Two years ago my little girl could not speak. She had her own very cryptic language that even as her Mother, I had an almost impossible time interpreting. Discouraged with insurance companies and feeling dismissed by doctors, I found TALK in Burlingame and FINALLY felt heard when I met Alexia.

The confidence Alexia showed in her work made me feel at ease and assured in the information/prognosis I was given. There is a great balance of professionalism and a playful, inviting atmosphere that secured my belief in the care that my child would receive. All the therapists are kind, warm, smart women, who feel like friends, and my daughter has liked working with them all.

TALK has been such a tremendous resource for me in other areas of my daughters learning and development, and they are always up to date with the latest and current therapies. Along with speech problems, my little girl also struggles with sensory issues (related and non- related to speech) that the staff has always been mindful of and thoughtfully incorporated into treatments plans to help support her as an individual! They have provided such a support for me, just as a parent with a special needs child that I have come to rely on and trust.

My daughter is now completely intelligible, continuing to meet her goals and she still has the ability to shock me in her progress. I truly don't know where she would be today without the help of the amazing staff at TALK. I would recommend to anyone, with the highest regard, to schedule a consultation and meet the wonderful staff for yourself.

I don't think I could ever really express my full gratitude for what they have helped my daughter, my whole family accomplish. We love you TALK!!

I know how hard it is to find a good speech therapist.

My son (ASD, apraxia, non-verbal) had been with 2 other speech
therapists for almost a year with no progress. They were supposed to
be specialists in Apraxia. But they had no compassion for special
needs kids or their parents. They had no plan for his therapy and
were just improvising each session. In the end, they just gave up and
said that he will never succeed in sound production.

I wish I had known about Alexia earlier. My son now has a plan and
specific goals. He is making steady progress as witnessed by his ABA
team. Everyone is amazed. She has also been very patient and
understanding of tantrums behaviors etc.. She has allowed my ABA team
director to overlap her. She is very compassionate and understanding.
Her office is very kid-friendly and accessible.

Lastly, our school district (San Mateo Foster City) has approved her.

We were referred to TALK by our dentist, who spoke very highly of Alexia. Our son has a tongue thrust, trouble with many sounds and much of his speech was unintelligible. We have been beyond thrilled with our experience.  We have been taking our 4 year old boy for over 2 months and there is already marked improvement in his speech.  He speaks slower, clearer and is literally learning the proper tongue placement for speaking correctly.  Alexia and her team were able to pick up on other issues going on with his language (that we didn't realize) and have come up with a plan to reach realistic and very specific goals.  The overall atmosphere is positive, optimistic and kid-friendly. Alexia purposely has us working with more than one therapist, and our son adores the whole team.  I really thought it would be a struggle to get him to go to Speech twice a week, but he is always happy to go and seems eager to please his "teachers".   The improvement is really amazing and we feel lucky to have found TALK.
