Don't call it a comeback!
This place used to be on Ave 54 and Monte Vista and then it disappeared. The day Claire H and I walked up to that corner and didn't see the truck that had been our source of late night and too-lazy-to-make-dinner-ourselves food was a sad day indeed,
We walked in slow motion back to the house. We sung the Boyz II Men song, "It's so hard to Say Goodbye" as we strolled slowly. That night as our empty stomachs growled, I could swear I heard Taps being played on a bugle somewhere.
This spot isn't your normal Taco Truck. They serve up chorreadas and vampiros. I have never had them any where else. Not only that but their Pastor and Carne Asada is mouth wateringly good. They also have caramelized onions on all their food.
This week, Claire H, got home from work and gave me the good news. TACOS SINALOA IS BACK! and it is on AVENUE 55 and Figueroa!!!
Woohoo! We ran down there and ordered a bunch of vampiros. They were just as good, if not better, than we remembered
On the way home, we sung "MotownPhilly Back Again" as we patted our bellies.
(I'm giving them an extra star for being open past 9pm on a weekday.)
This truck became a neighborhood favorite since my initial review-- the burritos al pastor are delicious. Unfortunately, the truck mysteriously disappeared earlier this year. About a week ago, though, I spotted it on Figueroa between Ave 54 and 55!
I went the next night and found out that they had some trouble with the business they were parking at, subsequently moved to a very competitive area up by Ave 59, and then moved to Bakersfield when that didn't work out. They are back and supposedly doing well in their new location, so please go support them-- this is one of the best trucks in the neighborhood.

One word: chorreadas.
EDIT: This truck has moved. They now park on the east side of Figueroa St right below Avenue 55.

My favorite Taco Truck in Highland Park.
Get the Chorreadas or the burritos.
Nice people, good grub, cheap....what more do you want?
Sometimes drunk mexicans will come up and ask you for money, fortunately, "no" also means no in spanish if you whities were wondering.
Here is a little secret about me that you can either use to help me if we are ever hanging out in the future or use against me if you are just plain evil. Ya ready? Okay....
Whenever I eat really spicy food, I instantly bust into a fit of hiccups.
Yeah, it's really sexy. On a date, thinkin you're cool, eating some spicy salsa and next thing you know *hiccup* Soooo lame.
Well, even though I know this, it still doesn't stop me from ordering it from time to time and one of those times was Sunday night after having some drinks with Aunny D and Nancy Y. I figured, they weren't going to judge...maybe laugh a little...but it wasn't like I was trying to appear sexy by any means, so eff it.
We ordered the asada tacos and quesadilla. The quesadilla was yummy and definitely what I should really just stick to ordering at these types of places, since, c'mon it's cheese and meat, how ya gonna mess that up. We also ordered a couple tacos for the three of us and that is when, of course, the cups de hic kicked in and lasted a good hour. Ugh.
Besides that though, I thought it was quite yummy and if I saw this truck out in front of the R Bar again, I'd risk hiccups for a tasty plate of grub.
Maybe someday when I'm all grows up, I'll learn. Maybe.
I drive down from Pasadena to get tacos from this place every chance I get. A friend who lives nearby introduced me and I've been hooked ever since. Definitely one of the best pastor and asada I've ever had. And the tortilla is always nice and toasted every time. On top of their superior quality product, the keep the price at $1 a taco. Overall my favorite taco place in all of LA . . . actually my fav taco place period.
best effning carne around. I do love me some carne asada tacos, and i am always left yearning for tacos sinaloa when I have tacos anywhere else. The magic key to the place is the flavoring in the beef as well as the avocado sauce that this available. When you combine the two, the whole is far greater than the sum of nine parts. If you are in area make sure you go there but as far as i know they are only there from 6-11 pm. Don't forget to try the quesadillas either, also effing good.
We eat at this taco truck weekly. It's a taco trailer, but they are very friendly and clean. The put out a nice selection of fresh condiments, and the roasted onions and jalapenos are tasty. The carne asada burrito with cheese and without beans is a favorite of ours. My husband likes the chorreadas, which is some sort of open face taco with cheese and meat.
