5 stars for customer service!
Here are my 2 great examples of how awesome the staff was:
1) I needed to buy 25 of the identical bowls and the employee went into the back and digged around for 10 mins and opened up new boxes to make sure I had every one I needed.
2) I bought a movie soundtrack CD only to find when I opened it that it was the scores and not the soundtrack. I went back 10 mins after I bought it and they let me exchange it even though it was open!
Thanks Colma Target!
I can't believe I'm actually reviewing Target -- but I am.. and its my ULTIMATE FAVORITE store .... ever. You get the point. I seriously go to Target at LEAST twice a wk. What can I say.. they really have everything you need..
Now, I really don't have much to say about customer service here just because I've never really needed help finding anything .. since everything is pretty much easy to find.. but, the cashier ladies are always nice! :)
I love the fact that they constantly remodel the store to make it look even better than before. Their products are high-quality.. and they are starting to have an amazing line of clothing -- working with high end designers and all!
Now... you really get how great Target is, right? Good.. cause its amazing. I tend to usually go to this one .. the one at Tanforan is a bit messy for me & it gets a bit crazy there with the lines. PLUS this Colma Target closes later than most of the Target in my surrounding area. The other Target I'd recommend is Foster Citys -- super huge & sparkly clean!
Anyway.... yeah, Target is great.. the end!
To me, this is the original Target.. and I can't help but give it a good rating even when some sales associates are friggin lazy.
Me: Hi! I was wondering if you could tell me where closet hanging cedar blocks are located.
Sales1: Oh, hmm.. we're.. out.. of those, aren't we?
Sales2: Oh.. yeah.. we're out.
Me: Hmm ok.. Thanks!
(we walk away)
Toast: I have a feeling they have it...
Less than 2 minutes later, we find them.
Lazyass... !! I should've gone over to smack 'em with the cedar blocks.
Anyways.. other than that, this Target is always well stocked, neat, and crazy crowded.. but I prefer it over the one up in Serramonte Mall.
Here we are locking for children's clothes when we see a lot of cute stuff here cheaper then carters sale items. My niece bought 2 outfits for the price of one at carters. The B-Day girl is 4 years old and will be happy with her cute new duds. My nephew even got a new wallet and a jpull over jacket for $11.00 total. Thanks target.
I would appreciate if the cashiers would stop talking to each other in tagalog while my items are being scanned. It's just plain RUDE!
I need an intervention.
It happened again. I swear I only went here with a $10 dollar gift card and wanted to pick up some razors. I walked out spending close to 40 bucks but I had a full cart! I know they strategically place the sale items as you make your way to the checkout lanes. I know they were trying to catch my eye...and IT WORKED!
Overall got a couple great deals on items I like to keep stocked up on and can always use. Someday at least. Aisles are nice and wide and shelves are always stocked up! i'll be back again soon, I know it.

So glad this target is still here. When the serramonte target came in years ago I was thinking this target would be closed, but luckily they are still standing!
Parking is never a problem. Not crowded. And of course Target prices, you CANNOT beat! The sales people could be a little bit more friendly and helpful. Never seem to be anyone around when you need help and those little scanning machines are great if they are working, which is not always so! Lines are quick! Loving Target!!
I can always rely on the good customer service I receive at the counters, especially from the Asian women. From the employees walking around the store, not too much, for quite the opposite a lot of times. Gotta work on that.
Other than that, Target has right about everything needed for the home, especially disposable goods. I think that matters the most since I could only buy so much stuff from Whole Foods without thinking I've gone too far. I live perhaps 15 minutes from the store via freeway, but it is worth a visit on a weekday. Weekends is a whole new story - akin to a madhouse is a good description, I think.
This Target is much better than the one at Serramonte. There's more variety here -- I've found three beauty/cosmetic items at this Target, that weren't available at the one at Serramonte. Parking is also easier here. In addition, there's not as many people; therefore, the lines go more quickly.
Hm, I just realized that in order for somewhere to get a five star rating, they have to really stand out :)
But anyways, all jokes aside, this place is great for most peoples needs. Things from toiletry to electronics to house-ware, books, and music, they just touch base on everything. Granted the only compromise is that not any given department really has a whole lot. Good selection still nonetheless, and everything very competitively priced! The atmosphere is very nice and open, makes me feel comfortable. Also! Registers and cashiers! They have tons of them! So the wait in line to check out is never super long!
The only real con would be that many of the employees don't seem to be very helpful ....
Oh Target, Colma Target. How do I love thee. Let me count the ways...
Or rather the other Targets within a mile that suck in comparison to you!
No, a Target is usually just a Target, but you're the one I prefer. You always have parking, are cleaner, less chaotic and packed and are not connected to a damn mall-mall. Sure, you're in a strip-mall, but not a mall-mall.
I will go the extra exit out of my way to come to you rather than your 2 silly competitors. Who in the hell chose to put 3 in such a close geographical distance to each other? What is this? Starbucks?
Yes, many wonder why there are two Target stores within such close proximity to each other. Well, one of my old marketing professors contacted their corporate office and they replied that one store couldn't serve the demand of the area. And I believe it.
I prefer this Target to the Serramonte location on the other side of 280 in that you don't have to battle for parking with other mall goers, and the bi-level Tanforan Target is just confusing.
My only complaint about this store is that there are NEVER any baskets at the entrances. I shop for only one person and a cart is usually overkill and hard to maneuver around all the unsupervised wild children running around, so I usually have to walk half way through the maze of checkout aisles to find a basket. The only basket by the doors are the fake ones which are really just the base of the basket stack that are glued down to the poles. Don't be fooled!
Frustration-free trips to Target are all about planning
These stores are like xmas all the time - full parking lots; tons of Kamikaze-cart-wielding people running all over the place; kids running & yelling & behaving poorly. Many the visit have seen kids screaming / crying / throwing tantrums & I just have NO tolerance
So after mentally preparing myself for such a visit, I make a dash to the Colma Target at 9 AM yesterday.....man, oh man what an incredible visit!!
Very few people out & about (it pays to be the early-bird); store is nicely laid-out w/ huge signs to easily find the dept I was seeking; totally open check-out stands so no waiting.....is this *really* a Target?!
My fav thing about Target is their Archer Farms products - exclusive to Target & they are yummiliscious! Their potato chips are 2-die-4! Garlic / Parmesan; Black Pepper / Sea Salt; Wasabi...all kinds of other unique but tasty flavors & they are super crunchy which is exactly what I like!
Plus, they had a GINORMOUS candy selection for Valentine's Day & I SO wanted to indulge but my New-Year's-Depravity-Resolution is still in place
But next time my little Target - you'll be my location of choice & I WILL indulge in your tasty offerings - looking forward!!
I LOVE TARGET, this one is especially my favorite. I love them even more that they're going to be closing at 11 starting next month.
Reading a lot of the reviews on here, you'd think that they were for "Target," in general. The Platonic Ideal of "Target" has great prices on fashionable, trendy things, but this particular instance of "Target" is a disaster.
Last time I visiting this Target, they were out of Coke. Diet Coke, Diet Caffeine Free Coke, Cherry Coke, and Vanilla Coke. But no Coke. Oh, and no tonic or soda. And they were out of lemon squeezers. They hardly had any smalls in underwear and t-shirts. And I couldn't find a certain type of bottle and the staff was unable to help me.
In general, the shelves are messy and often understocked. The food section is just terrible. The employees are unhelpful, sometimes bordering on rude. The carts are filthy and usually broken, that is, when you can find one. The Garden Center is detached from the main store and has a pitiful selection of greenery.
I only go here once every two months to get necessities, but often find myself at other stores to make up for the deficiencies. I'd try the mega Target across the highway, but the parking lot is always a madhouse. Hurumph.
Target is okay in this year of the worse friggin' economy 2008.
I have to make the trek out here to save money. Especially on toiletries and some food.
I can get Secret Deodorant for $2.59 and a 2 ounce pack of Philadelphia Cream Cheese for $1.19. I paid $1.25 for a dozen eggs last week.
I also like some of the clothing I can purchase. Hanes undergarments and Champion Athletic work out wear. It can be hit or miss with other clothing items.
I have learned to shop on weekday mornings. I made the mistake of arriving on a Saturday. The parking lot was pure chaos. I was ready to put my items back and skip checkout.
Overall I recommend shopping here. Save some money!
Less crowded than the Serramonte Center. I like this one a bit more because it's huge and we don't have the mall crowds.
and yes I like to browse in the Target Garden! ;)
Great for picking up the essentials, and grabbing the occasional hotdog or board game.
Glad this place is here is all
Like toilet paper and Google you may not love Target Colma but you need it, or it's too helpful not to use. The trick here is to get there early and park on the south side of the lot. That's where the chillas meet. Send your significant other in with a list. Pick them up. THen exit through the south gate. If you go in the main entrance and snake through the cars and the speed bumps you are a sucka.
The store has lots of people working the stations so you can get out fast. Support local businesses but do you really want to use leaves for toilet paper?
I love this target!
It's a bigger store with WIDER ISLES and a wider selection of items.
Recently I've discovered a new love of candles. They make this wonderful honeydew scented candle, only $3.99 for a 3x3 pillar!
Shampoos, cleaning supplies, snacks, organizing materials, clothing, pet supplies....they have everything! I can come to Target without any intention of buying something and leave with a basket filled with stuff I probably didn't need.
Oh! And how can I forget my expanding dvd collection! Target is notorious for having $20 tv on dvd and $5-9.50 movies.
Leave with a smile on your face.
3 stars because the Filipino ladies at the cashier lanes are always smiling, never mind that they have a million people to ring up.
I just can't believe how this target can dedicate four aisles of pet-related stuff
(think: pet food, beds and other accessories.) and only 2 for cleaning items. Hello. I need more choices (and more room) for all other things.
I've only been here 3x, but everytime I go here, I can't help feeling a bit stressful. It's like, I'm out there with my car(t) driving on the freeway, constantly maneuvering and trying to not hit people in the shins when I'm pushing my cart. The aisles are small, especially over at the grocery and household items where there is literally, two shopping carts crowding every aisle.
So what if I went on a Sunday? I needed my errands done. I was here on a weekday before, and it still had the same gazillion people and shopping carts in every aisle.
Target is the devil... and I love me some devil... LOL
You go here for one things and about $100 later.. you leave with all this cool things you didn't know you needed... minus the one item you had originally gone to get... so you go back... and spend some more $$$$$$!
I wish there was one closer, but i get why they don't have one in SF... I support mom and pop stores... but damn... anyone know what they are doing with the Mervyn's (RIP) store space once it is gone? Wouldn't a Target be cool???? WOW! It would ROCK!
Target is value and convenience. All of this wrapped up in really cool TV ads!
Oh Target... I am addicted to you.... my wallet hates you and loves you all at once!
Value: 5

Overall: 4.5
I really love target! They have everything here! I always come to this target instead of the one at serramonte because there is more parking here and this store has more products. I can shop in target for hours.. LOL (^_^)
I wish there was a 24 hour target!!!!
This one's OK... it's not anything special though. After coming from Best Buy down the road and not having any luck with what we were finding (a PS3 for my friend... I guess it's not that easy buying a new console there), we came to Target because at least we knew it was under lock and key in the electronics area. And it was there... it wasn't glowing or anything, but they had some in stock. And my friend was happy... at least I hope he was since he shelled out more than $500 on a console, a game, and a Blu-Ray movie.
Me, on the other hand, wasn't that impressed. First off, is the music selection at Target ALWAYS shitty? It was like that in Serramonte and it was like that here. When I'm even contemplating, "Wow, if I want music, even Rasputin is better," you KNOW something's wrong. However, the movie selection isn't that bad here. It looked like Best Buy had more titles, but the deals here were WAY better. Then again, we were going during a sale,so maybe that's why. But when I was looking at Best Buy stuff, the prices weren't the "best buy."
And when I can buy two TV-season DVD's for under $40, then something must be cool. Robot Chicken and Get Smart... what a pair!
And the board games section was better here than at Serramonte... not necessarily beaming like it was at Toys R Us (man, do I miss Toys R Us), but definitely better.
And the ghetto and white trash ratio wasn't TOO bad... though who the fuck goes to Target on Fridays at 9pm anyway? Then again, what the fuck were me and my friends doing there on Friday at 9pm? *lowers head in shame*
Like I said previously, I'm not totally into huge stores with everything... I would never buy clothing and groceries here... if I need to, though, I'd prefer here.
The store itself is great.....who doesn't love target???!
The service at the photo center here is horrible.....totally not friendly, had to keep getting the girl's attention because she would run away after I asked a question, the photo machine kept not working so I had to keep asking questions, and only received ~1-word answers. I told her I was in a semi-rush but she said my photos would be done in 30 min or less....so I took the time to wait and when I came back it was closed because she went on her break.... so after ALL that I didn't even get the pictures and I probably won't be back to this location for a long time. This person has no idea how to provide good customer service. I was also the only person there so it's not like she was overwhelmed with other customers.
I will still come here for my Target needs....but in no way am I motivated to return to this specific service.
I LOVE THIS LOCATION!
I mean nobody has to help me I know where everything is. Its a nice organized store where if someone ask me what area its in I be able to tell you.
I just like Target in general its where I can get everythin. Lines are long sometimes but I go to the jewlery counter they ring me up over there!
Dang I even know the hidden cash regs.
This is the nicest of the three Targets over in the (acute) Bermuda Triangle of Targets just South of SF. Head to Serramonte or Tanforan and you'll end up leaving with some stranger's dirty kid attached to your cart. Not to mention that people seem to confuse those locations with child care centers. I swear they should have a staff social worker on site.
This Target is more like my favorites in Walnut Creek and Marin but still not as nice (minus one star).
I'm not a huge fan of big discount department stores, but hey, I'm also an American. Occasionally when I'm out for the basics I head here or CostCo. This one is by far better than the other two nearby. Much quieter, but also smaller. It does kind of freak me out that there is a Target just on the other side of 280. There is also a PetSmart and The Home Depot nearby so if I'm in a bind for some supplies I can stop there also.
If you are an American senior citizen with a disability, then expect to be hustled into buying a costly defective tv/dvd combo and an additional so called 'extended service plan' which is worth a BIG ZERO. On one evening, I bought that and two Eddie Bauer air mattresses, one of which was also defective. Because I cannot locate the receipt and was stupid enough to pay cash, Target refuses to exchange or repair these items, and even though the date on the ESP shows my purchase, they still refuse. No one will give you his/her name and if you contact by phone, you get India...and good luck trying to understand them or making them understand you...Want a good deal, good customer service, and an excellent policy? TRY COSCO!
Sometimes there is a difference between this one and the one up the street. You could go to both in one day and find things cheaper in the Serramonte one instead of this one. But since they haven't changed the layout of this one since the Serramonte one came up, I can go through this store blindfolded. This store is easy to navigate and you could literally avoid places in here because it doesn't seem as interwoven as the Serramonte store where you just end up picking stuff that you love and "bump into it."
The parking here is good. I've never had a problem with parking here no matter where we go here whether if it's for Target, Bevmo or the other restaurants that surround Target.
This place is a lot quieter than Serramonte. I can actually think in this place but the cleanliness has gone downhill. It's like there was something wrong with the staff that they didn't know where to put sale items any more where i found the maternity clearance clothes mixed with some furniture or household items (yes household is a aisle away but they should be seperate).
This place used to be up a notch when this was the only Target around. But it has lost a little of its charm due to competition of the one nearby. It's not as neat, clean and uber-stylish as it used to be. A friend of mine used to work for Target and she used to rave about this place because it would get upgraded/restyled every 6 months or year. But that was like 5 years ago and much has changed since then.
But I still love Target and you can't stop me from going to this one to meander either =).
It's amazing! After my review about the '$1 or less' section, the sign is gone! I was in the Serramonte store. I was going to snatch a picture to add to this review. But it was no where to be found. So now I was on a mission.I go over to the Colma store. Yep, that sign is gone as well. I did notice a lot more $1.07 items and a couple of new $2.00 items! Oh well. everything else was fine at both locations.

So it's errand day today. Running from store to store and I might as well share my experiences with y'all.
I bought essentials here today, and the other half impulse buys. Target is getting really good with their merchandising, I think, as I don't usually impulse buy at all. Never mind half a cart full, to the tune of $150.
I also upped the star rating to a 4 from a 3 just because of the really good customer service I always get from the Filipina staff employee at the counters. Very nice, professional and friendly. Refreshing, compared to the rest of the shoppers.
I've been to many Targets in my time, but the one in Colma is just okay. Their selection of environmentally friendly cleaning products is not as vast as the Target in Foster City. And there have been times I have been to this store and they did not have something I needed (and yet was able to find at the Target in Tanforan). One time my husband and I wanted to purchase a Febreeze refill scent that the computer system did not have registered, so the cashier had us go to customer service to buy it. Once we were at customer service, the clerk said that he couldn't accept the return and we told him that we didn't want to return it; the item was on the shelf and we wanted to buy it. So the clerk said that he could not sell it to us because the item did not show up on the registers and we said, "Then why is it on the shelf. There are a lot of them." The clerk then told a manager who then said that they were going to take the item off the shelf. Stupid.
I come to this Target when I need something quick, but I'd rather go to Babies "R" Us down the street for baby stuff.
Target
My man
I'm telling you, ever since the large Gemco lost it's sign to Target, I've been a pretty loyal customer. Don't know if it's the ubiquitous signage or the overall large expanse of warehouse that was built to accommodate my big butt walking in through those double doors, but I've always felt relaxed shopping here.
In addition, I don't know why there are two Targets in such close proximity to each other. The other one, in "Daly City" is so packed and hell bent on squeezing the anorexia into people, that I've never gone back. Not to mention someone going ghetto on your ass about parking spaces and I don't feel inclined to host a verbal disagreement with someone wearing their hat on sideways and pants hanging around their ankles.
This Target is a Greatland, which means it has a larger foodstuff (refrigerated items too!) selection as well as a pharmacy and open late. Large open parking lot, roving patrols that I saw last night assist a senior citizen with hoisting a large box out of her car and into a cart (the customer service!) and not packed with people.
I ran in, grabbed my two tubes of Colgate Sensitive toothpaste, eye drops since I get dry eyed at times, some hair conditioner by Herbal Essence and Dove Body Oil Wash (dry skin, darn winter weather)........
I had several clerks ask me if I had any trouble finding anything and the 10 only checkout stand dude was very kind and it made my ho-hum Tuesday evening a little better.
I've been going to Target for many years now.
I generally have a better experience with this Target store compared to the one in Daly City. Their products are neater and more organized. The staff is more knowledgeable and helpful. And there are always enough check out counters open to keep the lines short.
I like going to Target for accessories like good quality hats, bags and belts that cost an arm and a leg elsewhere. Recently, I discovered that they also offer a tiny but reasonably-priced grocery section with great bargains. Their energy bars and sport drinks are a dollar or less a piece. And if you have more energy to take the trek upstairs in spite of the thick crowd this holiday season, the furniture section also offers quality, style and a good price.
The key to shopping here is understanding that they really do charge more for better quality items. Instead of going for the item with the lowest price tag (likely to break or chip-- for furniture), try buying on the high end of Target. You'll bring home a good quality product that you'll be happy with for a very long time.
It's Target to the recessionista's rescue.
Anya Hindmarch bags, Behnaz Sarafpour sweaters.
Alexander McQueen coming in April 2009.
Guilt free and fabulous.
out of the three major budget department stores, Target would have to be my favorite... they carry pretty much everything that K-Mart and Wal-Mart do, it just seems a little nicer... but of course, nicer means more expensive...
Came here to pick up some household goods... in and out in a quick minute... customer service was good and the lines went pretty fast...
Please explain to me why there are 2 ginourmous Target stores literally across the freeway from each other?!?!?!?
Can I say that I LOVE this Target?? About a month ago, I bought my Rock Band set for the PS3 here. I've only played with the guitar a few times (cuz the drums are easier on the arms) and the guitar all of a sudden stopped working. I tried everything, but couldn't revive it. So I called this location since I bought it here. After the operator transferred me to the electronics department, I spoke to a young guy over the phone. Explaining my problem only took about a minute. He told me to just bring it in. I was like, really? That's all I have to do?
Skeptical that any exchange would be THIS painless, I brought my guitar in right away. I was expecting to be interrogated and then sent home, having them tell me that the guy I spoke to over the phone didn't really work there and ultimately, I'd have to call EA to make the exchange (if even possible). Much to my pleasant surprise, the guy I spoke to over the phone took my guitar, escorted me to the returns department and explained what needed to be done to another customer service rep. He then brought over a brand new box and they gave me a new guitar!
Chivalry DOES still exist! Thank you, Target!!
Stopped by here to grab some floss and some stain remover after hitting up Gorilla Bbq when all of a sudden b4 getting ready to pay, I hear my stomach bubbling. Warning don't drink iced starbucks coffee b4 eating BBQ. So I rushed to the bathroom and found three empty stalls. It took me three times to find the one without the trick locking mechanism for stall door. Ge'ez. Can't I just close the door and lock it. I was in a rush and turning those knobs quickly wouldn't lock the damn door. Luckily I was able to lock my door and relieve my bubble guts before soiling my new jeans. Good thing I didn't make a mess-their toilets clean up real well. Whew!!!
