My carne asada fries were just okay to me. :( I was a little disappointed. After eating about 1/3 I felt like I'd gained 15 pounds, I'm telling you... it's just that heavy. I give another star for the fish tacos. :) But I think I'm being modest because I am in love with fish tacos.
I like this place cuz of it's name. I love Las Vegas! Does this have anything to do with the restaurant? NO! Did I factor the name into the star-rating? NO! Ok moving on then...
I came here for one reason (besides the name) and that was the carne asada fries. I swear I would fly down to San Diego just to eat their carne asada fries (and go to Comicon! I love that too!). But yelping carne asada fries brought me here instead.
The fries start off good but they get soggy near the end. IMO, The best places in San Diego start off crispy and somehow magically (as if there's a barrier of crispiness around them) they ward off evil sogginess and stay fresh til the end! I was sad because the main "attraction" of the place to me didn't turn out as fantastically delicious as I was expecting it to.
But on another note, this was the first place I tried a lengua taco and it was amazing! So I will still hold this place dear to my heart because it introduced me to that. Just a heads up though to summarize, don't get your hopes up too high for their carne asada fries, but there are plenty of other options they offer that do hit the spot just as well :)

Try the carne asada fries... it's crazy but there are other joints that make them better. The food overall is mediocre. Service can be slow at times and the feel of the restaurant is kinda weird.
I was hoping to find a nice hole in the wall spot in the middle of no where in Fremont but find a failure.
Food = FAILED (Prices are ok if like grade C meat)
Service = Double FAILED!! If you are going to answer your business phone while taking my order at least apologize or excuse yourself first. How rude!
Atmosphere = Triple FAILED!! Turn down the f-ing music. If I wanted to hear some Tex-Mex I would have gone to a disco tech. People are trying to have conversations while eating, not do the Mexican hat dance.
My bowels = Stomach is crying. I haven't stopped farting since I got home. =(

The food here is great. I've been to the Milpitas location quite a bit but have been frequenting this one more as of late. I've eaten at my fair share of taquerias, (I am by no means the authority on Mexican cuisine) and this is one of the better ones I've been to. Clean restaurant, speedy service, chip and salsa bar, and self serve horchata!!!
I give Taqueria Las Vegas 3.5 stars.
Recomendations: Shrimp and fish tacos, carne asada fries and horchata.
I became fixated the other day on searching for a local establishment that offers carne asada fries. My search has ended, thanks to Yelp! The Fremont location is a nice upgrade from the Milpitas one. Huge, self serve chips & salsa, self serve sodas and aguas frescas, & a full bar. My hubby and I each ordered a wet burrito. MIne had carnitas with salsa verde, his was a super with chicken and red salsa. Of course we also had the carne asada fries. Holy moley, the burritos were gargantuan, Being that we were both starving, we each probably only ate 1/4 of our our burrito, and couldn't finish the fries. The fries were actually just ok. I've had better. I think they should change their fries to the thinner shoestring variety. Either way, it still satisfied my craving. My burrito was awesome. The carnitas were cooked to my liking, crispy edges, and tender meat. The salsa verde could stand to be a littler spicier. Josh of course had nothing to say about his burrito, but he never has anything to say about food. According to him, food is merely fuel. I beg to differ. One star taken away for the watery horchata, another taken away for the lack of staff. The poor cashier was also the buser and waitress. A star given back for the cantelope juice. Who cares if it may or not have been made from powder. It's was so good, and way better than making it yourself. Fellow filipinos know how labor intensive it is to make fresh cantelope juice, well back before juicers were invented! Overall, I will definitely be back to try their tacos.

*I need to thank the beautiful Mimi and Seong for the 411 on the fact this place has Carne Asada fries!
Being that I've only been here once and it was a take out order right in the middle of the lunch rush, this review is more about announcing that they have honest to goodness Carne Asada Fries on their menu. Not the best carne asada fries I've ever had but definitely passable. They were a bit light on the cheese and heavy on the guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo (i actually asked them for no pico de gallo) but you can scrape the extra stuff off if it's too much for your tastes.
This place is located out in an industrial area just across the street from the NUMMI plant, which I'm sure keeps them busy during the weekday lunch hour. It's pretty sizable and looks very clean. They had a very decent sized bar and I saw a banner that announced a happy hour that starts at 2pm.
I'm going to give their carne asada fries another shot, but I'll make sure to try to come during off hours or early in the day when they should have the freshest carne asada.

Okay so they have this delicious creation called CARNE ASADA FRIES. It's probably one of the most amazing meals I've ever had. (No exaggeration).
Free chips and salsa. Free refills on aguas frescas. Oh and a FULL bar! So freakin' cool for a Mexican place!
I can't wait to go back for my next CAF-induced coma! YUM!
*Minus one star for being a little too anxious to get us out of there (an hour before closing), and beginning to wipe down our table while we were still sitting at it.

Taqueria LV is a short drive from my place of employment, so my co-workers and I come here for lunch sometimes. I appreciate the fact that we are able to call in our order and it's ready in 15 minutes (just enough time to finish up whatever work I have and drive down there), prepared accurately. I usually get the Taco Salad, 86 frijoles. The shell is crunchy, not soggy and oily, and the taco meat is seasoned well. My co-workers are fans of the burritos and taquitos. You serve yourself with chips and salsa (it's good!!).
As for the carne asada fries, they're ok. I think that the ones from Lolita's in San Diego is many moons better (I think it's because of the fries), but Taqueria LV's version passes just because of proximity.
I plan on coming here for happy hour in the future, just to take advantage of the full bar.
The food is ok... The pricing is ok... The horchata is yummy... The salsa bar is also ok...
I've tried a regular chicken burrito, which was pretty good. The cheese quesadilla wasn't what I expected... The super nachos with chicken was just ok. The chicken on it was good, but the rest of it didn't taste that great. The chips of the nachos were not crispy, and not soggy, but chewy and kind of hard.
The place is clean and very roomie. The bar section has a pool table.
The one thing I have not had a good experience with was the customer service... I've been here 3 times, and each time a different woman has taken my order, but the attitudes were all the same... I would greet them with a great big dorky smile and hello as I approached the counter, only for one woman to change her once smile to a big frown... Why? :( The people who were preparing and cooking the food were friendly. However, the women who work at the counter were not very nice... I would smile... Say hello... Speak politely... Smile again... Not even a smirk... When my orders were taken, the women acted kind of annoyed, almost like I was irritating them... All of the times I've been there, it was not busy, nor did I take too long to place my order, so it could not have been because I was holding up the line...
All in all, I'd give Taqueria Las Vegas a 2.5.

I actually think the food here is very good for the price. Sure there are better Taqueria choices all over the South Bay, but for Fremont, it's pretty dang good. I don't have any real complaints about the food. You get what you pay for. Free chips and salsa keeps my grumbling stomach happy while I'm waiting for them to make my food. I've deducted 1 star for the overall quality of the food, and another one off that for the utterly unremarkable service I normally receive. I've gone in there a couple of times when the co-owner of the restaurant (also related to the one in Milpitas) happened to be working the cashier. He's actually very friendly and we've struck up conversations while I've been waiting for my food. However, this is the exception. In particular, there is a snooty young girl working there that normally takes my order if I go there in the evenings, and she has got to be the most unfriendly cashier I've ever encountered in my life! She has absolutely no personality! I'll say hi with a big smile every time, and never once has she even slightly attempted to be friendly. Not only that, but sometimes she's even eating something while she's taking my order, or she'll interrupt me right in the middle of taking my order to take a phone order...not even put the caller on hold, she'll take their full order right in front of me! My very first job was as a McDonald's cashier...shittiest job ever, but I was still friendly to everybody. This girl should not be dealing with customers!
my favorite Taqueria now in the Fremont area. I usually stop by this place when I'm going or coming back from the San Jose area which is often at time. The Carne Asada fries are very unique and yummy and I usually get them for co-workers or friends and they absolutely love them! I've had everything from the tacos, burritos, enchiladas , camarones a la diabla, to the ceviche. Everything is quality and it's large nice venue.

A pretty decent place inside, fairly reasonable values with their pricing. But I don't know I just didn't love the taste of the burrito I had. And at the end of the day, that's what it's about.
I only went to Taqueria Las Vegas once. Honestly speaking Super Taco is kind of a hard place to beat with their combination of great taste and super crazy value. I would probably rate them a 3 anywhere else, but in the same town as Super Tac, they need to up their game.
my bro discovered this place cuz his band practices nearby. seriously i died and went to heaven. i am a taqueria connoisseur of sorts and this place has the flavors on LOCK. i got the super burrito with carnitas, wet style with green sauce. holy crap the thing weighed at least 3 pounds and was the tastiest thing i have ever consumed, im getting hungry just thinking about it. tangy sauce, monterey jack cheese, fresh tomato cilantro onion and guacamole to top off the flavor-packed carnitas. i cant wait to go back here.

Free refills on the juices, free everything, it's clean, the food is good and includes San Diego style Mexican as well.
Yes it's not fine dining but you got to rate things on some sort of formula of quality of food & service versus the price, so that you don't end up expecting fine dining at McDonalds.

I've only eaten here twice so far, but so far I love it! A friend recommended their carne asada fries to me and I tried it out; they're realllllly good! The price is okay (about 7 bucks for the fries) and the portion is huge. You could probably share this with 1-2 people. I have yet to try the rest of their food but I'm sure it's great!
Free chips....WHAT?!?!?!....Free slasa bar......WHAT?!?!?.....Free refills on the aguas frescas.....WHAT?!?!?!....HUH?!?!?.....CARNE ASADA FRIES.....MUTHA EFFIN WHAT?!?!?!?!? Ok guys most places have free chips and and a free salsa bar but how many places really have free refils on the aguas frescas and carne asada fries(no not free refillls on the fries, just the fact that they have them) Dude?!?!? C'mon. The food is good and the place is clean. It looks like they change their happy hour times from 2-6 everyday instead of M-F. Oh they also have a full bar too.
Taqueria ordering style with a somewhat sit down ambiance. I'd say it's one of those hybrid type places. It's pretty large, and despite the semi old looking exterior, it's super clean and fairly new on the inside. They have some TV's and a full bar area to the back also. You go to the counter after looking at the long selection of choices on the overhead menus and order like at most taquerias. Someone then calls your number and then brings you your food.
My bar repeatedly for Taquerias are the soft tacos. They had a pretty extensive selection of meats and I settled for four tacos with tripitas (tripe), carnitas (roasted/fried pork), asada (beef steak) and cabeza (beef cheeks). At a 1.65 each the tacos are on the expensive side (Taqueria Latina in Sunnyvale has $1 tacos). However they don't skimp on the meat here. The tacos were absolutely loaded and it was hard to contain them while picking them up. The asada and cabeza though flavorful needed some sodium ( I don't generally salt my food). The tripitas and carnitas were nicely textured but I wished they were a little crispier.
I think overall this is a 3.5 stars and since they have a lot of selection , Ill have to go deeper in the menu and change my rating as I go.

I've been to the one in Milpitas which is like a fast food place, but the Fremont one is so much nicer. It's bigger, more tables, clean, and new. There is a separate bar area where people can watch TV, listen to the jukebox music, or play pool. Think they have the same menu as the Milpitas location.
I went after work and there were guys enjoying the Happy Hour at the bar which is from 2-5pm M-F.
I read from Jatbar that the wet vegetarian burrito w/ green salsa was good so I got it. It has rice, pinto beans, salsa, and I got it with guacamole $5.49. It was good.
I also got a tostada de ceviche $2.49-which I thought the ceviche was very salty, but I still finished it. Tostada I didn't eat since I don't eat fried items (or try not to.)
Small horchata $1.25 is very sweet and pour yourself. I added lots of ice but it was still too sweet.
I'll get the fresh squeezed orange & carrot juice $1.99 for small next time.
They have free chips and salsa bar there. I saw the guy taking the chips out of the fryer-must be fresh. Fresh salsa is good.
They have both men and women bathrooms.
It's right off Fremont Blvd South exit, across from the Nummi plant so it's nice to get off and back on to 880 for a quick breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Recommended, will be back for meat tacos, etc.

I was hoping this would be my new favorite lunch spot during the week (it's only a couple of minutes from where I work) but I was not impressed in the least. I thought their salsa bar was pretty cool. They have a nice little selection of fresh salsas and chips which I thought was cool. I ordered the tostada de ceviche, which was probably the best I've ahd in the Fremont area. It was really cheap yet it was a meal in itself. The burrito I ordered was gross, though. The shrimp was cheap tasting and fried...(yuck) and it simply tasted...wrong. Some spots of the burrito were hot and others were cold.. in fact, almost frozen). I didn't enjoy it at all. Their food was also sloppy lokoing and both the guacamole and the sourcream seemed really watered down and not exactly fresh. I don't think I'll be going back. In fact, I think I'll be heading to Rubio's next time I feel like getting Mexican food during my lunch break.
