Tailgators is one of the best places for BBQ in Edison Park. Prices are very reasonable (read: cheap) and portions are big.
I recommend their ribs, beef brisket, and pulled pork sandwiches.
Note: Parking in the Edison Park area may be a challenge.
Ever since I discovered Tailgators, I haven't Barbequed ribs at home. Their ribs have that true smoked flavor & their "Sweet Baby Ray's" sauce gives it just the right kick. You MUST try their fantastic real onion rings, which I believe are prepared in a beer batter. Their Steak fries are the best that I've tasted. I do not know how they produce such a quality product at such reasonable prices . (NO, I'm not related & know no one from there). Don't go there on Monday's for their "Buy a full slab & get a half slab free, because it will ruin it for those of us loyalists who routinely get it then. My only regret is that Chicagoland will discover this GEM & their success will ruin their quaint & quality menu. Oh, the negative comment is this: their pulled pork sandwich has too much meat & is a bit too wet. None the less, this place rates a full sixpack rating!( What a country!!!)

Has anyone ever seen that old sketch from SNL where "Da Bears "guys sit around and talk about" Da Chicago Bears"? Well, this is the place for them. Even their name fits in with football fans. I recommend the pulled pork or beef brisket sandwich. Some of their sides and other items on their menu are just fair. Friendly staff and a very down home atmosphere.

Holy crap this place is my favorite for BBQ even before Smokedaddy's. It's quick, cheap, clean, and the service is friendly. They won the Taste of Chicago best bbq using Sweet Baby Ray's sauce. The sweet potato fries, pulled chicken, and onion rings are great.

We tried to go here on a Friday night at 6:30 and it was closed. We were starving. There was much disappointment. There is no sign on the door with the hours, so who knows if it's still open or what the hours are....
I'm now officially boycotting it.
man i haven't been here in YEARS but it was damn freaking awesome.
the food was cheap cheap cheap and really really really good and big portions. my friends and i would frequent here after school and get 2 baskets of fries and eat them and talk. or we'd get real food but we were 13. didn't have much money and the baskets of fries were $2 and huge so that was good enough.
their chicken sandwiches were amazing too. mmm...i want to go back.
but they have weird hours sometimes. some afternoons they'd randomly be closed.

This is, without a doubt, the best BBQ I have ever consumed!! Run to Edison Park and partake in some amazing stuff. I had the Texas beef brisket which was lean, juicy and very soft. Their sides are great too. I tried the potato salad and coleslaw and loved 'em. The guy who runs this place is also a super cool guy. A modest looking place with first rate food.
