After our visit to the museum, we were hunting for a place to have some drinks and food. And this was so nearby.

The restaurant was closed but the lounge area was open and  the bartender did tell us that they do serve food. Thanks to him, we were starving.

We got a couple of cocktails along with a bread - cheese plate, spicy chicken wings and ribs. Everything tasted very good. I should mention that the chicken wings were some of the best I have ever had, the meat just came off the bone in a flash, so tender and tasty. Yummy.

A tale of two restaurants: the chefs and the wait staff.

I'll start with the good news: the restaurant is as gorgeous and relevant as ever, giving folks an elegant start to a night at the Symphony. We need this restaurant to be successful and vibrant for that reason - as a gateway to one of Atlanta's most important cultural experiences.

On the way in, we were greeted graciously by the chef staff - which is, to be sure, one of Table 1280's most impressive, signature elements. It's not very often you get to pass by a fully open, exhibition kitchen where the chef staff actually wants to engage you.

Unfortunately, once we were seated our meal went downhill quickly. (This portion of the review is brought to you by: Excedrin... because I had a stress headache from this point forward.) In all seriousness, it felt like the restaurant was being handled by an airport foodservice company (think: D Concourse @ Hartsfield), not serviced by a deeply trained wait staff.

Our server leaned over while helping another table and said to me, "Give me a minute and I'll get with you." Really? That felt more like a pick-up line than a friendly check-in from a server.

The food was deeply uneven - and I was surprised at how limited the menu was. There were roughly 4-5 items as starters and entrees, respectively, and not a whole lot of choice. There were two bright spots: a beautifully seasoned standard salad, and the carmel apple cheesecake. Highly recommended.

But some of the main courses were downright dreadful. My chicken was spongy, bland and boring - with about 50% dark meat to it. I'd have added a bit more tang to this chicken dish, which has promise but was poorly executed. My mother's hanger steak was surprisingly tough to the chew although elegantly presented.

After being here a number of times in a year, I was very disappointed this time around. I'm always put off by how loud it gets in the main dining room, too, so it's recommended that you dine early so you can have a human conversation.

Despite the missteps above - and there were many of them - I'm optimistic that the restaurant will rebound and again reflect the glory and prestige of the location.

Came here for lunch before visiting the High Museum.

The space is uber-modern, sleek, shades of white and has a cool, hip vibe. I enjoy walking by the open kitchen enroute to the dining area. Anticipation!

The service is incredibly friendly, personable and our meal was perfectly paced.

The lunch menu (early summer) offered something for everyone (fish, chicken, beef, soup, salads (light and hearty versions). We left with clean plates and smiles - so every bite was enjoyed.

Highlights: Rock Shrimp Salad with avocado buttermilk dressing and the Three Martini Lunch - your choice of three items served in martini glasses - clever concept and SO delicious! Savored the chicken salad with white truffle oil, shaved fennel and citrus salad and summer berry panna cotta.

    Looking forward to return visits.

There's a new chef in the kitchen at Table 1280 and so far, so good. The menu has changed, so if you haven't dined here in a while, it's worth a trip back.

They still offer a three course, prix fixe menu - great for pre-theatre dining - but they've added new daily specials and Chef Bhavesh Patel is incorporating Indian spices into some of the main menu dishes.

One of the specials on the night I visited was a NY strip steak, served over a rutabaga puree. My two dining companions ordered it, and allowed me a taste. Quite delicious. Now that I'm on a strict gluten-free diet, I had to ask for recommendations from our server. Farrah outdid herself, going back to the kitchen to check various menu items so I'd be able to eat without anxiety. Choosing between the chicken, scallops, shrimp and grits, and duck was not easy. Based on Farrah's recommendation, I opted for the Poulet Rouge, a roasted chicken scented with cumin and served with local fingerling potatoes and asparagus. The skin was extra crispy and full of flavor, while the meat was tender and moist. We washed it all down with a stellar zinfandel from the $49/bottle list. (They have four price points for wines by the bottle - whites and reds - at $29, $39, $49, and $59.)

I still wish Table 1280 would warm up the interior decor, but the multi-colored fluorescent light fixture is actually a work of art, so I don't think it's going away any time soon.

If you're pressed for time, and the prix fixe won't do, you can always sit at the bar and enjoy an excellently mixed cocktail and nosh on upscale bar food. The lounge has its own menu, mostly small plates and appetizers. I look forward to exploring more of Chef Patel's creations on my next visit.

Spent the day at the High Museum and just wanted a snack.  Sorbet was a bit pricey at $8 a pop, but I expected inflated prices considering the location.  Service a bit slow.  Including us, there were only 3 tables and the server was no where to be found.  It over 20 minutes to get our sorbets.  Were they making it fresh back there?

Came here for a break around 4ish while friends and I were visiting the High Museum.

We ordered coffee, tea, and dessert. We got a crepe and another dessert. Both were just whatevers. They weren't warm enough when they came to the table and they were overly sweet, even with our coffees. The service is just okay (nothing to rave about) and I couldn't help but feel like we were being snubbed since we were only ordering coffee & dessert.

BUT they did have mighty leaf tea, which is a huge plus!

This place is a bit too "cold" for my taste. Maybe I'll have a better experience next time!

For those who love delicious food in a minimalist, modern ambiance, Table 1280 is a must. Personally, I found the space a bit "cold" with sharp, angled furnishings, white walls, fluorescent lighting (done artistically -- not what you imagine when you hear fluorescent), and an entire wall of glass overlooking a courtyard between the restaurant and the museum across the way.

I came here with Emily R. who's friends with the chef and who spoke highly of his culinary expertise. We had their special three-course fixed price menu which consists of an appetizer, a main, and a dessert.

To start, I had the quintessential Winter comfort food -- African squash soup with lump crab and pumpkin seed brittle. Perfectly smooth, slightly sweet, and a fantastic start to the meal.

For my main, I had their coffee braised short ribs atop a squash and potato gratin. The short ribs were super tender, packed with flavor and a nice portion size -- not too small, not too big. The gratin was equally delicious.

Finally, for dessert the chef sent out a plate of assorted items including an amazing Crepe Souzanne, an apple crumb tart, and house made Kit-Kat bar with raspberry sorbet. Wow! Trust me, they were as delicious as they sound.

All in all...yum! Sadly the restaurant wasn't that busy, albeit we were there on a mid-week evening. With excellent and attentive service, Table 1280 is a great spot to try for in-towners looking for something different -- if you can handle the fluorescent lighting.

Dined here with a few girlfriends and Oh my goodness!  The food was awesome, and so was the service.  Our servers were well attentive and knew the menu pretty well.  I did have to share the 3 meat burger with one of my friends, they are huge.  They even separated it evenly for us on two separate plates.  Will definitely dine here again!

I like this place. Chance are you're here because you've been at the High Museum. That happened to me. I always enjoy going to restaurants associated with museums because they tend to be an extension of the museum's persona. The food was good. Service was great. My favorite part about this place is the ambiance. Modern, chic, minimal, distant, it's not unlike how the High Museum presents itself. And I like that. A particular plus is If you get a table with the view of the museum grounds. I don't know if I'd come here if I wasn't stopping by the High. But every time I stop by the High, I come to Table 1280.

Just what you'd expect from a world class museum like the High. The food is sophisticated and artfully presented, and the ambiance is just gorgeous - clean, modern, and bright white.

This is a great place for a business lunch or catered event. Service is nothing spectacular, but the menu is truly gourmet and makes for a memorable lunch.

My only advice is to avoid the chopped salad, which was quite boring.

    Wonderful!

I practically licked my plate clean- the butternut squash risotto I ordered was so delicious and perfect for the chilly night.  The roasted pear w/ almond tres leche & toffee bits dessert was just as lickably yummy.

The restaurant is like a gallery in the High Museum- clean and white, with a lighted stripe of multicolor lights across the wall, a modern sculpture on the table that turned out to be the salt & pepper shakers(!).  The server checks to see if you're seeing a show at the Woodruff Center and is very attentive throughout the meal.  Located across the courtyard from the High Museum and right next to the entrance to the Woodruff Center, the restaurant is very convenient for a pre-show dinner.  There's also a cool looking lounge area w/ a bar that looks like it would have been a good place to stop in if a full meal wasn't on the agenda.

I've only been to the lounge here as a stop for a post-High exhibit wind-down drink, and for this, it works quite nicely.  The large windows flood the space with ample natural light, and the sparse, minimalist white theme complements this nicely and lends the lounge an ethereal quality.

I particularly liked the extension of the bar near the lounge entrance that serves as a raised table around which an entire party can sit on three sides.  Sometimes I like the idea of sitting at a high-top, since it's not something I can do at home, but when you've got a group of more than two or three, sitting at a bar can be impractical, at least if you all get along and would like to participate in some sort of group discussion.

The drinks are pricey, but I wouldn't really expect anything less from this upscale-looking lounge and eatery.  At the very least, you can expect a spectacular presentation: four out of our group of six ordered off of 1280's custom cocktail menu and the drinks were so lovely that we were moved to photograph them.

I had the "Expresso" Martini ($12), which is a Grey Goose vodka martini prepared with chocolate liqueur and "expresso," which is apparently an accepted way of saying "espresso" even though it sounds to me like someone who's trying to say "espresso" but doesn't quite grasp it.  But anyway.  The drink was good, and presented with a trio of coffee beans as an attractive garnish.  My compatriots seemed pleased with their cocktails as well.

As I mentioned, I don't have experience with 1280 as an eatery, but a trusted family member assures me that it's lovely in this regard.  I'll have to reserve judgment until next I return here and give 1280 an opportunity to earn additional stars by impressing me further, but thus far I was pleased with my brief experience at 1280.

I've been here a couple of times and have been less impressed each time.  The last time I went the whole menu was seafood (I'm allergic) except for the huge piece of pork.  I'm not a big pork person either!  The waiter was odd--he kept asking "so the food is terrible?" in a way I think he meant was supposed to be kidding but it didnt sound like it.  Weird thing to be coming out of your waiters mouth.  Dessert was good but I like all sweets so that is not unique.

The location of this restaurant should help it out so much!  Being right near the High it would be great if this place was really good.  Its just not though.  To be paying the prices of a nice meal its really not worth.  I'd recommend going some where else.

We went on a symphony-less night.  Therefore, it was empty and perfect.  The decor is certainly aiming for the minimal aesthetic, and while I think it mostly succeeds in its interior, the outside seating could use some attention.  Otherwise, we were completely enchanted with our experience.

Strung lanterns hung from the low slung trees.  Small flickering candles sat at each silver table.  Given that we were the only diners, we had the server's undivided attention.

We had the sea scallops with blackberries, baby mache and lemon.  They were wonderful.  The contrast and combination of flavors was exquisite.  We also tried the black mission figs with ricotta and truffle honey.  It was simultaneously rich and light, perfect for a balmy evening.
But, by far, the most phenomenal thing we tried was the black grouper, with haricot verts, shitake mushrooms, and a soy-sherry creme sauce.
It's probably the best grouper I've ever had in my life.

Our stupendous dinner was topped off with a pear dessert that involved chocolate soup and praline ice cream.   I don't need to tell you how that went.

Table 1280 is a gem.  I only gave it 4 stars because I like to revisit places before falling in love with them. I'm not a tramp.

Last night was the dream of a sanguine (as I am): we went to THREE, count 'em, THREE different places in one night.
    I really dig that.
So, the first one we went to was here - miracles of miracles, we actually got to the High EARLY (not, unfortunately, my hallmark) for the flick we had in mind to see.  My dear fainting rose confessed a need for nourishment and Table was right there.
Ensconcing her at the bar, I dashed off to buy the movie tickets.
Upon my return, what did I find?
A lovely glass of something Spanish and red and three delightful tapas.  My wife, bubbling with delight, shared with me that ALL of the 5 tapas listed were gluten free.  We had:
    1) The marcona almonds
    2) Serrano ham wrapped dates stuffed with a marcona almond and blue cheese
    3) Olives
    Wow.
    All good.

After just exiting the High Museum for the China exhibit, my family and i wanted to go to a close location for a small meal. The place we first come across is of course 1280. the look of the place is very very fancy and waiters are all dressed nicely. the appearance of the place was the first thing we noticed.

while artsy, the bubble mirrors on the walls come off as a little off, almost like store camera bubbles staring at you. Or machine gun fox holes...

The menu is quite small and everything is in the double digits. we asked for a kid menu but the waiter said its strictly 12 and under, maybe to avoid cheapskates. We might have gone to the wrong place then as we weren't really that hungry. they served us with bread and butter but only enough for one each. I ordered the 1280 burger which came out nicely prepared. The fries it came with were overly hot, and not that appetizing. The waiter did not really seem interested and slightly rushed with us as he never refilled the water.

While this might seem like upscale dining, its really just an overpriced restaurant with a goofy decor

While waiting for my time slot to go in and see the terracotta soldiers, I decided to have a few drinks here. The décor was your typical contemporary cliche but being right outside an art museum, it suited it well. The few members of the staff that I encountered that night were pretentious and really didn't seem to care if you were there or not.

    Service: D
    Food/Drinks: B
    Atmosphere: A-
    Price: C

It's overpriced and for the mediocre service I experienced... it'd be well worth walking a few more blocks to somewhere else to dine, drink or relax after a nice visit to the museum.

One word about Table. Swanky!!! It' super hip retro class-a style is very upscale and you can tell that the minute you walk in. The decor is very clean and neat with everything white and a splash of color here and there. Although I didn't eat here but I did mingle around the restaurant and talk shop with the bartender. They serve a regular business hours lunch and dinner with a Sunday brunch from 11 to 4. The bar opens at 11am Tuesday through Sunday. Table is closed on Mondays. Drinks, and I would imagine food too, are pretty steep if you ask me. We paid over $18 for a martini and one import beer. WTF?!?!?!? Dinner could break the bank.

I attended the DIESEL fragrance launch party at the High and stopped at Table to get a cocktail before the party opened. It's definitely got a lot of class as you can tell by the extensive wine and champagne display as you walk in.
Other then that, this is a swanky joint to hit if you are going to an event any where in the art center.

I could see myself having drinks and perhaps apps. here again.

Now this is fine dining in the city!  My boss decided to have our annual Christmas party/dinner here, and I was very happy he did.

The interior is very modern, yet polished and reserved.  Nothing screams "fancy-stuck up restaurant".  The wait staff are very friendly, and attentive without being too obtrusive.  I definitely appreciated my waiter re-filling my wine glass with wine without asking!

The Braised Beef Short Ribs is too good beyond words.

I can't wait to go back!

p.s. Table 1280 validates your parking if you park in the garage at the Woodruff Arts Center.

I got a little High today. No, no, not cultured  . . . who needs that when you can stop off on your way at the delightful Table 1280? That's where to go for the kind of aesthetic experience you'll really enjoy, if you're a foodie like me.

My first visit was three years ago, not long after their opening, but today as I walked down Peachtree in the heat I thought "Aha! Table 1280! A perfectly chic spot for my much-needed lunchtime escape!" (folding and stuffing 1500 letters into envelopes had gotten a tad tedious and I craved a little me-time, you see). I found it!

William works the bar during the day, and he's knowledgeable, friendly, and, ok, I'll say it - not hard on the eyes. That admission aside, everything about my second visit to 1280 was as great as my first.

The menus for lunch and dinner are both short and sweet. I went with the first thing that caught my eye, the rigatoni with summer squash and ricotta dolce - though when I return, which I will, I am going to try William's suggestions of either the crabcake or their version of a "BLT," which is bacon, tomato, fontina, and a garlic aioli on brioche - and I was a happy, happy girl. Yellow squash and zucchini, perfectly cooked, just the right amount of noodles, and the perfect amount of ricotta as the "sauce." Flavored with an herb mixture and a little olive oil (I of course added salt and a dash of pepper, as I am prone to do), the dish was exactly what I wanted. Accompanied by a lovely French rose, it was simply the perfect lunch.

The dining room is lovely as well, as open and airy and contemporary as the bar area - but there's just something more inviting about eating at the actual bar or lounging on one of the cool Brady Bunch-chic chairs. If you work or live within walking distance, go by for a meal or a drink. Tell William I sent you.

Yummy, yummy, yummy!  After finding a "creative" way to make my mother believe that she did not want to eat at Fogo de Cho, we needed to come up with a new place for Mother's Day.  I happened upon this place through http://opentable.com.  They had a reservation available at the time we needed and voila, the rest is history.

The buffet was actually one of the best ones I have been to in Atlanta.  Other than the Ritz Sunday buffet, this is the best one.  There were several different meats at the carving station and it was not your normal roast with juice.  The beef tenderloin was perfect.  The right temp and flavor.  To be honest, one of the highlights was the fresh fruit that included perfectly sweet raspberries, blackberries, strawberries, pineapple and some other stuff.  It was obvious that it was done with the freshest fruit.  The other item was chicken with wilted spinach and mushrooms.

The macaroon dessert was out of this world.  The cupcakes were a little on the dry side.

The juice was freshly squeezed and the coffee was great.  My only slight negative comment was the service.  Buffets are hard to evaluate but our server was not entirely attentive.  He did not do a good job of creating an "experience" for the mother's day event.

Excellent gourmet food and attentive service. We ate before attending a play at the Woodruff Center - Table 1280 is very conveniently located in the complex, so one can park early before attending an event here. The salmon was moist with a flakey coating, and the arugula salad with parmesan-reggiano was perfect. Good wine list. The room was all in white with huge mirror "bubbles" on the wall and what appeared to be water intakes and jets on the other wall near the ceiling.  Sort of simulates dining at the bottom of a jacuzzi.

    Pricey but worth it.

The first time I went to Table 1280 was on, what must have been the sixth date with my, now, Husband , back in April of 2006. We were attending Jazz at the High and he made dinner reservations. We now attend Jazz pretty much every month and frequently eat dinner at Table 1280.

There are many things I like, the design is very cool (literally the place is pretty cold too) and feels like a special event kind of place. I like being able to order a quartino of wine to split rather than a whole glass since I'm a lightweight and between the wine at dinner and the martini at the High, I'm toast.

The bread here is delicious. It's not warm and crusty or any of the things that normally make me like bread, it's just good. They must grind some crack into the flower because it is delcious. The rest of the food is good too but, truth be told, I'm still missing some items they served a couple of years ago but don't offer any longer because of a change in chefs. Last Friday my husband had the duck and loved it, not a morsel left on his plate. I had the mozzarella appetizer, tasty but I've had better, and the grilled asparagus, very yummy. Dessert is always good here and usually pretty inventive. It's a great place to eat if you're going to The High or anywhere in the Woodruff Arts center.

We visited Table 1280 for the first time this weekend.  The food was actually truly outstanding.  Though the menu had few vegetarian options beyond a salad or two, the chef put together a beautiful and interesting vegetable plate, with perfectly-crisp haricots vert, three kinds of delicious mushrooms, and sauteed spinach topped with little fried bits of dough.

I enjoyed the little touches that made the place belong in the Arts Center, like the modern, well-designed silver, glass, and tableware, and the art installations that surround the dining areas.  It was glaringly bright, though, giving the restaurant an unwelcome institutional feel.  Also, we were the youngest diners by probably about 20 years, and at eight when it was time for the symphony to start, we found ourselves suddenly in a giant empty room with only one other table.

Our food was a long time coming, evidently because our server mis-entered our order, but he more than made up for it, bringing us soup and wine before the meal, and insisting we take dessert to go when we were too full to eat it there - all on the house.  The dessert, a banana tart I never would have chosen on my own, was amazing, even eaten room-temperature and without the ice cream it would have been topped with in the restaurant.  Overall, we had a great experience, and the food will bring us back again soon.

We dined here for Sunday brunch before going to the museum.  The ambiance is spectacular in this place.  There is a lot of white and plenty of natural light, which makes you feel very bright and upbeat. It is not overly noisy, which I highly appreciate.  There are too many restaurants that are so loud you can't hear the person next to you.
We came as a party of eight.   We are very close to each other, thus we ordered different platters and shared. All the food was outstanding.  I had the African Squash soup with I think lumps of crab meat, a nice surprise since it was not mentioned on the menu.  So for those who are allergic, you should be aware, and I had the French toast.  The toast was a little sweet for my taste but good. The trout I also enjoyed, it is served with skin on and crispy.  I loved the crispiness.  Though, my two all time favorites were the crab benedict and the hash.  Also, the mimosas were very nice.

To top it all off the service was spectacular.  Our server was exact, on time, described everything with enthusiasm and accuracy and was a pleasure to interact with.   His presence was always felt but not noticed. I consider that the best form of service.

I do have to admit that my exuberance for this restaurant is for:
    A. the ambiance
    B. the service (thought I think it was specifically this one server that did it for us.)

The food is really good here but there are several restaurant in Atl with similarly equal quality of food.  The atmosphere is what really did it in for me, that really is hard to find in Atlanta.

I have nothing nice to say about this place.  We went on the evening of 24 Hours of Dali.  It was empty.  The bar and restaurant were filthy.  We had to bus our own table in the bar delivering piles of dirty dishes to the bar where they just sat.  Service was non-existent.  When we were sat in the empty dining room we had to wait, and wait, and wait to be approached by a waiter.  We ordered a bottle of wine and then waited, and waited, and waited to find out that they didn't have the particular bottle we ordered...Then the evening started to go down hill.  I will never, ever, under any circumstances set foot in this filthy pit of a restaurant...

Cute place, good food. We visited for lunch after looking at some art. The inside was very comfortable and attractive. It was modern yet fun.  It felt upscale but not snobby.  The prices were very typical for museum fare - all around $15 per entree for lunch.

My table ordered the rigatoni veal bolognese, 1280 cheeseburger, and chicken salad sandwich. The rigatoni was my favorite, very flavorful. The burger had a good smoky char on the bun and meat. Big steak fries were my favorite part of this meal.  Chicken salad had nice big chunks but no grapes which are a must for me.

Service was pretty good. He was kind and attentive.  The server didn't add on the mandatory gratuity even though we were five people. Since I am a member of the museum, I also got 20%off (score!)

Service was great. The bread and butter was great (maybe because I was hungry). Our entrees were absolutely horrible. You pay $30 for an entree, you'd expect it to be palatable. I couldn't even finish my food. Thank goodness we had bread.

My wife and I went to the Dali exhibit at the High Art Museum and decided to finish off a wonderful outing with lunch so we stopped at Table 1280 for lunch. As we walked in the restaurant we were impressed with the crisp clean...almost sterile feeling that is effectively broken up with a colorful light arrangement that runs the length of the back wall. As we were seated the restaurant was about half full but by the time we were served our entrées it was quite full. So on to the food...
We started out with an order of the Roasted African Squash Soup, and an order of the Wellfleet Oyster Gratin. The Oyster Gratin was very good, the bacon was just enough to complement the flavor and not overwhelm it. However, as for the star anise...there wasn't much flavor of that at all. The Roasted African Squash Soup was wonderful! The soup was very flavorful and the Pumpkin Seed Brittle was a fantastic complement to the soup.
For our entrées my wife ordered the White Truffle Chicken Salad Sandwich and I ordered the Smoked Turkey Sandwich. My wife really enjoyed the White Truffle Chicken Salad Sandwich; she commented on the fact that the chicken salad did not have an overwhelming flavor of celery like most chicken salads do. My Smoked Turkey Sandwich was very good as well. The bacon and avocado flavors worked well with smoked turkey. The severing portions were just right for a lunch menu and we were very pleased with the prices as well. We would certainly go back to Table 1280.

To be honest, for the price, the food was lacking.  I was dissapointed in our service too.  Yes, nice atmosphere, location, etc.   I was trying to give the place a chance.  I actually enjoyed the separated bar better than the dining.  I wish I could speak "higher" about the place. :)

Stopped here before a show at the Alliance Theatre.  Had some crispy homemade tater tots, fried rock shrimp with aioli and some beers at the bar.  Great service and a really cool interior.  Looks like there is a nice outdoor sitting area in the warmer months.  Food was above average (tots were actually a little frozen in the middle).  We would go back for dinner based on our experience.

This place is alittle cold and kind of cafeteria to me.. the wine selection was ok.. I like that it is located across from the HIgh Museum, so you can technically have dinner and go to walk the gallery. I don't know how the food is, was just here for drinks..

I was worried that a change of chef and menu would make this place less exciting but that is not the case at all.  It's wonderful to have a restaurant right next to the Woodruff Performing Arts Center.  The staff is mindful of show times and works hard to allow you a leisurely meal and still get you out the door and down the corridor in time for the curtain.  We recently had brunch there for the first time ever not only was it very good but it was a good value for the money... not something I usually say about ITP brunches.

After attending the yelp party here last month, my wife and I decided we would like to have dinner here.  We went on a Saturday night.  We parked in the garage, and the attendant there wanted $12 to park even though we were only going to eat.  We ended up getting a ticket from him, and Table 1280 validated for us.  There was only two other tables when we arrived, and when we left we were the only ones there.  The service was very friendly and fairly knowledgeable.  I ordered the Magret Duck and the wife had the Pepperdelle Pasta.  The duck was fantastic.  The pasta was handmade and came with veal bolognese.  My wife couldn't eat it, she didn't like it at all.  I finished it for her, although I didn't really care for it either.  We finished the meal with chocolate mousse, which is accompanied by banana ice cream and cherries, and coffee.  My wife says it's the best dessert she's ever had, and she loved the coffee as well.  I liked them, too, but wasn't quite as impressed as she was.

So here's the summary.  Not a lot of options on the menu, the plates are small and expensive.  The food varies, I recommend the duck and do not recommend the pasta.  The rest of the menu looked interesting and is probably very good.  The service varies, some waiters better than others, but all very friendly.  The place is nice.  Very clean.  It's hip and modern.  Make sure you get a ticket in the garage and remember to validate unless you want to pay $12 for parking to eat dinner.  It's in the art center building, so if you're there for whatever event and you're dressed nice, this is a good option for a meal, whether it be lunch or dinner.  There is also a full bar, or mostly full, it's not very big.  If the pasta dish was better, this place gets 4 stars.  As it is, I give it 3.5 stars.

I am a fan of modern design and architecture, so this restaurant scores very high marks off the bat. Now the dishes are very simple and lush. They are very artistically presented and the view of the High creates the perfect illusion. I had the 'Cobia', which is a very tasty fish. The wine selection is very diverse....lets not forget the starter.....fresh salmon and I mean fresh......this is what Atlanta needs, more modern design.....and a fresh approach to dinning........period

Excellent food, I can't stress that enough.  The decor is a little sterile, seems to be trying to hard to be trendy.  The wait staff is helpful and friendly.  The only downside for me is the price, it's very expensive.  However the quality of the food will keep me coming back on occasion.

I had brunch there last Sunday before going to the High.  I have had brunch there a few times over the last few years.  The skirt steak was wonderful, cooked exactly as I asked, with pickled onions and arugula.  My son had a waffle with berries and cream.  He gave me a bite, and it was wonderful also.

A few months ago I had a wonderful crab cake with a nice crunchy cole slaw.  The servers and staff are always friendly.

We always take Marta to the High and eat before going into the museum.  Table 1280 always keeps our leftovers in their cooler, and lets us pick up our leftovers after we leave the museum.

What a great way to top off a trip to the Louve Atlanta. The food selection is enticing and we were happy to find less southern fried and more healthful (AND flavorful) selections. The Tapas is not served in the restaraunt, but the bar only.  The service was spot on. Will return for special occasions.
