I'm giving Taco Fiesta 4 "drunk" stars because I've eaten here maybe 6 times and every time I've been intoxicated.  The Chicken BRC (not on the menu) is killer and any place that serves Pepsi gets props in my book (Coke is terrible).

An added bonus is that the Arby's next door provides a great place to urinate or vomit after a hard night of partying.

Taco Fiesta aka "Taco Party", you steal my heart on those random nights of those mexican food cravings....

your salsa is like red crack!

California fries- oh how do i love thee! California burrito with sour cream & guac (& yes you must request the last 2) you are delish! Alpastor tacos you are yummy! Cheese quesadilla you are the go-to! beef tacos you used to be my love, but you have digressed. Carnitas tacos always hits the spot!

ALways get extra salsa!

I can't vouch for 2am drunk trips or dinner trips, but I can say with confidence that complete idiots man this place during the lunchtime hours. After awhile, I started expecting my orders to be screwed up so I wouldn't be so disappointed by it.

The drive-thru situation goes something like this:

"..elp you!?"
"Hi. I need one order of two cheese enchila.."
"Enchiladas?"
"...Yea..cheese enchiladas with"
"ok, cheese enchiladas. that's it?"
"...no. On those enchiladas, I don't want any lettuce or tomato."
"Ok that's it?"
"..and a carne asada burrito, a beef tac.."
"that's it?"
"What? ...a carne asada burrito and a beef ta.."
"ok"
"Ok what!?"
"hot sauce?"
"Wait... I still need"
"Total at the window"

When you get up to the window, they ask you how many hot sauces you want. You might as well grunt because they either cannot count, or just ask the question as a pleasantry. You could order one or ten items and you're still getting three sauces.

Oh, and your carne asada burrito seems to have turned out alright but guaranteed you didn't receive your beef taco and opening your enchiladas exposes the sad reality that lettuce and tomato reside atop your enchiladas. Against your request of course.

Good food,  major rip off!!!  I have been here dozens of times.  Go there at the lunch hour and you will get ripped off almost everytime.  The guy tacked on $2 today on a five dollar order.  The last three time s the price has been wrong (always on the high side).  I argued with the guy one time and he flat out told me the price was more than it was regardless of what the menue said.  Keep an eye on the prices!!!

A friend of mine went here and they charged her $93 on her card for a burrito and some rolled tacos. They did not know how to void the chaarge so it took 5 hours for the money to be put back in her account. Unfornutatly this withdrew her account happening at 5pm on a sat leaving her an account balance of zero when. The owner angelie said what do you want me to do? Then before she could say any thing she laughed and said borrow the money from your boyfriend.
I will never go here again and suggest others not to do business with people who operate with such incompetence.

I've been going to Taco Fiesta for nearly 10 years now, and I still like it. I've seen the prices increase and the soda selection change, but the food is still good. My favorite items are the California Burrito and the fish tacos - both are really good.

If I have one major "beef" with Taco Fiesta though, it would be the inconsistency. I'm never quite sure what quality of food I am going to be getting, nor customer service, or even the number of hot sauces. It can change without any rhyme or reason. You might as well ask a Magic 8-ball. Nonetheless, without question, Taco Fiesta is worth the visit.

Oh how I love thee Taco Fiesta, the place I frequent with my friends at 2 am. Thank you for giving us an order of rice when we really asked for limes. Thank you for not minding when people are across the way at Arby's hurling what they drank earlier that evening. Thank you for not minding when people pop a squat at that nearby dumpster.

On a more serious note, this is the place my friends and I go to after a night in PB or downtown. The main choices for me are either a quesadilla or Cali burrito. I have actually even been here for some breakfast burritos which are HUGE and cheap. I particularly like Taco Fiesta's California Burrito because they don't put guacamole in it; I'm not the biggest avocado fan (shocking, I know! esp as a born and raised Californian).

I will say that I am very pleased they accept Visa and Mastercard now. It sucked going here not having any cash and having to settle with Sombrero.

Decent Mexican food and a place to hit up if you are in the area.
Carne asada here is about average and taste ok.  The fries are alright, not the best but is reasonable and edible.

It's 2am
A mexican craving hits but I'm looking for something new.
I get on yelp and lo and behold I find this place.

Hallelujah.

I've got to warn you guys, this place has huge proportions.  And I eat alot.  I ordered Tacos Alpastorx2 and 3 rolled tacos with guac.  It was soo much food!  Granted I didn't know that there'd be enough meat on the tacos to fill 3 tacos, perhaps even 4 (they give you 2 tortillas each), but it definitely filled my appetite.

The only thing i'd do different next time, other than order less food is add some guac to my tacos, because that would have made them magical.

Service: 4 a bit on the slow side
Price: 5 so cheap
Food: 5 delish

Overall 4, but very very close to 5!

it is very hit or miss for me.

i check my food every time, if i didn't i wouldn't be able to eat half of the food i bought.  the last time i went there, i ordered 5 items for me and my friends.  i had to have them make 3 of them over again because they didn't listen to me.

their hot sauce isn't that bad, but it's not great.

i like that they have chicken rolled tacos because i did not eat red meat for a number of years.

they used to have a mortal combat video game, but it went away a long time ago.

i voted no for good for groups because the more food you order, the more of a chance they'll mess up.

The perfect destination for drunkards.  Quality Mexican food served 24-hours a day, plus if you're there at the right time prostitutes are around the corner if you happen to fail in your nightly ambitions..

Within a 1-mile radius of my house, there are at least four Mexican shops: Trujillo's, Los Panchos, and two others. I could easily walk to one of these four shops, but I'd rather go for the 3-mile drive down Mission Gorge to visit my ol' favorite Taco Fiesta.

Been going to Taco Fiesta since I moved down to San Diego ... about four years now. I remember when their CA burritos were $3 and when they didn't accept credit/debit cards!

Order my favorite, a "California Burrito con crema y guacamole, y una horchata" -- or their Tacos Al Pastor are very yummy too. Or if you're with a friend, share the California Fries! If you're in the College Area, this place is definitely great for a late-night bite (open 24 hours), or for an anti-hangover meal.

Con: no indoor seating, so bring a sweater if it's chilly outside, or eat in your car. Also, no bathroom (though I think they have a mutual agreement with Arby's across the parking lot).

This place is amazing.  A true gem of San Diego mexican food dining.
I have not been disappointed by a single item from their menu, which has lots of variety.  I haven't had everything...but the rolled tacos are good, beef tacos, tacos al pastor, california burrito, tostadas, and oh man...the california fries, THE BEST!  Good for one person if you're really hungry, or get them to share with your friends!
Seating is limited here, so its probably best to drive through, especially if you've got a large group.  The prices are very fair and the service is quick.

I love San Diego!!!

REVISED: ok, after i came back from san diego... let's just say that 3 out of the 4 of us who ate here spent a lot of time on the porcelain! if it was possible to give 0 stars, i would. never...eat...here...again...

---------
so i can imagine this 24 hr restaurant being a place to go during late nights for sober food. i tried the famous 'california burrito", which consist of carne asada, fries and cheese inside a burrito. pretty tasty if you add some hot sauce to it.

the perfect meal after a night of drinking and/or dancing!!! i get either the carne asada fries and share with someone (too much to eat by your lonesome) or a california burrito. with the hot sauce and a couple slices of lime of course!

i've also tried their quesedilla, but mainly stick to the burrito.

if you don't want to have a hangover in the morning, eat this before going to bed, it soaks up all the alki!! haha, at least it's worked for me many a times.

and don't think it's just drunken food. i've been here many times for sober meals, and it's just great.

update:
i've tried their fish tacos, and their awesome as well!!! fried crispy fish, and that white sauce is perfect in the corn tortillas. although it fell apart and i had to eat it with a fork, you better believe that my friend and i cleaned that styrofoam box.

I hated living in Mission Valley but I do sorely miss the chile relleno burrito from Taco Fiesta!  When I was a regular customer, I called it "that teal place" because I could never remember the name.  The California burrito here is good too.  I love the ghetto broken speaker, you can't tell if they are speaking English or Spanish, but you always get what you ordered anyway.  Good ol Taco Fiesta!

This place is the bomb when it comes to Mexican food, everything is really, really good.  The California burrito that i usually get is good or the carne asada fries, wow! i can't finish that whole thing by myself.  You have to go there, i don't think they ever close, i believe it's a 24 hour place just like a true taco shop.

I've been going here for a long time.   The food is pretty good, mainly because they don't skimp on the cheese which always bothers me about places.... because what is "American" Mexican food without lots of cheese?

However the food has gotten quite expensive lately.    Prices have been going up and because of this I am not sure it is completely worth it for a hole in the wall drive-thru.      The employees can also be a little sketchy.

I usually get the California burrito or anything with al pastor.  I also, like how the hot sauce is hot.  At a lot of the other Mexican places I go to the 'hot sauce' tastes vinegary, too mild, etc... taste like anything but hot.  Taco Fiesta does not have this issue.

Like the other review mentioned there's no indoor seating.  That's true.  There's nothing that really stands out about this place except for the food.  I'm happy to eat on the tile benches or get it to go.

Taco Fiesta is the best taco shop in San Diego.  That's a bold claim but I'll make it.  I think their stand out dish is anything al pastor.
