Extremely disappointed in my trip here.
It smelled awful for some reason when I walked in.
Staff were in the back so we waited for a few minutes before anyone could take our order.
For being in busy downtown I feel like they had no sense of urgency.
I ordered a regular cup, which cost me $7 and some change, and the cup is so small.
The barista decided to get the food orders placed after me ready before even starting on my drink order.
I ordered a dirty chai with soy to go, and by the time it was cool enough to try it, it tastes awful.
I love supporting small business, but I'd much rather go to Starbucks than here.
Decor was pleasing but that's all.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - J L.New Castle, CO2119587Mar 1, 2019
Hoping for a healthy, light lunch. Excited to see salads and sandwiches, but sandwich was mediocre at best. Hard to find. (Inside Chase building downtown.) Out of avocado. Out of strawberries. Out of panini bread. Can't figure out how to refund a customer. Boo. Agree with review regarding weird smell.

I was underwhelmed by this place. The staff is so nice and amazing. The panini(chicken) was bland and not much flavor. Now, I think cheese always gives some extra pizzazz but nothing. The coffee is strong so that is a bonus and the service is remarkable. The location of the place is great as well. I just didn't enjoy the food and went to another place to get a sandwich. If they get a bit more flavor in the sandwiches I would maybe come back but ...

Went here because I just happened to be downtown while working today. I opted for the Mediterranean salad and my coworker opted for the special. My salad was very fresh and delicious. I also had their house made vinaigrette, which was fabulous. I was a bit disappointed because there was essentially a pile of dressings and a list of the dressings that were offered, but none of the dressings were labeled. So, I just had to guess that I was eating the vinaigrette. My coworker's soup arrived warm and she said it was very good. Her sandwich that came as part of the special also looked large and quite good, but it was served dry.
All in all, a very handy place to stop and have lunch in downtown. It's a great alternative to eating fast food. However, if you order anything other than the special for the day, it is a bit expensive. I paid $13 for a salad and a bottle of water which seems a bit steep to me, given the size. Nevertheless, my salad was quite delicious. The parking was also a bit of an issue. We got lucky and found a place on the street, but only about six of those exist so I am not sure where you'd park otherwise. I would certainly go back if I am downtown again, but I'm not sure I would go out of my way to go down there to eat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jin C.Houston, TX5117821Nov 11, 2017
Nice little sandwich shop inside an office building. I like that there was a lot of free and open street parking around it, but Midland isn't as busy and crowded as it used to be. I was the only one eating lunch in there at 1:30 on a Monday.
Tried the Cubano sandwich with pulled pork, ham, cheese, and pickles pressed together. It came with a creamy ranch like sauce, and a creamy mustard sauce. The bread had a nice toasted crunch on the outside, and was soft on the inside. All the ingredients mixed nicely together. I wish they put the mustard spread inside the sandwich instead of having to dip it. The ranch like sauce was too salty for my tastes. If you look at the pictures, you might get the feeling that these sandwiches are kind of small, but they are actually REALLY small. Pretty expensive for what you get, but it's tasty.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 19, 2016
Excellent coffee latte here inside office building with two lovely ladies attending my Americano needs. Short on honey so added the raw brown sugar. All good here with cute industrial feel and good seating arrangement. Also hot and cold grill items, sandwich and other drink options. Just right today.

First time trying this place, and I was highly impressed. Very modern, with communal seating in most of the cafe like a large sofa and a picnic style table and bench which gives you an opportunity to sit with a large group or meet new people. I had a ham and guacamole panini with pepper jack cheese which was the special for the day. It was delicious, as was the fresh brewed tea.
We went right at noon, ordered and got our lunch within 5-6 minutes, so it's perfect if you're in a rush. The staff was really nice and friendly.
Of course, probably the only place in Midland you can find Lavazza coffee so we had to have a cup before we left. This will definitely be a new go-to spot for lunch. Highly recommend if you're in a hurry and looking for healthy and organic meal options that won't break the bank.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lyndsay N.Midland, TX65401Apr 4, 2014Updated review
I've had lunch here since my last review. I ordered the enchilada soup and the grilled cheese w/ mushrooms. The soup was just as delicious as the first time! I would recommend not putting cheese in the soup or offering it on the side. It gets very stringy in the soup and it's hard to eat.
The grilled cheese was delicious and I liked the addition of the mushrooms. It was a large portion and I would have saved half of it for later if my Dad hadn't been there to eat the rest. : )
Keep up the good work!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We're happy to hear you've found so much to enjoy here, whether you're on the go or staying in for a bite. We'll take your comments to heart about the panini! All the best,
Taste @ 508Mar 13, 2014Previous reviewI have had lunch here twice and both times I enjoyed the food and ambiance. The first time I got the chicken panini sandwich that comes on jalapeño cheese bread. They served a good portion of chicken and it tasted very fresh. My only complaint is the bread wasn't toasted like a panini, it wasn't even warm and the bread slices were too thick. I found myself taking off the top slice of the bread.
The second time I ordered the Chicken Enchilada soup which is served with a large croissant. The soup is only served in a cup. It had a nice spice to it and full of flavor! The croissant was flaky and light, a great addition to the soup. The iced tea is really fresh and both times they offered a different flavor as well as regular tea.
The clean, modern decor is a welcoming change to midland. They have created a balanced environment to either pick something up to go or to stay awhile and relax!
I look forward to going back and trying something new! - Michael M.Houston, TX39735110Dec 11, 2015
Top notch fresh food and good coffee right near the workplace.
I really couldn't ask for more as far as Midland is concerned. Taste @ 508 has hot breakfasts and a great array of cold and hot sandwiches for lunch. I particularly enjoyed the Havana, a grilled cheese with ham and pickles, and the cold smoked salmon sandwich with cream cheese. Great quality ingredients.
The coffee drinks are solid too! For those like me who need things a bit stronger, a double shot of espresso over ice is just the ticket here. They also have festive flavors (e.g., butterscotch latte, etc.) for those with a sweet tooth.
Inside is bright, modern and sleek, with a decent amount of seating. Service is friendly.
Things can get a little busy and backed up around lunchtime, so for rush hour, I highly recommend the pre-packaged stuff.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 17, 2016
Coffee was good and so was the breakfast croissant sandwich. Service was quick and perfect if you are in a hurry in the morning. Especially with the app order to go... Unfortunately it didn't work for me when I tried it.
