This is an interesting but quiet spot to stop in for a drink on Queens BLVD near the Bliss Station (46th Street)

Lovely fireplace, lots of tables, bar, and VERY Cold beer.

I gather they at times even have Karaoke...like I said..interesting!

Don't want to feel intimidated, this is a place to try!

Haven't been to Tailors Hall in years, but it used to be one of my favorite bars of all time.  Back in the day we used to go see STAND perform there where the entire bar would transform into Neil's Stage.  Those boys rocked the house and the only reason my friends and I had ever traveled from Tarrytown NY to Tailors Hall was because of them.  We had then discovered this great little bar on queens blvd.  I would love to go back and have a drink one of these days!

The "Real" tailors are all but gone. The people, the bartenders all left starting in late 01-03 when the Celtic tiger started to roar and immigration became a pain in the arise. That and the downward Manhattan economy right after 9/11- 04 had folks packing.  Remember James, Katrina and the gang? Those who do smile those who don't read on without a thought.
Then it was sold to some eastern Europeans, Bulgarians who tried to turn it into a 'disco' 'world music'-space is far too small.  Mixed Drinks were 4.00-4.50 what you expect to pay in Sunnyside. When they changed hands the first thing to change was the price. They now charge Manhattan prices for a queen's pub. Na, I don't think so. The other thing they did was keep the doors closed all day until 5:00pm.  Lastly, the beloved buyback does not exist in this place.
Tailors at its heyday was the best local  winter Irish pub off of 45th and bliss on a row of city blocks that had many a Irish pub to choose from. A great place to grab a drink off the 7 train and meet new people from all walks of like. Smaller then the huge success story that was Blooms before the fire , Tailors was generally a good winter bar as it was small enough to be cozy with a nice hearth but big enough to stretch your legs if you wanted to. Sundays had traditional Irish jam sessions and Saturdays saw a few good local bands. I hear the local bands still play there once in a while but it's nothing like it used to be.
