This place is o.k. nothing fancy nor anything to hype about. I stayed here on one of the biggest holiday weekends and paid $150. It was a decent area that was located off the beach area, but i didnt get a "view" of it since the room was off to the side.
Speaking of the room it was pretty big size due to it being handicap room and the room on the bottom floor, but one down fall is that its right next to the laundry room. If your a heavy sleeper then its not a problem but if not like myself you'll be awaken a couple of times. I think its a bummer spot even if your handicap or not.
The bed was very stiff and the bedding was low end with only 1 down blanket, 1 sheet, and 2 small pillows. The service was good and very nice people working with great customer service, but I wasnt really impressed with it. If your just looking for a roof over your head for the night this is your place.
Great view of Tahoe. Lodge is clean and comfortable to start at. Now for the other stuff. Place is in bad need of an upgrade. We stayed in a regular room on the ground floor. The person above us when they walked we could hear the floor creak all night. Just an old shower with no tub and a showerhead that spewed out water with no spray pattern. Towels were of a good size and clean. Old key type locks on the door, which means very poor security. Since it is behind a CVS Drug Store and right off the highway anybody could break into your room and be gone in a flash.
I stayed at the Lakeshore Lodge last weekend and it was great. The rooms are a bit dated: there's no safety shut-off on the coffee pot, the shower could use some work, small stuff like that. Personally, it doesn't bother me. I paid $125 for a two-bed room, and when I arrived they gave me a free up-grade to a corner suite. It was literally right. on. the. beach. Fantastic view! Just fantastic. I was really impressed. It looked like all the rooms had a view of the lake, although not all were on the beach since it's a multiple-story building. You are very literally next to the lake though. Some of the hotels I had looked at online said they were lakeside, but they lied. Lakeshore Lodge is what it claims to be.

Recently stayed at this place for our wedding. Rented one of the "romance condo`s" right on the beach, a bit dinky for the price but the 2 man jetted tub in the living room was great. Small wood burning fireplace that you had to buy firewood for?
Bed was hard as a rock and sheets were very, very scratchy & low quality, seemed a rip @ $300 a night.
Kitchen was small but cute with all the stuff one would need. Pretty hot in the summer and the rinky dink fan was barely working.. no air conditioning :(
Nice view from our room but had been promised "right on the beach" and it was only partially true....
The wedding spot was gorgeous and perfect but the hotel could use some improvement.
