Gr8 food, Gr8 price. Love the black bean tacos and warm tortillas, so fluffy and cuddly like a fav blanket. Heard the quesadillas and crispy tacos hit the spot! Only fast food place I've seen that serves liquor. Nice patio too.

I've had some good and bad experiences with this location.
Sometimes the tacos would be a disgusting greasy mess, literally covered and dripping. Other times the food would be good.
Just a side note: one time my girlfriend and I were about to order, and a customer walked up and complained to the cashier that there was a fly in his food. My girlfriend and I both left and went to Chick-fil-A ;) -

So we were on our way to the Canton First Monday Trade Days and we needed fuel and some early afternoon food.
We ended up stopping at this Taco Cabana (after a quick coffee run @ Starbucks) and got something to eat.
I ended up ordering the advertised Cabana Bowls, but I was finding that ordering was quite a challenge.
Usually I love having options, but sometimes there are just way too many options given (this one for example).
The questions were...
What kind of meat? Chicken, Beef, Fajita Chicken or Beef
Cheese? Guacamole? Sour Cream? Pico De Gallo?
What kind of beans? Black Beans? Borracho? Refried?
Ok... pretty typical, then the questions got a little strange...
Do you want the crispy bowl?
What kind of lettuce would you like? Iceberg, Romaine...
I was a little shocked when she started asking me these questions, and I tried to respond as soon as I realized what she was asking.
Maybe it's just me, but I wish they would simplify that process a little more for these Cabana Bowls (or maybe follow Which Wich's process as an example?)
The lobby was clean and.... wait. Did they just call my number? Yeah! They don't have a speaker system in the restaurant so they've resorted to yelling out the order numbers from the kitchen (while I'm way over in the dining area, separated by a wall and soda machines).
Anyhow, the Cabana Bowl was delicious (and pretty reasonably priced). -

Ahhhh...Taco Cabana. Many was the night in my misspent youth where an evening (and subsequent morning) of clubbing in Deep Ellum or Greenville was followed by a quick trip to Taco Cabana for their Fajita Nachos. And as a recent late-night revisit brought home to me, their food still satisfies in the wee-morning hours! Why? As President Clinton was want to say, "It's the cheese, stupid!" Okay, maybe that was actually me. But in any event, the queso they use here could be classified as its own food group, its so addictive.
This is fast-food mexican done right! -

Irving, TX
Service may not be the Taco Cabana's strong point, but the food remains consistently good. This location in south Grand Prairie, just north of the I-20 and Carrier Parkway intersection, is at least very clean, unlike it's Irving (183) counterpart, and the counter service is friendly and efficient.
I ordered the regular $1.99 cheese nachos, while my husband ordered the black bean burrito. The latter is tasty and makes a decent healthy meal, but the nacho serving was disappointing, with just a small handful of chips and way too many little broken pieces at the bottom. Fortunately, you just have to ask for a second helping of chips, and they happily refill your bowl for free.
Service was very slow -- we waited nearly ten minutes for our order, despite its simplicity and the fact that it was 3pm on a Saturday afternoon, and there appeared to be more staff than customers in the restaurant. Not exactly fast food, and no one apologized to us for the wait. Staff just appeared a little disorganized, and frankly, it's par for the course at the few Taco Cabanas I've been to.
Still, Taco Bell may have them beat when it comes to speed, but for the quality of the food, it's pretty good. -

Great Food, usually great service with the occasional hiccup, but it IS fast food technically. I could eat here almost every day of the week. I like Chicken Flautas w/ guacamole on the side, also the breakfast tacos are great.
