I recently discovered this pizza joint because I had to walk home from work (damned SEPTA strike!) and I find the pizza fresh and delicious.

My favorite is the Bianca pizza which has a healthy garlic and herb taste to it and little cherry or grape tomatoes hidden under the cheese. Normally, I hate fresh tomatoes on a pizza but this place turned me around. It's like the tomatoes make a sauce on your tongue as you chew. Surprisingly awesome experience; A must try!

I also recommend the Quattro Formaggio pizza which is super tasty and you can taste all the cheese together working in harmony and it's not just one giant slab of mozzarella and a sprinkling of other cheeses like other cheapo places.

Speaking of price, the last time I had pizza by the pound was in Florence and yes, it's always a little more than you imagined to pay but I disagree with people who think it's rip off. After all, this is not a food truck! (There is only so much brown sauce and metal container food a girl can take.) If you are money conscious, it's probably best to ask the staff about prices and tell them how much you want to pay i.e. "I'd like a $5 slice of ____" or "Hey I only have 2 bucks...what can I get?"

The staff is so nice here and genuinely want to make sure you have a good meal. You can tell they are into the food and eat it themselves which is always a good sign for any eatery.

I"ve had pizza in a lot of different places across the U.S. Good pizza is good pizza and doesn't have to be in NYC or Chicago. I've had some great pizza in Virginia and some great pizza in a little hole in the wall in South Jersey. What they have in common is fresh ingredients, attention to detail. You get a slice that is cooked and cooked well but not too well.

Taglio's looked promising. Lot's of custom made slices with ingredients that made my hungry mouth water. I ended up getting a sausage and red pepper slice and a slice with panchetta on it. The whole cutting the pizza with a scissors was odd. Likewise I was too hungry or too tired to realize that they charge by mass. So the bigger the slice the more $$$. My total for two slices with soda=$13 something. Ouch

Once my slices were warmed up I dug in. The sausage and peppers slice was not great. The sausage wasn't very spicy or flavorful and it was kinda dry. The red peppers(of which I am a huge fan), were mushy and tasted like they'd been around for a while. The pizza/red sauce on the slice was also mild and had no real hint of garlic in it. The panchetta slice was tastier, but again the red sauce/pizza sauce left much to be desired.

Service was friendly and reasonably quick. The space is nice and bright and well lit and fairly clean.

I can't really see coming back. Man I miss Rustica on 11th St.

I stopped by Taglio looking for something new, something interesting, something tasty. They offered pizza and pasta by the pound... that was the first indication that I was about to be ripped off. I ended up getting some square pizza that didn't even fill a 8" x 8" box. I got about half a box of brocolli rabe pizza and less than half a box of mushroom, olive, and some meat pizza (this was more expensive). The pizza wasn't quite deep dish, more like a french bread pizza level of thickness. This serving cost me $12.31. $12.31!! Now, I don't mind shelling out good money for good food... but it's not like this pizza was topped with foie gras or caviar. It wasn't even served to me, it was takeout. After I picked out my slices, they were tossed in the oven for a few minutes. By the time I got home (less than 10 minutes later) they were somewhere between cold and luke warm.

So... $12.31 for some barely warm pizza with some interesting toppings. As if broccoli rabe is some premium topping! C'mon! This place seems to be somehow affiliated with Gia Pronto, which I enjoy, but they've overshot the mark here. There's only so much I'm willing to pay for reheated pizza.

So, I'm pretty undecided about this place... From the owners of Gia Pronto, two doors down, where I happily part with my money in exchange for an overpriced sandwich or salad, I honestly expected more...  The premise is one that I think I like... Pizza by the pound.  For those of us that like trying a lot of things and not committing to just one type of pizza, this has the possibility of really working... Tell the nice man behind the counter how much of the pie you want, and he'll snip it off with a pair of scissors.  I do agree that having three or four little slices is kind of fun.  On the other hand, the pasta (also by the pound) is uninventive and looks like something you might get served in college dining hall.   The pizzas themselves are good... but not great.  The varieties are fun and interesting, but it loses something in the reheating.  If I'm going to pay this much for my pizza, I want it fresh out of the oven...  So yeah, I'm really not convinced... I'll likely try it again sometime, but until then...

Finally pizza that tastes like ... pizza! I liked the crust and the sauce, but honestly I got two different types of pizza that I didn't like. It was the toppings, however, not the pizza base. If I had gotten a margherita pizza (they were out), it WOULD have been fantastic. Trust me.

With that said, I see no reason to use scissors over a pizza cutter or knife. Try it, you'll like it, just get toppings you can enjoy!

Pizza custom portioned with a pair of scissors...not sure how I feel about that, since it definitely holds up the line -- something along the lines of those select-a-size paper towels might work better.  The pizza itself is pretty good, especially the crust (crispy and thick) and the sauce, if not slightly salty for my tastes. -- had a broccoli rabe slice and a mushroom slice.
