Horrific service department. Now this is not a "they didn't fix my car and are charging me lots of money story" oh no. I WISH it was as simple as that. I'll start by saying that I understand that things on cars break. I understand how repair shops work. (I co-own one and am a service writer myself).
I brought my friends Jeep into this dealership while he was overseas (my shop is a Honda/Toyota shop). I brought his Jeep in to them previously for a problem that was diagnosed and the repairs were done and paid for. Replacing a crank shaft and cam shaft position sensor. It seemed to be fixed, but a short while later unfortunately it wasn't. The vehicle was brought back in and they responded saying that they would not do anything further until some tune up parts were replaced, My friend couldn't afford their price for that so I did the plugs and wires for him. The tune up parts did not fix the problem (no big deal at ALL, it did honestly need to be done), so we brought the Jeep back to the dealer to see what they said.
They mention that the plugs that are in it now aren't really the best type (I used NGK spark plugs, they suggest Champion), again I understand that a dealership is going to tout that their parts are the best. Also no big deal what so ever. If thats what they say then so be it, and we say we'll come get the Jeep. The service writer calls back and frantically needs to speak with me before I come get it. She explains that while the plugs aren't the ideal p[arts, its not causing the problem.
Regretfully, I dared to ask what the real problem was, she explained the situation as best as she could. She says that the PCM needs to be replaced now.
I had thought that the code in the computer this visit was one of the same codes that was in the computer last time (the cam shaft code), and I asked her to verify that either way.
Now I understand that a service writer may not know everything about cars, which is fine. I also do not expect her to remember off the top of her head every detail about every car she deals with. I just asked a simple question. She transfers me out to a technician who doesn't know what I am talking about and gets very defensive about his work that he has done today. He lists all these things he did today most of which were services and checks that were done to this Jeep on the original visit. The service writer did not communicate with this poor technician that this Jeep had been in their shop for the same reason previously. He gets very upset that I am asking these questions and tells me "If you want to get your $90 refunded then I am sure we can handle that, its only $90 and tells me that this isn't his job" I ask him why he is talking to me if this isn't his job, and he hangs up on me.
I call back and speak to Kathy again, I begin to tell her that the technician hung up on me and isn't being very helpful and that I don't know why she transferred me to him in the first place. Good ol' Kathy didn't like that and tells me she "is about done talking with me and I am a very rude person" and hangs up on me, still yet to answer my question.
Absolutely the most frantic, worst, and down right rude customer service I've ever had. The worst part is, its not over. My Jeep is still in their shop. :(
It took me talking directly to the service manager to get any kind of helpful answer. Which ultimately ended with him doing the right thing and discounting the PCM.
But it took me getting hung up, getting in completely unnecessary arguments that the service writer and technician instigated and wasting about an hour or my time to get to that point. If this would have been how the situation was handled from the get go, I would not be upset. But how I was treated was insanely awful.
This place is a mess. I strongly recommend staying away.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shane G.Vancouver, WA372164Dec 8, 2022
My son was driving my 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 from Vancouver, Wa. to Gig Harbor and the water pump went out in Lakewood. He limped it to Tacoma Dodge the day before Thanksgiving 2022.
The service time to fix the problem, and their communication were top notch. I was assigned a representative (Mikayla) who contacted me with all the estimates, and responded quickly to a voice mail I left her. The work was done several days before I could travel from Vancouver to pick it up.
When I arrived at the train station in Tacoma, (in the process of Googling the address of Tacoma Dodge), I saw the yelp rating was less than ideal. I read comment after comment of mad people who had had a bad experience. (I don't think people with good experiences are as motivated to get on Yelp. So, I'm here to balance it out).
They are in an industry where parts can be scarce, and it's obvious they are always busy working on someone's valuable possession. I would encourage every customer to post about their experience good, bad, or in between.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

This dealer is by far the worst dealer we have ever dealt with so far and we are a Mopar family. We called and paid for a key to be made for our dodge charger that is not currently running and they cut the key for the vehicle. We came back with our charger in tow on a trailer with all the necessary paperwork to have them code the key to the car. The manager refused to code the key and wouldn't even come out to help support in person. Their terrible customer service is evident as well as their lack of caring about whether or not they have return customers. I would not put my car trust nor financial trust with this specific dealer. Stay clear of this dealer they are definitely do not have the support from this car enthusiast. (Can't choose option for no stars or we would)

Went in for recalls on my new RAM 2500 diesel. I had no choice but to leave my truck there overnight in their care even-though I had an appointment. Got my truck back but the employees stole a few items from the inside of my truck. Noticed my electric reprogrammable controller for my bed cover, battery pack for it, and later on realized my brand new Ray Ban sunglasses were also missing (realized that later when I needed them). Best advice is to inventory the stuff in your car before leaving it with them. All trust is lost with this dealership which is unfortunate because I live in Tacoma and planned servicing my truck here.

Never go here. They will swindle you to get their sale. I've been pissed for 2 months. They played me and my husband. I will NEVER buy a car here again.
Gavin in finance is terrible. I didn't like him the moment I sat down. That should of been my sign to walk away. Not to mention the 6 hours it took to get out of there. They messed up our loan, the whole thing has been a mess. My husband is lucky I love him. No amount of tacos was saving my attitude that night though.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Took my truck in on a Friday because it had transmissions issues. Service team said that they figure out the issues and it would be done by 4-5pm on Tuesday. I called around 3pm on Tuesday to confirm before making a 45 min drive.
Of course, because of lack of communication on their end they now tell me at the last minute that there is a "second issue that needs to be fixed and it will be an extra 1,200 bucks + plus it could be another 3-5 days".
On Friday on or about noon timeframe, I receive a call telling me that everything is good to go. However, because it was snowing and there is black ice on the road, I told them that I'll be in on Monday.
Monday, I paid and pick up my truck. They tell me that everything is good and that the tech did a test drive, etc.
I drive off the lot and make it 1/4 of a mile and the truck stalls in the middle of an intersection. In the middle of a busy intersection, I restart the (automatic) truck and try to circle back and it stalls again.
After finally getting back to the dealership, I frustratingly tell the service desk clerk my issues and she says that they'll "review the history and check, and could get back to me tomorrow". Heated now, I ask if she could expedite it because it's an inconvenience for me to come by again on another day just to make a 45 min drive.
Long story short, about 2 hours later, the tech, service department, didn't thoroughly check and fill transmissions fluid.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Worst experience with a car. Even three years later they are screwing me. A day after buying the car, during my move to Cali, my stereo goes out so I had to do the 2 day drive without any music or anything. Now here I am 3 years later, went to replace my tires that have nails in them, and guess who was never given the key for the locking lug nuts? Yup. This guy... called all local SoCal dealerships, none have the universal key. So I call the Tacoma dodge, and they don't have records of what keys went to which vehicle so I can at least order a new key and pay for their lack of attention to detail. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere for a car.

Purchased a brand new 2023 Charger R/T less than a week later and less than 300 miles on the car I was driving home from work with a 4 year old in my car just for the car to loose all power with a semi truck coming close to rear ending me putting our lives in jeopardy. Finally I have to start the car to move less than 100 ft to get out of the way. The dealership will not refund or replace my car hopefully service does something

I took my van here to have the driver's side steering repaired after some damage occurred.
I normally take my vehicles to a local repair shop I trust but they were booked up and I was able to get a deal at this dealer.
The service counter was great, they said they were pretty busy bit would be able to work on it here and there so I would be able to get my van back fairly quickly.
The problem was that whoever the mechanic was didn't tighten two bolts on the sub-frame under the engine/transmission. Some time after the repair the van started making a bad noise when shifting from Park to Drive and when turning. From the area of the sound I thought it was something wrong with the transmission so I check the fluid, nothing. I took a look under the car and there were two bolts just a few threads in sticking down. I tightened and torqued them down, did a test drive and the sounds was gone.
I wouldn't normally rate something like a loose bolt this low but this was a massive safety issue and something that should have been caught if there was any kind of final check on the vehicle after the repair.
I have contacted them but with the reputation of dealerships I'm not that foolish in figuring they will do anything in repiration to their screw up.
Hall and Son's in Port Orchard is very honest and solid if anyone in the area needs their vehicle worked on.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

We were very pleased with Wallace's sales service, however he is rating a zero for service after the sale. Because we live quite far from Tacoma and could not take advantage of the 6 free oil changes usually given by Tacoma Jeep, he offered to gift us floor mats. We were very pleased with that offer however, we never received them. Now Wallace is not returning our calls. He have lost all the positive feelings that we had about Tacoma Dodge & Jeep as well as any referrals we may have sent their way. Don't make a promise and not keep it - it is called integrity - so disappointed.
