This is really the only gourmet Mexican food that I have been to, but it was very tasty and well run. The line was very long (about 20 minutes) but well worth it. The fish tacos were D-lish and pretty cheap.  I agree with that other guy about the chicken tacos as well. The place has a very cosy feel to it, and free fruit!....ALSO, I relized in this review that I have a terrible vocabulary and will work on that  in future reviews!

YUM YUM YUM!

Let me elaborate: it is well worth the waiting in line you have to endure when you go to the Howell Mill location (my fave) for what you get once you order! The pork and the fried chicken tacos are my picks, though it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu here since the ingredients are fresh and how they're put together is super-tasty. Great for lunch during the work week, just casual enough for a first date and also a place you'd make part of your regular routine. Pretty good spot!

So I started reading the latest reviews...but I've been going there well - I can't remember but for me - this is CRACK.  My friends want to do an intervention.   So what that they are taco nazis - esp this location.  I chow down the fish tacos, a beef brisket enchilada in lemon cream sauce, the guac.  I have a "delicate palate" that doesn't really tolerate spice but from time to time I have the shrimp corn chowder - i'm just a wild and crazy gal.

I heard so much about this place. When we pulled up to the parking lot the line was almost out the door. Food was okay. A-OK *smirk*. I'd eat there again, but it's nothing you wake up in the middle of the night hungering for.

Responding to Austin's review:

Wait, wait, wait. A taqueria and they DON'T KNOW WHAT A MICHELADA IS?

Um, EPIC FAIL?????????????

Seriously, I don't get what's so appealing about this place.

Yeah, the tacos are cheap, but I'd rather have something authentic, not this cheap attempt at "gourmet" that people eat up cause it's the "in" thing.

If I want tacos, I'll go to Chamblee, thank you.

So apparently I'm the last person to get the hype that is taqueria. And apparently, if you want to eat there, you better bring a magazine bc there's a bit of a line. Always. Regardless, the fish taco is amazing, and definitely why I keep going back. It's perfectly breaded with jalapenos for a nice kick, and also has a delicious creamy sauce. The other tacos are great as well, but like I said before, it is definitely the fish taco that convinces me to stand in that line. The guacamole is also very tasty, and the salsa trio never disappoints. I love salsa verde...

Final thoughts - "bit" of a line, but the fish tacos are worth the wait.

TDS: "Home of the Taco Nazi"

This place is run like a Cold War-era nuclear sub. When we first walked in and were looking around for a space to seat our large party that would eventually arrive, we were smacked down by *SEVERAL* different people ("Oh, you can't sit down until you've ordered". As I approached the outside patio: "May I help you?" When I left my drink at a table to get in line to order: "Are you still sitting there? Do you mind holding your drink while you're waiting in line?")

Seriously, they were actually mucho cool about it and when our party did fully arrive, they accommodated us quite nicely. I was just taken aback by a place that appears so casual, yet is run so, um, "efficiently". I guess it makes sense if there are the mad long lines.

The bartenders are cool and I actually taught them a new drink I picked up in Ensenada, the michelada.

The tacos were, well, not very good. All the tacos I ordered were fried or chicken-fried in some way, and had only some mayo-based sauce squirted on for good measure. No salsa, no cabbage.

And everything is a la carte-- salsa? Extra. Chips? Extra.

I guess I'm spoiled living in a land where salsa flows like agua and the fish tacos are practically flopping around when they are served to you.

To the proprietors of TDS: Come spend a week in San Diego and learn how this stuff is supposed to be done. You owe it to the good people of Atlanta. You can even crash on my couch.

I. Just. Don't. Get. It.

Yes. The shrimp-corn chowder is good. Damn good - hence two stars instead of one. I always eat a side salad here because I like the dressing.

That's all the nice things I really have to say.

I have eaten here countless times due to being in proximity to a studio I work at - both dine-in and take out - and there is no good reason on earth for there to be a line out the door into the parking lot. If you see me in that line in Atlanta's 90 weather waiting for a soggy taco served with more attitude than filler, I am clearly suffering from heat stroke and need to be hospitalized.

Every time I pass Taqueria there's always a line out of the door.  I finally had to see what all of the hype was about.  I'm sorry to say that I wasn't tha t impressed.  The food wasn't bad. It was good...simple and delicious...but it reminded me of something I'd get off a taco stand in NYC.  It's not worth waiting in a long line for.  I hear people talking about the food here like it changed their life.  Really?  Wow!  You must be in the habit of eating really shitty food on a regular basis if a superiorly simple taco is rocking your world.

Yes, you will find a line.  And for some reason, the line is what intrigued me about this place, and I am on a quest to find the best taco in town!  We waited for maybe 15 minutes (so, don't go when you're about-to-pass-out-starving).  We tried the brisket tacos (amazing) and the margaritas are excellent too.  The service was quick, not necessarily friendly.  The outdoor patio is nice on a cool night.  I have mixed feelings about going back.  Maybe if it's 9 pm and no line outside...

I was told about the line outside the door of this place and it was true.  We stood in line for about 10 minutes before putting in our order.  (Note:  Even if you are waiting in line to order you cannot send one of your other friends to go grab a table.  The table Nazi will find them, and tell them to get off the table.  You must grab a table AFTER you have ordered.)  So, I ordered the Tilapia with Spinach.  It was pretty tasty except for the sauce was a little tart.  But the dish was light.  The margarita was good and the chips and queso were good as well.  I didn't like the salsa too much because it was way too smokey tasting for me.   I liked the heat (spiciness) it gave, but the taste overall was not so good to me.  I had a bite of my friend enchilada, which was really good.  I am excited to go back and try a bunch of other dishes....especially their fish tacos......looked yummy!

Overall.....not a bad place to eat.  Service....eh---so/so.  The guy taking our order didn't look very happy.....in fact none of the staff members were really smiling.  Oh well, go for the food........not a bad place to try.

Ok, so I know this may be restaurant blasphemy in Atlanta, but screw it, Taquiera Del Sol is overrated.  Yep, I said it, completely overrated.  I have been there 2x, the first time probably tasted a bit better because I wasn't paying for it.  The second time, I practically sampled all the tacos and left realizing, they are all pretty much gross.

On a positive note, things definitely are cheap here.  The margaritas are actually relatively good.

Somehow this place has gotten this amazing reputation, and I am frankly just not buying it.

So there you go, I said it, Taqueria Del Sol sucks.

Wonderful, addictive, give me more!

The veggie tacos have this sauce on them that is like crack.  You can not eat just one.  Try the salsa trio, many delights there.  The guac is always fresh and the queso is fab.

The rita are good too.

I can not believe I do not eat here weekly.

oh yeah the wait can be long long but it is worth it.

This is a great place to take friends for their first experience - but be prepared for lines.  The lunch line starts forming right after 11am and if you drive past, you can see everyone lined up in the parking lot (so make sure it isn't a rainy day).  The line does move pretty fast, but making sure you can find a table can be tough as well - especially a large group.

The price is right and the food is delicious.  Grab yourself a drink (amazing margaritas), order some queso and wait for the tacos to be delivered to your table.  They do a nice job of keeping the variety alive with a weekly taco special.  They have everything from steak to fried chicken tacos (yes, fried chicken tacos).

Personally, I am a sucker for their enchiladas.  Their sauce is perfectly spiced and the cheese is always gooey and creamy.

One of my former boss' favorite place to take the team for lunch, now that he is moved on I plan on keep the tradition alive.

Holy Moly you've got to try the Guacamole!

Other favorites: Margaritas, Shrimp and Corn Chowder and tacos (any of 'em).

Don't ever go to this place and expect there to NOT be a line. The good news is it moves really, really fast.

I've never had a problem with any of the staff. They've always been pretty friendly. I can understand why they don't want you to sit down before ordering. They turn orders around so fast, they wouldn't have tables available for diners once the food did come out.

Soup Naziish? I can't see it, but maybe I've just been really lucky....

I have an uber love/hate relationship with this place.  I love the food, but hate the wait. I think they put something in those darn tacos that makes them completely addictive, because I normally will not wait in line for food ANYWHERE but, alas, I do here. The Memphis tacos and yummy greens call to me and I must answer. Parking is another drawback, but not a big enough one to keep me away.  All hail the Sol.

I am a big fan of Taqueria del Sol.  The line thing is a bit of a headache and I can never quite remember when they are open, but the food is worth it.  You can at least grab an alcoholic beverage while you are waiting and they serve quickly after you order.

Being a Texan, I am a self-proclaimed Mexican food snob.  Don't be fooled, Taqueria is not like traditional Mexican or Tex Mex.  It's what I like to call new fangled Mexican- regardless, it is tasty deliciousness!

I am a fan of the fish and brisket tacos and the chowder is also pretty dang good.  Sometimes they have some good specials in the mix, as well.  I have friends that are actually having them cater their wedding.  That may be going too far but nonetheless it is a fun, cheap place to grab lunch or a casual dinner.

Simplifying Mexican food, one taco at a time!

This refreshing, sleek eatery serves a la carte tacos with a smidge of spice. Choose from fried chicken or fried fish tacos, add a side of rice, maybe a bowl of corn chowder to start, and a corona to finish all for about 12 dollars. Each taco (they only have about 5 types to choose from) cost between $2-3. So if your not starving but craving a tasty snack, you can pay for what you can eat! OH but beware of the long line that forms out the door during the peak lunch and dinner hours. It also takes time for them to deliver your soft wrapped tacos to your table. But while your waiting either in line or at the bar, you are sure to run into long time friends or make new ones who also enjoy these simple Mexican treats!

I heart the fish tacos at the 'Taqueria' as we like to call it. This has been a main stay for me and few friends for the past couple of years, first we started coming on the weekends, then we started coming when we had a bad day at work, finally we just decided to make it a weekly thing, Sometimes a twice weekly event with Monday evenings spent at the Chesire Bridge location figuring how we're going to make it thru another hellish work week. And Fridays or Saturdays we reserved for celebrating the work week's end.

I have a few personal favorites here, the fish tacos are all dat and a bag of chips and I crave them in my sleep! The chicken enchiladas with the pork green chili are superb as well, and it makes my mouth water to think about it. But I think one of my primo faves here especially during the winter months has got to be the shrimp corn chowder, smooth, sweet & creamy it hits the spot on these long cold winter nites and even on those hot summer days....I've tried other tacos here including the pork-alicious goodness that is the Carnita!! Now that's some good eating, and also the Memphis with that Tangy BBQ sauce, and the beefy briskey taco. The veggie taco is good as well just a bit spicy. Believe it or not i've never had the fried chicken taco in all my years of Taqueria dining but from other people's raves i'm sure it must be great.

$2.19 for a taco?  Yes, please!

I loooove Taqueria!  My advice: come on a day with good weather, because the line is usually way out the door.  However, the line moves quickly, and your food is served promptly.  Definitely spring for the queso dip...mmm.  I usually check their menu online to seek what the weekly special taco is before going...it ranges from the "cheeseburger taco" to "nutty shrimp" to...well, you name it!  The fried chicken taco is my personal favorite, with the fish taco in a close second.  So delish.

Anywhere else that I eat Tex-Mex, I go for a crunchy taco, but I love the soft taco goodness that is Taqueria.  The tacos are kinda small; I generally order three of them, and with queso it's more than enough of a meal.

Taqueria Del Sol is one of Atlanta's great little restaurant secrets.

Best damn taqueria in Atlanta! Even though I love the southwest flavah of Tin Lizzy's, this place beats them hands down.  Don't expect a hole-in-the-wall Mexican taqueria, though. I was expecting sombreros and pinatas, but it's a remodeled garage complete with white paint.  The briskett tacos are heaven!  Margaritas are great, too. Ask for the "Westside margarita" at this location, even though it may not be on the menu.  I was a little taken back when I walked in and you have to order at the counter, but trust their system. It works, even though you should be prepared to wait in line at least 30 minutes.  Even when it's a Wednesday! But I promise, it's worth it!  Other people agree, too, because the place closes at 9 during the week, and the line was still out the door.

I love this place.  I worked in the area for three years and ate lunch there all the time.  The food is fantastic, and I think I'd kill a man for the cheese dip.

A lot of people have posted about the staff and the "rules" and the wait.  I think the staff is great, they are a nice bunch of people who are funny, and hard workers. This is not a place where someone is going to wait on you hand and foot. It's more about getting people some yummy tacos as fast as they can. This might not be everyones cup of tea, a lot of people are used to being waited on.

The way it works is you wait in line to order food and pay, then you sit at a table and they bring you your order almost moments later.    You eat and then leave.  If the tables fill up they stop taking orders until someone leaves, so the line stops moving until then.  I don't see why people are all shocked that they were asked to get up when they took a table out of turn.  Really it just slows everyone down.  It's not like when you place your order you won't have a place to sit.

Also they have places to sit just inside the door, and outside the door if you old (or have someone old with you) who needs to sit.

The best times to go are right when they open or a little before close.

If you have a small group of 2 or 3 you could also try the bar during busy times.  You usually have to put your name on a list, you can't just grab a seat. if you just tell the guy at the bar how many seats you want you can wait in the line and someone will come get you as soon as a spot opens up. I always found this the quickest way.

First of all, the fried chicken tacos are good enough to themselves give me serious pause about whether to ax chicken from my diet (I don't eat red meat and I've gone back and forth on poultry). It's mind-bogglingly good in part because I don't really think there is anything that spectacular in it to explain the goodness. I put it in my mouth and think "doesn't KFC make something IDENTICAL to this? why is this so FRIGGING AWESOME?" The cheese dip and guac are yum too. I'm not a fan of the fish tacos for some reason.

And here's my 2 cents on the conflict on the procedures for ordering, the long line, the rude cashier, and all that. In case it isn't clear from the other reviews, it works like this: there is one cashier and each party has to wait in line, the back of which is almost certainly outside, and then order from that cashier and pay. Then the party locates a table, and the kitchen brings the food out to your table shortly afterward. You can order can sodas, but there is a big tank of water you can help yourself to as well.

In the abstract this system is way too chaotic and uncertain for my control freak side, but I guess I just haven't had that bad an experience with it, and ultimately I think it's probably pretty efficient - even in long lines I've never had a lunch at Taqueria spill too much over 45 minutes.  I imagine it helps the kitchen to have orders come in one at a time. It makes sense to discourage people lingering at the cashier so that the line can always be moving - I personally am much happier in a long moving line than in a medium-sized line that doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Also, it stabilizes the flow if people all get their tables at the same point in the process as opposed to squatting. And regarding large parties, one "rule" is to let the management know when you get there so they can do the hovering for tables thing for you. And they really do accommodate you!

I don't think the cashier should be rude obviously, but he wasn't rude to me, so I can't speak to that. But if you are without fail required to wait in a long line before getting to the cashier, you really should know what you want (or at the very least what questions you want to ask) when you get there. It's a pretty manageable-sized menu.

In short, consider me in the taqueria fan camp.

Around the corner from the office, this constant-line-out-the-door favorite is frequented by coworkers and has been referred to as "the other cafeteria" and I gotta say, it is a little cafeteria like.

From being snarled at by the person at the counter with the hearing problem who isn't willing to take an entra step to help in the interist of keeping the maching moving - to the subtle absence of high chairs and booster seats (I take point with the place being labled "child friendly").

While I love a room full of windows and light, and a room void of excess, TdS seems to scream "I'm trying too hard!" let me take your money and throw you in an uncomfortable chair for the sake of insulting you one more time!

Since when did shitty service become trendy/good service? Yuk.

Food, good, sure..  Spectacular and worthy of insult?  No thanks.  If it wasn't for the convenience factor and my fellow florescent light captives loving the abuse, I'd probably skip ever going here again.

I went there tonight for dinner with some friends and experienced the nazi-service firsthand.

I went up to the counter being first of the three couples in our party to order. The lady behind the counter asked  how many people in our party, I answered 6 adults but that I was just ordering and paying for my husband and I. She seemed distressed that she didn't see all 6 of us in line (2 were in the bathroom but their spouses were going to order and pay for them). Then she asked for my name, which I gave, then proceeded to order for my husband. She immediately asked if I making two orders. I replied yes. Then I proceeded to order for him again, and she yelled at me that it had to be MY order first because my name was already in the computer. Ok.... I didn't know that. Nobody explained that rule to me.  So I ordered mine first, then his, and paid for ours.

Our friends were next in line. Again, she seemed distressed and screamed "where the rest of your party?" They were seated already since their spouses were ordering for them. She seemed really annoyed by this. We were practically the last guests there then. They had already turned the sign to be "closed" for business then. I guess we broke many of their thousand rules.

Food was good. Fish tacos were great. But for its nazi style service, I give it minus 2-3 stars.

After reading Michael B's review, I'm not sure if I'd go back there.

Dear Taqueria del Sol,
Now that I've moved to Seattle, I can't find a decent taco to save my life.
I miss your cheese dip, your bean tacos, your fish tacos and your oh-so refreshing margaritas on a hot hot Atlanta day!
Not to worry...we will meet again someday when I'm back in the dirty south.
Love,

The only edible Mexican food for me in Atlanta... there is NO GOOD Mexican food in the city.  I'm from California and we know how it's done.  No, the other big names in the city dont' even come close, including Nuevo Laredo Cantina.. pffft.

Taqueria is one of my favorite lunch spots, as it's close to work and costs less than $10 for a full stomach. Sure, the lines suck, especially in the heat/humidity, but they have a bar where you can get served immediately if you're in a hurry. As someone who used to work in food service, I think the staff is sufficiently polite for a place that's packed all the time. I've only ever had one order that was sub-par, but on the whole, the food is delicious and comes quickly enough to justify the long wait.

Located in the new Westside complex, Taqueria Del Sol is quietly building a reputation for its high-quality, yet inexpensive Mexican fare.

The interior is rather eclectic and funky, with exposed ductwork and an abundance of wrought iron. A wide variety of Mexican dishes includes all the traditional favorites, but their emphatic specialty is tacos. You'll find a nearly impossible variety of taco combinations, with fish, shrimp, and other odd options.

Taqueria del Sol resembles an extremely well-dressed taco stand, with inventive tacos, enchiladas, side dishes, soups, and chilis. You put together your own "plate," ordering as much or as little as you like. Use your imagination, picking a couple of tacos (the fish taco is a standout), an enchilada, and maybe a side of the addictive jalapeo cole slaw. There is usually only one complete special for lunch and one or two for dinner; offerings might include a southwestern interpretation of a southern dish, such as boneless fried chicken with ancho mashed potatoes, low country gravy, serrano chile sauce, and turnip greens.

The crowd favorite and my own personal favorite is always the Fried Chicken Tacos. It's fresh, and tasty, and seriously hits the spot.

Taqueria Del Sol also has a full bar with a wide selection of cervezas and tequila.

No doubt Taqueria Del Sol has excellent food and a great fun atmosphere. The dishes change everyday with lunch and dinner specials. Also a favorite is the Cheese Enchilada with the Pork Green Chile sauce.

All of the salsa's are pretty spicy, so if you can't stand the heat, you might skip this treat. Or, order a margarita on the rocks to cool you down...They are pretty decent.

On the flip side, I must say that the staff is quite possibly the rudest and most disrespectful staff on earth. The food is good, but don't piss off the person behind the counter  off or you will be scorned for life. Know what you want prior to reaching the register and you won't be made to feel a fool.

Also, be prepared for the wait as this is no short line. An actual single file line forms here which extends pretty deep into the parking lot. Luckily, it seems as if this neighborhood is a tad addicted to the food, and probably its affordability...So it doesnt look like the lack of good service is really hurting the establishment. Although, I have heard many friends swear that they will never be back for a 2nd visit.

If you go, try to snag a table on the covered patio. The view is beautiful...But don't get too comfortable, the wait staff is unmistakingly very eager to give your table to the next patron. Not a place to take your time and relax.

It's all about getting you In and getting you Out of this place.

I have to admit, my husband and I must have really lucked out for lunch today at Taqueria Del Sol. We had the huge line that is fairly typical at this particular venue, but it actually moved fairly quickly. With the heatwave, I was pretty worried we'd end up sitting in the patio, but we really did luck out - a table was being cleaned right next to us when we finished our order. I had been prepped with reviews to expect snarls and taco nazis at the counter, but the guy seemed fine to me, and I didn't have any real problems.

Bill S said the only way to get free refills was to have tea. They serve coke in a can, and you don't really have a wait staff come to you to see if you need anything. You pretty much order everything you're going to want right there at the counter. I'm not a tea person, so I stuck with water, and thank goodness too, because I was guzzling it. The food wasn't THAT spicy, don't get me wrong - but it did have a bite. I really enjoyed the cheeseburger tacho and our salsa trio was really good. There was a chipotle salsa, a typical tomato salsa, and a salsa verde of some time. The first two seemed the more popular with us though.

I discovered this place at their Decatur location and now must have it at least once a month.  Some are not crazy about it, but most love that it is dirt cheap, good food, and the margaritas aren't too bad either!  My favorite is the fried chicken taco, but others love the memphis taco... my roommate, who loves cheese dip, says theirs is just about the best!

I hate this place.  I always get suckered into going and always think well maybe I just didn't like what I ordered and every time I realize that no in fact, I just really don't like this place.  For some unknown reason there is always a line out the door.

I have ordered all the taco choices at this point and really don't like them, even now as I am remembering the taste kind of makes me do the I- just- ate- a- sour- patch- kid- face.  I must say it is fresh though so that is worth half a star.

Also their cheese dip and guacamole and salsa is awesome (one star) BUT it costs more than the freaking tacos so that is really annoying to me (minus half star).  I guess I am one of those people who prefers the hidden fees in exchange for thinking my chips and salsa are free.  Ridiculous, yes.

I know I will get suckered into going to this place again and I just need to remember not to order the memphis taco - too sweet, nor the brisket - too salty, nor the fried chicken - too much mayo, nor the fish - too fishie.

As a Cali transplant, I long for a descent taco here in the ATL. I was pleasantly surprised at the dishes at Taqueria Del Sol. I admit I'm a bit of a food snob.

My visit to this location was during the week at around 5pm and the line was long but not too bad. I thought the service was pretty good all things considered. I asked a few questions since we don't eat pork and I needed to ensure the veggies weren't cooked with them.

I had the yummy fish taco and fried chicken taco along with a side of the greens. I did feel that the fried chicken taco could use some salsa or some other spicy sauce. All in all the food was good and I would definitely go back.

The fish tacos were excellent, but the service was not friendly.  I'll probably go back someday.

The  line is crazy long during normal lunch hours, but it's still worth it. I would describe it more as "california" mexican, with an emphasis on white sauces and it seems to be lighter fare. Don't expect refried beans, cheddar cheese, and ground meat like you get at your local Rio Bravo. The specials are usually good and it's fun to order a couple of things to share. It's so cheap, why not? The shrimp and corn chowder is really good as well as the chicken enchiladas, but I've seriously never had a bad thing here.

I've also never had problems with the service like the other Yelpers have mentioned, but I'll definitely keep my eye out for it the next time I'm there.

I had heard about Taqueria Del Sol before going - mainly that the tacos are good, but that's it.  So, when I showed up and saw a line out the door, I was a bit worried.  Needless to say, there was no need to worry.  The restaurant is set up so that there is a line to order your food, then you sit down, and the order is brought to your table. The line moves quickly.  You, also, can go to the bar and get margaritas to drink while you wait in line.  I highly recommend deciding on something before you get to the ordering counter -- really, I get annoyed when people wait in a line for more than 10 minutes and then don't know what they want to eat.  That's not to say that you can't ask questions about, lets say, the specials.  But, really - the menu only has so many items on it.  The creole and normal fish tacos are awesome.  I liked the normal fish taco better.  The cheese dip is also very good.  Note that the red sauce for the cheese enchiladas has meat in it - that wasn't pointed out to me.  I mistakenly figured that they would understand someone ordering cheese enchiladas didn't want meat.  The restaurant took the order back and gave me a different sauce - that was nice.

I went in a group of five people and I was amazed at how easy it was.  I got to the register wondering if we would need to go squat on a table, but that is frowned upon.  The restaurant found us a table and our food came out fairly quickly.

My  only complaint is the margarita pitcher.  The margaritas are good, but the pitcher is loaded with ice, as are the cups, which is all just not quite fair.  I wanted a margarita, not a cup of ice with a splash of margarita.  My friend pointed that out to the bartender and was met with a not so pleasant reply.  I mean, fill the pitcher half way with ice - fine, but filling it all the way and then the glasses - - not so cool.  I think it is pretty common knowledge that there is a hefty profit on alcohol drinks, so come on.  (one star deduction.)

I would recommend this restaurant for a quick and not pricey, but very good dinner.  I'm sure it's great for lunch; I've just never been.

I've been here at least a dozen times now, and never a negative customer service incident, so am rewriting my review (mostly) from scratch.

Taqueria Del Sol is a great lunch spot on the NW side of town. Their menu is pretty basic... for the most part, just tacos, enchiladas, and chips/salsa/guac, along with a weekly "blue plate" special which varies pretty wildly, check the website to see what it is this week.

The first thing you will notice is that there is ALWAYS a line. This place really is that popular. The line moves pretty quickly (my first visit was pretty slow, but since then its been very manageable)

IMPORTANT TIP: If you are alone or with just another person, walk in first and see if there are seats at the bar. If so, you can just skip the line and sit at the bar and eat. It took me a couple visits to realize that, now I ALWAYS sit at the bar, since I usually am there by myself for a quick lunch.

TDS gets its "taco nazi" reputation (deserved or not) because they are very strict about enforcing one rule: Do not go hold onto a table while you and/or members of your party are waiting in line. If members of your party such as your octogenarian grandmother or diabetic uncle are unable to stand for long periods of time, there are a couple benches inside for them to sit on in the meantime.

At the front of the line, you order your food at the counter. Despite other reports, the counter clerk or bartender has never been rude to me. If s/he was, I'd be rude right back at them. That said, if you've been waiting in line for 15 minutes, you really should know what you want already. There's a menu posted outside, along with paper menus inside the front door for you to browse while you wait.

Now that we've
