I'm bummed that I didn't meet Rod Stewart but I had several good meals here on a recent trip to Florida.

The ambience is South Florida meets Rodeo Drive with requisite Bentley's, Maserati's and Ferrari's parked outside.

As an example, lunch for 3 runs about $100 so this is not a cheap getaway but rather a power lunch.

My 9 year old son had the Mahi Mahi and loved it. I had the daily steak special and it was good.  My wife had a vegetarian plate and she was happy with it. The star was a bowl of chili that I had as part of the soup course. Wife and son ate 90% of it so it must have been good.

Spend some time walking around the neighborhood after lunch or before dinner, it is a beautiful neighborhood...

I deliberated between a 3 and 4. The food was very good. My wifes duck was amazing. My tuna good, but didn't match my all time favorite from Long Island.

The service was good, but somehow not quite polished. But our waiter was nice enough to give us a paper with the name of the wine I had which I really liked.

We wished we had known that famous people frequented here so we could have looked around a little more.

Overall we enjoyed. Pricey but fairly good food.  Maybe for a special event I'd consider again.

If classy tropical decor and people watching/spotting is what your after--come here. Maybe have drinks and skip the food, while not bad by any means, the food was nothing memorable and/or creative although the prices are high.

Although the decor looks like the Rainforest Cafe, the food and the people watching are pure Palm Beach.  The place was packed at 1:30 p.m. but we managed to get a table for 6 fairly quickly.   The pear and brie pizza was truly excellent - as was the pepperoni pizza.  My lunch companions was happy with their salads.  But, nothing compares to the people watching, especially watching the tall, willowy blond models, stopping at each table to advertise their clothes and jewelry.  With not too many choices to dine around Worth Avenue, Taboo is a fine choice - just not too special (except for that pear and brie pizza).

Diner food that makes a palm beach scene come true. Keep your order simple and eat at the bar- the cast of characters come alive and give you a Palm Beach taste.

So we went to Worth Ave in Palm Beach to stroll down the avenue, count the Bentley's and people watch.  We also stopped into this very popular spot along the avenue for lunch.  We had two different salads, a sandwich and a pizza.  The meal was well presented and the service was good.  The food was just ordinary. How about a Niciosse  Salad using canned tuna.  Get the picture?  I don't think this place would survive in any other locale.

Taboo is one of our favorite places to go in Palm Beach to start an evening.  Great service - atmosphere - drinks and food.  Taboo has a really good "feel" to it and we have never left there in a bad mood.

Taboo is where i go to people watch on a Thursday or Friday night. Older crowd and expect to see Rod Stewart here.  Often.  I've run into him about 6-7 times and have said hello to Mr. "do ya think I'm sexy". I secretly wonder if he lives in a  nook above these worth ave shops, and drops down for dinner.   That's how much I've run into him.

There are always pretty ladies, around 40-45 wandering around.  They are always charming the 60-75 year old men that are at the bar.  It always reminds me that i should start thinking about getting botox... because these women look great!.

The food is wonderful- and the service is top notch.  Location calls for Valet, and that is annoying- but I deal with it by parking near saks and walking the sweet fun walk all the way up worth...

Ever have pears ?  ever have pizza?  Want to have them together?  This pear pizza is off the charts...and the pizza is amazing-
I actually had two bites of my sisters pizza from here.

We sat in the "front room" which we were told was the most requested room to "see and be seen."  We arrived at 7:30 for our reservation and you would have thought it was the early bird special hour.  When the hostess told us the front room was for the "in" crowd, I just knew it was Palm Beach, no one in that room was under 65 (except us, 30  years under 65!)

In any case, the hostess took our drink order and brought them quickly.  The waiter arrived 10 minutes later and brusquely took our order without introducing himself.   It went like this:  "Have you decided?"   Really?  No "hello, my name is...how are you?  We have specials or we dont have specials, welcome to Ta-boo"  nothing!

We ordered stone crab legs for an appetizer - OK, hard to get out of the shell, they don't serve them cracked.  Chicken Paillard with greek salad and hommus.  It was OK - the hommus gave the chicken some flavor.  Chopped entree salad - also OK, too much egg.  Waiter, Michael_87 (according to our reciept) NEVER came back to see how our food was.  We got it at 8:10 and were finished by 8:30.  Food plates sat in front of us for 15 minutes, no one offered to remove them.  By that time, I was fed up.  I flagged Michaell_87 down, asked for the check.  Before he could mention dessert, I said no.

We left a 1% tip.  I never do that but this guy was a jerk.  I'm sure you say he was tipping out the other workers - well, I never saw a busser or a water refill person.  I hope the whole 1% went to the hostess, she's the only one who deserved anything.

Won't be back, wouldn't recommend unless you are a PB local and you know the staff - they seemed to be treated quite a bit more nicely.

I second the review that mentioned the brie and pear pizza, which had I been wearing socks would have knocked them off.  You know that a dining experience is epic when you return 2, or was it 3 times within a 4 day visit.  I traveled there in late May (ok just catching up on Yelps), but I haven't forgotten how special this place was.

The bar is great for solo diners, and the bartenders make you feel right at home.

Old school establishment (its just how Palm Beach rolls) and you're guaranteed to overhear some amusing conversations and tales about Palm Bach when you sit at the bar, whether it's about someone who lost millions to Bernie or someone struggling with the prospect of flying coach to their vacation destination.

The Happy Hour menu is such a great deal, although I imagine that it's not offered during the peak season.  The wine list is great too.  It's totally old school so the menu isn't all that innovative, but they've mastered the classics.

Quick service, pretty extensive brunch menu, and while prices were higher - I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off. We started with a small nachos - which was pretty good - and not exactly small. I had the puff pastry brie with fresh fruit which was very good. My husband had the prime rib with eggs which he seemed to enjoy. Was a nice quiet place to enjoy lunch after walking around Worth Ave.

Wow, was today a disappointment! Thought I would enjoy a nice Sunday brunch at a well-established and reliable (so I thought) dining establishment in Palm Beach, but that was not to be. The once popular restaurant was nearly a ghost town and the food was mediocre, with rather small portions. To make matters worse, my family had not yet finished with their appetizer salads, when the waiter shows up with the entrees. Instead of taking them back to the kitchen or at least covering the plates, he placed them on a corner table underneath the air conditioning vents. Needless to say, the fish entrees were cold. Not good!

This place has not been as much fun since Willie Kennedy Smith tainted the old hood with his shannagans at Au Bar.  Why does the Iced Tea here taste creamy and a little like chocolate milk?  I like the Turkey with stuffing sandwich, Lobster & Seafood Risotto with Tomato-Tarragon Coulis.  Outstanding!

When I was a younger man and I watched the ultra thin women walking from table to table I was in awe of someone who knew everyone.  The next time I was there a friend told me that the woman was a pro looking for a date.  (Wow, I thought she is hot and dressed extremely well for a hooker)

I later (much later) found out it was a bunch of models from the nearby shops showing off the new fashions of the stores.  Thats embarrassing!

I never shared that with anyone before and now feel my soul is pure.

Taboo is on our list of spots we go to regularly for dinner, although the lunch scene here is always active too. And it's on the bar circuit which means you start here for a few, then head over to Bice for a few and then wind up at Palm Beach Grill for a few. Me,  I'm a one drink man so that's not my thing, just sayin'.

The food here is excellent and this spot is a favorite for the Palm Beach crowd. Stop by for lunch or dinner and then take a leisurely stroll down Worth Avenue, one of the premier shopping venues in the world. Very, very pretty...don't miss the little side streets and if you listen in on the conversations, you'll hear just about every major language spoken here by the well heeled shoppers.

If there were some of your classic Palm Beach characters here when we went in for a late Saturday afternoon drink then I would have probably added two or three more stars depending on the level of repartee.

But as it was almost empty and the only denizens were fat pasty white tourists from the heartland in shorts, sneakers and t-shirts sitting at the bar drinking beers and the decor had all of the charm of a late 90's upscale Boca tract home kitchen we left to look for a more suitable place to drink the afternoon away.

I was back for work a week ago, and went to Taboo for dinner the night I got in. I was dining alone, so I sat at the bar. The bartenders were friendly but not intrusive, and service was quick. I ordered the tuna steak burger.  It's serve on a toasted English muffin with wasabi mayonnaise and wakame.  It was AMAZING.  One of the best things I have eaten in a while, and I was just expecting an average sandwich for a late evening bar meal.  I was in and out relatively quickly, even though I took my time eating. Same funny people-watching, but a very tasty meal.

Taboo is Palm Beach at its best. With a prime Worth Avenue address, you can't ask for a better spot. It's like walking into a Tommy Bahama store, with a fabulous menu.

Our server was a wonderful woman, transplanted from Massachusetts. She quickly noticed the birthday card I gave my boyfriend at the table, and was quick to wish him a Happy Birthday and get to know us a little.

I love Taboo for its unpretentiousness. The wines are very reasonable. The food even more so. The smoked salmon appetizer was delicious, and our entrees were really great. Veal Milanaise, and the "small plate" of scallops. All expertly prepared.

Desserts tend to be overly elaborate, but Taboo does one simple thing really well - hot fudge sundae. That's all I have to say about that!

    Great, great restaurant.

I am giving it 5 stars because the pizza topped with Brie, pears, grapes, candied pecans and red onion was out of this world.  The atmosphere was nice and cozy and the 1/2 priced Veuve for happy hour was very welcomed.

The bartender was nice too, he was funny and very accommodating.

I will definitely go back to Taboo on my next FL visit.

3-1/2 stars. This was part of my Real (Senior) Housewives of Palm Beach excursion when my mom and two of her friends and I went shopping along Worth Ave and then lunched at Taboo. Great iced tea (a black currant unsweetened flavor). And the salad that can't be beat is the mixed field greens  with chicken and pears, tossed with crumbled gorgonzola cheese in an orange-walnut vinaigrette. We also enjoyed the salmon BLT. I only wish the salmon was warm instead of cold, but the dill mayo still made it tasty. The rest of the afternoon was spent drooling over designer clothes, shoes and jewelry. Alas, the only thing I could afford: lunch.

OK, the clientele can be a bit on the older side. But this place oozes old Palm Beach money. The food was adequate, but you don't go there for the food. You go there to watch wealthy 40 to 60 year old people hit on each other. It's like a day at the aquarium. Ha, ha!

I came here based on a recommendation from a friend. Stopped in for lunch and left satisfied. We got a table near the fireplace since it was a cold cold day and we were chilled from walking around Worth. I ordered a lunch special of lentil soup and sandwich with pesto mayo. I liked it very much. My friend ordered a Seared Tuna Salad. It was huge. Share it with someone. Such a shame to leave so much tuna behind. Palm Beach I'm really starting to like you.
