8 reviews for Taco Gol
They have recently been working from the Shell station parking lot on 45th in Wallingford across from the now closed Winchell's Donuts.
They are a great addition to the neighborhood. Their tacos are tasty and service is fast too! Prices can't be beat.
Taco Gol recently moved across the street from Starbucks headquarters in SoDo. I saw it on my break and figured I would check it out. I ordered a Veggie Grand Slam Burrito and I was instantly hooked. The service was fast and friendly. The burrito was one of the best I have had in Seattle and also one of the cheapest. Try this place as soon as possible.
Bonus: If you work at the Starbucks Support Center, show them your badge to get $1.00 off your order. Win.
Taco Gol is a little Mexican food truck that I have the pleasure of knowing. I work about a block and a half down from this place and one day a co-worker suggested we go for lunch. Sure! I love me some burritos. For my first visit I had the standard vegetarian burrito: beans, rice, cheese, and pico de gallo. Not too bad but I was expecting a bit more. Not one to completely write a place off I went again and had the potato and egg burrito. Deliciouso! I have yet to go to another Mexican joint around these parts that offers that kind of burrito. And at $5 you can't beat it especially for its enormous size. Thank god I have the guns to lift that thing.
Aside from the burritos Taco Gol has your typical Mexican truck foods: tacos, quesadillas, meats. I have yet to try anything else because I just can't stray away from my beloved burritos...at least not yet. They also have Jarritos (Mexican soft drinks) and horchata.
Since this is in the Sodo district it does close early and to my knowledge is not open on the weekends. The best bet is to go for lunch but head over early, like 11:30 early, to beat the crowds. Be prepared to wait for your food. There is only one cook back there slaving away so you must be patient.
This taco truck is a total deal! I went here on Monday for lunch with a girl friend and was pleased to have no line (and while we ate there were never more than two people waiting)!!! I had the veggie burrito which I could only finish half of because of how huge it was-but it was delicious, filled with beans, cheese, rice, lettuce, tomatoes and the option of sour cream or guac. My friend had their special burrito and loved it as well. As we were leaving we noticed all the salsas, too bad we missed those but will sure be back to try everything with salsa!
Really good, a nice variety of fillings, and they have Mexican cane sugar Coke. And cheap: Tacos are about a buck apiece. They also have tortas, for which I will be back. The only thing they're missing is beer.
Almost didn't find it because they've moved from the Deli Mart parking lot on 1st, seems even taco carts are feeling the squeeze of the Man. Accidentally found them a couple blocks south on Occidental behind Peco's Pit BBQ - super glad I did.
Ordered their combo #3 w carnitas torta, lengua taco, and a Mexi coke. The torta was HUGE - felt like twice the size of tortas I've had at other trucks/ carts around town - and packed with meat. The carnitas had awesome flavor and the other toppings were fresh and vibrant. The lengua taco was one of the better ones I've had in Seattle, well seasoned good texture - frikkin yum! All this for $7
Four stars for now, gonna go back and try some of their other items.
Located right next to the First Ave Deli Mart, Taco Gol has grown quite a bit over the past few months. One day it might even expand past its taco-truck exterior. And when that day comes, be ready for some giant barritos and tacos served at an incredible price. You can seriously get a 6lb. chicken barrito for only $5. The other cool thing is that they serve real Mexican Coca-Cola made with real sugar and stuff.
For a quick lunchtime stop, Taco Gol is a pretty good spot to try. Especially since the other nearest taco truck is probably 10 miles away.
It's a burrito from a truck, and it's delicious and cheap. If you expect anything else you are going to the wrong spot. But if you like enormous portions of cheap delicious Mexican food... you are home.
