I don't deal with the employees other than checkout most of the time, so I can't complain about that stuff. I also haven't been to the Coleman location, so I have no idea what bells and whistles I'm missing out on. Igorance is bliss, I guess. I found this location to have good stock and to be clean and organized.
Even though this Target is closer to my house I usually prefer to shop at the Coleman Target. As other reviewers have stated this location doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that some of the newer Targets have and is often out of stock. The customer service in this location also leaves a lot to be desired, more often than not the cashiers are off in their own little worlds. I waited over 3 minutes to be rung up while my cashier chit chatted with the cashier an aisle over about her daughter's school play...as I was STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HER! Literally I am standing in front of this woman and she makes no effort to say hello or start ringing up my purchases, she just continued on with her conversation like she had nothing better to do. I probably should have said something, but it was the end of a long day at work and I just didn't have the energy.
On a totally different note I do have to give 5 stars to Cathy an older lady working in the electronics department. I was purchasing a new stereo for my office, and my boss is kind of cheap so my orders were to purchase the least expensive stereo they had. Yes Sir, one $49.99 Audiovox coming right up! When I went to pay at the electronics counter (no way would I willingly put up with the front checkout) Cathy took one look at that sad little Audiovox and asked me "Do you like Sony? I think Sony might be better." I explained the financial restrictions I was under courtesy of my boss, then Cathy let me know that they had Sony stereos on clearance for $50. The clearance stereos were on a pallet like they were waiting to be stocked and none had prices on them, so w/out the 411 from Cathy I never would have known. So basically yay Cathy, booo inattentive cashier up at the front.

This is what they call Tar-ghetto (TAR-JHE-TO).... The service isn't very friendly- typical highschoolers and their boss who thinks she's so great. Smaller store and it can be kind of a mess. No one to help. I pushed the button for help in the "furniture" department and like 1 second before the time limit was up some older man comes running down the aisle passed us and turns the alert off (I guess they have to respond within a certain amount of time). What I am wondering is why do they have this older gentleman (in his 60's) doing the running? All of those highschoolers hanging out in the front can't run? But what do I know. Anyways... I'm glad they built this one because I used to have to go to the one on Morrill... and since they have remodeled the Morrill one it's almost worth making the drive. But anywho... I'll update this when I have more information....
One more thing almost every time I go there they are cleaning the bathroom but every other time it is a disgusting mess. How does that work? Maybe I always go right when they are cleaning or right before they are cleaning- I've never seen it clean though.
This is the closest Target to my house, however, I will drive out of my way to go to the one on Morrill or Coleman to avoid this location. Its always out of stock or there is stuff all over the floors or there are aren't enough registers open. I can never find my daughters size in shoes or clothing...but they always have plenty of her size at the other locations. I guess the east side has ALOT of 5 year old girls who wear 6T -size 12 shoes!
Ever since I moved 2 miles down from my old apartment in japantown, my Tarjay radius has changed. So instead of Coleman, I now frequent the McKee/Capitol Target just cause it's slightly closer.
I love Target mind you but this one isn't as nice as the Curtner or Coleman one. All Target's have their plus or minuses. This particular one doesn't have a wine section, no pharmacy, nor does it have a 1 hour photo area either. It's a basic Target without the bells and whistles.
I come here when I know I need something fast.

This Target is beyond sub-par compared to the others in the South Bay Area.
-The food wasn't well stocked
-The aisles weren't well maintained
-The DVD section was very minimal
-Way too many stupid people clogging the aisle traffic
But hey, the prices are still good, so two stars for that.

I love Target... it's close to my house and has mildly fun stuff to browse through. When I need a lot of household items, I'll drive to a less expensive store but if I just need to pop in something minor, Target is my place! I especially like the outdoor home and garden section at this location.
It only gets 4 stars instead of 5 though cause of a customer service ordeal. I ordered my boyfriends huge wall map from Target.com and when I ordered, their site said I could return it to any Target store if there were problems. Well unfortunately, the map arrived damaged, the tube had been bent and the map inside had a crease running through it so... I returned it to Target as their website indicated and they tried to refuse the return. They said it was 'store policy' to not accept online purchase returns. I replied that they couldn't just decide to not allow returns if Taget.com states that I can return purchases to any Target store. They tried to make me take it to the post office myself... I had to get pretty mad for them to take the return. And still... I was out the 10$ for the bad shipping. Oh well. Target is still mostly cool.
They have a good variety of decent quality stuff. :)
See ya there!

on a sunday night: WHY DIDNT ANYBODY TELL ME THAT IT'S INDEPENDENCE'S HIGH SCHOOL REUNION?!
damn, did independence screw you up so badly that you can't give me service with a smile?
to even everything out, there are nice workers. i wanna give a shout-out to my girl, rosita! she's too cute and old to be working at target. it hurts to see old people put to work during the holiday season at 10:30 on a sunday night. god bless her kind heart. she kindly told me that a pair of hot looking shoes were out of stock.
ooh..and that guy, who was limping, gently told me that they ran out of $7.99 heaters . poor limping guy has to clean up after the messy target shoppers.
in all, some of the workers are still nice after a long hard day of work even though the store is hella messy and their stock always runs low.
