in a word (or four): bomb ass shoe store.
the shoes here are cheaper than manolos, choos, louboutins, etc. and are EXTREMELY unique to boot. most of the pumps and stuff are in the $300 range. they make a limited number of each shoe (each pair is numbered on the sole, which is cool) and made by a relatively unknown designer. the styles are avant-garde - very different from anything else youve seen.
if you are a shoe lover, this place is a must-visit -

What is not to like about Te Casan?? There are so many fun and creative shoe designs at reasonable prices. I found more than a few cute everyday bags. There were a few on sale when we were there, and the sales person (who was very nice) offered an additional 30 percent off if we both bought bags.
The store is huge and the shoes are presented very well. The variety is wonderful. There were shoes that I absolutely loved, ones that were funny and others that were completely hideous but interesting.
The ostrich skin bags are so soft, they will melt in your hands. -

The shoes here are stunning - beautiful classic designs with fun, modern twists (classic pumps with a pouf of chiffon at the toebox, or hi-top sneakers, but in suede).
Even more beautiful than the products is the store itself. I was consistently distracted from the shoes and handbags by the amazingly staged store. From the uber-cool furniture to the sweeping staircase to the fantaisie lighting, it's a magnificent space!
I spent less than 10 minutes here, and haven't bought any of their shoes, but the service was delightfully unobtrusive and the store such a pleasure to be in, that I would definitely keep it in mind the next time I am in the market for a pair of higher end shoes!
4.5 stars, potential for 5 upon actually experiencing them! :PListed in: Looking good.

Imagine the excitement and nervousness you felt on your first date. That is how I felt on Thursday before I entered Te Casan. I woke up that morning feeling like it was going to be a good day, the way Claire Daines felt the day she woke up, realized that she was SO over Jordan Catalano and jumped on her bed in complete and utter joy.
Feeling groovy from head to toe, I decided to take a break from the office at 2 o'clock on Thursday. There was too much negative energy floating around my workspace, so I took a walk. There has been a Te Casan gift card burning a hole in my Coach Clutch since the sneak preview screening of "Sex and the City"**
I have walked past Te Casan several times, and had a Pavlonian drool response every time, but Te Casan is not somewhere you visit when you are feeling less than fabulous. Feeling quite more than fantastic that particular day, I pounded through the door and took a long, deep inhale-I LOVE the smell of new shoes.
I spotted the sale rack and found everything to be picked over. Then I saw them.....shiny, red, perfect. Amazing. And VEGAN! Natalie Portman summed up my entire personality in one pair of shoes. Although it is far more than I usually spend on shoes, I will wear them with excitement and pride every time. The man helping me gave me a big thumbs up and we had a good giggle about the trouble I'm going to cause in these shoes.
Never again will I search through the mounds of shoes on sale at Macys. Do yourself and your feet a favor-buy beautiful shoes. You're worth it.
**Jilly Bean, don't hate me-I saw SATC on Wednesday before it was released. I got free tickets for organizing a benefit. I didn't tell you bc I didn't want you to be mad. I loooooveeee youuuuuuu!!!Listed in: Cute as a button, Preservin' mah sexay!

If you're a shoe girl, there's nothing better.
I can proudly say that I own 3 pairs of beautiful shoes from this place - and I garner many compliments when I wear them. I love that they're all limited edition. It's embarrassing to spend good money on shoes only to go somewhere and find someone wearing the same damn ones. Plus, it's really not expensive, considering what you're getting, and what you'd be paying in a luxury designer boutique.
It's true, the staff is amazingly accommodating and friendly. I've sat for hours trying on shoes with friends (one in particular, actually), drinking tea. This same friend claims to visit NYC (she lives in CA) for friends, but for some reason I end up here with her, every time.
Heck, even my mother liked it, and she doesn't like anything. Well, she didn't like that earlier lines don't carry half sizes, but newer lines do (Natalie Portman's, launched in February, does).Listed in: The Mom List - NYC

Have you ever seen the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory?! That's what I felt like when I walked into this shoe fairyland. I thought I died to went to shoes heaven!! It was so beautiful, not just the shoes, but the whole 3-story store with spiral staircase. You get your own gabebo with tea served when you try on shoes!
The coolest thing about the shoes is that they're all limited edition. On the sole of each pair, there's a number imprinted stating how many pairs were made in that particular style in that particular color (including all sizes)!!! So if you want to get a unique pair that almost nobody has, this is it. In terms of price, you can actually find some styles discounted to under $200. It's really quite a bargain for what you get. -

When I walked into Te Casan I thought I'd died and gone to heaven!! This place is awesome. They showcase a handful of designers - the designers only make a limited amount of each shoe. I bought an amazing pair of black platforms for less than $500 and they look like Christian Louboutin, but even better.
Te Casan is in Soho, so if you're in the area this place is a must see. Their website doesn't currently have ecommerce, but the sales guy assured me that it would be available early this year. I'm looking forward to it! -

I love Te Casan, and I love BOBBAYYYYY! Bobbayyyyy! is the bestest sales representative on both the East and West coasts!
So, I was just strolling along the streets of SOHO on a Monday afternoon, killing time before my flight back to Cali... and in the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of what seemed like a dream. I had no energy left to waste on the mechanics of turning my body around and walking back. So, instead, I opted to moonwalk my ass back to that notorious window of dreams.
I speed dialed the posse from around the way, and we spent our last hours running up and down the 3 levels of shoe heaven like shoe-derived monkeys on crack. Somehow I was instantly revitalized and rejuvenated. It was a shoe orgy, and I liked it- we all did.
Bobbbayyy! finally slapped me out of my stupor w/a pair of flat calf-skin riding boots, bronze and cream linen ankle boots, and butterfly-lazored stilettos. The staff even served us exotic flavored iced-teas to ease the post-shrill-parch.
If I lived in NY, I would just have my paychecks directly deposited to te casan. It's a shoe whores dream. I'm just sayin! -

This store in Soho has shoes from many up and coming designers. The shoes were with the current trends but just unique enough to make it funky.
This is one of the best shoe stores i've been to. The staff was uber nice and but not too pushy as we made our way through 3 floors of shoes. The shoes weren't cheap but nor were the Manolos. I headed straight for the 50% off rack where i got the cutest pairs of red mary janes. The clerk worked very hard to get me into those shoes. He brought me pads and everything to make sure I had a proper fit.
The store also has a tea bar downstairs but I'm not sure what that was about. The only other thing was the "Faye" bags break. Each designer has it's on bag but hers in particular break. -

I went into Te Casan the day it opened, and purchased a fabulous pair of black pumps by Manuela Filipovic. They were $245, so somewhere in between Nine West and Blahnik.
The store has an unusual philosophy. It features the work of 7 young shoe designers, and each designer has his/her own sensibilities. Filipovic, for instance, offers shoes with an art deco feel. Hector Rubio, the youngest of the designers, offers sporty trainers in a variety of styles and colors. Niki Robinson uses recycled and vintage materials. I purchased a pair of Robinson's orange suede pumps, and was delighted to learn that the suede had been recycled by Oxfam.
Te Casan has a wide assortment of women's shoes. The styles are not "cookie-cutter" and run a fine line between classic and eccentric. The shoes also come in really great shoeboxes which are cleverly designed to be collapsible for easy storage.
If you like shoes, but don't want to spend $500 on a pair of pumps, it's worth the trek to SoHo to check out Te Casan. -

I walked in prepared to purchase one pair of shoes, but left with three (the special sale they were having -- buy three pairs and receive 20% off -- helped a bunch).
It's hard to find vegan shoes that don't fall apart and don't look clunky and gross. That is why I was so excited to hear that Natalie Portman was designing an upscale vegan line for Te Casan.
The store only carries seven designers, one of whom right now is Portman. The store is really beautiful -- each designer has its own little home and the space bright and airy.
The salesperson who helped me, Shannon, was super nice, not pushy and very accommodating.
The only downside to my experience is that the bag I was carrying had one of its handles break. I rigged it all MacGyver-style, but it was kind of annoying nonetheless.
I hope that Te Casan continues to have upscale vegan shoes and sandals available. As long as they do, I'll be a customer. -

SHOE HEAVEN.
I love this place and if financially possible would only buy my shoes here.
I've gone so much I'm friends with some of the salespeople, who are super friendly. I end up spending 2 hours in here trying everything on, drinking tea/champagne, talking and ultimately spending too much $$$.
I heart Te Casan. -

An ode to shoes, to say the least. Te Casan is a beautiful high end shoe boutique located in Soho. I have had the privilege of visiting this store on a number of occasions or events (including my own which will be held their tonight-- yeah yeah, shameless plug). They take you into a shoe heaven where boots, pumps and slides are your angels. They range in price from affordable to ridiculously expensive-- there is definitely something for everyone.

If you can't justify Christian Louboutin or Jimmy Choo, try Te Casan. Beautiful layout, original designs and best of all, Natalie Portman's line of vegan shoes.

What can I say I'm a sucker for beautiful shoes, but more so for a beautiful boutique that supports and caters to shoes done well. This boutique is like maze, and I mean that in a good way, each floor you go to is like discovering some work of art, and not something to be worn.
The shoes are ever-changing, the price-points are perfect, and there is enough diversity to keep even the most scrutinizing shoe lover happy.
Go, visit, and indulge.Listed in: Born to Shop

This store is a temple to shoes, a temple to retail store design, and just a gorgeous place to shop. Just being in there is a treat! The tea bar downstairs is a nice plus also. The thing is, the shoes are so well crafted and uniquely styled that they don't need all the bells and whistles to sell themselves. They are priced just right - enough for the store to turn a good profit and market itself as a serious designer place (hey the Soho rents and that interior design job aren't cheap), very high quality, but not the obscene prices of Louboutin.

Day 4 in NY and I'm ready for Soho. My objective is shoes and their friends boots. The weather was crappy, humid and rainy... I flag a cab. I say "take me to Soho, I need to shop" and he's off like a shot. Within 10 minutes my heart is a twitter and I'm standing on West Broadway. The first store I see is Te Casan and it's a beaut... I was glad I wore my new jeans and cute shoes for this excursion. As I walked up the stairs I thought "now this is what I'm talking about." I was greeted by a young man who seemed put out as he asked if he could help me. I said I would like to look around and he left me alone for 60 seconds! When he approached me again I said I was interested in a gorgeous pair of boots but I thought that the heel might be too high for me but I wanted to try them on anyway. He brought out my size and they fit, but, were very uncomfortable, I felt as though I was walking on stilts. I told him for $345 the shoes pretty much have to be wearable. He said "really, well, Halle Berry bought a pair when she was nine months pregnant." I said "Halle Berry is a size 4" he said "no she's not". I said "her dress size not shoe size" and like I GAF who bought a pair, like name dropping is supposed to make me buy them? The two stars are for the beautiful store and shoes... the lack of more is because I left empty handed and irritated with the sales-schmuck.
