I was just telling my fellow yelper that I haven't been to a bad restaurant in awhile and then this happens.
I'm trying to think of some thing positive to say about this place but I really can't... it was clean inside?
The Bad:
My CHICKEN burrito was soggy and cold by the time I got home. (Only 3 minutes away)
A bit pricey for ($7) for a less then avg size burrito
After dealing with the burrito, I still felt unsatisfied.. Sad to say I wish I would have went to Taco Bell. :)
I know PLENTY of other fast food Mexican places around town that beat this place hands down!
I love this place! The food is awesome in my opinion (love the veggie burrito) and the staff is friendly. Its always clean and the service is quick. How can I resist this place?
This place isn't bad. The portions are pretty decently sized, and they had complementary chips and salsa. I wasn't too crazy about the chips (they tasted like the mass-produced, costco variety), but the salsa was pretty decent. They had both mild and hot salsa, but I wish they also had some pico de gallo. My super quesadilla ($5) was huge and had lots of stuffing. I was kind of surprised that they actually put the guacamole and the sour cream on the inside though, which made i kinda runny when I was slicing it up. I think next time I'd ask them to skip the sour cream and put the guac on the side, since the guac was actually pretty good on its own (had some from my hubby's dish, and it actually had a bit more of a kick and not flavorless like some places). My hubby got the chile relleno, which he enjoyed.
If were were in the area again, I wouldn't mind coming back here, but I wouldn't make a special trip of it either.
They nuked my nachos. Not just the chips, meat, and cheese. They nuked the whole damn thing. Hot guacamole and sour cream is just wrong. I have heard the taco's are good but I just can't bring myself to go back quite yet.

I moved from Berkeley to Fremont recently and had a hankering for a roach coach like experience minus the 50-50 chance of a rough night afterwards. Settled on this particular place.
I got myself a sampling platter of different types of tacos, from lengua to carne asada. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. The carne asada was a wee bit lacking in flavor. The al pastor was well done, as was the lengua. Salsa was a bit watery for my tastes.
Price was good, not as cheap as an Oakland Roach Coach but it's also less likely to leave you dead on the sidewalk.
I was in the area, hungry and was in the mood to stuff my face with Mexican food so we decided to try this place out.
Most taqueria's are stuffy and once you're done eating inside, your clothes and hair reek of refried beans but this place was fairly clean the place was well ventilated.
I hate when burritos are runny and watery! Sometimes the lettuce is still wet so the water mixes with your the cream/guacamole leaking through the tortilla making it soggy, but this burrito held up and despite the fact that it was HUGE, I finished it w/out creating a mess.
I'm sure we'll be back.

This place was very.. average. It doesn't stand out in any way to me but the prices are good and the food's ok. The vegetarian burrito is good and so are the enchiladas, however I was very disappointed with the camarones a la diabla. They were gritty and overcooked. They have a pretty nice salsa bar and the service is friendly.

El Sombrero serves up a solid platter of huevos rancheros. One of their salsas, made with Mexican oregano, really helps them stand out from some of the other local taquerias.

If you're on your way home and need a good plug - try the REGULAR burrito with Al Pastor (marinated pork). It is the only thing I get here, but it is one of the tastiest lip-smackin' burritos I've yet to have had elsewhere. Goes great with a cold beer and something on TV. Forget chips, salsa, guac, or anything else, because this will get you to burrito nirvana all on it's own.

We come here for the tacos! My bf loves the pastor ones and I get the carne asada or chicken or carnitas. My favorite has been the carnitas. My bf does get the burritos here too, but I prefer the ones from the ST place on Fremont Blvd. I'm still to try the enchiladas and/or camarones.
We come here all the time since it's close and yummy!
