The man behind the counter was awesome! He insisted on handing out samples of yummy truffles (and I'm not a truffle girl) and chatting with us about novelty gums like Teaberry and Black Jack and then trying to get us hooked on gummy grapefruits. Not at all stingy with the samples!
We left with a bag of really good peanut brittle - mild and smooth (and not OLD), sweedish fish and a cup of great coffee too.
This will likely become a Tahoe routine!

Look, I love free samples, and the guy behind the counter practically shoved them down our throats.
However, he was also a complete douche.
I know some people just have weird senses of humor, and that's fine and dandy. However, having some over-40 burnout snap sarcastic comebacks at me every time I ask a question is not going to entice me to buy your stuff, no matter how yummy it looks. Sometimes, when I ask a question, I just want an ANSWER.
Also, those samples? We had to slide them off of a knife that he shoved at us when we walked through the door. Again, guy, you're not funny, nor are you totally rad, dude!! You're just some freak who scares away customers.

We stopped in TC Chocolates for a coffee since they have espresso drinks, but the extremely nice lady behind the counter gave my son, husband, and I candy samples as soon as we walked in.  Once I saw some of their unusual candy options like blueberry jalapeno chocolates, I had to walk out of there with a few sweets to try.  So far I have tasted the blue agave tequila and avocado ginger chocolates, and they were unbelievably good.  I want to go back to stock up on more chocolates before we leave town tomorrow, but that would be a very bad idea for my waistline.

Definitely check it out if you love sweets, and try one of the ice cream and espresso drinks for me!

After lunch today, I was particularly craving a piece of chocolate...just some small, rich, delicious treat.  I've also been craving Swedish fish lately.  And then I remembered the little candy shop in the Boatworks Mall, and they had both!  A delicious German chocolate truffle for me, another truffle for the bf, and a pack of Swedish fish for the ride home.  Yay. :-)

My only complaint would be that they only sell fudge in packages of four big slices...and it would be really dangerous for me to buy that much fudge.  I'd prefer to be able to choose my own size, thank you very much.

Shh...I didn't tell you about this. ;-) This place has long been a family post-boating favorite.  Their homemade candy is good, but i usually go for the ice cream (even though its just Dreyer's or something). My personal fav is bubblegum---blue-tinted vanilla with real bubblegum balls, complete with a baggie to spit the bubblegum balls into (to save for later of course), haha.
