When I came here 2-3 years ago, they were very nice. I came here to find a pair of glasses, my first pair actually. It's kind of hard for me to rate this place because when I came here, I had no idea what to expect out of glasses or what I was looking for. I was only instructed to wear them for school and for the movies, which I took to meant didn't really matter what I was about to purchase because I wasn't going to be wearing it often.

I only dealt with one of the opticians (Elise, i think). She was very nice though. She didn't rush me but she did try to help me pick out a pair. Her taste, well, let's just say they did not match mine. I'm not exactly sure whether it was cause I didn't know what to expect but the glasses all felt kind of the same and nothing really wowed me. I ended up picking a pair of coach glasses that were just whatever on me.

My insurance barely covered anything and I ended up having to pay i think about 300-400 bucks out of my own pocket.

I recently lost my pair of glasses. I don't even know how it happened. I've been trying to find cheap places, and lenscrafters only charges 100 for a comprehensive exam but the reviews on here about their service scares the living daylights out of me, so i may just come back here to do the exam for 15 dollars more. or 55 more since they don't offer a prescription only exam.

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, because I need these glasses for driving and to see in class. So i need something quick, but at the same time i want to get good prices because i no longer have insurance. I may end up purchasing my glasses from here again or i may shop around. We'll see.

All in all, this place has great customer service. I may come back here to get my glasses just because of that. My prescription worked out great. Everything was on time. There were no problems.

This place was great.!  I was greeted and the exam started on time.  Dr. Low was very nice, patient and efficient.  Gave me the option to get glasses there or not - I never felt pressure.  They had all my insurance confirmed and only charged me for the balance.  They took the time to help me pick out frames that were right for my face (can't remember her name, Eliza maybe?) and in my price range.  All good -- I'm giving the number to my husband to make his appt too!!

Um, yeah. So they make you feel welcome.

But I also failed to mention how they made me pay for my eye care upfront AND THEN they said they would send in the claim to my insurance.
I had never dealt with optometry places before, so I figured this was standard.
I found out, not so much.
Turns out my insurance wouldn't cover any of it because of a small misunderstanding.
Any other vision place will check to make sure you're covered beforehand - not so here.

I ended up with a huge credit card bill that I will not only have to repay, but will also have to cover the interest for the three months I had the debt idling in wait for them.

The people here are nice, yes, but this experience really blew my chances of coming back. No other place would ever make someone pay up front, and would hardly, if ever, fail to check insurance coverage.

Dr low and dr wong are both awesome! So are jonie and Marie (although I don't know if Marie is still there). I've been coming here for years and I get great service everytime. They are all very nice and friendly and they seem to know me on an individual basis everytime I stop by or an appointment.

I HEART Dr. Stacie Lo, who has been my optometrist for many years.  Aside from being smart and really thorough, she's a total sweetheart.

She recommended that I get lasik and it turned out great...

But beforehand I was so nervous and called her to vent about the consultation experience; she was so great about chatting with me and setting my fears to rest.

Then the night before my surgery she called me to check up on how I was doing, if I was nervous, etc.!  It's amazing that a doctor would do that.  That's how it should be.

I have been going to Taravel Eye Care for some time now. Dr. Wong and Dr. Low are great doctors. Both are very friendly, knowledgeable, and patient.

The staff is also very friendly and will tackle any problems or questions you may have regarding your insurance or coverage. They have quite a nice selection of frames.

it's too bad they don't carry much sunglasses. I would love to pick up some nice shades from them.

I've been coming here for a couple of years now and I really like coming here! The staff is super nice and knowledgable and very helpful! I knew Dr. Wong for almost more than half my life! I love their selections of frames too.. it may be expensive because they only carry brand names but I think its so worth it! I got some coach frames and I love them.. the staff there helped me picked them out too! =)

This place is the best.
In concurrence with Eric G., I would have never been able to wear contacts if somebody did not spend two days training (read: putting up with) me.
This was amazing because I was really afraid of "touching" my eye.
Now I can put my contacts on in about 2 minutes.

Dr. Stacie Low is the best. Not only is she pretty, but she's really nice too. The staff is great and I've been coming here for over two years. Their opticians are really cool too. They will fix your dented glasses for free (if you are a patient there, that is). Also, everytime I go for a checkup Dr. Low always gives me free travel-sized contact lenses solution. How great is that????

I've got to give this place 5 stars for service and extreme patience.

Dr. Wong discovered my old prescription was a little too strong in one eye and a little weak in the other.  She sat with me and took the time to answer all my questions, complete with demonstrations.

The best feature of their service contact lens training.  Training is important when your eyelids are sensitive and you're a little squeamish about jabbing a little fleck of plastic in your eye.

I've been going to Taraval Eye Care for almost eight years and even though I don't live in the City any more, I make the drive for my yearly appointment. I've seen both doctors and they are very thorough and have great bedside manner. I'm a little squeamish about medical stuff but they take their time to make sure I'm comfortable.

I just got hooked up with some sweet NIke Specs, at a good price, and with a sweet warranty. They  Doctor's and Eye Care help are totally awesome. Plus, they're right around the corner.
