We went to Tao tonite for the first time, they just opened this past week.
The location is a lil grimy, but upon walking in the doors, it oozes swank! Really nice inside. The service was a lil rusty to begin with, but it totally got better as the night went on! They were totally just working out the kinks!
But we had a blast, and the staff was super sweet!
We will be back!

We went there on one of their "soft" grand opening nights and like the previous person said the inside has some really cool decor.
Lets talk about the menu: It was happy hour and the happy hour food deals looked good and priced well. We ordered a thing of the wings and an order of spring rolls. Each of the items was $4.00 so that seemed cool. We got the wings and sure enough it was 5 really small wings, they tasted great but only 5 wings? The regular price of the wings was $7.00 i believe, total rip off. The spring rolls were 2 spring rolls for $4.00 reg price $7.00 i believe. They were not rolled very tight and were mediocre at best. You can go to china town and get 2 spring rolls with peanut sauce for $2.50. The wells drinks were on special for $4.00 and they were monarch. I dont know how much they would have been regularly but $4.00 for a monarch well drink, a 1/5th of monarch is like $10.00 so again it was totally not worth it. We looked at the menu and the prices on the menu were way way over priced. They had a Surf & Turf for $83.00 and the meet wasnt kobe beef or prime beef. They had prime rib for $35.00 small cut and $40 or $42 for the bigger cut. Way way way overpriced,especially for federal way. Nothing on the their menu was affordable for dinner. Needless to say I probably wont be going back there unless they do some serious price adjusting. If you want to spend a ton of money go somewhere else, trust me!
10-18-09 UPDATE: Like i had said with my previous review, we had went there on a soft opening night, so for the girl who didnt read what i wrote, i have not been there since the grand opening. I'm sure they did the some price adjustments on the menu, it was just nuts when we had went there, the price of everything so as long as they adjusted the price then i'll go back, i just could afford to spend $150 for 2 people in Federal Way, thats all.
I love this place, great food awsome prices people friendly and their night club is awsome.... when you go to happy hour at Tao you must try their sweet potato fries with the honey on them they are very awsome. I also have gone their for lunch and had tryed their stuffed blue cheese burger, which is very filling and at a very good price. Thier was a guy that posted a bad reviw for this place and I have no idea what he was talking about but this place cracks the food and drinks are good and afordable. He fails. On friday night and I got a Australian Lobster Tail that was afordable and have never been able to go to Red Lobster and got a lobster with fixings for under $65.00. This morning 10/4/09 they started a brakefast menu that was delicious and all you can eat, who doesn't like that. Everyone in the Federal Way area needs to go check this club out!!!!!
