mmm CARNITAS burrito! This place has the best Carnitas!
Be aware that they sometimes are out.
Their super nachos, salsa and chicken enchiladas are a few other favorites.

The car line gets pretty long at times but theyre usually out  there taking your order.

I love Taqueria Senaida's! My family and I have been going here for years!!! Come one now you can't say no to a drive thru taqueria. Now. . . if they only had carne asada fries!

Maybe it's because I'm from Hayward, it's my hood. So I don't think this place is ghetto, well not to my standards at least. But the food is bomb. and their salsa is the BEST, hands down. We buy it in big ass cups and it lasts for a good two weeks. I love the Super Burrito, but I usually gotta share it. Their horchata is good here too!

But if you're cravin their bomb ass food, make sure you get line up before six pm. and the service is fast. so don't worry if you end up waiting by the stoplight in your car. it's worth it!

THIS PLACE IS SUPER YUMMY!  I love authentic, homemade food (any kind) and this is authentic, homemade Mexican food!  I usually get their Happy Burritos or Veggie Burritos and they're so big that it lasts me a dinner and lunch the following day.

It's cash only and it's drive-thru.  The service is good, not the most friendly, but they are efficient.

I have to try their Horchata...sounds like the other reviewers give it a thumbs-up!  :)  ENJOY!

OK, for my boyfriend's sake (I lost a bet) I have to write a review for this place.

I usually HATE driving to Hayward. No offense to everyone that's from there or lives there (my man is from there) but whenever we go it's either HELLA cramped in the streets or there's some sort of police activity going on. It makes a 30 minute task take at least an hour... I HATE that. Then again, it may just be my luck.

Anyway, I was craving flautas SOOOOOOOOO bad on the weekend. When I told my BF his eyes lit up and he said he wanted to share this place in his "hood" with me :). He told me it was in Hayward so I started complaining about how long it would take but since I wanted my craving to be satisfied AND since my man's stomach knows some good eatin I figured what the hell.....

YES this place is BOMB! We waited for a minute just chillin in the jeep but it was well worth it :). The portions were HUGE and I've never seen a flauta loaded with that much avocado and sour cream. Can I get a HELL YEAH?! HELL YEAH. so so so so good.... even thinking about it makes me wanna drive over there!!

So Senaida's not only satisfied my craving but it also dispelled my reservations about driving to Hayward! Lol. Definitely holler at this place.

Hole-in-the-wall joints are my favorite dives, and I've been grabbing burritos from this joint for years. Obviously, I never get tired of them.

Senaida's was the first drive-thru taqueria I ever went to. It's situated on a small lot on Tennyson Rd. in Hayward, so yeah, this place IS 'hood life. But who gives a damn when the food rocks?!

The burritos are huge; I recommend a super with carnitas (marinated pork), but their chicken is just as good.

The super nachos are hard to finish, but worth the try.

Another thing I like there are the steak soft tacos. They serve them up on regular-sized corn tortillas, and all it is is tons of steak and guacamole. Awesome! These babies are hot, so don't burn yourself!

It's difficult to rate Mexican taquerias because they basically serve all the same food. So all you have left to rate is service, location and overall experience. The same guy has been at the drive-thru window since I was a kid, and he is still as emotionless as ever (you're not sure whether he hates you or not). The only thing that brings down Senaida's is its hours of operation; these guys close way too early for having a drive-thru  window. But I guess when you're operating on Tennyson in Hayward, that's more a safety precaution than convenience for the owner.

Yeah, it's hood as fu*k, but I LOVE this place, man.   The only other spot that can compare (drive thru taqueria) is Lucy's in LA (La Brea).   The Tacos, served spicy, are DEEEE-licious.  The burritos are tough to finish in one serving, but if you're hungry (or high) enough, it shouldn't be an issue.  Their salsa is FIRE...yet still very tasty...You really can taste every ingredient in this stuff.

If this place ever closes down, it would be quite tragic.

My favorite super burrito place in the entire bay area.   I live in san bruno and used to travel here just to get burritos when I couldn't fight the craving.  the flavor is awesome, from first to last bite, you cannot get tired of it.   the chicken super is what I mostly get, although sometimes I alternate with carne asada which seems to be either flank or skirt steak.  thier guac is one of a kind.  Prices are very affordable 5 to 5.50 for supers.  Conveniently has a drive thru although it can get crowded.  The walk up window usually is not so crowded.  you will not be sorry going here.  If it is your first time, you will definately be here many times after that.  Mostly a take out joint, except they have one outdoor table with 3 or 4 seats.

Well what can I say about this joint.
Personally, I think Mexican Food  is all the same. You got your beans, rice, choice of meat, tortilla, cheese and all the other random stuff. Question is, how many foods can you make out of these items? Answer is a whole lotta. You got your Tacos Burritos Enchiladas Quesadillas Beans Beans Beans......Blah Blah Blah..
But this place is alrite. In the burritos, they throw in shredded cheese so it melts by the time you dig in. I usually get a beef burrito with no beans. Tacos are ok, a little bigger than usual. They also have nachos but dont recommend it. They melt real shredded cheese on the tortilla chips, not a fan. I rather go to the Oakland Coliseum Flea Market and get the Super Nachos there in the Dome.

I like the drive thru and the walk up window. There's usually a line for the drive thru at lunch though.
If you really want good mexican, head to the town east oakland at the 23rd taco truck. Tacos and burritos on hit status. I recommend el lengua burrito con no frijoles.

Food: Its ok if your really hungry.

Service: Quick and Nice.

I only go for one thing, and that is the bean, rice and cheese burrito...the best beans!

Their meat isnt the greatest and neither is their salsa, but man oh man can they make a killer bean rice and cheese burrito, and they are big and very filling...i never finish them! For like $3.50.

Convenient drive through, but just dont go if you are in a hurry between 12:00 and 1:00 the line of cars is down the street!

Best Burritos EVER!!! My fav: the happy, chicken burrito.

Cash only.

This is a TAKE OUT drive thru or a walk up to the window kind of restaurant.

Only go when the sun is still out. I don't recommend this you be in this area at night.

people who like nachos should get it here. they  make their own chip.(meatless, 3.45?) there are also many combos for 6.90.

had a carnitas burrito (5.06)it was mildly tastely mostly bland.  it was a pretty good sized burrito. no sauce or condiments came with it.

Because of Yelp, I broke my weekday meat fast at this place today.

I had the Happy burrito with Carne Asada, my first bite was nothing but lukewarm shredded iceberg lettuce; a staple when it comes to Hayward Taco Trucks (not necessarily a good thing).  I was not impressed.  But as I was finishing the burrito, it got better and better.  The Carne Asada was flavorful, I don't know what they marinated it with but it's a taste that I haven't encountered anywhere else.  The Sour Cream/Crema Fresca was not bland and neither was the rice.  In fact, it tasted good.

My only real gripe is the lettuce and when I ordered the burrito "spicy," it wasn't that spicy.  Definitely worth breaking the meat fast.

I can't believe I've driven past this place all these years.

After reading up on yelp about this place, I had my hubby get some for me and yes the reviews were right.  Great stuff, I'm hooked on the carne asada happy burrito and have not tried anything else (other than spicy and not spicy and I rather have the non-spicy).  I will have to try some of the other items on the menu after I get sick of eating the happy burrito.

I've been coming here for 15+ years and EVERY time, I get their chicken enchiladas.  I mostly get single...double is reserved for those special days with intense cravings.

The chicken enchiladas are covered with gooey cheese.  So much gooey cheese that you can mix it with your side of rice to turn your rice into a gooey masterpiece.  The other side is refried beans topped with melted white cheese (forget what kind).  I also mix their salsa in with everything.  Remember to ask for it because sometimes they may skip out on giving it to you.

I've gotten the super burrito & nachos once.  The nachos are topped with their version of guacamole which is really weird.  It resembles a thin, abnormally smooth & green sauce.

Senaida's - best burritos in the Bay Area!!!
My favorite is the carne asada burrito, I like mine with beans, rice, sour cream and chile jalapenos..OOhhh it's making my mouth water.
*I think the secret to these burritos are the beans, I believe they make them the authentic way ,which is with lard.
Really recommend! :)

I love this place. They remind me of the "soup-nazi" from Seinfeld, cuz they're all rude and they know they're really good, and if you want great, inexpensive mexican food, this is the place. Senaida's is a drive-thru only on Tennyson. It's easy to pass by the place, cuz of poor signage. I always order the super steak burrito. I've tried all of them, and they're all tasty. Since, I work down the street from the eatery, is the only reason why I patronize them. Otherwise, you would never catch me driving thru the hood.

Went here for the 1st time last Saturday.  It was hard to find and we had to circle the block a couple of times and actually turned into the scary (and I mean scary) strip mall across the street before we spotted it.  I went with Yelpers' recommendations and my husband and I both had their Happy Burrito with steak.  I also asked for extra salsa.  Can I say "YUMMY!"?  I'm more of a taco person and don't usually order burritos because I've never had a good one.  I've been converted.  I agree with Jackie S.  Definitely the BEST burritos I've ever had.  Will be back again... to try other things on their menu (maybe the enchiladas or the nachos).  If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!

A couple other reasons for the 5 stars: the drive-thru and fast service.

UPDATE (7/3/07)
Was craving some Mexican food today and decided to try something else from Senaida's.  I ordered a double chicken enchilada.  Yum-o!  They weren't stingy with the meat and I loved the melted cheese over the refried beans.  Got extra salsa again and this time it seemed to have more kick.  :)  Love (love, love, love) that it's close by home.

If you're ever in Hayward this is the place  to get some good mexican food. I recommend the Happy Burrito... it has everything you'd imagine a TRUE super burrito would have. The only reason why I'd dock off one star, is the fact that it's a drive-thru (and take out... but most people use the drive thru) so there is always a reallllllllly long line... sometimes cars would fill up a 1/4 of Tennyson Rd, so drivers would have to swirve around them... not exactly safe, if you ask me. With that being the only negative... this is definitely a place to try out :)

Through all my Mexican food experiences no place could top Taqueria Senaida's burritos. I mean NO PLACE. The burritos are just too damn good its almost impossible for any taqueria to be at its level. Their super burritos are massive and it's priced reasonably. The super burritos are really cheesy and packed with your choice of meat and once you bite into the burrito you'll just want to savor that moment.

My friends claimed that La Victoria's at San Jose has the best burritos. hahaha. very funny. best burritos my ass. Nothing can compete with Taqueria Senaidas. Even if their workers don't smile, their burritos are still damn too good!!! Perhaps nothing can top Senaidas, until then I'll be searching...

man i can go for some Senaida burritos right now, too bad they close early : P

One of the few places you could go to get great quality burrito, and not some monsterous flour tortilla log filled with typical bland filler..There's something abou thte flavor of these burritos that make this place so significant.  Their superb burrito is sure to satisfy ( I prefer the Carne Asada) and they prepare these burritos to perfection!  Only drawback to this place is that, like the taco trucks in da hood, it's a walk/drive thru place.  There is a short brick wall to sit on if you wanna eat it there, and they still have that one cheap plastic table that seats 4.  I just got home from eating there and man, I missed this place so much I even ordered a SECOND carne asada super burrito and damn near killed THAT on the way home!  Geez I'm a Notorious P.I.G.

I don't get it. Maybe I order the wrong things - nachos, quesadilla ... but I do not like this place :( I feel guilty because of all the great reviews. I think they use poor quality ingredients (the guacamole looks like it's made by Kraft) and way too expensive for what you get. I like Los Compadres better, also in Hayward.

Didn't know there was no restaurant (actual places to sit and eat inside) so I went to the walk-through part and ordered. Next time I am gonna be doing the drive-through. Quick service- our burritos were ready in 3 minutes. Pretty good stuff, love the sour cream and guacamole and the saucy rice. The hot sauce is not too spicy, which is good.

I went here based on the great reviews it received on this site, and so I had high expectations (maybe too high?). I ordered a chicken super burrito and was disappointed. Sure, the sauce that they give you on the side is great, but without it, the burrito is quite bland. My favorite burrito is at the Los Compadres Taco Truck (but it's in San Francisco).

I grew up in Hayward, and if you wanted a fat, tasty burrito, you went to Senaida's. We went here for lunch a lot in high school, even though the line for the drive thru might be ridiculous and we'd barely have enough time to eat.

I remember they had some weird names for their burritos, but the "happy" burrito was one of my favorites (because it made my belly happy, haha). The biggest drawback is that they basically close at sunset and it gets pretty busy at lunchtime.

Best burritos I've ever had, hands down. Probably the best in the East Bay, but I haven't exactly sampled a lot of other places. Why would you, when you know about Senaida's?

This is a great walk up/drive thru taqueria.  It's in a somewhat busted part of town but aren't all the good taquerias?  The carne asada is always tasty here.  It's never been dry or chewy when I've had it.  My favorite is the all meat burrito.  I always add cheese and sour cream though.  One thing to note is they use cheese sauce on their nachos instead of shredded cheese.

Quick, tasty Mexican food.

The drive-thru is ingenious. When the line is long, they take your order while the cars are lined up and as you pull up to the window to pay, your order is ready.
The chicken "Happy" burrito is great- a big filling burrito that comes with cheese and all the standard fillings. You can also ask them to make it "spicy." And at under $6, it's also a bargain.

And don't forget it's cash only.

Heard about this one by word of mouth, but now make a special trip all the way across Hayward for my mexican food fix!!!!  (and I pass dozens of other opportunities to get here).... A guy that worked for my husband insisted he try this place and we've been going back ever since.

LOVE the carne asada... AND the owner's mother does handmade tamales- available on the weekends in batches by special orders... YUM!!!!

Definitely worth the trek to get there....
