Going to Target on a busy Sunday is one of the closest things to hell on earth I have experienced.
Add one meandering wife who loves shopping and talking and her aunt who wants to buy a dustbuster and now I'm paying off some serious karmic debt waiting for them to choose the right sale priced toothpaste.
Giving a decent star rating because Target is doing something right by getting all these people into their stores.
I just don't ever want to go there again.
This target has gone downhill, or just plain sucks today! I usually refuse to go to target on a weekend just because prices are higher and its just crowded with people!
I had to come because my cats were running out of food! Guess what?? They didnt have the cat food i needed!!!!!! ahhhhhh of all the days..
They also didnt have a toy or flipflops i was looking for..if walmart wasnt that far, 10/10 times i would go to walmart instead of THIS target.
ok... i would go to the old target first before going to walmart. :]

Ok, it's bad. G. and I have just moved to San Francisco and I can't get my weekly Target fix. So now it becomes like this special outing, where we actually have to plan for it, and get in the car and drive OUTSIDE of town like 25 minutes. WTF.
I get that SF folks don't like the "Big Box" stores, but what about the Costco right down the street and the Best Buy across from it? Why take away my TARGET?
Anyway, today we made that outing. Moved into a new place, got new things to buy, things you can most cheaply and easily buy at Target. Shower curtains, a new roasting pan, cat food, cat litter...
So we pull up in the parking lot, the one the GPS tells me is still .40 miles from our destination. Whatever. The sign outside says "Target Greatland". I'm thinking acres of shopping. I'm thinking bright shiny displays, full supermarket. Wrong.
This Target is seriously ghetto. The layout is all wrong. There was no rhyme or reason to the organization. It was not bright. Not shiny. I felt like I was shopping at a Dollar General store. The product selections are limited. Or sold out. It became more of a trip to see what we wanted then go home and order it online.
To sum it up, as my friend Swapna would say, "STAY AWAY".
I'm going to have to find an alternative, even if it means a longer drive.
I went here today and went clothes shopping. Goods prices and good quality. Friendly staff, lots of them spoke Tagalog. Lots of parking. Kind of busy on the weekend. Good prices on all sorts of products here.
I did not fall in love with Target until I started preparing to move into the dorms. Simply say: Target has all the things you need at a convenient price. Only 4 stars because service needs improvement.
I LOVE TARGET!
I HATE THIS LOCATION!
Why?
I don't understand how they organize the shelves there.... When I moved to Daly City, I had to purchase tons of new cleaning supplies. Everything was in total chaos. I had to ask almost every time to find something after looking in a logical place.
Too crowded. Not Target's fault. I just can't take shopping in an environment like that.
Why in a Mall? Doesn't make sense to me.
I hate hate hate this Target!!!
OK... SERIOUSLY PEOPLE?!?!
I think that most of the reviews of this store aren't for this store specifically, but more or less for Target in general, because there is NO WAY this place deserves anything more than a 2 star average.
While I must admit I am a DIE HARD Target fan.. this location is TERRIBLE! I went in with the boyfriend to invest in some rain boots... simple enough, right? NOT SO MUCH. We were greeted with total and utter CHAOS!!!! Not one employee in sight, and the entire shoe section was in shambles. I found one lone pair of galoshes chilling on the floor but sadly they were tagless. I finally track down an associate and not only is she completely CLUELESS about the cost of said boots and the possibility of locating others, but she YELLS at me that "everything is OUT" in broken English, and then just WALKS AWAY!!. Needless to say I DID NOT buy the boots and WILL NOT be returning.
Bwahaha, you won't screw me over again, Target Daly City!!
On an impulse purchase, I managed to score the last copy of Batman Arkham Asylum. So no wandering around the mall like an asshole looking for a game and no time wasted! YES Me:1, Target: 0

This place will make you cazy on the weekend!! AHHHHH, go to the Colma location, it's right on the other side of 280, and it's not attached to the mall so it won't be as busy. On any given weekend there are just too many people here.
Push your damn carts, people! That said, I love Target, generally.
Here is the deal.
It's Target- they are the same everywhere.
Plus side:
It is easy to get to. Right off the 280.
Plenty of parking.
There are other big box stores with walking distance.
Always busy, never any parking, cant even move a cart in this target! go a mile down to the other target on junipero serra!
3 stars for targets awesome prices!!
I wandered into this Target store looking for long-sleeved maternity shirts. Because summer in San Francisco looks nothing like summer in other parts of the country, I hoped to find some on the clearance rack.
The racks in the general vicinity of the tiny maternity section were in complete disarray with clothes on the floor and Target associates lurching in front of me to shove more hangers into the mad milieu. Plus, there was one toddler somewhere in the store screaming at the top of his lungs as though someone were killing him with a chainsaw. The whole experience left me sour on this specific Target, which I shall now rename "Targhetto".
Oh, and just as a side note, not only was the maternity section totally devoid of sales, but they had mixed it in together with the "Plus Size" women's clothing. Nothing a pregnant woman loves more than the implication that she is fat.
I'll check the Target just across the highway next time.
I spent $350 here.
$150 of it was clothes.
I am an addict.
Help. Me.
This Target location is not that great. Everything is too high for a short person. If you are short and looking to buy replacement heads for an electric toothbrush, then skip this location. You won't be able to reach with out any assistance. I never see any workers who like to assist short people anyway. Also this target doesn't carry Purell travel size when we don't need to take the big size whereever we go. I only come here if I need dishdetergent or a brand new mop. Everything else I skip
I shop at this Target once in awhile so I'm not a regular. It has the usual Target assortment of household goods, food items, etc. The store seems clean.
I sometimes buy the Target casual pants for work, they last longer than Dockers but probably look more Targ'et then anything.
I don't think they have a good variety of dental hygiene accessories which a large chain store should carry.
Overall I would shop their for household items.
This one is better than that crappy ghetto one in San Bruno, but I agree with Jennifer F (P) that it's ever so slightly less ideal than the one in Colma.
There are these 3 Targets within a small distance, so cross the highway and go to the Colma one.
This one is fine--clean, well-lit, same selection for the most part, but but it's busier. I'm not down with that whenever possible. That said, I do love Targets of all kinds, even that ghetto one. I don't really care that this one is connected to the mall--it's not a mall I like, so doesn't add any extra reason to his this one.
I am not a fan of what often are referred to as "big box retailers" but the Target locations we have here in Daly City and Colma are not bad. I can see why shoppers are attracted to them. Lots of merchandize at really affordable prices.
I'm a complete novice when it comes to bargain shopping. I had never even been to Target to be honest. So my fella thought it would be a good idea to ease me into a more frugal lifestyle. I guess the fact that I don't drive keeps me shopping more in the city and not realizing that there are bargains to be found.
I did find a ton of things that I wasn't expecting... cards from papyrus, soy candles that weren't super expensive, soft/fluffy socks to wear to work that didn't cost $7/pair, and I even saw a great decorative pillow that had been reduced to $6 for some freaky reason. I didn't even realize that Dwell did a line at Target... needless to say I was impressed with the quality of some of the items here.
The downside to this particular location... it's extremely CROWDED. You seriously could not take a cart down any of the isles, unless it was empty. I even spotted a couple of really decent ties and even a basic black sweater that I can just throw over whatever I'm wearing when it's cold. I'm not sure I would want to deal with the crowds here, but even I can appreciate cheaper basics and the occasional super cheap find.
I'm sorry, did I miss something?
Isn't Target supposed to be awesome? Isn't shopping at Target supposed to be the world's greatest experience because within minutes of grabbing a red shopping cart you realize first that you want everything, then that you can HAVE everything because you can AFFORD IT?!?!? I mean, don't those principles lie at the very CORE of the Tar-jay brand???
This place is not awesome. Yes, it's enormous, but it's almost like they took all the shit that nobody wanted to buy from EVERY OTHER TARGET IN THE WORLD and brought it to this one. The layout is odd and disorganized, and the electronics/dvd's section is always an obstacle course. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!
One star for the the female accessories being the only section that doesn't suck. One more for the Christmas trees - because I got a nice 6-footer for around 50 bucks.
It seems that many other posters prefer the Target across the freeway in Colma. I like this one, oddly enough.
Sure, after being used to the Colma location, it is more difficult to find things. WHY can't they keep the layout the same @ every Target? That would make life so much easier.
Living in the city now, I realize how expensive everything is if I decide to 'shop locally'.
For example:
Walgreens Target
All 3x detergent $7.99 $4.50
Evenflo nipples: $4.99 $2.29
Little noses nasal
spray/saline $4.29 $2.59
Spray nWash $4.59 $2.29
You get the point. After a 10 week period of being unable to do a Target Shopping Spree and doomed to buy everything at Walgreens, I finally went this week and combined it with a lunch date with a friend. With an 8 week old at home, it is nothing short of motherly guilt that I leave my baby at home with daddy for a few hours.
(God, how am I going to go back to work?)
Their baby items are well organized in that center 'aisle' area. I like.
And don't get me wrong. I love Walgreens. But their prices, notsomuch.
Friends who live out of state sing the praises of shopping at Wal-Mart, but since we don't have that as an option, I happily will go here.
The sales clerk watched as my total verged well over $200, and suggested I apply for the Target card for an automatic 10% discount. Oh, hells yes. Note to self: Remember to pay that bill!!!!
Target is my favorite store ever! The organization and layout of this place is not as neat as I like. The employees are never helpful. I always get the uh...overthere point... Its very frustrating considering I shop at target ALL the time and usually know where they stock items.
***Their electronics department is TERRIBLE! I once asked for help with a camera and the guys suggested I buy something else because: "I dont know anything about cameras to be honest"
People, uh hello....the prices are cheap because they have no employees! If you want good service go to Nordstom,.
WHAT THE.....
It's the holiday's and there are NO express lanes open?!
I waited in a freaking l o n g a s s l i n e ...
for two 3-packs of gum and lotion.
Stupid Target.

When I want something I like to goto this target because it is HUGE.
Minus a couple stars for not restocking shelves. The parking is tolerable, but the crowds get qutie packed.
WHY would you go here? ALWAYS go to the Target in Colma on the other side of 280. It's like a quarter mile away, it's twice as big, it has higher ceilings, it's easier to find things, they have more things in stock, it's less crowded, it's cleaner, they have shorter lines.
If it needed to be said, this Target is small, claustrophobic, poorly laid-out, out of half the things you need, dirty, chaotic, has long lines. And a lot of the shoppers kind of have an attitude.
Seriously why would you go here? The other one is RIGHT THERE. Seriously.
I love Target. I love any cheaper-than-bloomingdales-over-priced houseware-department, department stores. I can spend hours in here and I do!
This particular Target is connected to a mall, so you can do a variety of shopping. Other than that, it's just like the other 2 Target's in Colma within a 1 mile radius.
This Target is crowded!
I guess the plus side with this one is that it is attached to the mall so you can keep on shopping once you are done at Target for all your daily needs and etc.!
I specifically go to this Target because it's connected to the main and convenient for shopping. I've purchased a variety of goodies here, i.e., clothing, electronics, food, toiletries, media, etc. All experiences here were fantastic. The only negative thing I can say is when they newly released the Wii. This Target only had a limited stock and we went there almost every day to get our hands on one. We had luck at another Target location that was very close to this one.
Like most of the reviews I've seen for this place, I prefer the one on the other side of the 280 over this one. I don't know... this place just has more ghetto people going inside, probably because of the ghetto people who shop in Serramonte.
I guess I decide how I like places based on the type of people they attract (like the Century 20 over in Daly City... what the fuck's up with all the idiots that go there?) Well at least that's one criteria. I wouldn't mind as much, but this place was pretty crowded when I went today with friends. One person put their own fucking empty drink container in my friend's cart like it was a trash can... that's just fucking rude and proves my point on the ghettoness of this place.
Who the fuck DOES that? ASSHOLES! That's who.
Now I'm pretty sure an employee didn't do that because if that were the case, I'd definitely bring it down to one star, but the fact that this place was crowded... when I start thinking I should get the fuck out of here, then it's not a good sign.
I found most stuff all right... most. I don't know... I'm not big on huge superstores being a mini Walgreens, a mini Safeway, a mini Toys R Us, etc., but frankly, I'd rather go here than Walmart any day. That being said, I couldn't find certain items that I was looking for that I would have found in that spot. They're lacking in certain items.
They have a better selection in the other Target. Better selection in facial care, better selection in board games (which I now have to go to if I want new board games since there's no Toys R Us around this area any more.)
This place is all right, I guess... at least it's not Walmart... and there is some convenience that it's connected to the mall... even though I'm not particular fond of this mall any more... but if you need to go to Target, go to the bigger one down the road. Don't bother with Serramonte.
This review is for the pharmacy at the Serramonte Center store:
Unfortunately I take a lot ot prescription drugs. I found out I could save a few hundred dollars a year by having the prescriptions filled at Target. I called to see about transferring my prescriptions to their store. My first clue should have been when they told me they were too busy to talk to me & that I should use the service on their website to transfer my scrips.
Unfortunately, I'm dumb. So I followed their advice, spent a lot of time typing info into their clunky website and went on my merry way, thinking that the wheels of commerce were turning.
Unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Many phone calls later, they admitted that their web site doesn't work very well for ordering drugs. Even though I had sent them an order for all my drugs, they only received half the information. They also admitted that even though they give you the option to be emailed when your prescriptions are ready, that option doesn't really workk. They also stated that it's not their policy to phone you when your prescriptions are ready ... unless you request to be notified. What???
Unfortunately, I still didn't give up. After speaking to a clerk, the pharmacist and the pharmacy manager to confirm that I'd be called when the rest of my drugs were ready, I waited. And waited. And waited. After two weeks I called & was informed my drugs had been returned to the shelf since I didn't pick them up! I didn't pick them up because I was never informed they were ready.
Unfortunatley, Target lost my business.
The thing I notice is that all the Targets I go to are all pretty much the same................and they all provide a solid shopping experience.
I picked up some groceries here, a candy bar, a card for my hunny, some detergent, a beanbag chair for my game room, a pair of sandals and a Slurpee. Honestly, what more do you need in life?
This Target is basically the same as the Colma one just down the hill, but there is a shopping mall attached with a Macy's. So it really depends on the sort of shopping you want to do as to which you want to go to. I do prefer the one in Colma though; less people.
-the place is constantly crammed with shoppers maneuvering between the actual target store and the mall.
-things are limited in terms of supply because of the high volume of shoppers. you may find that shelves are cleaned out pretty quickly.
-excellent service. employees are easy to find and quick to help you.
-one time i was looking for little dixie cups, the small ones that are used while you're brushing your teeth. the woman helping me went ahead and checked if there were any in stock (i couldn't find any on the shelf) and then looked up any other target stores that might have the same ones.
-i like the easy access to the mall. it makes shopping for presents really easy.
Who doesn't love Target? My roommate and I used to spend hours here during our college days (hey, you gotta do something during the day - partying is funner at night).
Anyway... Even if you prepare yourself with a list, there's always something else that you need to have that you didn't think about before. Don't deny it - I know this happens to you too.
On this latest trip, I was on the quest for a new suitcase. Yes, those who know me know I would very much would have liked to get a Tumi or a Samsonite (or (dream) an LV)... but my old Samsonite was on it's last legs (wheels?), and it had to go. I've been doing a lot of business traveling lately, and this was no time to be picky.
Ended up with a no-name brand that I HOPE beyond hope will last me a while. My last one just passed its 11th birthday. It's a carry-on, so it should save a little on the wear and tear. I'm usually the only one who will be handling it.
I've been searching for several months now for the right suitcase, so since Target was my saving grace this time, I have to give it praise.
This is one of the newest Target stores in the area and it is also one of the very worst. Don't get me wrong, I really like shopping at Target stores but I really hate going to this particular Target. The crowd control is really unacceptable.
I call it the "Daly City Syndrome". People wander about aimlessly, s-l-o-w-l-y, but not exactly sure where or which way they are headed. The worst ones are the families with strollers and kids hanging off of the shopping cart who feel they are entitled to block of an entire aisle to parade down Target's Main Street. It's like watching a slow float at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Except not as festive.
My jaw just dropped when I saw the mass of people there the last time. In addition to the snail families, too many kids running around away from adult supervision or swinging light sabers around. Attention Daly City, we are not your baby sitters. Also, I don't understand why people have to stop in the middle of a busy aisle to have a reunion. It seems as if this Target has more than its share of clueless shoppers inching along on their road to nowhere. In fact, the only ones who aren't acting clueless seem to be the shoplifters. Another rule of thumb for this Target, when one cart is blocking half of an aisle, there is usually a second cart blocking the other half. Of course, no one who shops at Whole Foods would be caught in this place.
Even though Serramonte provides a huge parking lot, parking is a nightmare because the drivers become road rage lunatics there.
While the customers are the worst part about this Target, the small inventory and disorganized, narrow layout are other minuses. Most aisles are so narrow they can barely accomodate two carts and too often, those two carts block off the aisle. There is absolutely no reason to go here with the galactically superior Target just a few minutes away in Colma. The sole bright spots for this place are proximity to Jamba Juice & Rubio's and the outstanding pharmacy.
Nancie T. reveals the secrets of of Black Friday shopping at Target:
1) Study the ad and pick out exactly what you want
2) Map out the store in advance so you know exactly where the item you want is
3) Appoint a DD: designated driver
4) Get dropped off in front of the store while DD finds parking
5) Walk in and head straight to the department you need to go. Do not wander. Do not stop. Do not pass GO.
6) When DD parks, make sure he (in this case, my bf) goes directly to the cash register line. Do not allow him to stray to the electronics section.
7) Get the item and meet DD in register line.
8) Pay for item and leave.
9) Go home and sleep. You deserve it, for waking up so early.
and that, my yelpers, is the successful shoppers guide to Black Friday. Yours truly shopped at both Serramonte and Stonestown and completed the mission in exactly 2 hours. I was back at home in bed by 8am, suckahs!!!!
I really like Target. The best time to go there is for sure early in the morning, BEFORE the rush.
I adore Target. I will always go to one, and refuse to step into a Walmart. But this Target isn't anywhere close to as nice as the ones I'm used to.
Its a bit on the dirty side. Not Walmart dirty, but its not bright and shiny like I'm used to. There are always a ton of people shopping there so some items on the shelfs are always out of stock that can be a pain. Checkout lines get a bit long, they need to work on getting extra cashiers where there is a back up.
BUT I love the pharmacy there. The pharmacists and techs are very nice and helpful. Service is always fast. Despite living IN San Francisco, I time my monthly RX refill with a trip to Target because of this. Plus before my insurance with my new job kicked in the prices there were cheap.
Here is my song: "because you never know what you're gonna find when you go to TarRget."
I love Target. and because there is no Wal-mart closer to my home, Target gets the ticket for everything. I get everything from DVDs, food, my presciption, to clothes and birthday presents.
People should still go to the one down the street on Junipero Serra if they want a quiet experience. I like to shop so either store is fine with me. Sometimes even the clearances are different. So depending on your experience and if you want to go to the mall at the same time, you must choose your poision either the one with the mall or the Target by its lonesome next to a Mattress Center and Round Table.
But I love Target nonethless.
