5 reviews for Taqueria La Herradura
Unassuming from the front, awesome on the inside. This clean little taqueria is really a delight, and incredibly reasonable on the price front, and the staff was awesome. This is not a hyperbole.
Ordered the Chicken Mole Enchiladas...and boy howdy, wow! I am a fan of mole in any situation, but the rich, dark flavor was surprising and delicious. The side stuff - rice and beans - were acceptable, and worked well as a whole combined experience.
Definitely coming back here.
This place is some damn fine food, and for a SUPER reasonable price!
The vegetarian burrito is seriously under $5 and is at least two, and probably 3 good meals. Plus-it comes with guac, sour cream and cheese. faboo.
But the real stand out here is the chicken mole enchiladas. Something about their mole is absolutely out of this world. Boyfriend and I think that it may be a dark chocolate instead of a regular chocolate-but whatever it is, these are truly to die for.
Definately plan to eat here frequently.

Look. When I'm in San Rafael, and I want a burrito, I go to Taqueria San Jose. It's cheap, it's under the freeway, it's tasty, and I run the risk of getting shot. The four cornerstones of any good taqueria. So when the missus suggested we try La Herradura 'cause it's within walking distance of our house, I wasn't pleased. But I agreed, because... well, she beats me.
To sum up. Cheap prices. Tasty salsa. And really bloody good burritos! I snagged the signature La Herradura Burrito, for $6.95, and the thing almost required the rental of a U-Haul to get it home. Smothered in tasty salsa, it beat me worse than she does, and I was able to get maybe halfway through it before I passed out. Tracee's carnitas burrito was tasty too, and plenty big. Two of these things could easily feed a village for two weeks.
It would have gotten five stars, had they not neglected to plop the guac in there, and were a little more heavy with the meat, little less so with the rice. No matter, I know better next time!
I want this place to be better due to how close it is to my house. It is mediocre at best. Kind of boring. I had a pretty basic burrito and was very disappointed. No flavor and not even anything to comment on. Try else where if you can.
Need some good, home cooked Mexican food at a great price? Herradura is what you are looking for. The food is fresh and tastes clean. The preparation is quick and prices very fair. A great local place to frequent.
