So I decided to check this italian place out as I had some time to kill between appointments. Located in a small neighborhood mall in south Oakville, I seemed a little out of place. Wasn't too busy on a Wednesday night so seating was easy. Decor was what I call modern hipster. Nice tables with wine glasses and table cloths But lots of wood and had speakeasy feel about it.

      So on to the food.

Menu was good. Had lots of of your typical Italian dishes. Some interesting appetizer chooses but we settled on the Italian tuna tartare. It was served and presented very nicely with cucumber and aioli sauce. The taste was good. But not exceptional. The portion was a little small for the price charge but all in all a good dish.

For the mains we ordered the linguine pescatore and the linguine with meatballs. This is my test for Italian restaurants- The Pasta has to be good. Again the presentation cam out very nice, Good size portions..But here is where the problem started. The pasta was too soft as in overcooked.

Maybe I should have asked for al dente. Second, the Seafood in the Pescatore- To me, it tasted like it was store bought mix frozen seafood that they just added into the Linguine. The shrimp was defiantly pre- cooked and they were the small de-viened kind you buy in bulk at the super market. For the price, you would expect to get fresh seafood. The mussels we ok but again, not a fresh as I would like.

Linguine with meat balls were ok as well, The meat balls were a good size but I think they had too much filler..Not meaty but light Maybe too much bread crumbs?

Over all it was an ok experience. The decor and service was great but the food was only ok.
The flavors were a little bland for my taste.
For the price I would have expected them to be better in food quality but maybe their customers never complained?

Will try again. Maybe they just had an off night.

Drove in all the way from Toronto to find DEAD FLIES pouring out of the olive oil bottle onto my plate. As I lifted the bottle into the light, there was so many dead flies inside, you couldn't even count them.

Showed the tall bartender and he was quite embarrassed and apologetic as we were sitting at the bar.

Halfway through our dinner the manager, Michael began to grab all the bottles of olive oil from the tables and instead of collecting and disposing of the contaminated olive oil, he used a strainer to sift the flies out and then put the same olive oil back onto the tables.

This is beyond revolting. To top it all off, the manager, Michael did not once come over to apologize or to even say something about this disgusting incident. This kind of behaviour shows that he absolutely does not care about his job and the well being of its clients and clearly does not care wether or not he ever gets repeat clientele.

Mission accomplished, we will never be back.

Great Monday two for one pizza deals. Their pizza is fantastic well made and tasty.
Wine is affordable and good. Dinners are splendid. We have never been disappointed. Their Tiramisu is the best in Halton. Coffee is great full bodied.

I was very impressed with Tavolo. I went there on Saturday with a large group. The waitress Sarah was very attentive and personable. She had us laughing and managed our table very well. The food was very good, although I found my pizza a little too authentic, I think. It was a bit too dry for me. But everything else was really good and everyone loved their meals. If I were to give them any feedback I would say "lighting is everything" and while their decor and lighting is on fleek in the two dining rooms, the bathrooms are a carnival funhouse of scaryness. The lighting made the mirrors unusable. All in all a lovely evening was had by all and I will go there again again.

We have chosen Tavolo for a family event.
If you are looking for a decent, upscale Italian restaurant, look somewhere else.
The only good note was the service - it was excellent - the two associates that helped us were very professional and patient.
The food was average tasting wise and overpriced. The veal marsala was a mix of unseasoned and weird tasting sauce. The branzino was mostly skin - the commestibile part was MIA.
The bad was dealing with management (Jennifer R.) who with her inflexibility, arrogance and poor customer service made the whole experience stressful and unpleasant.

I came in tonight and the food was awful!! The only good thing about this restaurant is the staff and the design. The food tonight was undercooked and made me sick! I honestly feel like calling the health department

      Please spend your money elsewhere!!!!

If I could give this restaurant a negative star rating I would. Never have My husband and I been treated like we do not even exist at an establishment that makes revenue off of customer satisfaction.
My husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch on one of the final few days of Taste of Oakville 2019. Being new to Oakville, we thought it would be a great opportunity to try some of the restaurants in the area.
We walked in and there were two sets of two dining there, a group of four women and a group of four who were putting on their jackets to leave. So definitely not busy given than there was one host working, and two servers (that we could see, maybe more).
We were seated by a sweet middle-aged woman and she let us know that our server would be with us shortly. I told
Her with a smile that we are excited to be here, and it's our first time here. we also informed this host that we are here for lunch and that my husband would need to return back to work within the hour.
Our server, another lady - younger brunette - took ten minutes to even get to our table.
She placed the menu on our table and walked away. No smile. No greeting. Nothing.
Took her another ten minutes to bring us a basket of bread.
      She never returned.
Ten minutes pass. We placed the menus clearly to the side and hoped someone would see that we would like to order. Nothing.
Eventually my husband said excuse me to the hostess walking by, to inform her that we are ready to order.
She tells us "oh I'll send your server over."
And she did, but it took our server another 10 mins to come over.... when we could clearly see she was standing by the bar just chatting with a coworker.
Her primary duty is to see to the concerns of patrons visiting the restaurant.
Not continuing and completing convo with a coworker.
      Anyhow, she eventually comes over.
      Takes our order. No smile.
      Barely looks at us.
The food takes another 25 minutes to show up. But we barely get a few bites in....
But hey we had to head back... because it was afterall our lunch hour... and now there is no other customer in the restaurant.
We then look around and wait for the server to care to approach us to see if we need anything else or are enjoying our food or anything.....
      And we can't find her.
We eventually spot her... by the bar. Wave her down and ask her for the bill. And for a take-home container, because well we only got to finish about 10% of our meals.
She returns with the bill, the payment moneris machine and empty containers.
So late, that my husband had to get up and leave and I sat there paying the bill and pouring our meals into the containers.
I still tipped 10%. Although to be honest, after I left.... I realized I should have tipped nothing at all and should've spoken to the manager right away.

I later called the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager.
He was apologetic. And offered to send me a gift card.
I respectfully declined and reiterated that we could more than pay for our meals... ten times over.
      Cost was never the issue.
The disrespect and hurt we felt was!!!

I shared with him that I felt like the server could not care less to be there working, and the way she "didn't even look at us" made me feel like she had a problem with us....
      But for what reason?
the only reason that could make sense was that we look evidently Indian (brown, tan skin) and she's a white woman....

My husband and I are both physicians. We look young so maybe she thought we don't need to be respected, or that we don't have money because we don't wear our bank balances and act pretentious like perhaps other folks that visit the restaurant.

Travel is our hobby. We have extensively dined at restaurants all over the world, Europe, Asia & the states.
I felt like my entire experience here was THEEEEE worst ever.
      I felt humiliated.
And it felt gross having to experience racism like this...
At a restaurant in a city we just newly moved to.

Will never set foot here again and will ensure others we meet get to hear about this experience.

Restaurants run and stay busy because of the customers - remember that for long term longevity of your business!

This was my 3rd time going and I have to say this will be my last.

The decor yes, is beautiful but that's just as far as it goes as the food was less than mediocre compared to the previous 2 visits that I came a year ago.

Not sure if the chef changed or something due to what I noticed the restaurant was perhaps bought out by one of those big guys (forgot the name but the colourful logo was on the top right of the menus which I don't recall seeing before).

Anyways food wise, we ordered minestrone soup in a cup (which was tiny! I think they got smaller than before), Brussels sprout salad, and gnocchi all of which were a disappointment.

The soup had a bland taste it really had no kick to it and lacked any type of seasoning.

Brussel sprout salad, I really think they should change this name since the salad pretty much looked like bunch of arugula and maybe one or two Brussel sprouts sliced in half were buried in the arugula you could barely find them. The butternut squash were cut in tiny little pieces like baby food and some few raisins here and there. So ya, this should be called Arugula salad if they're gonna go cheap on the main ingredients.

Last but not least, gnocchi. This was a huge disappointment. I recently had the best gnocchi at my brothers Italian wedding and the waiter insisted that theirs were the best...well the gnocchi seemed overcooked and I guess they were left in the water for sometime it was too soft and tasted like Playdough...it needed more sauce and the sauce was tasteless...it was so bland and didn't have much flavour...so we actually had to find the waiter (which took a while since our waiter was not attentive and too busy with other tables ...) to pass us the salt and pepper. :(

In terms of service, I would say between average and less than average considering the last time we went we actually waited about 50 minutes while seeing all the tables next to us being served. This didn't happen this time around but again the waiter lacked attention and seemed too busy for us.

      That is all.

Food was nice, mussels very good but entire experience was destroyed by host placing 2 families with kids right beside us in an otherwise empty restaurant on a Friday night? I understand it's geared to family but we went for the ambience and a romantic evening.
