this place used to fulfill my weekly burrito cravings. I lived in NOVA for 6 years and worked all those years about 2 blocks from this place.
a true hole in the wall , this place has the menu in spanish and they speak only spanish here. the cute owners daughter speaks english but she is rarely there.
this place employs women with a lot of homely influence. eating food here was like eating food served by your spanish mother.
the darn burrito is huge . the burritos here make rats bell burritos look like hamburger compared to a big mac
i loved the steak burrito and the tapas here. their tacos were very tasty and the portions were good. they have assorted sauces outside for everyone.
i always went here for lunch , the restaurant has another half but it looked like that was open only in the night time.
also i used to catch up on my spanish day time soaps. i never understood a darn word but it was entertaining. this place also has a juke box playing traditional mexican folk music.
for folks driving 95, this place is only half a mile from the interstate in woodbridge ,take the 161 exit i think or the exit for 123s.
highly recommend it -

I couldn't tell you if this place is authentic or not, but what I can tell you is that my experience here was not the solid four star rating that it's been given on Yelp thus far. For starters... the wait for the food was a bit excessive. It took about 15 minutes for the food to come out, which would be fine... if it were a full on restaurant and I weren't the only patron.
The set up is more like cafeteria/to-go style, with Styrofoam plates and plastic forks. Had I known that prior to ordering, I would have just asked for it "to-go", and eaten it at home. I forgot to ask if they have to go boxes, so I will have to figure that out next visit.
The food was OK, but really nothing special. It was "good enough" (see: conveniently located to my house) that I'd be willing to try it out again and get something different (I ordered the chicken enchilada with red sauce... chicken was a bit dry, beans were canned, and the rice was inexplicably gross). I hear the taco's are where it's at. I conveniently ignored this fun fact for no rational reason.
The location left a bit to be desired. Sure, it's half a mile from my humble abode, but it was tucked away in a somewhat shady shopping plaza and was difficult to find on first glance. If you don't know you need to veer right, and to go to the location has a sign that says, "THE TACO PLACE", you'll end up circling the other random stores in the shopping center.
Also, a double dose of sadness was that a horde of teenagers were leering at my smart car, pointing and laughing at it as I watched from inside The Taco Place. While the worlds smallest violin played, a single tear rolled down my cheek as I chomped on my cheesy enchilada. -

Place is aight. I went with the tacos since they specialize in Mexican Style Tacos. I ordered 3 tacos all different meats and a Inca Cola. I was not too impressed. I think you need to actually order something more bona fide besides conservative Tacos.
They had two menus overhead the cashier. One is completely spanish and the other was a quarter spanish. Maybe I should have paid more attention to my high school spanish classes then....
Luckily, the cashier was fluent in both spanish and english. I was thankful she could successfully crossover my order and tell me what some of the romance language meant on the menu.
The decor is very nice. It has a mom and pop feel to it with unique mexican dishes spread in a row all across the walls. I also like the how the prices were easy on the pockets.
I noticed while ordering, that the cooks there were preparing tortas like nobodys business. I mean they were gone like hotcakes. Another dish that looked and probably tasted better than mine is the menudo. I am willing to update this review and explore their authentic dishes. I should have gotten something else besides chicken/pastor pork/cow tongue tacos. -

I remember going here as a kid, and I was surprised to see that this place was still open, so I went to go check it out.
I'm pretty sure this place used to occupy just one spot in the strip mall it's in, but it looks like they knocked out a wall to expand....and then just never expanded. That was kind of weird.
The woman at the cashier seemed to speak English well enough, actually I had no trouble ordering. I ordered three steak tacos to go, and while I was waiting the nice cashier lady offered me little cups to take salsas home. I thought that was really nice.
I took the tacos home and sampled each one with a different salsa. The meat was tender, but kind of bland. The salsas were fresh, but pretty standard.
I'll probably go back here again, but I'll have to drag someone along with me as it was kind of awkward just standing in the big, half empty, ill-lit room while being the only Caucasian in the joint. -

After having this place plugged mercilessly by my boss, I finally caved and went. I ordered 2 chicken burritos, 2 pork tamales, a cheese quesadilla, and a steak taco- the total was $17.75. It took about 15ish minutes for the lovely women who work there to make everything, while I chatted with Vivian, who speaks english. Oh.My.Gosh. It was so awesome! I took it home to my family. The quesadilla was for my daughter and I swear it had at least 8 oz of cheese on it. The burritos were large, with lots of meat, beans, rice, and cheese. The tamales were SO good! Oh gosh- I can't wait to have this place again- probably next weekend when I don't feel like cooking again! I really loved it, as did my family. There are so many other things to try there too.

Yummy Yummy Yummy. I come here when I am in the mood for a nice leisurely taco. They usually take a while to get your food out, but it is well worth the wait. The food is so fresh, they are probably literally killing the cows and chickens out back after you order. I always get the Steak Fajita Taco.
