I really have no negative criticism about this Target; its wonderful. I cant really comment on the employees' behavior, I could almost swear they don't understand English.

I love Target, but this is a sorry excuse for one. I attend CUNY Brooklyn, which is about a block away from this Target, so it's really too bad I wont be going back!

From the outside, it looks to be a elegant 2 story Target, but once you enter you are greeted by Employees sitting around doing nothing, trash cans overflowing, and trash all over the floors. My girlfriend and I literally made it halfway through and left out of disgust. It's also sad this is one of the few Target's in NYC. It's clear all of their investing in NYC goes to advertising in Times Square for their over sized takeover of billboards and building side ads. You advertise here enough, so how about a Target in Manhattan!!???...............Shame on you Target corp.

If you are looking for your Target Fix, go to Jersey City.

I like this one way better then atlantic terminal . I guess since they are still new, they have more products and the shelves are stocked. Still have rude employees though. I wonder if it's the pay or it's because most of them are still in High School.

I am only reviewing this Target as of now because when it first appeared, I could have written a review and gotten a "1st to review" (!!!!) but I decided to leave it be.  It was nice being one of the few who actually knew this Target existed and was open for business, and I wanted to keep it that way.  While it's not as good as your average Target, it is an amazing improvement over the one at Atlantic Ave.  It's a bitch to get to via public transport, but it isn't as...dirty as the first BK location.  It has a larger food section, but it's too far away from my apartment to buy anything refridgerated or frozen.  It's nice though to pop over in between classes to get some shampoo and body wash for about $2 less each than they cost at any Duane Reade.  I can't comment on the parking situation because I pay $81 for my monthly metrocard and that's how I get everywhere.
If you spend too much time walking around in Target buying cheap stuff you don't need and you get hungry, skip the Pizza Hut and walk down Ave H towards Brooklyn College and grab a bite at the chicken place.  It's awesome.  Otherwise it's not too far of a walk to DiFara's...

New York and big chain department stores just don't get along. Not only will most denizens of the city cringe at the idea of a Wal-Mart springing up in their neighborhood (Martha Stewart's dishes? No thank you!), but it seems that these stores equally hate New York as well. I've been to both K-Marts in Manhattan, the Target in Queens, and the Target on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn and can say that all of those are hell on earth.

So when I moved into the sublet and had a list of things I needed to get, I was dreading going shopping. While I normally don't visit these stores, the fact that I could get 80% of what I needed at once place instead zigzagging around was undeniably appealing. While I was dragging my feet, not wanting to revisit the Target on Atlantic Avenue, I realized that there was a closer Target nearby... just a couple of stops away from where I was on the 2 line.

I have to say, the Flatbush Target is the nicest chain department store of its kind in the city. While it's not perfect, it is more well stocked, cleaner, and more organized than the rest. And on some good days, they even have decent customer service. While it's a complete war zone in the Atlantic Avenue target, with your having to fight a grandmother for the last roll of toilet paper, the Flatbush Target surprisingly had nearly everything I needed (no mothballs; my roommate also tells me that they ran out of air conditioners when she went). If you come here early in the morning, the people are friendly, there's no obnoxious high school kids, no mothers toting all their children, and no lines.

Dare I say it? It's almost... pleasant shopping here.

I'm assuming that you've been to a Target before or at least know what it has, so I don't need to give details. Simply, it has a lot of stuff. What sets this branch off (other than the cleanliness and availability of products) is that it also has a Starbucks and a Pizza Hut inside. Whoo! Chain stores inside a chain store! That's like... eerily like a suburban mall. How creepy! How fascinating!

Anyways, I'm not going to knock on this store. Sometimes, you do need a one stop store for everything, and if it has to be a chain department store, I'm glad that it's this Target... too bad it's in Flatbush and nearly inaccessible to most of the city... but then again, I guess it's the lack of city folks that makes it tolerable.

Somebody please do something about Target stores in Brooklyn! I'm sorry but they are HORRIBLE! Maybe even the head of the corporate already gave up on them.Same story here, products are still way understacked & disorganized (well far better than the one in Atlantic Avenue), extremely rude employees (I doubt they ever got "trained" for their jobs); whom most of them were busy joking around with each other instead of "working", dont forget they are also extremely slow. It should never take FOREVER to SCAN an item and put it into the plastic bag. It seemed like those people didnt want to do their work so they were just filling up time they were required to do. Isnt it common sense to do a job LITTLE FASTER when you see long lines. It's either they see it and they dont give a crap or they dont see it and still dont give a crap.  I love Target but I'd rather shop online or go to the one in Long Island or New Jersey to get my Target fix. :D

While not as good as your typical Target in the 'burbs so far this one beats the one off the belt except you can't shimmy over to Babies R Us if something is out of stock.  The store is bigger, they seem to be stocking more (except for that Sony portable DVD player we needed), the sale section is just asking to clutter up my house, and things look neater and cleaner than I'm use to at a Brooklyn Target. Let's hope it lasts.

I guess Kings Plaza got us Brooklyners use to paying to park at places so we can have the privilege of shopping there so I won't harp on that, but how about some working machines to pay at?

What is up with the exit? I push my cart through the checkout only to come to a window overlooking the urban life of Flatbush Avenue. Where is the genius architect that has me u-turning back through the store to wait on line while security is braiding each other's hair instead of matching my cart to my receipt. I'd like to thank him.

In this zip code it is unacceptable that there are no kosher food options. Many Icees flavors are kosher (they licensed their recipes to 7-11 Slurpees long ago) and according to OU they'd just have to show us the symbol on the syrup package but here that is no dice.

Already this place has become an after school hangout. Perhaps a little caged section could be arranged for these children to give the shoppers some breathing room? They could put it behind checkout near the Flatbush Avenue Promenade.

I'll be there tomorrow searching for a Bjorn little potty in green or yellow, some 3/4 tops, a glass for holding olive oil, nursing bras, and toys.  Should the stock stink or the parking paying machines disappoint I'll be back to take away stars.

Edit 6/6/2008 Down to two stars Target, you're down to two stars.

I am a former Target-addict. Living in NY has really kept me out of the store. Why?
1.The Target at Atlantic Center is a joke. The staff is rude, the lines are long, the shelves are empty, the merchandise is always out of stock...
2. It's freakin' New York. There are hundreds of other places to find cute shit for a good price.... but none are this convenient.

So when I found out a new Target opened in Flatbush, I was happy because I knew it would be like the Targets of the suburbs... full of shit I don't need but am going to buy anyway because it's cute & affordable. Really, Target turns me into greedy American unconscious consumer like no place. Not proud of it exactly, but I mean, it is what it is.
The new Target is everything the one on Atlantic isn't - clean, neat, well-stocked, with a nice staff and no lines. And this was on a sunny Saturday afternoon.
Oh, I hope it lasts.

Picked over. Chaotic. Disorganized shoe section.  All signs that the city needs another Target.
