I love this place! Have been going for 6+ years now. I would go everyday if I still lived in Southern Cali but have since moved to Washington. I was in Cali on vacation recently and drove an hour out of my way to stop by here.

I usually get the spinach potato egg burrito and ask them to put hot sauce inside and have some on the side. The hot sauce is freshly made daily and is awesome - I'm a huge spicy food fan! I've had other items off their menu and all are delicious.

Absolutely delicious Potato Tacos!!! Magnificent! Mouth watering!

Here's my only beef and the reason they don't get 5 stars:

1. I get that the place is small... so why not add a couple of more tables and defintely more chairs outside? I mean, there's just two stools out there... there's a whole second table that gets no use bc there are no chairs to go with it.

2. Why, oh why couldn't I get a side of beans? You said you don't do that and that I could get a bean and cheese taco instead... but i just wanted a side of beans! If you got the beans.. why not fork them over? I'll pay top dollar for those beans and it would be sooo easy. Just put them on my plate! ahhh... bean furstration!

But again, absolutely to-die-for potato tacos! And at a great price!

I really had a hard time on this one between the three and four star category.  I have to say, this is one of the better bfast burritos I've had in a long time, but it wasn't legendary, or mind blowing, or that awesome.  It was good, therefore, it gets the A OK rating.

Will I be back for this burrito? I dunno, probably, because it was good and it's near my house.  I'm still searching for the best breakfast burritos, though.  This was not the holy grail.

A hole in the wall with many gems of burritos to devour.
I recommend their veggie spinach burrito and spinach bacon burrito.  Cash only.  Its a great place for a call-in & pickup scenario.  Their little condiment of salsa is very tasty too. They have coffee establishments just south of (starb#%ks) and within walking distance while you wait for your food.

The food is consistently average and the price is cheap.  It is a neighborhood joint that enjoys somewhat of a following.  It is a family run business and when they are in a bad mood it's like walking in on a family feud....beware how you ask for your burrito because their attitude can be quite brutal.  If you are a vegetarian you'll do ok there but the sodium levels are high...beware if you have hypertension.

I just love discovering these great little places that serve delicious food.

My bf has been going here since high school and  without him I can honestly say I never would have come here. It's so small and tucked away that it really is a hidden gem!  There is pretty much no where to sit except for two tiny little table with four chairs total outside and the inside is small and cramped. Do not let this deter you! The food is delicious and inexpensive! I mean really really delicious. I had a chicken burrito that just had so much flavor. That is what really stood out for me about this place, the complex mix of flavors. The meat was tender and the beans tasted like they had been slow cooked for hours. My favorite thing was the beef taco. All that delicious flavor. The cilantro! The citrus flavors! OMG! SO GOOD! I could eat 10 of them.

I wish I lived closer because I would seriously come here all time. If you're in the area, it's certainly a must-eat! Also while you wait there is a pet store with some pretty cool parrots you can gawk at.

Also FYI: Cash only!

Well, I went to this small restaurant with a friend a long time ago.  I had a Carne Asada burrito. It was fine, it wasn't mind blowing.  I don't crave it.  So therefore, three stars.

To be honest,  one thing that has always bothered me was on one occasion, my friend (who's been going there since he was a kid and knows the owners) and I visited this establishment to have another go at the food.  The door was open, so we walked in and we were ready to order, when suddenly one of the owners basically brushed us off and told us that they were closed.  The weird part was that we can see a bunch of the food in the back of the counter (they were definitely not closed).

Well whatever!!!

When does bad habit become obsession?  What category does driving 25 miles in LA traffic to get a breakfast burrito lump me into?  Good morning, my name is Cesar and I think I have a problem.

Luckily, it's my day off and I decide to take my daughter for a joyride over to Glendale Blvd....it's a beautiful day and I purposely park a few blocks away so we can take a stroll and soak in some deadly UV rays....feels so good!  The place is like Hervé Villechaize Tattoo tiny...which I like.  Dude is super nice and makes my obligatory bacon breakfast burrito to go. Cool meatless menu for you veggiesauruses out there. http://static.px.yelp.... I dig the homemade signs/menus....all burritos come with a "spinkle" of cheese...too cute..i love spinkles. =) http://static.px.yelp....

The burrito itself is very humble...not gargantuan, not too much egg, not greasy, not quite enough bacon unfortunately, the potatoes are VERY good,  pico de gallo salsa was not bad and the cheese was a bit different...maybe monterey jack but I prefer cheddar with my breakfast.  http://static.px.yelp.... Put this all together and wrap it up in flour....it makes for a very tasty burro overall! I've had better but I've also had A LOT worse...I greedily consume its entirety in like 5 minutes with their red hot sauce which I enjoyed mucho.

For those of you lucky enough to live in the vicinity you gotta swing by for the value alone ($4 for my meal was pretty good)  Wish I could just fly over like Fantasy Island style....Boss! De Plane! De Plane!

My closet is bigger than the inside of this place, seriously it is that small. The woman who works here is very friendly and accommodating. This small business serves up some some delicious food, and has been feeding Atwater Village, my neighborhood, for a good long while now, and the people who work here take pride in what they do, you can tell by the happy customers that keep coming back.  If you are ever in the mood for some great breakfast burritos, Tacos Villa Corona is the place to get them.

Their steak burritos are also very good, they consist of generous portions of steak, potatoes, and beans, and no fillers like rice that a lot of other places like to put in their burritos, the burritos here are very meaty and you get that consistently through out,  from your first bite to your last, lots of meat. The only unfortunate thing about this place is that it closes at 5 pm . . . uhhh! I know!  I'm kinda those people who often times get  burrito cravings at 2am. Oh well, this place is a solid 4 stars.

I love this place and the burritos they make! They are always friendly and kind. The burritos are simple but delicious (and made me a fan of cilantro after a lifetime of hating it). Once I got nachos, which were good, but the burritos are so much more satisfying.

There is not much space inside but that only gives you a good excuse to look at some exotic birds next door while you wait for your order. The service is pretty quick anyway.

My only complaint is that I occasionally get confused about their hours- I wish they were open later :(

This is a bold statement but this place has the best burritos that I have ever had. This is my favorite burrito in Los Angeles and if I had some sort of plaque to give out at the end of the year or a certificate to issue, I would. I should start a new publication just so I can give this place "Best of LA" awards year after year after year.

The secret to the burrito is the potatoes that soak up the perfect hot sauce. Now I used to be addicted to the Carne Asada Potato Burrito but now I am firmly on the Chicken Potato Burrito. Have you ever noticed that if you eat fried chicken with the right kind of hot sauce, the sauce will soak right down to the bone? That same chicken hot sauce effect works within this burrito.

When you finish, you may think can polish off another one. Don't. That first burrito will slowly expand in your stomach. This is why almost all my road trips start with a trip here.

Ultimately, It would be perfect if you could just have a burrito followed by half a burrito.

I always leave with a smile, a full belly and a grip of "I Heart Taco Villa Corona" Stickers.

They are just a bunch of sweet people. I feel bad for them because when it's hot, there isn't much ventilation going on.

My favorite thing to order from this place is their steak & potato burrito (with no cheese). It is really good, simple but feels like there's a lot of flavor.

They also have a alternative if you want to eat lighter by just having a spinach egg and potato.

Not too shabby.

I've been going to this place for over 10 years. Maria and Felicia are about as good as it gets, and when I took my dad there it was like introducing him to a girlfriend... a girlfriend called Steak and Potato Breakfast Burrito.

Everything I get here is amazing. The tacos and burritos are pretty much my mainstay, but they've also made excellent chilaquiles (don't know if they still do). I moved away from Los Angeles over 3 years ago but whenever I go in, I always get a warm welcome.

chicken & potatoes burrito with cilantro and minimal onions.

this is my winter fare at t.c.

unfortunately, the last four times i have eaten there, the diced potatoes were near raw.  i have tried to look upon it as a different kind of potato 'treatment', but the fact is, it's like crashing into sand when you are eating under-washed spinach in a salad.

as such, i haven't been back for the last two months.

almost went today, but the consistency [ha! pun, ho!] of the potato prob kept me away.

more news in the near future on this...

I loved the Papa's breakfast burrito.  The ingredients were so fresh and delicious, I almost felt no guilt at all stuffing my face with it like a bulimic binging in the middle of the night.
I went back recently for a spinach quesadilla and was disappointed by the soggy tortilla and lack of guacamole and sour cream.  Stick to the breakfast burrito and you'll be golden.

well, maybe more like a toyota pick-up playing classic rock driven by a nice mexican dude only he's not drunk. fuck, maybe he was. sure was a nice fella though.

i got the spinach, bean, onion, cilantro burrito. at first i was pissed there was no choice in salsas but i took a bite and didn't need any!
what? i don't need a sauce? hmmm...weird. it was just that good.

i still negged a star though because i want a sauce choice even if i don't need one. so there.

The best breakfast burrito place in town. It's super cheap and AMAZING.
TVC is the crack of burritos.  Seriously.  When my friends come from out of town I take them there.  When they come back to visit, it's the first place they want to go.  TVC even has a drawing you can sign up for to win a free burrito (your usual) every week.  Good vegetarian selection as well as selections for meat.  Get the Papas!  Their hot sauce is homemade and  the best! I wish they would bottle it!  The only drawback is that they aren't open very late especially on the weekends.  It's understandable though because they are a family run business.  While you're waiting for your burrito you can walk up the street to Kaldi and get a nice ice coffee or other delicious beverage.

Seriously very good.  Didn't change my life, but the list of meatless options combined with really pleasant service made this a memorable taco shack.

The potatoes are wonderfully seasoned, the tortillas are fresh, although I will disagree with most about the hot sauce as I found it a little bland and not really very hot at all (ended up adding some when I got home and it made everything a bit better).

Yeah, you don't need me to tell you, go here.  Get fat!

I've been coming to this place for years.  Their potato breakfast burrito is the best ever.... Felicia is a sweetheart.... my stepdaughter Yaya loves her to death.  This has been a family joint for some time now.  Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be back there again due to the psycho guy who flipped out on my fiance one day.

We went there one afternoon to order some burritos and tacos, an unfamiliar guy with a ponytail was working there.  My fiance asked him if he could put beans in his taco, he flat out says NO, I'm not gonna do it.  My fiance told him that Felicia always hooks him up, we've been coming here forever.  He flips out and says that he doesn't care what Felicia's done, and he's going not going to serve him.  My man leaves, I'm standing there with my son shocked.  I am about 6 months pregnant, and ask him if I can still order a burrito.  Shit, I been craving a potato burrito for some time now.  He says NO.  What the fuck.... Fucking Dick.

Sadly, I can't support a business that hires those who are mentally unstable.

Went here for the first time today.   I ordered the Papa's Burrito with steak for $4.50.   First of all, this is 'really' a hole-in-the-wall.   Standing room for only 3 or 4 customers, but that's OK everything is to-go.   The burrito was cooked to order and took only a few minutes.   The burrito was rather bland.   The potatoes were average and the steak was not very good.  The steak meat was rather grainy and not flavorful at all.   I've experienced this before at other Mexican place.  The hot sauces were OK.  Overall...  OK, if you are really hungry, but I got bored with my burrito half way though.

But the people are nice and I'll give it another try.  Next time, I'm gonna try the chorizo breakfast burrito.  News at 11.

If you live in Atwater then you likely get a breakfast burrito from here at minimum on a weekly basis.

When I lived in the hood one of my favorite things to do was to walk down there with my sis on a Sunday morning, taking in the sunshine, the excellent food and the smiles from the family that runs the place.

Everything papas there is fantastico.  They expanded the menu over the recent years and have several more veggie options, if your inclined.  When it comes to meat, i prefer the asada.   The chicken has never really worked for me...too juicy and leaves me feeling very messy.

The place is cheap and fast, and the high quality food is prepared with love.  I still stop in when I can for lunch on a weekday to reminisce about my Atwater days.

I don't think I will go anywhere else for a breakfast burrito, ever, not after having Tacos villa corona's. It would be like breaking a unwritten law, or something like that.

I usually get the Steak and Bacon papas burrito. Every single bite is filled with flavor and meat. The potatoes work well with the other ingredients instead of drowning them out. The salsa is homemade as well, and it is very, very delicious, it has the right blend of spices in it.

Heck, they even have bumper stickers, which i proudly display on my ride. hahaha

I always been wanting to find this hole in the wall restaurant but I never had the chance to do it. After going to the post office at atwater I decided to try this place for lunch. I got two steak burritos with potatoes and cilantro and onion. It was only $7.00. That was a bargain in this time of recession. My husband and I enjoyed it very much and the hot sauce was awesome I will definitely come here again. The steak and potatoes really go well together. The only down side was that the place is really small and there is a sign that tells you to wait outside when you are done ordering.

I've been coming here for years. I've tried a lot of breakfast burritos in my time and nothing compares to the masterpiece that is Villa Corona. There was a time when I would get my drink on and on and on. I'd be paying the price the next day and while a breakfast burrito isn't necessarily the hangover cure, it did take be from "I'll never drink again" to "I think I could eat another". I turned vegetarian a while back, but I remember the chorizo Papa's Burrito being A+. Luckily I didn't have to give this place up and have substituted the chorizo for spinach and the A+ turns into an A++. True that. Yes, they cook magic into their potatoes. Yes, the people that run the little hole-in-the-wall are awesome. Yes, you should pay a visit there ASAP if you are hung-over or just a breakfast burrito loving motherf#@ker!

When I was growing up,  I would wake up on Saturday morning to the smells of my mom getting her Mexican cooking on in our kitchen. I'd wander down to find her sizzling up chorizo with eggs and potatos and wrapping it all up in piping hot tortillas and serving it up with a giant bowl of piping hot salsa.

This place is my mom's kitchen. Literally.

It's the size of a closet. There's enough room for a sink, a stove, a fridge, a counter, and maybe two customers. The lady behind the counter talks to you like she's your mom and cooks for you in the same way. She makes your breakfast burrito right in front you and she asks you what you want making sure your burrito is exactly what you want.

This woman is a miracle!!

There's loads of veggie options, including their famous potato and spinach burritos. But dude, the BREAKFAST BURRITOS will either make you realize you've been eating shit for breakfast your entire life or will take you back to the days when your mom cooked for you.

GOD BLESS THIS PLACE!!!

I had my first potato taco here.  Yum.  I used to love the steak and potato burrito and would stop by every couple of months to pick one up (5+ years ago). I have only eaten here once since I moved to Atwater earlier this year.  The burrito was not as tasty as I remembered, so I haven't been back.  Maybe I'll try it again, but I no longer get Tacos Villa Corona cravings.

They have great smokey home made salsa, obviously roasted.  Bonus.

They put potatoes in a lot of things, so if you're of the Atkin's persuasion, you may be hatin' life here.  But I grew up with my Mom and Granma putting potatoes in the food they made. Trust me, its good.
