I bookmarked this place over a year ago and I finally made it.
Our group of 7 had a great dinner at Tahoe. We found parking on the street and jaywalked to the backside where the entrance is. The service was great (based on what I've heard, the service is a hit or miss but this night it was a HIT!).
I was impressed with the quality of the meats for this AYCE. The banchan was also good. One side note...fish cake please!! The steamed egg was perfect and yes...they brought out the soup. I've had issues with Korean joints stiffing me on my soybean paste soup. What? You think a Thai chick won't like the soup? NO SOUP FOR YOU! Anyhow, it was all good.
The price was totally right in this economy. I would definitely return....very very hungry!
Oh, BTW you don't stank when you leave. AWESOME!
good food but i dont think the employees like customers anymore :p
ive given you plenty of chances but...alas.
I USED TO LOVE YOU. YOU USED TO BE MY #1. WHY'D YOU HAVE TO GO AND CHANGE!?

Came here sometimes after 1PM but it was still crowded. The wait wasn't too bad though. Since it was still lunch time, we picked $9.99 AYCE for 3 items (brisket, chicken & pork belly). Majority of us only eat the brisket so $9.99 it was. Overall this place is just alright. Just like any other places, you get side dishes like kimchee, bean sprouts, rice paper, etc etc. Those were just okie.
I must admit, the atmosphere here is nice and the restaurant is clean itself but I was not pleased with their service. They were friendly people but they took forever with everything. We rang the bell 3x but still waited for awhile. I can't imagine how long it would take during dinner time. They definitely need bigger parking space too!
The food is ok, but the service can use some improvement.
$18 all-you-can-eat is a decent deal, with decent kind of meats (4 kinds of beef, 1 kind of pork and chicken).
What really killed it is the service. We had to ASK for several things that are typically just given / provided (rice paper, salad, water, tongs, meats, replace the grill).
They consistently took away the empty plates roughly 3 times and didn't ask do we want any more bbq meats. The last time the waiter took away the plate and asked "are you done?". We said no and expected the check. 15 min later I had to get up and flag down someone just to get the check. It's like they just disappeared on us.
I hate to say it, but I have gotten better service at Manna Korean BBQ on Olympic (not to say Manna provides the best service anyway).
I have treated & been treated to some Tahoe Galbi. It's spacious & clean & you will smell like Korean BBQ upon leaving.
I like the atmosphere, the fresh brisket, kimchi, the fact that they have waitstaff selling bottles of soju to customers & the ice cold bottle of Hite to top off my meal.
If you're not a fan of Manna's tent-quality restaurant, then I would say TG is a great alternative!
3.5
I came here on Monday with a group of people for my friend's birthday. This restaurant is quite big. It feels cleaner than some other AYCE Korean BBQ places, so that's a plus. The marinated rib eye and marinated beef brisket stood out the most. They were pretty good. The salad was good too. The rice wrapper ehh.. The banchan was alright. They had typical stuff like bean sprouts, broccoli, fish cake, kimchi, and jelly. The soju was A-OK. :)
Service was pretty whatever. I think we had to keep asking them for things we already asked them for. That's why they don't get more stars. But they were pretty friendly for the most part...just a bit forgetful.
Oh, and since we had 13 people, a lot of people wanted to use their credit cards. They limited us to 4 credit cards, so I took mine back and paid in cash. I wasn't too happy about that. :(
As for parking, there is valet parking and street parking w/ meters. If you're coming after 6, you might as well park at the meters since it's free.
I'm somewhat of a carnivore, so when I hear "All You Can Eat Korean BBQ", I'm sold...especially if it's at Tahoe Galbi!!!! yum. totally worth $18 a person, so come hungry! i love it here & oh boy do I love my MEAT!! The wait sucks unless you're lucky and it's late in the afternoon, but the food definitely makes up for it. Service is great most of the time I've come here, they're really fast. The waiters and waitresses always look like they're in a race or something ... like who can serve the most tables the fastest haha. They speed-walk through the aisles and try to make sure everyone has what they need. They're pretty attentive too, for the times i've been. They change our grill, adjust the temp of the fire, take away plates, ask if we want more side dishes, refill water, all without us having to ask.
I usually order the beef brisket, bulgolgi, galbi, and porky belly. My friend always tells me the pork belly is like korean bacon, because the sound of "pork belly" kinda makes me cringe. hahaha.
& omg, forget the rice. I looooove the rice paper wrapper!!! so delicious :) wrap your meat in it with some lettuce and dip it in the sauce! (i can do w/o the peanut sauce though, yuck..peanuts!) My friend tells me that the rice paper have wayyy more carbs than just a regular bowl of rice, BUT WHO CARES! it's magically delicious, haha. I can forget about my non-carb diet for Tahoe Galbi any day!
oh & come to Tahoe Galbi expecting to smell exactly like what you just ate. but don't worry, it's worth it.
$17.99 all you can eat Korean BBQ is not to Shabby :)
Celebrated my sister's 1 yr anniversary with my family. This place is very clean. The service was ehh. Nobody came when we pushed the button so we had to flag down the waiters.
Quality of meat is not bad. Side dishes are good. I would say try it and see for yourself.
Nice place, delicious food at a great price- but I felt kinda screwed when I saw that my Diet Coke cost a quarter of the price of my food! Broiled mackerel lunch = $7.99, but $2.00 for Diet Coke?!? Next time I'm getting water, thanks! The lunch was really good though, and the piece of fish was huge! In Japanese restaurants, that dish is called "saba" and I always love it but it usually costs more and you get less. At Tahoe, I got a giant piece of fish, plus rice, a spicy miso-like soup, and the ban-chan dishes, for only $7.99! The AYCE lunch deal looked really good too, I must try that some time. The interior of the place really surprised me, because it looks very dull and kinda junky from the outside. Inside, it is spacious, bright, clean, and it has a little waterfall/garden area outside the windows instead of a view of the street. Nice! Great lunch, I will be back soon!
With this new health craze sweeping through the country and everyone saying that it's not a good idea to eat too much, this is still one of the few places that I let myself go and try to stuff as much food as I can.
The place is generally pretty crowded so that's a good sign that the meat is fresh. The rib eye, brisket, and tongue all tasted pretty good. The chicken, I thought was very average but who really goes to eat chicken at a Korean BBQ place anyway. The side dishes were typical for a korean restaurant, nothing special. I do like the salad and the rice paper though.
The great part about all you can eat BBQ is that hours later, not only are you still full, but you also still smell great from the bbq.
This is probably my second favorite Korean BBQ place in Ktown right behind Hae Jang Chon (Honey Pig). I would still recommend this place. Prepare to come here on an empty stomach.
ITs a good place. The prices cannot be beat. However, I like old fashioned charcoal based Korean BBQ
comparing this to Manna, this place is always busy too and they only valet when there's no parking out in the streets!
This place is more cleaner and better than Manna even though I prefer Manna due to the entertainment and the quality of meat.
Price is $17.99 for AYCE too!
Bye-bye Manna!
Tahoe beats you, in everything. Well, except the friendly atmosphere I guess.
This place is pretty great, especially for the all you can eat deal. It's about $19 per person before taxes and without ordering drinks -- very reasonable. As with most Korean restaurants, it's best to go with a friend who speaks Korean so there is no confusion with the ordering, if you don't know the names of everything you want. The waitstaff isn't super friendly to non-Korean speakers, in my experience, but they will usually still take care of you when you ask for things.
They don't take reservations for parties under a certain number (I think ten or so people?), so I generally like to get there about 6, especially on weekends before the crowds hit.
The food here is delicious, they change your grills frequently and the side dishes are all pretty good. The restaurant itself is a lot nicer than Manna, and while they had a B health rating the last time I was there, I personally see it as a good thing. As a rule, if an asian place has an A, the food can't be THAT authentic or good. I have found that asian places with Bs are generally the tastiest, and I've never gotten sick from places with Bs, so... there you have it!
Long story short, Tahoe Galbi is my favorite place in LA for KBBQ.
I've been meaning to sign-up on yelp and review this place for some time, so here it is.
When it comes to AYCE, I think this place is one of the best in LA. Don't be deterred by the long line. Better yet, show up at 6pm and there won't be a line (lines start forming at around 7pm nightly). They only take reservations if your group is larger than 10, btw.
$17.99 for the AYCE. Good typical banchan (kimchi, spicy veggies, potato salad, rice noodle wraps, etc.). They start you off with a bean soup (not for me), and the steamed egg (love it!). For meats, I usually stick with the chadol baegi (thin-sliced beef) and galbi (thick marinated beef). I'm content with those two meats, and maybe the pork belly, for the entire night. My friends like to venture off to the gross stuff like beef tongue, which they say is good, if you're into making out with cows. Alcohol is pricey, though. $6-8 for beer, $10+ for soju, but goes so well with the greasy meats.
Service is tolerable, we just ring the bell if we need something, and ring it again if no one comes within a few minutes.
At the end of the night, you come away smelling like what you ate, but who's to complain after all that good food? The ventilation system is decent, but at least it's existent compared to Manna. All in all, it's my dependable kbbq place whenever I need my hot beef injection.
Good deal for Korean BBQ. $18 for all you can eat galbi! We were really full after just 1.5 plates of galbi...so I think ordering a-la-carte might be a better deal for light-weight carnivores. We loved that Tahoe had rice noodle wrappers! :)
Still on the hunt for our ultimate Korean BBQ place. Suggestions welcome.
Current rankings:
1. Park's BBQ
2. Tahoe Galbi
Tahoe used to be the place to go for all you can eat BBQ, but has bagan to suffer since becomming one of the mainstream BBQ spots.
I try to stay away from Tahoe because the parking situation is hectic and only valet. Once you park, there is always a long wait to be seated.
The wait staff is not as friendly and welcoming as other smaller AYCE BBQ spots. We kept having to ask for more Salad, sesame oil, kimchi, and Rice Paper. They started getting stingey on the rice paper and told us they ran out...after giving some to our neighboring table...and kept forgetting to bring us salad.
The 1st plate of meat is always pretty good....but the 2nd and 3rd plates become B and C rated meat.
I'm surprised I've taken this long to write this review. Simply because I've been here so many times already. I only know two words in Korean, Bulgogi and Kalbi (Galbi...I said 'know' not spell). It seems to be enough here though. This place is like most of the Korean BBQs joints found in K-town or Wilshire anyway. The prices are average for this kind of fare. There is a main dining area with breakaway private rooms for larger parties. Also there is an adjacent patio area.
Food: I've only had all you can eat like most reviewers here. I again order the only two things I know. Oh wait, I did order the Beef Brisket. It ended up like unseasoned Beef Bowl. Ok but needs more flavor. The Bulgogi and Kalbi were delicious. The rice is that perfect sticky that it hard pressed to find at home unless you specifically buy that rice...found at your neighborhood Japanese markets...
Parking: Valet...but it's like $2.50 or something...
Overall: It's one of the better places out there. Good bang for your buck and worth the visit. Do it just to prove me wrong if that's what it takes. Have a great one, Yelpers.
LUNCH SPECIAL $10 ALL YOU CAN EAT!!
Yes, this spot is great for groups and fun dinging with friends. All you can eat fresh beef brisket, chircken, and pork for $10 between 11am-2pm. Its a great deal and oh so delicious. MY buddy showed me the ropes, you order garlic and butter and surround the grill with it while your brisket cooks, wrap meat and cooked garlic it w/the noodle wrap and lettuce and dip it in spicy dipping sauce and you will be in heaven. Yummy...I think I'll be going there today.
A college friend and her husband treated me and my other half here for dinner a week ago. For the price of $17.99/person, the long drive from East Bay to LA was worth it. We have an assigned server on our table but it was nice that other servers walking by our way happily obliged on our refill requests.
I can't help but be envious of the Koreans who can eat a whole cow and manage to stay skinny long after dinner. And don't get me started with their flawless, poreless skin. My genes are working against me. Damn my mother, her mother, and her mother-in-law too! Just kidding Mom, you know I love you.
This is great for large groups because you can make reservations for a private room. They have AYCE bbq but not everyone in your group has to order it....people can order regular items on the menu.
Items for AYCE include: tongue, brisket, galbi, bulgogi, marinated chicken, and pork belly. I would recommend all of them! My favorites are the chicken, galbi and tongue.
Also, they held a birthday cake in the fridge until I went out to the host to retrieve it. Then I turned off the lights in our private room and sang "happy birthday" to our friend. What a great way to end a great meal.
Came here for lunch today based on high recommendations... the lunch special Monday thru Friday prices were VERY reasonable and the quality of the food was amazing.
Mool NaengMyung $4.99 ~ A
Galbi Tang $5.99 ~ A
Seafood Bibimbap ~ B
Kimchee ~ A
Banchan ~ A
Update: Came here for All You Can Eat Dinner and the meats were just okay nothing special so changing rating down to 3
Perhaps it was an off night, but Tahoe was a fat disappointment. It was my cousin's friend's pick. Although not a fan of AYCE, I would've steered them toward Road to Seoul if the group wanted AYCE, that's for sure. At any rate, since I've heard Tahoe's is all right, I didn't expect the sub-par quality. Although not what most would probably make a mental note of (or perhaps even care about) at a meatfest, the banchan and rice wrapping paper were just sad. Among the five dishes of banchan, the only thing I touched was the potato salad which passed muster with its cubes of crisp apple. The rice paper was definitely not fresh. I could tell because it wouldn't separate easily. All slices were nearly glued together as a square block. Terrible. And it had that lack of bounce or elastic quality, as rice cake can fall victim to (not jjol gi jjol gi) when sitting somewhere too long.
Moving on to the most important element--the meat. The meat seemed promising at first. You step in and it smells great--that mouthwatering scent of marinated short ribs cooking over charcoal. Scratch that, they don't use charcoal here, which is confounding because it gets suffocatingly smoky here. My eyes were watering. For the suffering, they might as well smoke it up a notch and get the barbeque to taste better with charcoal. Scratch that, L.A. is a litigious city and a notch up could be carcinogenic. The chadol was okay, fairly tasty, and fattier than usual. The beef tongue was way too tough and chewy. Marinated galbi was okay and pork belly was a skip (high fat, minimal flavor). I didn't eat much. Filled up later at Ice Kiss.
Finally, the service. A big "meh." They are just not on the ball here. But, they are crazy busy with a clientele that spans the globe and generations. The usually reliable button seems ignored and thus, abused with "ding dongs" heralding all night long from frustrated patrons.
The hubby and I have had dreams about this place. Just $17 per person for ALL YOU CAN EAT Korean BBQ! That's crazy-talk, but it's true!
You sit down at one of those tables with the grill in the middle; they take your order; then they bring you an entire table full of salad, soup, meats, sauces, etc. and you just go to town grilling up whatever you want.
Lots of groups here - families, college students, double-dates, etc. It's a really fun place for a group outing since there is so much food to be eaten.
They serve Soju drinks or Korean beers, but not much else. It's best to drink water because you're going to be downing a lot of salty meat products. Seriously, I think you should "train" for this place before arriving.
Good thing I don't live closer to L.A., so I'm guaranteed just one or two visits per year!
A friend of mine wanted to set up a party for about 25 people here, so I helped him out by checking out Tahoe and setting up the reservation.
They spoke excellent English (not always a guarantee when you call a Korean restaurant) and even showed me two different options for seating.
We ended up going with the private upstairs room, which worked out GREAT. I liked that we were all seated together and could talk (and laugh) as loudly as we liked without the added noise of other people's talking and laughter.
The service was excellent -- we never wanted for meat. We had five different kinds of meat: CHADOL BEGI (sliced beef brisket), BULGOGI (marinated beef), DAEJEE GOGI (marinated pork), SAM GYUP SAL (pork belly -- excellent quality here. I don't like the sam gyup sal at most places, but I totally loved it here), and, of course, the GALBI (marinated short rib meat).
They also gave us plenty of BANCHAN (little korean side dishes) and refilled us whenever we needed refilling.
We also got DWENJANG JIGAE (bean paste soup), which was decent, and NAENGMYUN (cold buckwheat noodle soup) -- MAN, the naengmyun was so much better than I ever expected at an AYCE place.
I'm dirt poor so I can't afford to eat here often, but I'd definitely recommend it for large groups -- they did a great job of handling us.
Great place for all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ. The prices are reasonable, the restaurant is clean, and the service is attentive.
The quality of the meat is good, as good as I've had at other Korean bbq places (is there even such a thing as bad K-bbq? I'm sure there is, but I haven't found it yet!).
So, the meal runs like any other K-bbq: You order, and they bring out the banchan (sides), which are good (no complaints from me). Then comes the meat... ooooh man, highlights for me were definitely the beef tongue (always one of my favorites... great flavor, the texture is just different than meat that you're used to, but its easy to get used to) and the galbi marinated beef. Oooooh yes (I'm oooh-ing just thinking of it). And the servers will help you cook your food at your table, which is great until they put more meat than you can eat at that moment and suddenly you're overwhelmed because all the meat is done at once and you can only grab them so fast with your sub-par chopstick skills! But if the biggest problem was that there was too much meat, I would say that you've got little to worry about. Except finding a parking space (for those of my fellow anti-Valet's out there!).
Best AYCE Korean BBQ in koreatown. The meat are fresh and the AYCE price is rock solid at 16.99 per person. They have variety of meat ranging from beef brisket to chicken to their signature Galbi. The decor of this setting is set up beautifully with the indoor section of the restaurant representing high class luxurious environment with many plasma televisions. The outdoor is set up with the peaceful mindset with the windows near a waterfall setting with couple of plasma televisions. THe only burden is the line can be extremely long during Friday and Saturday nights, with another obstacle of having to deal with the valet employees. Overall, definitely worth the price of its admission.
cons
- not that many available sides (but come on the weekends and they have glass noodles) one of the best.
-all the way in korean town
- only valet is available in their parking lot.
- dirty bathroom
- air filter isn't amazing, you'll leave smelling like the place.
pros
- 18 bucks for AYCE!
- good enough quality meats
- friendly service (many not be the best, but friendly)
one of the best korean BBQ in LA. WHY? it's their dipping sauce. The meat quality isn't comparable to say PARKS (another korean BBQ restaurant) but the sauce is amazing.
my advice for coming here?
-come hungry
-come with friends
- come wearing nothing you wanna dry-clean
- don't valet...you can easily find street parking
- don't be afraid to tap away at the call button. not the best service.
last but not least
come 2 hours before closing. They stop serving meats 30minutes prior to closing and if you want more....to bad... also, they will rush to get you out of there.
Eh. Not so fab anymore... it's still ok and i'll still go, but I just feel like both the quality and service went down... Perhaps it's the economy? downsizing staff and reducing costs?
Also, I know Koreans like to smoke and eat, but I'm not down with being automatically sat outdoors in the smoking section. Who wants to eat with cig smoke all around you? not very appetizing.... now drinking and smoking is something different (although i'm trying to change that as well)

The BEST Korean BBQ in KTown! or so i believe anyway. you are entitled to your own opinions but anywho, my friend had a coupon so three seriously protein deprived girls went. I'm going to say the three of us right now LOVE gogi so we go to different Korean BBQ restaurants once in a while to get our fill and when we eat we PIG the eff out.
So we got there, was seated promptly without a reservation (thursday night around 8pm) though there were a LOT of people. I noticed that it was very ethnically diverse and my immediate thoughts were to bring my Jordanian friend who's been turned off to Korean food. It's definitely clean, furnishings looked new, well kept and managed, overall impressive.
Food. It was amazing. Granted I was starving but they had the BEST galbi I've ever had. and what I LOVED was their salad. They gave you plenty and kept it coming so you felt less guilty about the absurd and unhealthy amount of meat you were consuming and I like salad. It was like my mom's with pepper flakes and soy sauce. I don't remember much else except they had really yummy eggs too but that's everywhere. Overall excellent service (kept coming by and kept everything coming), amazing food, clean facilities; I definitely recommend and can't wait to go back!
Love this place. All you can eat Korean BBQ. Tons of meat, tons of sides. Perfect for large groups and so much fun with a bigger group. Clean, A-Rated (unlike other Korean BBQ establishments in Koreatown).
Definitely would recommend.
I will preface this by saying that I haven't eaten at a lot of Korean BBQ places but they don't even compare to this place!
First off, San Diego doesn't even compare to the L.A. food scene! Everything in San Diego opens later, closes early, and just doesn't have the variety and authenticity.
With that said, For an AYCE Korean BBQ, this place rocks!
The service was pretty decent, the meat quality was good and tasty, and the price is right! For 3 of us it came to $59 for food and drinks.
Definitely worth your time for a visit!
To commence my recent trip to Socal, I met up with some good ol' friends from L.A. And what better way to celebrate a timely reunion than to have a nice meal of Korean BBQ. Our group was about 13 people but Tahoe Galbi does a better job at accommodating even larger groups. I once came here with a group of 20 or so people and trust me, the place is good for it. They'll do you proper.
On to the food. Among their many endless side dishes, I highly love the steamed egg (but usually save room for the MEAT). Although, I wish our service was more on top of replenishing our sides. We ordered a vast helping of the ribs and the brisket. Eggplant as well. The brisket is usually everyone's favorite. It's very tender and goes just great with the rice. No matter what, I would always at least have the brisket. Also, I ordered a Hite beer along with my meal. Just cuz I felt like it and I needed something to help me unwind. The servers do a good job of changing the grills as well. Props to you guys. So between the 13 of us, we paid about $22-24 individually, depending if we ordered additional items (ie: beer).
Strangely, the place was quite busy on a Tuesday night. But who am I to say that, I don't live here. It's gigantic and seems pretty lively. So business is always good there. But the one thing I really don't appreciate is the Valet parking. Yea, yea I know, the place is located in one of the busiest parts of Los Angeles. But if you're lucky, you can always find a spot in the nearby residential areas. I know I did. However, proceed with caution. It's not the most glamorous of neighborhoods....if you know what I mean. BUT, no matter how far you park, you'll know the meal will be worth the walk.
So as a disclaimer, I haven't been to many other KBBQ spots before (though I wish I did). So I don't know what's best or what's cheap. Cuz that's what Yelp is for. My friends suggested this place and so I trust their judgment. And well, they know the KBBQ joints more than I do, especially in L.A. I'm from the Bay Area. Do the math.
I just knew that on this night, the food complimented the company greatly. And what better way to bring people together than an enormous helping of Korean BBQ. Seriously, you'll know you've had a meal worth eating when you come home smelling like it.
The food was pretty good and I would eat here again if the opportunity were to present itself, but I had to take away 2 stars for getting our order wrong and slow service. Despite the doorbell device at each table (much like steward bells on airplanes), the service was lacking. When we rang it, it took forever to summon someone over. The woman who took our order gave us 2 orders of 2a which means we were charged an extra 25 bucks or so. None of the wait staff ever seemed to understand what we wanted whether it be rice, spoons, boxes, how many items we ordered. They gave us 2 smaller dishes on the house. It also took forever to get our check. Another crazy thing was a bus boy or something knocked over a huge stack of small plastic bowls behind us and it was the loudest crash I ever heard. It was an eventful night.
Before tip, the bill for 5 of us came to $140. Bare in mind they over charged us for their mistake and we did not get the all you can eat BBQ.
This place has kind of a weird entrance, it doesn't face the main street. It was packed on Saturday night when we arrived around 8:30pm. For a party of 5 of us we ended up having to wait 30 minutes.
All You Can Eat = Good
Pretty good quality ssamgyups, chadol, joomuluk = good
Enough soju to go around = good
Clean atmosphere = good
Decent service = uuummm, you're in KTown
Overall, if you're in the area and you feel like some good Korean BBQ, head over their with your friends.
I do recommend bringing an extra T-shirt cause otherwise you'll be smelling like Korean BBQ all night.
always make it a point to go there for my korean bbq cravings.. all you can eat and the good quality. service is great!
Probably my favorite all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ place in LA, price considered. Don't come here on a Friday or Saturday night without reserving a table (im not even sure they do that) you WILL wait at least 30 minutes, usually longer. The place is kind of hectic, the place is packed, the waiters are running around and you can hear all the people talking and meat sizzling. I prefer the inner rooms rather than the side tables next to the waterfall, but thats just me.
You get seated, the bring out the banchan, which is ok. But come on its all you can eat meat, who the hell wants to fill up on fish cakes and bean sprouts ? Anyways, we always start of with the cha dol which is thinly sliced brisket. Make sure it has some fat, if its too lean it will taste bland and chewy, don't be afraid to send it back either they will just dump it on someone else's table. I love their soy sauce - sauce, I always dip it then roll it in the rice paper.
Then the after 2 or 3 servings of the brisket (not myself ofcourse.. hehe) get the marinated galbi. I prefer rice with this instead of rice paper. The galbi is pretty good, the marinade adds some flavor. I also like the salad, pretty good. After the galbi, usually the other people at my table pick. Don't bother with the chicken because 1. its chicken and 2. its not that good. I would also skip the pork belly, its just average but if you like it cook it with kim chi on top - yum. If you like intestines, go for it, it tastes like chewy nothingness to me though.
Yes the parking lot is tiny for the amount of cutomers - just park across the street on Ingraham - problem solved and you save a dollar =).
The price is $18 now, it used to be around $15 which is significant imo, I don't come here often but its worth it once in a while.
I've been to other places in LA avoid - Manna (for old people singing karaoke and smoking), Family Gathering (?) - Its called ga jok hae wan or something in korean but this place sucks, just take my word and avoid it. Oh Dae San - horrible customer serive, usually packed for dinner. They gave me overcooked rice 3 times before they gave me good rice (oh, they just made it -_-) and their meat was awful. They do have a $10 special but you only get cha dol and pork belly (i think).
This place screams awesomeness...Almost everything is excellent. The meats are excellent for a AYCE Korean BBQ...some of the best actually. The place looks pretty nice too. The sides are great too.
What displeases me is the services. Our waiter helped us once in our 2 hour visit. We kept pressing the buzzer for service, but nada. I had to keep asking the host and a different waiter for refills of sides, meat, water, and even liqour. WTH?!
This place could easily be my fave KBBQ place, but the service is just awful.
A clean establishment with pretty solid food especially for AYCE. The service isn't that great though, but serviceable enough for me to not get fed up with. They give you a lot of banchan (side dishes) along with some pretty good tasting meats. I always love the galbi the best, but I can eat almost all of it.
The prices are definitely fair, and make sure you to make full use of the service button located on top of the table otherwise you're going to be waiting a pretty good while if you want service because it gets pretty chaotic in there at times. At the end of your meal, they serve you gyeran jjim (steamed egg custard). One of the places I'd prefer over other Korean BBQ places around the area.
Oh the beef is so good and it's all you can eat! So eat it all or they'll charge you extra!
Really quality, juicy galbi and bulgogi. You definitely have to go here with a few people if you plan on getting your money's worth of food. It's somewhere close to $20/person for all you can eat. Bring someone who can really put it away.
They serve some decent soju of course and Korean beer.
