8 reviews for Target
Oh Target, I want to write you poetry.
I adore your walls full of cheap, brightly colored adornments. Like a ferret I race through each aisle, distracted as flashes of glittering treasure rush by.
I am amazed that your jewelry racks do not resemble a tornado swept plain, and that your fitting rooms are quite and...clean! Amazed that not every shoe has been matched for only those with two left feet?
Have you been to Wheaton? Have you met your trashy twin?
Target at Cherry Hill you are a blessing and curse. I cannot leave you empty handed.
The usual Tar-jay, in a shopping center with a Super Fresh, some chain fast food, and a pet store. I'd shop here more often only either they have an unusually high number of disabled shoppers or they only have one (or fewer) motorized scooters because one is never available when I shop. So I generally go in, pick up just the one thing I'm looking for, and then go out. By contrast, the one in Wheaton always seems to have scooters available, but doesn't have wide enough aisles to maneuver in.
I really like this Target. It's clean. It's not ghetto. It has a large and great selection. There's plenty of aisle space for shopping cart racing and lots of neat places to play hide and seek! I'm a kid stuck in a kid-sized, but adult body, what can I say? I love to have fun.
Anyhow, the best thing about this Target is it's location. Very convenient from Riderwood. That's where my bf's grandparents live. Target here has some great neighbors like Babys R Us, Friendly's, Game Stop, McDonald's, SuperFresh, PetsMart, Staples, Potomac Adventist Book Health Food Store, and Kohl's. There are some other stores I'm sure I forgot, but yeah, this is one of my favorite Target's to shop at. It's close enough to College Park for students, but distant enough for it to feel like a community based business rather than a hang out magnet like the Target in Adams Morgan.
I love Target, and pretty much every Target is the same. This used to be my regular Target until they built the one in Wheaton.
What this Target has that the other one doesn't is a much nicer grocery Marketplace. You can actually do all your shopping here, with the exception of produce and fresh meats and fish. Well, if you are the frozen foods kind of shopper then you're safe.
What this Target doesn't have is an organized pharmacy. I LOVE the pharmacists at the Wheaton store! They have a section for drop off, a section for pick -up and a private consultation counter. It is not that I had to wait an unreasonable amount of time, but there seemed to be only two people working back there and both of them were searching for a bottle of something. Hello, the clock is a ticking!
another thing here, that I also noticed the last time I was at this location is that they charge more for some of the regular items I buy. A 6 pk box of Luna Bars is $6.24 here and only $5.49 in Wheaton. Also some of their clearance items in the food aisles (like their Choxie chocolates) are marked different prices for identical items. Hmm, maybe some are older than others.
I'd come back here if I was going to Kohl's or Home depot, but for now, I'll stick to my usual Target.
Are you kidding? This Target is a disaster area, especially the pharmacy. No, not all Targets are the same. So far in my experience in DC, the ones here are run by complete incompetents. And this one is the worst.
This Target is like a breath of fresh air to someone that has been holding their breath waiting for another good Target experience to come along. If you read my other Target review, you'll know how much I dislike the one in Wheaton; if you haven't, you might want to check that out.
Anyways, the hubbs and I were oh so curious to see if this one was any better than the one in Wheaton while we were up in Trader Joe's neck of the woods and we were once again happy to discover, yes!
This Target smells like a Target should; women's clothes in front with that brand new fabric smell and some food smells emanating from the Pizza Hut mini they have in this Greatlands edition. Target Greatlands just means that they sell grocery items here as well as their other usual products. Sadly, there was no Starbuck's in here to fill the air with that awesome coffee aroma like the ones I'm accustomed to in Columbia and Bowie, but the Pizza Hut mini shop and familiarity made up for it all.
The set up is the same great set-up; some of the products are undeniably cute; even this $19 adorable, checkered sun dress with deep pockets I had to take home with me yesterday. Yeah, sometimes I'm a super-impulsive shopper and Target is my bane.
This Target is well-stocked and clean; all the things you have come to know and love about Target, but what Libby says about the pharmacy. I don't know anything about that, so I'll leave the pharmacy expertise up to her.
Yay Target!!
when we all say that we don't shop at places like target and walmart, it's all a lie.. everyone shops here.. you might not like their clothes or shoes, but when it comes down to the one stop shop for everything you need, you go to target... something for everyone, and it's always at least a half hour in this place, but you haveta give love to target, because walmart was SOOO last year.
FURNITURE:
i've gotten some bar stools, and two nightstands here at the store, and this one specifically at the wheaton plaza is great for furniture.. it's got most of things online in stock, and that really helps because the shipping fee is crazy high online.. i will say that the furniture is of decent quality, prolli even better than ikea, only thing is is the price isn't as great as ikea.. so you haveta be a really smart shopper for some things.. but best part of the section is the clearance section because you can really find some good finds here.. spend some time strolling in this area, because whether it's a bookcase, a picture frame, or a mirror, there's something for everyone..
THE CLOTHES:
i don't shop here for clothes.. BUT i will say when it comes to exercise pants, or halloween costume materials ( let's say you need a robe but you dont wanna go to victoria's just to get a robe for an outfit for one nite of crazy drinking.. )... this place is the shizzle.. leggings and such are also a good deal because why spend 14-15 bucks on leggings if they're gonna go under a skirt or long shirt?? target : 5.99.. BBEAUUUTTIIFFULL~!! all my work out clothes come from here, no shame in $10 pants that my ass is going to be sweating in anyways..
THE OFFICE SUPPLIES and SUCH:
great.., folders, school supplies, office stuff, cleaning supplies, wrapping paper and cards... this place is really a one stop shop.. and i will say they always have the cutest lil' stationary for the girlie girl in you... i've never had an instance when i was looking for something in this section and couldn't get it.. and when they have their lil' sales.. the cat litter and food are superiorly cheap..
THE BEAUTY SUPPLIES:
i can be a snob about some things like shampoo or make up, but when ever you need green eyeliner, wet and wild will do.. for all your halloween needs.. and since i'm a sucker for nail polish, there's always a lil' clearance section with tons of nail polish that you can indulge all your pedicure fantasies... spend some time, and decide if you want purple toes or blue, or passionate pink or ruby red nails.. it's all here.. and aisles.. and aisles.. and aisles.. and aisles for you to love..
OVERALL:
target quality is much better than walmart and you haveta admit it's not as 'ghetto' as walmart can be.. things aren't sprawled all over the place in target, and products are put where they are supposta be... i hate going to walmart to find a specific iron and then realizing that people don't put it there, but behind some other irons or i'll chance upon it in the food aisle.. .. or it's just outta stock..
and people don't wear happy faces at target.. they just wear a red shirt ... so at least i'm not being hypnotized by the happy face that says i should be happy!
Everyone secretly loves Target. That's just the way it is. I have bought a little bit of everything here--furniture, makeup, workout clothes (they really can't be beat for the price, and who cares if something you're wearing to do situps at the gym has Gortex? Seriously), cards, kitchen supplies, CDs...the list goes on. When I need alot of different things, I almost always go here. It's so convinient. And while I hate WalMart, the quality of the products here and the calibur of the service, clientele, etc, far surpasses that of WalMart. And KMart just doesn't even get a mention because I refuse to acknowledge its existance.
