Review from Justin N.
If taco trucks were humans, Taco Zone would be king, ruling over us all. Not like an asshole though, like a kindhearted leader who even cares about the peasants.
If taco trucks were martial artists, Taco Zone would be some elite ninja who just ran around ninja kicking everyone in the face whenever they felt like it. No one would mess with Taco Zone.
If taco trucks were standup comedians, Taco Zone would be the complete opposite of Dane Cook. If you didn't know, Dane Cook is terrible. Like, really terrible.
If taco trucks were wild animals, Taco Zone would be a lion, prowling the savanna, being all badass. Eating zebras and shit, taking naps, all kinds of lion type stuff, whatever it wanted to do.
If taco trucks were a group of girls, Taco Zone would definitely be the hot one. All her taco friends would secretly be jealous, talking mad shit and spreading rumors about Taco Zone being slutty.
If taco trucks were Christmas gifts, Taco Zone would be the Lexus with a bow on it that I see in the commercials every year. Because yea, average people watching television just randomly buy luxury cars as gifts. Totally, they're rich enough to get $60K gifts for people but they can't afford a DVR box to skip over stupid commercials.
If taco trucks were musicians, Taco Zone would be the sexy lead singer of the best band ever. Getting all kinds of ass from the taco groupies.
If taco trucks were strippers, Taco Zone would be the girl that can like, spin around upside down at the top of the pole and crazy shit like that. Random dudes would totally make it rain all over Taco Zone.
I guess all I'm trying to say here, in case I wasn't entirely clear, is that Taco Zone is fucking badass. THE END -

Great food late at night!
I have only been to this truck after midnight, one time
I want there around 1:30AM and there were about 20 or 30
people. The wait isn't bad, they are fast.
PLUS, they make great Veggie Tacos! -

Great taco truck if you're in the area. But I usually spend my taco money in the Pasadena/Echo Park/Highland Park area...
Food comes plain - you pile on the condiments as you like for yourself. Whenever I go to a truck like this, I'm usually all about the taco. 3 or 4 tacos usually does it for me, unless I'm really hungry and I order much more or end up ordering a burrito instead. The food is alright. I have to say that it can't beat my faves in my hood - El Taquito Mexicano, La Estrella, Arturo's...
However, as many have already indicated, the service is beyond awesome for a taco truck. The ladies are always smiling and are quick to give you suggestions if you're ever in doubt of something. The lines aren't that bad. My visits are usually after 9PM, but I get in and out of there pretty quickly. Plenty of parking at the supermarket lot, which is another plus.
As I have many great options close by, I wouldn't drive myself all the way out here to get some grub. However, if I'm in the area, it'll always be an option that I'd consider. -

I got three tacos and a horchata for $4.25 here the other night. It was dank, as always. My friends got burritos, also dank. Thanks taco zone!

Great late night tacos in Echo Park right by the Vons on Alvarado. Can be busy around 1am on weekends with a large crowd of post-bar-hoppers so be ready to wait in line!

Review from Hugh Y.
First of all, wtf? This small little taco truck hitch has over 300 reviews? I'm not even mad, that's amazing.
I can safely speak for everyone when I say that their customer service is SUPERB. And by customer service, I mean the rate at which they churn out your order. I don't think I even waited more than two minutes to receive my order, which is amazing considering that there 4 other customers' orders they had to deal with.
I don't really prefer the way that they cut their meat, though, which is in a small and what seems to be almost shredded manner compared to other taco joints, but still I dig it. Pretty tastily marinated meat, if ya ask me! Also, their salsa bar is ON POINT. Man, especially their guacamole. They don't water anything down! I am in awe.
Don't be fooled by the petiteness and location of this truck. They mean business. -

11:30pm on a Monday.
No long line here.
One party in front of us.
We had:
- SUADERO burrito http://www.yelp.com/bi... - lots of rice and dry suadero ;{
- SUADERO (brisket), LENGUA (tongue), y PASTOR (pork) tacos http://www.yelp.com/bi... - I liked the pastor and lengua..... suadero not so much.. :T All the meats looked the same.. and the suadero was dry.. bleh!
Their pico de gallo and the guac sauce was good :]
7 tacos + 1 burrito = $14 ;}
Parking: VONS parking lot
Service: the ladies in there are so adorable!
"ey guy! tacos!" haha
**Not the best I've had.. wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again.
Trying em once is good enough for me! ;}

Typical taco truck. Food is fine, not OMG like people here make it seem. Guess silver lake and echo park peeps made it "trendy" to come to this spot.
Prices are high here as well. I'm ordering small ass tacos wtf! -
Review from Jessie S.
I'm from San Diego, twenty-five minutes from Mexico where my friends and I would go to Mexico just to eat some tacos then cross back. Now I live in Los Angeles...
And now Taco Zone has filled that empty "I want street tacos where I know every time I grab the spoon for salsa, a new bacteria has made its home my body" hole.
Being a true fatty mixed with overwhelming excitement, I ordered four tacos: a pastor, suadero, asada and chorizo.
Yes, I ate them all and yes, each bite was an epic orgasm occurring in my mouth. Yes, I downed them all with a horchata and yes, I had to unbutton my jeans on the way home. Was it worth it? Oh most definitely. -

I love me some late night taco zone....
It's the one place of all the fine restaurants, craft eatery, gastros etc. in LA where is ever there were someone visiting from a foreign country, this is usually there favorite stop. True, it's usually after a goodnight in bars, but hey.....
Try the veggie or suadero mulitas, be nice to the senoras. -

Best taco truck in LA. Maybe best food truck in LA.
Never had better carnitas!
There are always long lines on the weekend but I promise it's worth the wait.
The ladies who run this truck are all angels. When I walk over to their spot outside the Vons parking lot at 7pm and they're not there...I wait.
It's been said before and I'll say it again, the mulitas are a must. -

It's one of LA's best kept secrets. Forget Kogi. This is what a true roach coach experience in LA is all about.
Sometimes they run out of suadero meat, which seems to be the favorite here. Don't worry, just try something else and you'll probably enjoy it. I also find the tripe to delicious, along with the vegetarian burrito. Some complain that the meat is minced, but I argue that the flavor is still superior to that of other trucks in the neighboring area. Go ahead, give it a try, and be the judge. One taco won't cost you more than a buck-fifty.
They're here till 2:00 a.m. and you'll find plenty of weirdos and hipsters swaggering around the Vons parking lot adjacent to the truck. Regardless of this, I keep coming back because I find this greasy goodness to be one of the best options for late night eats around Downtown LA and Echo Park. -

If I had yelped when I lived in Silver Lake, and came to Taco Zone at the end of every night out, I would've given them five stars. But I am disappointed to say that the quality has gone WAY down while the prices have stayed the same.
One should be able to tell the difference between al pastor and carne asada by looking at the tacos and certainly when one tastes them.
Instead, all of the meat is a lump shredded whatever that doesn't taste all that great.
The salsas are decent, and I like being able to build my taco the way that I want.
I'm really sad to say that this place isn't the same. It was always our go to spot and now we need to find a new one.Listed in: Cheap eats

Taco Zone obviously doesn't need my yelp help - they're one of the most beloved trucks in town. So instead of telling you how awesome they are (they are) and how they're better than Arizas (they are) and Flamin (duh), I'll tell you this:
The quesadilla (preferrably asada if you want that little crunch) is of the gods. I don't quite understand how just meat cheese and tortilla can be so different and better then their competitors, but at only $5, I think it's the superior alternative to getting 3 tacos.
Another penny-pinching tip: If the size of your appetite or your wallet isn't big enough for a quesadilla (or if you just want some variety), try the off-menu MULITAS! For only a few cents more than a taco you can have the most amazing little tortilla sandwich WITH cheese, grilled up quesadilla-style. You're welcome. -

I had the left overs from Diana's burrito this past weekend. And let me tell you those 3 bites left were just amazing. I wish I got my own burrito, but I almost got shot walking to this place ( real life event ) so I lucked out. I just realized there's a Taco Zone truck in North Hollywood, which is more local to me. (living in the valley and all) And the time my dad took my drunk ass he got me a quesadilla. It was so good they have this green avocado sauce, just adds the perfect touch to it. If you see TACO ZONE in your neighborhood do your self a favor and pull over, thank me later.

The best taco truck around these parts. I always stop here after a night out in the area. I love the veggie tacos/burrito. I also love how they don't give you the side-eye for being vegetarian. The salsas are great too. Try the cucumber one.

I'm sad. I can't really remember what I ate here. I seriously don't speak a word of Spanish and my friend did all the ordering for me, so apologies for the lack of recommendations in this review. But trust me nonetheless! Taco Zone is undoubtedly a 5-star dining experience.
First of all, it's so cheap; 5 stars for value-for-money-ness. 5 stars for the actual food. Freaking delicious and very authentic-tasting, although I must admit I don't have much experience with Mexican food (other than Chipotle, that is). It's also perfect for a late-night snack as well as for an actual meal - tacos, quesadillas, mulitas and etc come in varying portions that will guarantee just-right satisfaction regardless of your level of hungriness. And last but not least, 5 stars for the actual experience. Gobbling down delicious Mexican food with your hands while using the back of a car as a table? Mmmm my favorite part.
So yes. Super chill, super cheap, super delicious. Taco Zone makes me happy. Oh oh oh and how could I almost forget, PLEASE GET THE HORCHATA! I beg you. 5 extremely shiny stars. It's like...I don't know...I would almost give up beer for it... -

West Los Angeles, CA
From their tacos to their amazing and legendary quesadillas ("dillas"), this place earns an easy five stars for providing late night food for drunks that is also quite simply delicious (and not because you're drunk).
There's usually a line, but it's well worth the wait. Eat standing up, squatting, or on someone's car. Heck it's so good go ahead and eat in the middle of the street. Commuters will understand once you tell them that you're eating Taco Zone.
My personal favorite is the simple cheese dilla. Don't both with that chicken dilla stuff, just keep it simple with cheese only. Besides that, the lengua or carne asada tacos are also very awesome and a must try. I've pigged out plenty of times here, including two dillas coupled with four tacos. Yeah I paid for it the next day, but it was well worth it! -

This taco truck is one of my new best friends and I don't have many new best friends...
I used to need to go to TJ for tacos this good. Now I just drive down the 2. I cannot believe how many times I've driven on Alvardo and never knew it was the home to TACO ZONE!!
Last night, we approached the taco truck from the rear, oh that sounds bad already, but from the back it looked simple and nondescript. The time was around 10:30pm, police cars rolled up. Since we were not packing in the back, we were safe.
So on this occassion, the presence of the fuzz could only one thing - this truck was about to bring it.
And yes, she did bring it. I approached the truck with only one person in front to be greeted by the sweetest lady at the window who took the time to describe the meats to me and recommended her favorite the SUADERO!!
My real like friend Kelly, lol, on this list, recommended the suadero mulitas. They went through my mouth and into my belly. I love things spicy so the red salsa did it for me but the avocado salsa verde is also incredibly delicious.
I'm thinking about becoming a born-again vegan. The one thing I'll miss are simple and downright delicious get your grub on nights like this one complete with a hangover and leftover salsa the next day!
I also sampled the quesadilla and burrito. IMHO I'd go for the mulitas still. I think what does it for me and the mulitas are the corn tortillas! Corn tortillas, cheese and meat of your choice.
We ate, of course, on top of the hood and kept a cool bevvy at the back to wash it down with. Of course, they also sell drinks or you could pop into Vons. -

One of the best taco trucks I've eaten at. Usually has a long line but they give out the orders fast, so the wait time is not too long.
I always order the asada and suadero (brisket). I've also tasted the pastor and chicken. All are cooked perfectly and taste awesome!!!! Tacos are 1.50$ each. I know it's a bit expensive, but trust me, they taste really goooooood. They also have a variety of salsas, so that's another plus right?
Well recommended !!! -

Amazing every time. I've had many tacos in my life, you know, 'cuz I'm Mexican, and Taco Zone is definitely my top taco truck pick and I'll tell you why. A lot of Mexican places do not flavor their meat nicely. They just cook it and then cover it with stuff. Taco Zone tacos can be eaten with very little on them and they are still tasty, but then you get the option of putting all these great things on it anyway! The horchata is made just right, not too powdery and not too sweet. Everything is always piping hot and the staff is sweet and hardworking.
Try the chicken molitas with just lime. No hot sauce. And tell me that shit ain't exploding in your mouth. Then go ahead and put some cilantro and green sauce like lovers do. And tell me you didn't have to clean your pants after. Sucker!
If you don't like Taco Zone, you need to go back to DEL CRAPPO TACO or EL POLLY CRACKO because this is as close as you can get to the real thing. Betch! -

How have I not reviewed Taco Zone yet?
THIS IS THE BEST TACO TRUCK IN LOS ANGELES. In fact it is probably THE BEST TACO TRUCK IN THE WORLD.
Go there some night and order a carne asada taco. $1.25. Load it up with some salsa and take a bite. There is no way you will want to go home without ordering a few more tacos, maybe suadero or carnitas this time. The food here is THE BOMB. Everything this truck has is good, from the mulitas to the quesadillas to the burritos. The women who work there are super-friendly and there is never much of a wait.
The only bad thing about Taco Zone is that there is only one truck, and it is only there late at night. If I had a magic wand, I would turn every Taco Bell into a Taco Zone. The world would be a better place. -

Efffin Amazing !!! I think I need to enter taco zone rehab because the food is addicting!! I thought Ive had excellent tacos from a truck in the past however, I was always drunk... Now after eating from Taco Zone drunk and going back sober.. I am convinced its not the booze talking but really my taste buds...
If you love food that you can hold with one hand, off a truck late at night with other random night crawling warriors.. Taco Zone is a must !!! -

Thank you Yelp! passed by this place a couple of time and will always see a long line thanks to yelp reviews it made me want to try it. Lots of Hypsters but the tacos were amazing, I consider myself a taco snob since I tried so many in East LA and Tijuana. Suadero and Buche (doratitos) were my favorite, the pico de gallo is nice and spicy the way it should be. Is true the line is long but as soon as you finish ordering within a minute or less your order is ready.

Diamond Bar, CA
I've been here a good couple of times, although I have to admit, I wouldn't have, had it not been for an Echo Park native and fellow hippo hunter.
Taco Zone is conveniently located (parking is never a problem) at the Vons (1342 N Alvarado St) in Echo Park. If you are wrapping up a night of drinking, partying, thuggery, hippo hunting, dancing, shuffling or any sort of combination of those, Taco Zone will satisfy you in ways you could never imagine.
"Ways you could never imagine?" Well for me, a budding taco enthusiast that meants trying mulitas for the first time. A mulita? It's like a sandwhiched tortilla taco. My words do it very little justice and before I could take a picture, I had inhaled it. Try it, if you haven't, and try it here.
Taco Zone has a huge variety of meats, from buche, to pastor and even suadero. I love the pastor, I love the carne asada, and actually I have never had a dry, tasteless piece of meat like you often find at many taco trucks. Taco Zone always leaves me happy and is usually the last thing that goes down the pipes after a night out in Los Angeles.
I have no criticisms for this piece of taco truck paradise. Oh and be sure to check out all the stickers from friends of Where's My Hippo and others, including KOPHNS ONE, Skullphone, JDI, Nomade, Obey and Chubby Boob.

Seriously, the best.
Meats - all are great, but the suadero, asada, and (if you're feeling adventurous) lengua stand out.
Salsa - this is where they win. their red sauce and avocado sauce are the best I've ever tasted. hot AND flavorful.
on top of that, the ladies are sweet and the prices are standard. -

This is the best chicken taco I have had in LA. Pretty much all I get at taco trucks are chicken tacos, and I am addict to Taco Zone. The spices they use on the chicken make it taste really good.
They have a few salsa, which are decent, not great. Also like that it is easy to park over there because you just park in the Vons lot and there is always room. The prices are $1.25 for a taco, pretty standard.
The only problem is the truck is only there at night-til-late night. Wish I could get those tacos during the day, but oh well. Just don't try to go there for lunch, cause they won't be there. -
Review from Emily L.
Taco Zone is the holy grail of taco trucks.
I made the mistake of coming here on a full stomach, so I only ordered two tacos al pastor. I got all giddy when I saw the variety of available condiments and started piling cilantro, sliced radishes, and lime wedges on my plate. Then I bit into a taco. It was heaven! The pastor was so tender, flavorful, and full of spicy deliciousness. The salsas packed a punch but did not overpower the amazingness of the pastor. I especially loved the pico de gallo, avocado salsa, and the salsa verde. I did not want this meal to end! Ahhh!
Just thinking about how inaccessible these tacos are is making me depressed. I live in metro Detroit and have been trekking to southwest Detroit to try out the taco trucks in the area. They really are pretty good (and getting a lot of love on Yelp Detroit), but they just don't hold a candle to this place. I feel like I watched a blu-ray film on a 60" HDTV with surround sound and then watched a slightly scratched DVD on an older television set. Curse you, Taco Zone, for ruining everything! -
Review from Travis F.

I have tried many taco trucks and this one is the best. BY FAR. The meat is cooked just right and the sauces are incredibly delicious. ESPECIALLY the chunky green avocado salsa. The molitas (sp?) cripple me in the tastiest way and the burritos are quite frankly addictive. Addicts beware. Always amazing and I cant even talk about it without getting some so I have to leave right now

Seen this place buzzing with business every time I went to Von's and always wanted to give it a try.
Finally was able to...I ordered 4 tacos pastor.
This place has great condiments but meat was very dry. I ate here before reading reviews to have an unbiased review....and don't think ill be coming back.
Should have known with all the hipsters here. Best tacos??? No way... I've been eating tacos for over 20 years and even though King taco isn't the best...their tacos are better.
If your near Taco Zone....and want better tacos...head to Taco Ariza! -

YES YES YES, hooray for Taco Zone! This is the place to go after hitting up the Echo/Echoplex, Gold Room, or Spaceland. SERIOUSLY!
I've tried just about all the tacos and I feel the most noteworthy taco here is the tripa - it was so crisp, yet so flavorful and delicious. Eating this reminded me of how I like my carnitas cooked. AWESOME.
Honorable mention goes to the buche and suadero. YUMMERS
Not too big on their salsa, which is quite frankly the only negative thing I have to say about Taco Zone. Other than that - hoo-fuckin-ray for Taco Zone! -

One of the best spots to go after youve hit the bars and need a little something to soak up the booze is Taco Zone. and believe me, it's a zone you want to be in!
I usually get the carne asada tacos, which I would say more closely resemble corned beef hash sans the potatoes, but it is super good. Plus they dont pile on the onions and cilantro, thats for you to do!
They are parked on the side of the street right next to a big parking lot, so no searching for parking required. Next time youre in Echo Park plan on making a stop by and grab a taco or two! -

Unlike Hollywood Suite Outlet, they've earned my business for life.
The lady here calls me prima lol. This is where it's at, I've had almost everything here and it's pretty much the tastiest. My favorites are the suadero (extra crispy of course), cabeza, and tripas. Bean burrito is also pretty awesome, they add quite a bit of cheese though.
Condiment bar is extensive and that REALLY matters to me, so imagine the joy in my soul when I was first introduced to it :) -

This truck is popular. It's become quite a "mainstream" hotspot. If we're rating on crowd, it gets 4 stars. Meat quality is just meh. When I first tried this truck, it was years ago when I was a taco truck noob, so young, starry-eyed and naive. Since poppin' my taco truck cherry (and it wasn't bad), however, I've taco crawled with friends and discovered the best of the best. Unfortunately, this meat is just not as good as you can get elsewhere. Tacos Leo al pastor is the front-runner and the cheapest yet at a flat $1/taco. Sure, 25 cents doesn't seem like a big deal, but when you're going big and getting 4-5 tacos, it adds up to a whole other taco you could be getting. Again, it's not gawd awful, but there are better and not too far away. Rule of thumb, if it looks sketch, it's probably delicious.
See and try: Tacos Arizas, Tacos Leo, Mexicali Taco & Co, Ricky's Fish Tacos, El Tauro, Guisados, etc. -

1. Everything was ok. (asada, lengua and pastor)
2. My fave was the Suadero! Actually very delish!
3. My bfs mulita was extremely burnt.
4. Guac Sauce: Yummo!!
To tell you the truth i probably won't be back, Not because of the food but because the drive over there is horrendous. -

Quite possibly the best taco truck in LA!
Don't believe me? Try their suadero! Or their buche, or tripas, or asada, or anything else.
Que delicioso.
Great staff putting out consistently good product.
Tacos, burritos, or mulitas, after one you'll be sold. If not, bring your left-overs to me!!
