I had a small emergency with my rescue frenchie, who apparently has yet to meet a bouncing ball he didn't want to attack.
They were very patient with my showing up on their doorstep on a Saturday afternoon (in a panic). They correctly evaluated my dog, and didn't over medicate, and even followed up with a call the next day (even though I live in the East Bay).
Lucky Marin people should take their pets here. -

Great place, nice staff, however this is not a place to go if money is an issue for you.
I love my pets but just because "They can" doesn't mean you can, or for that matter should. I felt a tad bit judged about my decision not to spend thousands of dollars saving my 12 year old dogs life. I dont have that kind of cash to pay for my own medical expenses. If you have the money, four stars, if money is a concern two stars. -

I'm so happy to have found Tamalpais Pet Hospital. Not only did they take my dog with an eye problem, immediately, but they were all very caring and attentive and made me feel I couldn't get any better care in Marin. They also carry the best flea and heartguard medicine that are up to date. They are a very clean and efficiently run hospital. My daughter also had a very good experience here with her dog who was dying of cancer.

From the start, I felt like a walking dollar sign with a four legged cash dispenser. This was a very rude & uncomfortable experience and at the end of the day, nothing effective was done to help get to the bottom of my dog's digestive problems. I was left feeling worried and hopeless. Dr Elliott didn't even follow up with a phone call as she said she would, instead I had to call in TWICE to get the results - or should I say non results - from the tests that she ran. I am just glad that I went for a second opinion elsewhere, instead of putting my 12 year old dog through a biopsy surgery to the tune of $700 -$1000 and who knows what else. The one positive thing I have to say is that the front desk was kind enough to get my dog's records to the new vet very quickly so he could get some compassionate effective care.

These guys are great, carry all of the veterinary diets and they are open until 7pm! The staff is very helpful, cheerful, not rushing you in and out. Oh, and they are open on Saturdays too! Availability, reasonable prices on veterinary diets, and local business, five stars! = )

So, we used to go to Cat Clinic! For 10 years, until the Dr. came in to tell me, "you have a really crappy cat there! Good luck with that! She's just really crappy!" I was gobsmacked! (for 9 months I haven't even yelped it yet...kinda still in shock)
So, I took Beya to this hospital, finally got caught up on her shots! 4 months behind but needed two shots plus we did blood work. She liked the cat tree and sitting in the window. She did Kangaroo kick the Dr. And again the nurse when drawing blood from her hind leg. So then the nurses did a great job of calming her! drew the blood using "the scruff" clip thing; worked great on her to take blood from her neck. She was totally docile. They tried it on my finger first to show me how its not painful. We got a nice compliment about her teeth. She asked if we brushed them. I said no. She said, ever? I said never. She was like wow, 10 year old cat with teeth like that? That good genetics! So, it was nice after the "crappy cat" comment that I've been trying to get over. -

We've been taking our dog to Tam Vet Hospital for 4 yrs, ever since we adopted him. Dr. Haevernick and the team are always pleasant and professional, and I feel that Chili gets a thorough checkup. Like most animal-related services, veterinary is never cheap, but the peace of mind is worth it!

My cat has been going here since he was 6 weeks old (when I used to work at this hospital). He is 16 and still walks in willingly on his leash.

Buyer beware: I was charged 120% above retail for a heart worm preventative. Thankfully I was able to return the product with no problem.

I brought a litter of 5 kittens plus the mom who had been living on the streets of Oakland. I was able to get in to see a vet pretty quickly on a Saturday which was important to me as I had futzed around with everyone else's recommendation for vet treatment for a bit. The family and I saw Dr. Vared Bar, who works a few days a week. She was so perfect. I just wanted to see a normal vet who displays a nice level of compassion and she totally fit the bill. The staff was very curteous, seemed good at their jobs and warm as well. Dr. Bar set me off on a new course to take care of these tykes. I can't say if it was expensive or not--6 kitties is a bit, and I would think it would cost a little bit. Based on my experience, I highly recomment this crew.
