I've been going to Isa to cut my unruly head of hair for longer than either of us would like to admit. My wife started going to her and just dragged me along because everyone who cut my hair screwed it up (it has always been thick and very straight). Isa cut it perfectly.
My lovely wife has gone through many color changes and permanents under Isa's care. Isa has cut and styled my children's hair and now Sonia is cutting my granddaughter's (Sonia gave her her first cut at 2.5 - she loved it).
We try to schedule for as many of us to come in together as we can and we all visit. Isa and Sonia are like members of our family.
They provide wireless access so that I can work while I wait for my wife.
It's not often, I think, that a guy can say that he can sit comfortably in a hair salon and visit or work. But that should tell you just what a great little place they have at Tao Blaze.
A friend had referred me to this business for my wedding day. I got to consult with Deirdre. My wedding isn't until June, so this review is about the appointment I had a few days ago to get my hair coloured and cut.
Deirdre is so awesome. I really had no idea what to do with my hair, so I felt kinda bad that she had to make so many suggestions. Instead of getting a full-on dyejob like I said I wanted, she did a process called "shades", since all I really wanted to do was get rid of most of the warmth. The end result is so gorgeous. Yes, my hair is almost black, but it still has depth to it.
I didn't expect the hand massage and the scalp massage. I really wish I had taken her up on her neck massage offer before the appointment officially started. Tao Blaze really does want their clientele to have an amazing experience.
The best part of the appointment was that Deirdre fixed my hair from all the years I didn't care about it. I now have a very flattering cut which consists of subtle layers that frame my face. My hair now has life.
I met Isa Moe @ her Tao Blaze Salon roughly 4 years ago. Ever since, I've been a loyal and grateful customer. It is a small salon tucked away in Los Gatos, the vibe is always big with collective creative energy ~ whether Isa, Sonja, or Deidre "do" my hair ~ they consistently give me flattering hairstyles and color that I can enjoy every day... and I'm always glad to get back there for updates ..and for in-between times, I use the MimicColor product that Isa Moe developed ~ see http://www.MimicColor.com ~!*
Jen is fabulous! I've known her before she was at Tao, so of course I was supportive with her new transition. Not only is she a great stylist but her personality is dynamic, her spirit is calming, and her laughter is infectious-- not to mention she's a true professional!!
The salon itself is cozy and quaint. They go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. I walked out feeling 100% satisfied --and I'm very particular. Great atmosphere, convenient location, wonderful stylist (Jen Bulik), and friendly staff!!
I've been putting Dierdre in charge of my hair since before she was at Tao Blaze, and she's fantastic!
She always knows just what to do with my color and my cut to make me feel gorgeous. And she'll have new ideas for my hair that she's been thinking about each time I come in. The only time I complain about my hair is when I wait too long between visits!
The salon itself is great too. Just three chairs, but that gives it a homey comfortable feel that blends well with hip factor of the retro salon chairs, orange walls, and very cool art on the walls.
Highly recommended!!
I had been going to Becka at Tao Blaze for about 6 months when I asked her to do my wedding in August last year. During our run-through Becka did a couple of different styles and just came up with one that made me feel like, "I'm getting married today!" I love the way I look in the pictures. I know it sounds conceited, but everyone wants to look at their wedding album with no regrets. Hair-related or otherwise!
And picture this, 6 bridesmaids with hair from shoulder- to waist-length in all different variations of coarse and straight and thin and afro - on a misty Monterey day! Becka and Isa swooped in and everyone looked fabulous and the do's rocked into the night. Even better, these are some sweet divas who run Tao Blaze, so everyone had a great time getting ready too. I really couldn't have asked for a better morning on my wedding day and they were a huge part of it.
I go to Tao Blaze for my regular cut and color too. The salon is a mix of the comfortable and the chic and they have a nice drink selection. Oh - and the massage you get after the shampoo is amazing. Props to Sonia. And if you've got longer hair like me, you don't have to worry about an inch trim turning into six inches on the floor! They listen to you. I'm not as adventurous as some of their bolder clients with wild colors and whatnot, but I'm always very, very happy with how my hair looks when I walk out the door.
So, for a special occasion or just to maintain your mane - Tao Blaze is the way to go!
Artistic and funky chic cool!!
