With any consignment - one must be persistent to succeed. I have found some blazing deals on clothing - esp. stuff like suits. Very happy. Have found some great boots and great scarves, too. I don't love everything in the store, and the vast majority of the time when i go in, I buy nothing. But - wow - when I find something that I just love at a reasonable price - I am so happy to have invested the 'browse' and 'stop by' time. This is in my normal route of stuff (QFC, Ladro, Vet Clinic) so stopping by is not a big deal. If it were out of the way - I might drop it one star - but it's just really convenient for me, personally, so that's like, a bonus star.

I've walked past this shop hundreds of times and never stopped before yesterday, even when there have been cute items in the window. I finally had some time to kill and so came here and browsed through the racks of second-hand offerings. I found several things I liked, but unfortunately for most of them the size/price ratio didn't line up properly (i.e., things actually available in my size were more money than I wanted to pay). I did end up buying a cute sheer top for summer or club wear, so it was not a failed expedition. I didn't really care for any of the shoes and accessories available, but the clothing selection was fairly good and laid out in a sensible manner - mainly by color. This isn't the place to come for outrageous clothes or deals, but if you want some nice basic items for cheaper, it's worth a look.
Be sure to stringently check over any item you might buy, as the return policy is super strict. I inspected the shirt I bought very carefully in the dressing room, including giving it the ever-important sniff test. The gal working the register was perfectly pleasant and I didn't have any customer service issues. -

I am giving up on this place. A lot of the items look cheap - thin fabrics, sequins, dated, etc. - and prices are a tad high.
As far as consigning, the policies make no sense to me (apparently Banana Republic cotton dress slacks are a "fall or winter" item...hmmm....). I used to take in 30+ items, have about 2/3 of them taken and sell almost everything over the three month term. Now I'm lucky if 5 out of those 30+ are accepted. My style and size has remained the same, and I've taken note that the stuff that is accepted is definitely what I would consider on the lower quality end of what I have to offer. I'm on the hunt for a better place to try to sell my gently used clothes.
This is extremely disappointing, as my sister and I have had years of great experiences but the place just isn't what it used to be. Hmph.1 Previous Review: Show all »

This place looks so cute from the outside!! But when you step inside... disappointing!
The style of most of the clothes in the store is just blah, nothing really stood out or seemed special or worth buying. I also felt like the prices were a bit high for a consignment shop.
Also, I didn't realize that some of the clothing is new so it's a mix of new and old but still nothing too crazy in terms of style. I found one or two items that were okay (like a scarf and a clutch -but it needed to be altered) so really I was disappointed.
Something I do want to mention is that the shoe selection was better than the clothes. I actually found one cute pair of shoes but I have small feet and it's impossible to find attractive shoes in my size.
To sum it up, I honestly won't be visiting this place again anytime soon. Prices are too high for what is offered. Bummer!Listed in: Twice Loved

Don't waste your time or your money. The customer service is abismal. I get the impression that if you've been shopping here for years, they are happy to gossip with you, but new customers are just a bother. In addition, the clothes are only so-so quaility, even for coinsignment (meaning I found holes and tears in many items).
I hate to give a bad review to a local business, but I want to help people avoid a terrible shopping experience. There are many other great place to spend your money. -

I have to say that having read the reviews on here, I was expecting to find an accessories jackpot. Admittedly, my OCD is against used bags and shoes, but I figured I would browse anyways. OCD was right to be weary once everything seemed to be dirty. It's like they actually just took the bags / wallets / shoes from the person and chucked them on the rack. Really, the dust couldn't have been banged off, the lint dumped out of the compartments?
Clothing wise, I found the selection to be more suited for the middle-aged crowd. Perhaps a few things for work attire or basics and such, but certainly not many great casual clothes. Even at that, my mom found a coat she could've bought had it not ended up being WAY overpriced for having been used.
I browsed almost every rack and ended up trying on about 5 garments that seemed promising. Shirts: too tight, too short, too juvenile. A shirt-dress that just didn't fit [what strange foreign company does their sizing that way?]. One dress originally from Urban Outfitters that I ended up buying due to some unique details.
SIDE NOTE: Luckily, I always examine / wash used clothing before I wear it. I found a crusty, white something dried on near the bottom hem of the dress. I don't even want to think about what that probably came from but, needless to say, it's always a good idea to give your stuff the once over - preferably before you buy. -

Perhaps I hit this shop during an off inventory time, but in general I found the clothing options to be pretty bad fashion-wise. Some priced fairly, others are somewhat outrageous (I'm looking at you $72 used Banana Republic dress). Both my shopping companion and I (whom have very different personal styles) were very disappointed with the selection.
I will say, they have some cute purses and jewelry so this is a good spot for accessories. I probably won't be taking the hike up the hill for browsing their racks, but if I am in the area I may pick up a cute pair of earrings.Listed in: Hall of Shame: 1 and 2 star…

I just love this boutique! I stumbled upon it randomly a couple years ago and when i am on 15th i make it a point to go in. It's hit or miss for if i ever find anything, but i did find a pair of Joe's jeans for $40 one time and have been attached ever since. The prices are a bit higher than Crossroads, but i think it tailors to a different crowd .. I think it's worth checking out.

I am a handbag WHORE. But also very, very cheap. So, Take 2 is totally up my alley... and my street! So I can't resist a quick trip in to peruse the handbag section.
Being a consignment store, you have to poke around - Sometimes there's nothing there, but other times! It's a landslide! A purse landslide!
Although I shouldn't be pointing anyone to the store where I've gotten mint-condition Coach and Tumi bags, (you might go in and snatch up all the cute bags!) I'm that girl that points to her consignment-store Kate Spade and goes, "Dude! $15!"
Because I'm classy like that.
So go and swipe all the Lala's out from under me, you bastards. -

I love this store. Maybe some of you hipster types think you're too edgy and uique for this place. Well, your loss is my gain. I never fail to walk out of this store without at least two pairs of shoes (BCBG, Nine West, Bebe, just to name a few). Their new stuff is current and fun, while the consignment items, especially the shoes, are of very good quality. The prices are reasonable, and the owner is fabulous and has a great eye for fashion.
So those of you who are not impressed, just keep walkin' and find yourself the latest trendy crap. I'll stick with the good stuff. -

I've walked by this place so many times, but it's always been closed, so I wasn't sure if it was a granny's consignment shop or had cool stuff. Cool stuff fo sho!
I ended up spending about $70 on things I didn't need. I am a huge fan of 2nd hand stuff, but I don't feel trendy enough for red light and I'm not fancy or skinny enough for le frock. So this is perfect.
The salesgirls weren't stuck up, let me take all 97 things into the dressing room with me, and they left me alone, which I love.Listed in: My Neighborhood, Born to Shop

I really love this little store. It is my closet away from home. When I am going out and can't find the perfect something, I wander to Take 2 and can usually find what I'm looking for. The reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is because I think their prices are a little on the high side for the "new" clothes they sell, but the consignment stuff is really reasonable!

I've consigned at Take 2 about three times and I must say this is one of the more positive consignment experiences I've had. Back home (MN) when I tried to consign they always gave me a ton of attitude. I was a Grunge Kid, so maybe now I don't blame them... Then in MD you had to pay a membership fee, which I thought was BS since I wanted to make $$, not pay $$ (to sell my own clothes). My first couple years in Seattle I donated everything to the Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Tried to sell at some of the more trendy and retro places in Capital Hill, to no avail. Then one day I realized my castoffs were now from the likes of Nordstrom and Banana Republic instead of another used clothing store, so why not try consigning?
I always feel like I get a fair deal at Take 2. They never take everything, but I've had way better luck than at certain other aforementioned hipster used clothing joints on the Hill. And they usually tell me if something is out of season, but to def bring it back in a few months. Payment can be taken as check or store credit, and you get paid about 2 months after you bring in items. They've always been nice and mailed my check to me. Also, you can opt to donate any items that are not sold, so you don't have to come back in and pick them up.
Haven't had superb luck shopping at Take 2, but on my last trip did find an adorable J Crew wool cardigan for about $16. Not too shabby! There are new clothes in the front of the store. And a nice selection of jewelry. There doesn't seem to be an obvious theme to the style or brand that they will buy/sell. I've seen Old Navy amongst higher end items. I will note that they don't seem to recognize less obvious high end labels. They didn't take a mint condition cardigan that was originally $300 at Nordstrom. But Le Frock snatched it up! Overall, it's not too trendy, not too dowdy, and kinda random.
(PS -- I am still a good person and the clothing bin down the street gets alot of my donations) -

Take 2 offers a selection of both new and used clothing, handbags, shoes, and new jewelry and hats. Great for gifts....for myself and others. Most of the new items are low to moderately priced, and are often not of very high quality--but that just means you can buy more. The used clothing is a mix of higher-end name brands to tiny, shrunken shirts that no one but a gerbil could fit into. If you're tiny, this place is great. If you're average to big, this place is good.
Sales people are usually nice and the store is clean. No Goodwill smell. Only draw back is their no-return policy, even on the new items. -

Really easy 2nd hand place to pop in and quickshop. You can get a solid feel for the entire store in about 10 minutes. It's not a place I'd go for something super hot to wear - but it's great for interesting staples to revamp your closet.
Always interesting jewelry and accessories, too. Pretty reliable on that front. -

I've been buying and selling at consignment shops for years. Initially I really liked Take 2. But in time I began to see the reality. Their customer service sucks. They treat you poorly, like you're a bother. They had an older employee who was nice but the current ones do not have a clue about customer service. You can't even get a smile out of them even if you do back flips!
IMPORTANT: I can deal with bad customer service to a certain degree. But there is a BIG issue with this store. When you bring in your items for consignment, the girls who work there (especially one, I don't know her name) price these items to their liking. MEANING: If she likes something that you brought in, she puts a lower price on it so she can buy it at a lower price before the item hits the floor. I know this for a FACT! Because it happened several times and I paid attention to make sure that what I was observing was true. I brought this issue up with the owner and she defended her employees with all her might. In a different situation this could be a strength but when you know about something immoral going on, it's a shame to stand behind it.
I like supporting women-owned businesses. When we're living in a man's world while men still make more money than women for the same job they are doing, it sucks to see women not support each other.
I am not some disgruntled customer with a personal vendetta. I could have easily not said anything. I am not writing this review for revenge. But prospective customers need to know what they're getting into when they bring in items to consign. It's all about right human relations, people. And karma is a bitch! -

Love Take 2! Great stuff, reasonable (not CHEAP!) prices, I like that since I am both a shopper and a cosigner (I don't want to consign my stuff somewhere that they are gonna mark it @ crap prices). Yeah the staff is not the friendliest, but who cares, the owner is nice, and it isn't fricken Nordstroms people.

I go into Take 2 about once a month while my daughter is at speech therapy at Group Health. (it's my only break without kids) I always seem to find something. (fyi: I must be the same age as Lisa F.'s Mom) I like to browse through the racks and find something cute and the staff is always friendly.

I've had good luck finding women's items both on consignment and in their "new" items up front. The staff seem to do a good job of selecting items that will sell, and there are lots of great options for work clothes. Stop walking by this place, and pop in.

Retail therapy at its best. I can spend a long time in this store and almost always end up with a great deal. The prices are affordable, the staff helpful, and the clothing is high quality for second hand. Every time I try to consign there I get dissed, though :-(

Some of the more unique clothing I've seen at a consignment shop--things you can wear to work and out on the town. Kind of funky, flirty, but they also have more classic pieces that won't go out of style in six months. I crane my neck and the window display ever time I drive by and wish....

I just ran in here while I was waiting for my ride. The fashion wasn't really my thing, it seemed something my mom would be into. They did seem to have a good selection of jewelery. I might give this place a second chance when I have more time to browse around.

I bought a cute dress here, only to get in the car and realize that it smelled really sweat soiled. I got out of the car and went right back inside to tell the clerk, who said "I'll give you $5 back." That wasn't even enough to have the dress cleaned. Honestly, the degree to which this dress was dirty turned me off on ever returning to the store. Yuck.

People here on Yelp are NOT exaggerating: Take 2 is, indeed, a fantastic store! It's my favorite consignment store in Seattle, even beating Labels. The deals are fantastic, the store is plenty large (read: not crammed), the clothes are modern and young, the selection is large, what else can one ask? I only wish that the tops were sorted by size, and not color, which would make browsing sooo much faster and easier. Most things are in very good condition. The handbag selection is small but really good; I bought a gorgeous blue italian hobo bag (which costs $200 new) for $25, and I saw a Crystalyn Kae ($215 new) for also $25. You know what also cost me $25? A brand new wrap dress, that looks very flattering! They have plenty of brand new clothes, for prices that I couldn't believe. I also brought some clothes to consign, and was so happy when they took 3. (My previous experiences were not good.) The downside in consigning there is, since they sell clothes for low prices, obviously you will get little money for your clothes too - but I didn't mind, it's a good deal for everybody. The girl who works there (is she the owner?) is a sweetheart, too. I will come back often!

Take 2 must have a great following as they've occupied this retail space on 15th Avenue/Capitol Hill FOREVER. I visited much more often 10 years ago so it may be more suited to the twenty-something crowd. Mix of old and new clothing plus loads of accessories and shoes. They do a good job keeping their windows newly displayed.
