you and give you the tea leaves so you can brew it again when you get home. Her teas aren't crazy syrup heavy which has made me a fan. Very crisp and refreshing flavors.

Don't really bother with the menu though, they can make any drink you request as long as they physically have the leaves and syrup.

2 drinks for $5.50. You can't beat that. I went in with a friend and we got 2 slushes. I was expecting to pay about $7, but was surprised about the special. Yesterday was a bit hot and humid in the city and the drinks hit the spot real good. I got the Green Apple Slush with Litchi Jelly. I'm not a fan of the bubble.

I wish there was more seating cause if you are there with more than 3 people the rest have to stand up or hangout outside. I love the vinyl toys they have on display. The space is a bit cramped, but it's designed very well. It's away from Canal St so there is less foot traffic and it's more chill. This is one of my new favorite spots!

I think this place loves video games more than I do!  My favorite was the Boo cloud piggy bank on the green pipe.  Cute little figurines and toys were all over the store.  +1 For fun decor!  I turned to ask my friend what she wanted then turned back to the guy (( Boo was closer! )).

You guys have two bubble teas for $5.50 right?  We we just strolling around Noho/Nolita/Chinatown /Les when we found this sign.  My friend said she had been craving bubble tea ALL day so despite having been just happy houring and drinking beers and in search of a restroom, we obliged duck in briefly to try Teado.

    TEAdo or not TEAdo...

Don't mind if I DO.... we kept yelling out loud. I glanced over at the counter, Boo was an inch nearer to me than last time.. Hmm.  What do we want.. "Taro bubble tea please!" my friend blurted quickly, bubbles yes! She was hopping from foot to foot.  I glanced at the crazy long list of choices, then over at Boo who was still gaining on me.

[Happy hours and reading loooong 10 pt. font lists don't jive I thought]

"Passionfruit Iced, Please!"  It was decided.
"With what kind of bubbles & Black or Green Tea?" He countered.

"Your choice!" I said as I was enthralled to watch the spectacle that was my friends drink in a motorized electric martini shaker.  With a long faux strand of Spiderman webbing shooting off it onto the ceiling above me.

The machine was shaking far harder than a polaroid picture... and took quite a few mins to prepare. All the while I was staring at Boo who was motionless, as was my friend was still bathroom-less and dancing.

5 dollar bill on the ledge and two quarters.  I should have fed them to Boo but there was no time.  We grabbed our drinks and hit the streets.

My passionfruit ice was SUPER crazy sweet and a tad bit watered down in super fruity flavor.  I didn't like that part but it did taste ok exude a lovely passion-fruity fragrance.  The regular black tapioca bubbles were well prepared the time we visited.  Not at all the best Bubble tea place but a great novice intro to Bubble Tea place for white people and those who are just testing the waters perhaps..  I was impressed by the wide array of fruity and other flavors. Leagues beyond normal bubble tea store options.  When I am having a quirky flavor craving I would come here again, I mean its s $2.75 entertaining drink!

A nice place to try something new and eclectic while you walk around and explore.  Don't make this place a destination, let it come to you. Like Boo.  Ok that doesn't make too much sense, if you are nearby stroll through otherwise, don't bother.

I'm not typically a big fan of bubble/milk teas, but I think Teado has some of the best tea drinks in the city.  Stopped by on Saturday to ward off the cold with a hot almond milk tea.  Most places tend to make their flavored teas cloyingly sweet, or with too much extract/powder that it tastes artificial.  Teado served it up piping hot, with just enough almond powder that it didn't overpower the tea.

The best part - their drinks are all made with Lactaid.  That's great news for Asian-Americans who love milk products but don't care for the, uh...after-effects.

Lactose intolerant people like myself can enjoy bubble teas from this place because they use Lactaid milk for all of their drinks! It is very rare to find places that are sensitive to the needs of lactose intolerant customers so I was very excited to find this unique shop.

All drinks are $3.25 and a second drink is 30% off. If you show student ID, you can get an additional 15% off. I had a taro milk bubble tea for $2.75 (student discount) and it was delicious. Whether you're lactose intolerant or not, you will like their drinks.

Tiny little space with 3 small table and 3 chairs. Decorated with cute Asian toy knickknacks and whimsical wall decals.

The tea is great, the jasmine green tea tastes like what it's supposed to be, subtle, lite, fragrant.

The staff are consistently nice, I had asked for the bubble tea to be half sweetened and they gave me a sample to see if it was sweet enough. Nice!
While there, I heard them spoke English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

The store also feature a selection of magazines in English and Chinese while you wait for your drink/food. The amount of time it takes for Teado to prepare your tea is longer than the average Quickly. This is a GOOD thing because they brew your tea from scratch rather than using a mix. The real thing takes a bit longer, I'll gladly wait a few minutes more for the good stuff!

The special on one of the days I visited was this delicious thick cut toast sweetened with condensed milk and fruit of your choice. Makes me miss Asia and their crazy desserts (seems like there's a new fad each year).

oh man.  maybe i'm spoiled because i'm from la & lived in taiwan for a year, but this place looked promising with their chinese menu & location in chinatown.  AND i came early so i had to wait for the boba (or "bubble tea" as you east coasters refer to it...) to finish, so i thought it would be amazing.  it wasn't good, i was disappointed.  just another drink place.  NOTHING SPECIAL.  i don't have a problem with the place, just wondering why there are such great reviews on this place.

I wanted to like this place. Honest. I did.

My first impression was that it was a cute bubble tea shop, albeit small with lots of toys and quirky decorations all around. I liked it a lot.

But the reason my review for this place is a mere two stars does not have anything to do with the environment of Teado. No, no. It has to do with the bubble tea. I ordered a milk green tea with tapioca and while the tea itself was very fragrant and enjoyable, my tapioca was... GOOPY. Now, that is one word I do NOT want associated with my bubble tea. The tapioca pearls were basically a black blob of starch sitting on the bottom of my cup. The tapioca blob took the whole drink and made it bad. Not okay.

Maybe it was an off day for them, but I don't think I'll be going to Teado anytime soon.

So, working in the Chinatown area, i have been exposed to so many Bubble tea spots that they all started looking the same.
The tapioca pearls were starting to get boring that milk teas were starting to feel too heavy. Put them together and i feel bloated and sleepy.
I just cant do tea and bubbles either...
until Ron C. introduced me to this place.
It was a hot day. In need of cooling off I opted for the passion fruit slush with mixed jelly.
Its dangerously close to my train on the way home... and 2 drinks will cost you $5.50.
The slush was refreshing. Tasty. Cheap. and the jellies were lovely, testurally pleasing additions to an already awesome drink.
It is small in here and is probably more appropriate as a to go place but if you got a tiny booty- which, i do not (::raises the roof::) you can sit  and enjoy your drink. But if you got some junk in your trunk, best best is to park it in a nearby park or walk around with your drink.

Awesome little place on a side street. Decor is very cute/cool Japanese style along with the hip music. But don't expect to sit inside since there're only 3 chairs.

They have much more than just bubble tea, like yogurt milk, slushies, and sandwichs made to order. Every drink on the menu can be hot or cold, 1/$3.25 or 2/$5.50 and you get a card to put stamps on each time you visit. The drink was not powdery or overly sweet, definitely one of the best in town.

One of the best places to get boba/bubble tea in Chinatown! I daresay that the quality and taste is comparable to Ten Ren's, but the price difference is pretty crazy: they only have one size that costs $3.25. If you have a student ID, there's a $0.50 discount, and if you buy two cups it's two for $5.50.

I got the Bubble Green Milk Tea/Jasmine Milk Tea, as usual. Theirs is definitely more on the tea-y side, if that makes sense. Like... it doesn't taste like high fructose corn syrup, basically. You can actually taste the tea. At the same time, it's not like Saint's Alp, which I would describe as milky/frothy-tasting............ yeah.

Came here with Michelle H and I agree with her 100%!  Two bubble teas for $5.50 is a great deal (includes tea, milk tea, slushies, and one item: bubbles, lychee jelly, and a few other options I don't recall).  I had the grapefruit green tea with lychee.  The tea was strong and tasted pretty high quality, and they didn't skimp on the grapefruit flavor.

The workers are very nice; they let Michelle try her tea to test the sweetness, and they gave us samples of the bubbles (which were perfect QQ'yness, btw).

We asked if the ingredients are fresh, and they gave us an honest answer: "No, we use powder and syrup."  Oh, I miss Sweeteheart Cafe...  There's also very little seating, and while it wasn't crowded for the 10 minutes we hovered outside to read Yelp reviews, it was jam-packed with customers for at least 30 minutes after we sat down.

Finally a good bubble tea place that isn't completely overpriced.  The buy one get the second one 30% off is a great deal. $5.50 for two drinks. This includes the bubble, jelly, or whatever you want. Also this is good on all their drinks, including slushies.  The people here are also really nice.  I asked for my green milk tea less sweet and they gave me sample to make sure it was to my liking.  In addition we asked for a sample of the bubbles (tapioca balls) and they gladly let us sample them.  Perfect chewiness.

Only downside is there isn't much seating.  I think a total of four people can sit comfortably.

    I'm definitely coming back!

I discovered Teado today while in the area and decided to stop in because their interior was so cute. It's a tiny place with just the kitchen/counter space and two small tables. They decorated in a eclectic, cutesy Asian way~ Mario figurines, a big red Munny, and black bubbles painted on the walls.

I got the standard milk black tea with tapioca ($3.25). The tea was better than I expected, a little on the light side but the tea was well brewed. Also, the tapioca was just the right amount of chewiness. Though it's not amazing pearl milk tea, I'm glad I came across Teado because so far I prefer it to the Quickly a block away. They also have 15% off for students and buy one get the second 30% off, neither of which applied to me today, but good to know.

I was hesitant to go in at first.  When I see a modern-looking business in Chinatown, my first assumption is usually that I would be paying for the decor, and not necessarily quality of service or product.  But alas, I was tempted enough to go in and buy a drink.

The inside of this little bubble tea place is nicely decorated.  It's young and trendy.  There's an iPod mounted on an iPod speaker playing Jay Chou songs.  The staff is young and they wore cool-looking hats.

Their menu consists of some of your usual fare for bubble tea places, and also some unique juice blends that you may or may not find in other bubble tea cafes.  I had the Red Plum, Litch and Honey Juice with Aloe Vera, which I can honestly say I've never seen on any other menu.  It was really very tasty, and for that, and the originality of their drinks, I'm giving them four stars!

While a nicely decorated location with funny little toys and a friendly staff, the bubble tea here tastes a bit light. It came out several shades lighter than expected - too much milk substitute, I suppose - and tasted a bit off, almost like there was either almond or rose water thrown in my black milk tea.

Buy one get the second 30% off. And a student discount available. I think one night is also buy one, get one free.

Ah, well. Will try something else there another time. The exotic juices might be better?

    The Bad
    - Cashier had an attitude
    - Small area
    - Don't have the buy 5 get 1 free

    The Good
    - Wide selection of drinks including tea and the regular ones
    - Price is okay ($5.50 for 2)
    - Student discount
    - Area looks very cool

The Bottomline- Check it out if you are craving for some tea with tapicoa or jelly in it. For the fruity drinks that is on Ten Ren's menu, just go there instead of here.

I usually get my bubble tea fix at Vivi, but there's a new kid on the block and gosh darn it - it looked cute. (Forgive me Vivi for being unfaithful.)

Teado is modern, clean, and classy looking. Its a tiny place with maybe 5 seats, but I've never seen it full. Unlike Vivi, the high school friends of the staff aren't taking up space and chattering away. Its a therapeutic and mature touch. Much appreciated. You might THINK you'll pay more for the pretty decor, but in my opinion, you're paying an extra quarter for better tea! My tea was less powdered flavor, and more authentic, fragrant, and refined black tea.

I've only gone once, and I ordered my staple warm almond black milk tea, but they do have a extensive menu with some really great options. I'll be back again for sure :)

$3.25 for a bbtea that didn't exactly knock my socks off. I ordered the (ughh names..) mango, lychee, grapefruit, with white grape chunks (I had first thought it was jelly, but it was in fact fruit). It was number 71 on the menu. It wasn't very sweet which I liked, but I wasn't a big fan of the fruit chunks. They use this machine that shakes up the slush which I thought was pretty cool. My friend's Japanese Matcha Slush came out a bit too diluted for my taste. I like my slush thicker with more flavoring.

This place is fairly new but not to new. It opened late 2009 and so far I love this plae. I love that you can have any drink on the menu hot or cold unlike Quickly where it's a bit limited. My absolute favorite at the moment is Japanese Matcha Green Tea with Milk. I also love the atmosphere and toys they have there.

I have more info/review on Teado on my blog at http://greenmilktea.wo....

We ordered about 10 diff drinks and everyone liked theirs.  I got the almond milk tea with bubbles...great almond flavor (though I think Cafe Orlin makes a much better almond milk tea).  The best drink was this red bean drink that was like a smoothie....so juicy and ice creamy tasting.

I like the fact that they use fresh milk instead of the creamers...and they make it to your liking.  if you ask for less sugar they will shake it up and then offer you a taste to make sure you are happy with it before they serve to you.  The tea flavors also come though, it may be lighter that what many people are used to but who needs all the extra sugar and powder.  the tapioca is also the right consistency every time i have had it.

The name itself had me at bye bye, but for its Grand Opening special of Bubble tea for $1.50, how could I refuse? Watered down Taro Bubble Tea and nonchalant service = huge fail. I should stick with my gut next time. Back to the name. The name Teado is kind of ironic, much like a cheap whore putting on makeup.

The Oolong Milk Tea here is great!! Their tea in general is good, not soaked in for hours like other places.

wow im starting to love tea now!! another great place. 93 diff types!! crazy! so i ordered the japanese matcha slush. great! the cool part about this place is that its the same price for every drink! so much to choose from! i just read another review that said they have buy 5 get 1 free cards. wow. didnt know that. well now that i do, i'll be going there more often. i might even shift this this to be my favorite tea place. it has so many flavors and the tapioca is good too. its not as chewy as ten ren but its def better than quickly. must try! i also tried the litchi, grape fruit and honey juice with aloe vera. wow sounds great right? yepo. i prefer slushes though.
