Nice looking pet store.

Had a biggest collection of carriers I've seen around san diego. Shame the one my pup fitted in nicely was actually too big to go on as hand luggage!

We didn't find the right carrier but staff have good infomation about which ones are allowed on which airline which was very helpful.

Very small collection of toys, this store is more for the owners of the pets than the pets themselves!

I am definitely a fan of the clean open feel that a lot of pet stores lack - it felt like a human boutique.  Of course it is "pricey" if you are comparing it to Petco or such.  But, that is how a boutique is.  You wouldn't walk into a human boutique expecting Target prices now would you?

Lisa has to be about the sweetest pet person I have met in a while - she quickly picked up that my puppy was not old enough to have all her shots - lathered up on sanitizer and put her little one away.

They had several rooms of pet novelties and the only reason I didn't give a full five stars is there was quite a shortage of matching collars and leashes (seriously it seems to be a .  Bless her heart though she was quick to pick up the phone and call their sister store.

I had also called a day before asking for a certain leash and Lisa remembered the phone call just looking at my girl's collar.

Excellant service, beautiful and clean store - I felt right at home and will return to exchange future paychecks for pet goodies!

This is a nice store in a happening place. It is nice and bright with a very modern feel to it.   We came on during the week and were the only customers and were greeted and allowed to look around.  Not as good service as Buddy's but we felt comfortable.  Tag has a good selection of almost everything you would need.  Food, clothes, grooming supplies, travel supplies, etc.  Not a huge selection in any one thing, I guess one of the downfalls of trying to offer everything, but if they don't have something you're looking for, they can IM their sister store Buddy's in North County and get you an answer right away.  We looked at a pet carrier for Angus and the sales lady allowed us to really check it out by putting him in it and was gracious when we decided not to buy it.  Location is great, Hillcrest has lots of eateries and it's close to Balboa Park which has Nate's dog park.

They don't have parking, but there seems to be ample meters just right outside and within a few blocks.  I definitely enjoyed coming here, but personally I would rather go to their sister store Buddy's or either Muttropolis location unless I was looking for something specific.

This is a really ritzy pet shop but really cute!!! Although things are on the pricey side if you want to spoil your puppy this is where to do it. The reason for the one star off is they say "for dogs and CATS" there are almost no cat things? I also wish they'd carry more toys for dogs ... they have carriers and collars and food but almost no toys? Still a very cute place and everyone is very nice there.

Damn I feel cheap. Should I also feel guilty that I dont want to spend $16 on a Chewie Vuitton stuffed toy bag or that ultra trendy water bowl for $25 ? A doggie bed for almost $90 ? My queen size cost me $300 !

This place had a fake lawn where your dog can do its business ! Freakin amazing .

This is a very nice looking store and I like it but I seriously can't afford this stuff. It reminds me of last Christmas, when I went to the La Jolla A/X store. There was a sale but things was still expensive, you know what I mean ?

I went in to get a leash for my chihuahua but I wasnt about to fork over $42. Sorry guys, I'm headed over to  Animal House, down towards North Park but on the same street.

An amazing selection of carriers!  A bit pricy but worth every penny to spoil my baby, Bella!  The owners are great and they are true animal lovers!  If your looking for the latest pet fashions you must go to Tag!

This pet store is soooo Hillcrest, and it's awesome! I used to buy cat food and cat litter here before my little boo went off to college. Great place to splurge on your kids!

P.S. I like the name Dogma Catma better.

Very fun to shop around in, but very it's more like window shopping because my boxer does not need the extravagant Swarovski studded Juicy Couture collar (unless I get one first) not would he fit into any of the fabulous JLo looking jackets.  The owner is very charming and they have a good selection of amusing toys and accessories...such as the Michael Moore squeaking chew toy that I couldn't resist.  Bite hard, my boy, bite hard!

Dear God...I will never go back in there.  I went in there looking for a collar, I didn't care about the price....

I went in with my husband and the owner couldn't have been nicer TO MY HUSBAND.  He really could have cared less about me, the sale, our dog...but he sure wanted my man.

We very well might have purchased that absurdly ridiculously priced 100 dollar collar, but his obvious come ons to my man turned me off.

This is such a fun place to get great pet stuff. My dog had just had surgery so I went here and got her a super cute blanket with pink hearts on it. Great specialty items and the staff is really friendly and knowledgeable.

I love dogs but I don't have a dog myself.  I like to visit stores like Tags to get  a chance to see or pet a cute dog.  Yes, maybe I'm a voyeur.  But I know better not to get a dog if I don't have enough time to spend with him/her.  So my alternative is to visit nice pet boutiques and stores to see cute dogs and stand around dreaming about what type of dog I want to have as my companion one day.

That said...Tags is such a cute boutique.  I love all their items especially funny items like their Sniffany(Tiffany) & Co. pillow and their Louis Vuitton toy.  I especially love their wide selection of leashes, collars, and charms. Some of their items are a bit pricey but they are one of a kind.  I would definitely invest in a fashionable leash and collar, plus one of their nicely designed tags/charms just in case my dog gets lost.  One day when I muster up the courage to be responsible for another life I'll be back in Tags. =)

This place is SO cool! If I had a dog/cat I would spoil it with SOME of the cute stuff that this store has to offer. Notice the capitalized word "SOME?" Well, that's because this place can be a too pricey for my budget.

Absolutely, hands down, one of my favoritest pet boutiques of all time.

Yes, they have some of the cutest, trendiest, pet items ever. But it's not their wide selection of amazing collars/leashes/bowls/treats/beds/clothes/accesori es that has me going back here. It's the funny owner of the store.

The first time I walked in there, he took one look at my dog's ugly-ass, androgynous petco-purchased collar and leash and proclaimed,

"You need to get your dog a new leash and collar!!!!!"

Had he been mean, or ugly, or not as cute and sassy as he was, I probably would have told him to shove his trendy pet store up his ass and left. But he was so nice, so helpful, and so sassy. And so I left the store with THE CUTEST collar, leash, and collar charm. I get major compliments on the set. And most importantly, everyone knows my dog is a girl now!

So grab a coffee, walk around Hillcrest, and stop by this store. Even if you don't have a dog, you could end up picking up a can of "Thanksgiving Dinner" for someone else.

One of the trendiest pet boutiques I've ever been to!  My husband and I went to this store and ended up leaving with about $200 worth of stuff.  It's a pretty big store -- one side they have collars, leads, feeders, organic foods, etc and on the other side they have a gallery of trendy carriers, toys, pooch apparel, and 2 glass display cases worth of doggie bling bling (charms, collars, jewelry).

The day we went everything in the store was 30% off except I believe toys and accessories so we took advantage of it.  We bought a pink Hello Kitty dog bed, a doggie birthday hat (our dog's birthday was coming up), poop bags in a heart shaped case, breath strips, and a retro looking 3 bowl feeder that resembles a skateboard (longboard specifically).

They have a small dog there named "Pooper".  He jumped on one of the couches to greet us.  Friendly but VERY territorial of his flower plush.  Then a corgi/labrador mix came prancing through the door with his owner.  Ever seen a black lab with short legs? It was so cute I had to take a picture!

It was fun shopping there!

Very fun pet boutique to go to....it's very pricey so be prepared to pay $$ for some fun things for your doggie.  I think if you a smaller dog it would fun because it seems like there is a whole side full of clothes.  It's fun to go get something special but a little expensive for a everyday dog store.

This is the coolest store.  They have the best selection of high end dog and cats toys, collars, beds, and healthy foods.  If you want just an everyday collar or something to impress your friends check out their exclusive lines.  The owner Carl loves his job.  He is super nice and knows more about dog nutrition than any other pet store in town.  He helped me find the best looking collar for my mutt Bailey.  If he doesn't have what you need, he will tell you were you can find it.

If you love your pets this a must see & spend store.  They have everything that is hip and new for dogs and cats.  And they have great gift ideas for friends and families that view their pets as children.  I spent well over $300 on gifts this past Christmas because they had the cutest and funniest doggie gifts that I had not seen anywhere else.

And I get so many compliments on my little ones pink leather collar with hot pink flowers.   I also have a scruffy little rescue mutt that we bought a "Bitches Love Me" black wife beater for.  People laugh so hard when they see him where it.

I cannot not tell you how much I love this store.  You have to visit it to believe it.  You will not be disappointed.

This store's primary target is definitely not  your German shepherd or British setter (my favorite) owner.  However, $300 chihuahua- carrying- tote seekers, rejoice, I found your canine and feline El Dorado in Hillcrest!  Bejeweled and bewitching collars to attire Fido's delicate and fur-less neck would make Paris Hilton envious.  Ergonomic and design-chic stainless steel bowls would also make a nice fruit and vegetable display piece for your kitchen counters... So if you're up for spending a modicum $100 for this lovely feathered tutu you have so desperately searched for to appropriately dress up your toy york shire,  look no more!

So, I was out on Sunday bouncing around Hilcrest with my friend Robert P.  We had a cocktail and then did a little shopping.  I was thrilled to find Tag.  My little step-son, Bandit (MinPin), who is 8.5 pounds needed a black bitch beater for the upcoming summer.  Leave it to the doggy/kitty store in the gay part of town to have just what you are looking for!  The place had a lot to offer and was layed out very nicely.  Easy to move about, not over crowded like some pet stores.  Very clean.  The staff was very friendly/helpful and both (owners?) complimented me on my Aquaman t-shirt...we all like compliments.  It was that compliment that gets them 5 stars over 4.  I was going to do 4 stars because although they had a lot of squeeky toys, they didn't have very many for little doggy mouths.  BUT, I did find the black bitch beater that read "I heart my daddy" which goes great with Bandit's black leather collar.
Great store guys!  Hope to see a few more little squeeky toys for my boy next time I come by.

tags definitely is not for your average petco shopper.  still, i wouldn't let that throw you off from stopping in once to take a peek.  they have a small, but fun selection of dog and cat toys, leashes, collars, organic foods, etc.   then on the other side of the store there are your $300 leather totes and cute pink studded collars.
