You might almost feel like you are eating street food in mexico when you eat the delicacies that this place puts out.
They are famous for their flautas and there's a good reason why... absolutely savory and delicious with a generous amount of meat and fried to perfection - covered in cabbage (ya know - so you can eat your healthy greens).
The only downside is the serious lack of parking in a tiny spot across from the Hawaiian Gardens casino... maybe 3 spots total in front of the storefront... the good news though - they are moving down the road to a new storefront. -

Arcadia, CA
This place gets 5 stars just for the food. The place is a bit dirty and I'll admit it, I get a little scared showing up by myself to get food here since it's not in the best of neighborhoods. But seriously, if I get mugged, as long as they don't take my food I'm good.
This place has the best Flautas and tacos ever. I always get a half order of beef flautas and carne asada tacos with everything on it. Their flautas are exceptionally crunchy and the guacamole and shredded lettuce on top just adds an extra layer of creaminess and crunch to it. I love, love, love their carne asada tacos. For a fast food joint, this place churns out some pretty tasty tacos. I don't live anywhere near this place but every few months or so I'd go way out of my way just to get my taco fix. I'm hungry just writing this review. Definitely give this place a try! -

Ok-let me start off by saying, I have been coming to this place since High School (Artesia high Alumni) and I am almost close to thirty now........
Let me just say, I compare every freakin burrito to this place and because of this place, I cannot order a burrito anywhere else. Does that tell you how much I love their burritos here?
I normally get the Lengua Burrito but I have also tried the Carne Asada-which is also bomb...
If you're looking for a MEAT FILLED burrito, this is the place to go.
The parking is a little scary. I suggest NOT TO PARK INFRONT of the restaurant but go through the side and see if the back of the restaurant has parking. -

Ive been coming here for years. Even before their first small expansion. Food has always been great. Anything you get is good. The torta is my favorite and the red sauce is the best. Highly recommend this place.

KING TACO IS NO LONGER THE KING! Restaurant is nothing special inside but the food there serving is very special! I can honestly say that the carne asada is the very best I have ever had! The food is authentic and spectacular! I am giving them 5 stars just for the greatness of the food. Everything I have tried there is very tasty! But seriously the best asada in town! I will drive out of my way to eat there. I love tacos san Pedro! Servings are generous and the prices are decent. I recommend this place ;) My only complaint is that its always packed standing room only most of the time. And the parking situation is worse. But that will not stop me from going there. Its well worth it!

Their fish tacos are always amazing..I'm usually at their other location but this one seems much nicer inside and had more seating than mine...since we were in the area I wanted my family to try them out...their carne asade burritos were ginormous and the chicken flautas were also delish!
BTW it is NOT Cash Only..they take Debit cards as well! At least when we were there! -

Hungry driving on the 605 near Hawaiian Gardens? You better exit and make a stop here buddy! Pronto!
Sarah introduced me to this excellent place. It's right across the street from the casino. Here are my thoughts about this joint:
1. There's no parking lot really. Like 4 spots? Good luck finding parking! LOL
2. The place was crowded but there's only 4 cars outside...WTF
3. It's small so fight for a table
4. Tacos are worth steps 1-3!!
Asada tacos were great, Pastor tacos were even better, Pollo tacos were awesome! Pretty good prices and they have spicy carrots! I'm all in! -

Honestly, if your looking for good Mexican food come here! Your taste buds will thank you for bringing here! The parking is really minimum and it gets extremely busy so it crowds up so don't even think about coming during night time. From the pastor taco's to the nacho's with everything and even the horchata everything is BOMB.COM! I've came here so many times and I'm never disappointed. Sometimes I really wished they moved to a bigger location tho because its so hard to get in there.

I've been going here since they opened. You could taste the quality in their meats. I talk to the owner's daughter and she tells me they only buy the best and the most expensive meat available. No wonder the food taste soo good.
This place is one of the best taco places. -

awesome nachos con carne and chicken flautas. Good prices and it definitely hits the spot. The only thing I didn;t like was the super limited parking space.

After a hard workout, it's nice to just stuff your face with some good ol mexican food. I totally need to give props my roommates for bringing me here. The food is bomb! I ordered the steak quesadilla that came out to be a lil more that 5 bucks. The food came out quick but the only downside is they don't have a salsa bar because I love to go crazy with the hot sauce. They give you about 1 thing of salsa but you can always ask for more. Their sauce is legit! I love my food spicy and it definitely made the food taste even better. My quesadilla was a lot bigger than I expected. It was perfectly greasy and cheesy with a generous amount of meat.
The food was so good, I inhaled the WHOLE thing..but it was a lil painful after considering it put me into a food coma for a couple of hours. I can't wait to go back and try out their other foods. -

CASH ONLY!!!
Located near the 605 off of Carson st. is the grandeur that is Taco San Pedro.
Yes this place is small, there is no parking, and service isn't the best; but the food more than makes up for it.
Just like many of the other patrons, I have had my fair share of their menu.
Burritos, Tacos, Fluatas, Gorditas. Sopes, Menudo, Nachos, I have had it all and it is all delicious.
My personal favorites:
Taco de Pescado ($2 ea): grilled fish that has been marinated in a sauce that is unique to the restaurant. Imagine a fish bbq sauce that isn't sweet and a little spicy, similar to an el pastor marinade. The taco is accompanied by cilantro & onion and wrapped in two soft corn tortillas.
Burrito Mojado ($5.95 ea): A hearty burrito in your choice of red or green sauce; filled with cilantro&onion, beans, rice, and your choice of meat (I prefer the Carnitas or Carne Asada).
Sopes ($2.75 ea): A thick based masa similar to a tortilla but about the size of your fist. It is topped with beans, lettuce, onions, tomatoes, cheese, and your choice of meat (Again I suggest Carnitas or Carne Asada)
Little tip about coming here.. avoid coming here too late. The vatos locos from HG like to prowl around these areas. On more than one occasion I have heard of people getting robbed. But as long as the sun is out I suggest stopping by for some delicious food.
The prices here are a little higher than that of your average hole in the wall.. but for the amount of good quality food you get it is quite a bargain. -

Been going here for almost 20 years now. The best carne asada burritos; try them wet with green sauce - too good! Also love the flautas and tacos. I like that they stay open late and the food is always fresh.

Menudo Menudo Menudo. And the tacos are as good as the other reviews claim they are but I just got the menudo and had a few bites of the tacos. Get some.
Do they have Pozoles? I want to try that. If they don't have it. They should. -

TSP might not look like a big deal from the outside but they have bomb a** food! I get the chicken flautas every time and they are the best I've ever had. The cheese enchiladas are great too. The place is always packed no matter what time it is, and the prices are crazy cheap. Read a sign they posted in the restaurant yesterday that they will be moving in Jan, just a heads up.

Pico Rivera, CA
Yes tacos are $2 each but they're not your average 2-bites and I'm done tacos. I can usually go to king Taco and have a sope and 3 tacos and be full but here I can only have a sope and ONE taco! Weak! That's how big they are! Totally worth it!
The meat is cut into big chunks which I like because you can taste the carne asada a whole lot more.
The sope was nice and crispy topped with beans, meat of choice, cheese, lettuce, sour cream, a tomato slice, and an avocado slice. Fork and knife needed...and like a thousand napkins!
Horchata was sweet but yummy.
Salsas were both tasty...mix them together (green and red) for a spicy treat. Enjoy! :) -
Review from kimmy c.
2.4. So i don't stray too far from the chicken/pork/meat category so I cannot attest to the cabeza or lengua (tongue) meat.
Just came back with my to go order and I have to say wow to the service that I received. I'd mark them down to a 1 but some of the food was pretty tasty. Not to go all racist and I'm no embodiment of a calculator but WOMAN. 82 cents. I give you 7 cents. IS NOT 10 CENTS AND DO NOT FIGHT ME ON IT. Some of us can actually DO math and for godsakes you had a register in front of you. She basically gave me a whole lot of lip for an error I'm pretty clear that I did not make.
Also. WHAT MEXICAN FOOD JOINT CHARGES FOR EXTRA SALSA!? They gave me two little tiny containers of red salsa and one green. I have one large order and three tacos. It's obviously not enough salsa even for a non-sauce fanatic. I sure as hell didn't see you say extra charge (this is another woman not register failed math lady) to the other Chicana that asked for salsa. If you want me to bust out my Spanish try me. 5 on the AP BIYOTCH (even though that was worlds and ages ago)
I consumed what I think was a fish taco but it did not look or feel like fish. It was tasty.. but I'm not even sure if it was fish or chicken. Still whatever it was (could have been brains for all i know) it was tasty).
The carnitas was dry but smothered with toppings and with the little ratio of salsa.. needed more salsa.
The asada was also dry but on both the carnitas and the asada~ there's a lot of meat that very slightly justifies the 2+ per taco. It's a little better than albertos/ albertacos.. but with the service and the extra charge for salsa.. definitely not coming back here.
The huraches sounded interesting but I was not a fan. it's basically like a triple corn tortilla (thickness and consistency), poorly heated up, slapped with refried beans, sprinkle of the dry asada and topped with lettuce, one tomato and some feta like cheese. FAIL. No good in my book.
Service was horrible. The "i-think-it-was-fish-cuz-that's-what-i-ordered" was tasty. The asada was okay but drier than what i've had in the past (might be good for smothered fries) and the carnitas was meh.. on the drier side. Lots of meat but hella shiesty on salsa ratios.
Do not recommend. Would not return. Disappointed. -

One of my Favorites!!!
The food here is awesome. I've had it all and you cant go wrong. The flauta's are a staple for me. Mix the red sauce with the toppings and make a little salad. then put that on each bite of the flauta, simply amazing. Their food is a little spicy for those who cant handle the heat. my family always complains about that. but i love spicy, it's not that bad. Burritos and taco's are just how you want them, loaded with meat and very juicy.
The only thing bad about this place is the location and PARKING. Bad area, and parking is tight and slim pickin's.
Otherwise, five star for a whole int he wall joint. A little tip, call in your order and skip the line! This place is always packed. If you forget to call it in though, line moves pretty good. -

This has the BEST cabeza tacos that ive had than anywhere before. I like really tender pieces of cabeza in my tacos and this place not ony has tender pieces but the size of the meat is very generous as well. along with that, even though the tacos are a little pricier than at other places (2 dollars each), the tacos are a little bit bigger than other places.
along with that, the al pastor here has like a kick to it that makes it so delicious! -

Wanted to like this place. Read all the reviews and it looked promising. What a let down. Tacos are $2 each, comparing to 'tacos gavilan' or 'king taco', that's a little bit higher. I would hope that at that price they would not use Guerrero tortillas for their tacos.
Also, whats up with not giving customers extra salsa? Are you really gonna go bankrupt by giving out a few extra gallons of salsa a week? Smh. Especially because compared to other places their prices are a little higher. Maybe get rid of some of those employees which get an attitude because you ask for a jalapeno, even though you asked the guy at the register to please add it to your order? Just sayin'
Anyways, I ordered 1 Lengua taco, 1 Tripa (tripe) taco and an asada guarache. Lengua meat was good. But could not get over the soggy Guerrero tortilla. Tripa meat was WAY too crispy/hard. The guarache was good. Asada meat was good, nothing great.
My girlfriend ordered 2 fish tacos. She was confused that they didn't come with chopped lettuce or cabbage, but said they looked good anyways. She said they were over salted which made them not even taste like fish. I cannot comment on this since I do not eat fish tacos.
Overall I cant believe what everyone was raving about? I rather drive to Downey and eat @ Tacos Gavilan. I really need to find a good mexican food joint around the 605/91 fwys though... -

God's gift to Hawaiin Gardens, an outrageously amzaing hole in the wall mexican restaurant that brings it!! Fill that burrito up with meat for $4 dolla! Huraches, Sopes, all freaking amazing... i'd eat all the food they serve here off the ground or in the alley in the back.... why? b/c it's mofo'n worth it!! LEGIT!! Order any and everything, one of each? Why hasn't the travel channel been her yet?

Way, way, WAY back in the day, a good friend of mine took me to this awesome Mexican joint for lunch. It was a lunch truck sitting in a vacant lot in Paramount (Garfield and Rosecrans). Their carne asada burritos were absolutely BANGIN'! Their food was so popular that they eventually built a brick & mortar restaurant on that same vacant lot. We never bothered to learn the restaurant's real name - we just always called it "The Truck." We used to come in droves and drive for miles for their famous carne asada burritos. Sadly, "The Truck" eventually went out of business (to this day, I still don't know why since they were always extremely busy) and I've been looking for a carne asada burrito as good as theirs ever since. Flash forward 20-years and I think my search is finally over - usher in the reign of Taco San Pedro.
Taco San Pedro's carne asada burrito is ridiculously good. The burrito itself is the classic carne asada burrito - asada seasoned beef, onions, cilantro, and chili sauce. The beef is perfectly seasoned, juicy, and plentiful; the chili sauce mixed with the carne juice is super flavorful and adds just the right kick of heat; and the onions and cilantro balances out all the flavors nicely. I would expect their carne asada tacos to be equally as good, but I haven't tried them yet. They also have very good chicken flautas. Similar to giant taquitos, the flautas are topped with shredded lettuce, a creamy white sauce (not sure what it is), and a crumbly white cheese (kinda like feta or parmesan, but much more mild). A full-order comes with six big flautas and their half-order comes with three.
A few quick tips: The place gets pretty busy, and they don't have much parking (most of the parking surrounding the restaurant is reserved for the adjacent liquor store, but everyone parks there anyway), so be prepared to hunt for parking and wait. Luckily, the restaurant is open fairly late - until midnight on weeknights and 1AM on weekends.
I'm planning on taking my good friend who first introduced me to "The Truck" to see what he thinks. But maybe, just maybe, I found the best carne asada burrito in town.Listed in: Top Guns

TSP is where the mexicans go for mexican so you know its legit.
Wish I could go back to the good 'ole days when the only thing slowing up my order was my poor espanol but I can't hate on their well deserved success. The great thing is the food hasn't changed and is as authentic and delicious as my first visit.
Every meat choice here has great marinade and seasoning with standout flavor that just seems a notch above everywhere else. The menu choices are plentiful (tacos to huaraches) and you just can't go wrong with any.
Aside from the usual stuff here are my special recommendations
Torta Cubana - THE KING OF TORTAS. If your looking for that over the top item get this one. It has all 3 meat choices in it.
Flautas - Big, crunchy, with a salad topper. Great item to split as a meal add on. These things are flying out the kitchen almost every other order.
Menudo - People love it here
Lengua and Cabeza - (Tongue and head meat) delicious specialty cuts
As for the comparison to the something-erto joints, I love carne asade fries as much as the next guy but TSP is a different class of food.
TIPS: Parking here is small and place gets busy at times. -

This place deserves 5 stars except for the long lines and the wait time for food...
I would call in my order , allow 15 minutes before I leave the house and I still have to wait 10 minutes for my food?
I love their steak flautas, I don't know if it's coz of the flautas itself or coz the stuff they pile on it (parmesan cheese, lettuce and guacamole)...
Tripas tacos are sooo good.
Carne asada burritos are good... -

I will admit the food is tasty but bad service can affect overall quality. The only reason they even earned a star was because my huarache with green salsa was good, usually good food automatically earns a place 5 stars in my opinion but here no. Rules rules rules yes they have rules such as not allowing me to order toppings on the side (sour cream/cheese) for my huarache due to their rules, they only allow it for flautas and one other entree which slipped my mind. All I wanted was the normal serving (small amount) that is included in the product price/menu description placed on the side so that my mother who has dietary restrictions (due to a medical condition) and I could share the entree. I in no way wanted nor asked for extra free items I just wanted what they promise and what I'm paying for placed on the side of my plate, they didn't even need to waste extra containers for it since being the cheap business they are wouldn't want to waste. If a business wants loyal customers, or any customers at all take care of them, but maybe that's just a personal belief. I've been going there for a few years now and I've overlooked many things like skimping on the salsa and selling it or charging for refills because I understand the economy and wasting things that they're paying for and I also might overlook that they try to get out of giving you the one salsa per order rule that's posted but not allowing me to have my paid toppings on the side wow that's not how you ask people to return. I expect a taco shop to charge extra for extra things and be cheap but not to this extent. I doubt I will be returning to this taco shop.

THIS PLACE IS A DUMP!
Okay, I gave this dump a second chance since a Yelper (no profile) sent me a message saying to give this place another try because the food is very good, and that the food tasted like his/her mother's cooking. I responded to this Yelper very cordially saying okay I will give it another shot and thank the person for taking the time to send me a message.
So I returned to this place tonight and gave it another try...
Ambiance is still the same as I remembered from the first time...skiddish. Okay fine, I set that aside and was determined to focus soley on the taste of the food.
However, everthing was hellish from start to finish. First off this place is sooooo friggn stingy with their salsa, again no big deal, I bought 2 extra salsa @ .50 each. So I was done placing my order and my number was 41. So i was waiting patiently (even though it has been 10 mins)for my order and the counter girl yells "cuarenta y dos". Huhhm, ok no problem.
Another 2 minutes passed, once again the counter girl yells "cuarenta y tres" "forty three". Now I was getting perturbed so I aproached the counter and stood there waiting to get a chance to ask the counter guy to check on my order. But I was ignored and the dude continued to take orders from other customers. The counter girls did not even ask If I needed help. Please note, after cuarenta y tres, cuarenta y cuatro got her to go order before my cuarenta y uno order.
Finally I got my order, total of 4 items carne asada burrito, carnitas burrito, fish taco and pastor quesadilla...I repeat, total of 4 items. The first thing I noticed was there were 4 red salsas on the tray. I ordered green, secondly why only 4 salsas if I paid for 2 extras? Fine I was still composed and friendly. I addressed the mix up with the counter girl about the green vs red salsa...OMG this chick turned wacko and nervously took the 4 salsas like they were friggn liquid gold. The other counter girl got the green salsa and she gave me 5, cinco salsas...again I paid for 2 extra salsa so do the math, I should get a total of six. So I addressed that again with Linda Blair Jr. and then all of a sudden Linda Blair Sr. Joined in the argument. Linda Sr started giving me some lame excuse that the burritos only come with 1 small salsa...blah, blah, blah. So I just said, okay no friggn big deal, I'll just shut up and get back to my table.
I got back to my table upset. So to make the long story short I did not remember how the food tasted. I was so upset to enjoy the food. I will say this again, service and ambience make a big difference in one's dining experience. I would gladly pick a mediocre food but with excellent service and a comfy dining atmosphere, than to have a very delicious food but the service suck and the atmosphere is hell.
I will never go back to this hell hole ever again.
P.s. Linda Blair = EXORCISTListed in: Me NO like!

The FWB needed some food after smoking a little too much and he was craving mexican ffod. Yelped this place and I headed on over.
We had:
Flautas- They were okay. Nothing majorly special, but there are six in an order so 2 or 3 people can share. Good deal.
Cubano- OMFG! I hate tortas, buth this shit was the BOMB!
Tacos- Pastor and chicken- very good and a nice size for $2 each.
PLUS Horchata. I would def go back next time he gets the munchies for mexican. -

Want to put a smile on my face? Then deliver me an order of flautas, a side of pickled carrots, salsa verde, and horchata from Taco San Pedro. Back when I used to eat red meat, their asada and lengue tacos also hit the spot. But the flautas are the real star here. Literally every other person orders them. Unlike other taquitos, these are covered in a delicious salad of guacamole, lettuce, sour cream, queso fresco. I honestly don't care if they only take cash or that the line can sometimes run out the door. It's worth it.

BEST Mexican food!!
why pay over 10bucks a plate for mexican food at places like el torito when you can come to small mom and pop shops like san pedro for cheaper and BETTER food. This is the place to get authentic mexican food. Not americanized places like albert tacos.. im talking bout the real stuff. i've been coming here for over 5+ years now. My go to mexican joint.
Fish Taco... LOVE IT! Well seasoned, lots of cilantro and onions with red salsa. best part? Its not battered and fried like most places! So much healthier and better tasting than fried ones! I have yet to find a place that sells fish taco non fried and taste as good as these.
Beef Burrito... Large and DELICIOUS!.. im normally not a fan of pulled beef... but this is SOOO good! I normally opt for carne asada instead of beef at mexican joints but i don't know how san pedro does it but they make their beef taste sooo good!!
Chicken Burritos... i've only had this once cause i would normally rather go for the beef.. but it is still good!! for someone that can't take ANY spicy at all i would recommend you tell them no salsa or no spice. Cause my friend said that it was spicy.. but I couldnt taste any.. but then again.. I LOVE spicy :P
Flautas... soo goooddd! saw a review complainig about the overload on lettuce.. but I actually like it with that much lettuce. It tastes less fatty and fried. Best thing is.. they have half order for those that only want 1 or 2 (: sometimes this can be a little over fried though.
overall.. this is the best mexican place i've been to hands down. I've been to kings taco only once so im not a complete fan. San pedros tacos are definitely bigger in proportion for sure though. Definitely recommend if you are ever around the area! -

I think I've fallen in love.... With Tacos San Pedro that is!
This place is a total whole in the wall, but that's where they usually have the best food right? My friend and I got the steak quesadillas and chicken flautas to share. It was soooo good and flavorful!! I went there last night for dinner, and I'm still thinking about the food today!! The flautas weren't too greasy and I liked the crispy shell. The quesadillas were really good too! I can't wait to go back to try their other menu items!
The service was nice and friendly. The guy at the register was pretty funny. Thank you Melanie S. for recommending this place to me! I will definitely be back to Tacos San Pedro. Hopefully, soon!
FYI. There's parking available in the back of the restaurant. I didn't know this and ended up parking on the street.Listed in: My love for Mexican Food

Feed Yo kids and hide yo wife!
I've been coming to TSP for over 11 years. When I first ate here it used to be all locals, and no one else. Now I see all sorts of people coming in. This place is Super Duper Official for short order Mexican food. Im surprised that people are comparing this place to Molcasalsa or Albertacos, which in my opinion is the top spots for pure mud butt.
Anyhow depdending on what your craving this is what I recommend:
1) Carne Asada Quesadilla- Home made tortillas with some greesy ass cheese and juicy beef. It may not be good for you but, who cares?
2) Fish Tacos- There not breaded and in my opinion blows Rubios out of the water, based on taste and authenticity
3) Flautas- Can't go wrong if you want something crunchy
In all you can't go wrong if you order anything on the menu. Just make sure you order your Large Horchata to wash down your food with. -

You would need a bunch of napkins just to wipe the tasty goodness of their tacos, floutas, burritos, etc in your mouth. i personally like the floutas since it has that crunchness and juicyness of the beef inside. me and the gf always get two tacos, a burrito and half-floutas for only 14 bucks. we didnt even finish the burrito, which costs only 5 bucks. the hot sauce is pretty spicy and is not for your average joe. when we go here, we always notice mexicans come and go and you know what they say, if the locals go, then it must be really really good. now talk about mexican food. this is a good stop to satisfy great hunger. their tacos are only 2 bucks which would probably go up to 5 bucks in other places depending on size. this is a good place to go to if you're craving mexican food.

I've been eating here for almost a decade now. I frequent this location as much as I do Tacos Chavas on Norwalk Blvd. Taco San Pedro has the best flautas I can find in SoCal. If I find a new spot for flautas, I will be sure to yelp about it, until then Taco San Pedro gets the number one spot. The tacos are full size soft tacos in double corn tortillas. Burritos are tasty and very filling. You have your choice of various types of meat. The food is always cooked to order. The red salsa is spicy but not hot, if you like the slight burn of the salsa, get the green salsa.
There's almost always a line late into the evening. I call in my order and just walk up to the front of the line and pay for the order to avoid the line. The staff is friendly, speaks and understands English.
I recommend you enter the alley way and park in the back of the restaurant. It's much easier then trying to find a spot in the front. Shhhh not many peeps know about this.))
