Hands down the BEST Mexican in Vallejo!

    B --S
-- Located next to a small grocery store very close to corpus field/Vallejo high
    -- BEST Mexican in Vallejo
    -- CASH ONLY
-- It's a Taco Truck with a small building next to it where you can eat
    -- Super cheap
    -- Horchata FTW!
    -- Super Burritos = http://BOMB.com
-- Tortas are great as well

This is my spot for Mexican in Vallejo. All the locals come here and it's well known that TJ's is originated from Oakland and EVERYONE knows how good those taco trucks are.

It's really bad but I still crave this place and I've been going here all my life! Every time I stop by, I usually get a chicken super burrito, a carne asada torta and 2 horchatas because they only have one size cup.

The price is super cheap like $10 for all that food! And I can't even finish it. If I ever finished it, it probably means that I've doubled my stomach capacity!

The chicken is always super fresh and tasty. The carne asada is sometimes a little bit dry, but it works well with their torta and their red salsa makes it complete! I prefer the red over green, but it's totally your choice.

In the wild, taco trucks can only give birth to delicious burrito babies under very delicate and specific circumstances.  Tacos Jalisco meets some of these but ends up falling short of greatness.

Location:  Deep within the heart of the ghetto.  This natural habitat of the roach coach suits Tacos Jalisco well.  The "rough" neighborhood brings all sorts of interesting and scary characters together to enjoy some traditional mobile cuisine.

Ingredients:  While the carnitas were tender and flavorful, they were drowned with sour cream.  Sour cream can be enjoyable and delicious.  Everyone knows that.  Even so, when sour cream starts becoming the focal point of the burrito, something is wrong.

Price:  At 5 dollars you would be hard pressed to find a better cost per pound (even though a good deal of that pound would be gooey sour cream).

In the end, if you enjoy sour cream and don't mind venturing into the ghetto to get it, the Tacos Jalisco truck could be for you.

Every time I come to Vallejo this is a must!

I love this truck. I love Mexican food and I personally think Vallejo is lacking in that department but this place satisfies me every time. I personally think it's one of the best in the city.

I always get a steak burrito, no beans, extra cilantro and it never disappoints me! My cousin loves their taco's. Their hot sauce is yummy. The red is better then the green so I stick with that.

The truck is cheaper then the restaurant.

One of the more well known taco trucks in Vallejo and one of the few that sell chicharrón's tacos.  Their chicharrón's do not have much meat, so they augement it with pinto beans.  The pastor here is kinda of pasty, but still flavorful.  They are also the only truck I know of that sells fried/sauteed whole jalapeno peppers and onions.  Delicious.  Especially with a Coke made with sugar.

They have a covered seating area and a unisex bathroom, not the cleanest, but better then nothing.  Also parking can be a pain sometime in the small lot. Especially when it is busy.   There used to be a little Mexican store, next door,  that sold fresh fruit and vegetables, but they have closed down.

Jalisco brought me back to my days in San Diego and LA. The greasiness, the flavors, and the meats, so good.

Focus on the tacos here, because the burritos weren't that great (or at least I'm not a huge beans and rice guy). The tacos are where they really shine:

    Lengua (beef tongue)
    Buches (cow intestines)
    Tripas (tripe)

Get all three, and you'll enjoy life.

The MIL is a fan of the carnitas from this truck.  I tried the carne asada tacos, with avocado, and they were great.  Not too greasy and the avocados were perfect.  Their salsas were decent, the red better than the green, but neither had enough heat for me.  Cheap.

I love burritos and this is a solid place to get my fix when in Vallejo. My favorite is La Perla, but when it's closed, I'll head on over to Tacos Jaliscos. Their carne asada and chicken are good. They'll add lettuce to your burrito if you ask (yes I know I'm weird, but I like lettuce in my burrito).

Prices are reasonable and service is friendly.

Once or twice for the past several years, I've tried coming here to see if I could get a decent tasting burrito.  Still trying.  Each time, I'm disappointed.  The burritos have been way too watery.  Think a tortilla filled with soup basically.  Maybe tacos, not burritos are their specialty?
I find that the food at the Tacos Mexico truck near the Grocery Outlet on Adm. Callahan Ln.  is much better.

Grabbed a few tacos from here since it was just a few blocks down from my hotel room.  The fish tacos were fantastic and had a nice tangy salsa to go with it.  I love when I just happen to find a great little gem like this place while on vacation.  Worth a stop.

This is the "original" and most "famous" TT in Vallejo, if you ask me.  Been coming here since '92ish

Longevity and Consistency!  Tasty and Choices--plenty. Open late (sometimes till midnight) and safe enough. Familiar , friendly and handsome faces!

Went last night for my fave, carnitas and carne asada tacos! YUMMM.  Plus, it was late so I feel like the meat given was generous.  And, we were comped some tamales, so they didnt go to waste for them.  SWEET...lunch for today...works for ME!

    - mmmmmmm burritos
    - spinach tortillas
    - a multitude of meat
    - bottles of coke

I love and hate that the best Mexican place in Benicia is a taco truck.
Erik U and I went and got 3 tacos, a burrito, and 2 cokes.. all came to under $12.  Love.  However, They close really early ... like 5pm.  Hate.

There are 3 things that tell me if a Mexican place is even worth bothering with:
    1) Rice
    2) Beans
    3) Carnitas

All 3 were perfect, and I appreciate that the burrito didn't have an overwhelming amount of rice or beans.

I could probably go everyday and not get sick of it.  yummm!

I used Yelp in an attempt to find some very awesome Mexican food in Vallejo.  I've actually known and seen the Tacos Jalisco truck for years, but I never made the effort to actually try it.

I ordered the tacos with carnitas, al pastor, and chicharrones.  It was pretty much a symphony concentrated on the pig!  I was impressed with the generous amount of meat they actually gave.  The carnitas was juicy and had that nice porky taste to it.  The al pastor was nicely spiced and very flavorful.  There was even a hint of pineapple to the taste.  The one that blew my mind was the chicharrones.  That is now to this date my most favorite taco!  I fell in love with the cut up pieces of salty, crunchy pork skin goodness with the toppings all slathered on two fluffy pieces of corn tortillas.  It was a pig lovers fantasy.

The truck is located on a fairly decent part of Vallejo next to a nice fruit and vegetable vendor.  The service was pretty much no fuss but nice.  There's even indoor benches if you can't wait to bring your food home.  I will definitely return.  Definitely a "must try", especially if you're a native Vallejoan.

I always get the carne asada or chicharon super burrito. BEST BURRITOS in town!! Just make sure you specify what you don't want: sometimes I'll get some onions even after requesting no onions. Oh well, though, who can complain about quality Mexican food?!....by the way, did I mention their green salsa is like crack?? I could drink the stuff!! :)

I guess I'm something of a burrito officianodo.  I order them everywhere I go.  Somehow, I can't get enough.  What's not to like in a food that's compact, cheap, filling, flavorful and combines all the major food groups?

Vallejo is a town with a taco truck on nearly every corner--they're to Vallejo as Starbucks is to San Francisco (too many and too mediocre).  But Tacos Jalisco is not the same.

Their Burrito Vegitariano is perfect, flavorful, friendly, fast and super economical--everything a great burrito ought to be.  It is hands down the best I've had in Vallejo--or the East Bay for that matter.  I'm in burrito heaven every time I go.  What more could you ask for $4.50?

Unlike most taco trucks, this one also has an indoor dining area next to it, so you can enjoy your meal on site if you wish.  Next to Pizza Hut and near Little Maya bakery on Broadway.

This has to be a Vallejo staple!  I always get a Carne Asada Super Burrito on a Tomato Tortilla with extra cilantro and extra green sauce.  Sounds pretty good right about now. . . Not bad for a meal that costs $4.50!

They also have a restaurant on Sonoma Blvd and another truck off of Military East and Fifth Street in Benicia.  That truck is pretty good too.

They need to make all the Tacos Jalico trucks a Vallejo landmark! I have been around from the Truck to the old Taco Bell (now Midori) to the old sit down resturaunt (now Sunflower Bakery) and to the current location (shares same lot w/ Midori which was Jalisco's old location).

I have only ever tried two things here. Carnitas Super Buritto and the fish tacos. You cant go wrong w/ anything on the menu though. I have also had the Pollo only because thats what my girl gets when we she orders.

I was actually pretty impressed with this taco truck.  We recently moved to Vallejo decided to let Yelp guide us to a new place to try, and we ended up here.  For about $17, I was able to order tacos  with every meat they offered and even doubled up on a few (probably a total of about 10 tacos).  The $17 also included two orders or horchata and the best mexican corn I ever had.

The tacos were delicious and they were generous with the meat.  They had your typical choices and also had chicharron and buche (stomach).  They offer different kinds of tortilla for your burrito, but haven't had a chance to try it yet.  The corn was amazing!  It reminded me of our trips to Mexico and the street vendors that served corn in a cup w/ mayo, cheese, lime & spices.  This place actually serves it on the cobb, which is much more fun to eat.  Definitely give the corn a try, you won't be disappointed.

I can't wait to try more stuff from the menu.  This is a place I can see myself visiting regularly.

Not as much variety as RANDY'S - But, you can only do so much from a truck.

930pm: Ordered 3 tacos, carne asada, carnitas, and chicaronnes. Total: $3.75.

I was impressed; simple, good food.  I think the glowing reviews here exaggerate the quality, but I'm intrigued and definitely considering trying the burrito here.

When I opened my plate, I could not initially tell which taco was which.  The carne asada had a boiled appearance to it, lighter in color and more moist than expected.  The chicharonnes are not my type.  The meat is a surprise to bite in and harder than the rest of the taco.  Does not blend in well.  Carnitas were good. I like how they dressed up each meat type differently.  Attention to detail.

The most important thing: value and flexibility.  For a poor student, these kinds of places will be clutch in the future.

$5 for a good super burrito.  This truck has most of what the restaurant has (burritos, tacos, tamales, quesadillas,) but the cost is less for each item.  When I'm really hungry, but don't want to eat too much meat, the vegetarian super burrito fits the bill perfectly.

This is the best taco truck in vallejo. Been coming here for years. I always have 3 tacos carnitas (1.25 per) with the works sour cream and cheese (+.50 per) and a coke bottle. I didn't give it 5 stars because they aren't consistent in quality. I get home and open the foil they forgot my add ons or the food is cold or sloppily made. Doesn't happen enough to make me stop going. Just double check the food before u leave.

Now, THIS is the best taco truck in town.  I want to say in California, but I haven't tasted everything and I know there's something that's just as good if not better.  At any rate, the truck is better than the actual restaurant.  People call trucks 'roach coaches' but the tacos jalisco truck is not that, it's a restaurant on wheels, i promise! I've been eating here for over 15 years now, and the burritos are as good now as they were that long ago.

I hope everyone experiences this at least once, you wont be disappointed.

I had to pull over and write about how good this taco is and I promise to edit this and refine it later but this is AWESOME!!!  My father passed away Saturday and I've been craving the same foods we used to eat together namely great Mexican, Chinese, and ice cream.  TJ'S you all more than came thru.    Thank you so much!!!

I was impressed to read how long this truck had been serving Vallejo and wanted to check it out this summer.
Located near the intersection of Tennessee & Broadway, it is in the heart of some of Vallejo's most pronounced urban decay. In fact, one of the most interesting parts of our meal was the debate my friend and I had about whether the building that Tacos Jalisco has set up plastic picnic tables inside is being rented by them our are they just squatting in an abandoned buliding?
Obviously, part of the lure of Taco Tracks and street food in general is the (sometimes) odd places you find yourself eating a meal.
The food itself was lovely. As good as any truck I can think of outside of the City. The prices were great for the tacos, but how good does a taco truck taco need to be, though? When you are paying $1.25 for one of life's best fast foods, the tacos need only be passable to please. These were far above passable, though, and each came with a slice of fresh avocado! The fish tacos & chicken tacos, however, were very interchangeable.
All good, though. I was ready and happy to eat at the curb but enjoyed those indoor picnic tables, too.

They are generous with the pinto beans and you definitely want to add their special sauce to give them that special kick. 1.25 per taco is the cheapest worthwhile thing I've had in the Bay Area!

Me and the Tacos Jalisco taco truck go way back.  I know every spot the truck has been posted up at since my first late night visit in '91.  I owe it to my best friend for introducing me to this local favorite.  The truck's permanent location is at the corner of Broadway and Nebraska.  I've had the carne asada, carnitas, and pastor burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, tacos, and tamales.  They offer condiments like hot and mild salsa, sliced limes, green onions, radishes,  and jalapenos.  I like to wash down my meal with a cold sangria soda from the ice chest.
