I guess if this was on a strip with a plethora of pizza options, it'd be more like a 2-star joint but given the sheer lack of pizza spots around this frat-land of Amsterdam (aw yeah), it's a fairly solid 3-star joint.
First, it's the normal $2.25 price tag for a regular cheese slice.
Second, it comes out nice and piping hot.
Third, it's not too greasy and the sauce actually tastes like something.
Nothing special, but you're in the wrong neighborhood if you were expecting something different. -

There was more grease than cheese on my pizza. The crust was whatever, the cheese not the best.

Their cheese slice makes for a passable pre-imbibing stomach coating device. Slight hints of oregano every now and then please the palate.
Otherwise...
Meh. I've experienced better. -

I have no beef with this place, but this was honestly the worst slice I've had in NYC. Flavorless cheese, watery sauce & soggy crust.

I am a huge pizza fan (especially when drunk at 2am). Turns out, so is just about every patron of the rowdy bars on Amsterdam Ave., who make up the clientele.
Sadly, this joint just doesn't cut it. The sauce is unremarkable, making the regular slices on the lame side of average. There isn't much seating (3 tables? 4?), so be prepared to eat on the go.
Their only saving grace is their white pizza, which is a delicious combo of mozzarella and ricotta cheese. If you want a good slice of NYC pizza that really represents, don't bother with T&R. -

I've ordered for delivery a few times now, have always been pleased.
Regular cheese pizza like the kind when you were a kid. Nothing fancy. Just good. Recommended in NYMag (http://nymag.com/guide...). -

I think this place is pretty good. Not the best pizza I have ever had, but the crust is crispy and substantial without being thick, and the toppings are plentiful. I'd really love some fresh toppings though- canned mushrooms? Ick.

Greasy, salty, great crust, cheesy cheap goodness. right across from the bars and lounges in that area, so it's the best meal of your life after you've been drinking all night!

We stopped in here to have a quick bite after our visit to the American Museum of Natural History.
I have to say that the pizza was pleasantly wonderful.
For me great pizza is about the sauce. I prefer my pizza sauce on the sweet side, as opposed to the acidic/ tart side, and this place has that.
The crust is decent , not like paper, and crisp. You could tell that it was freshly made too and was not laying around all day.
My husband had the cicilian with pepperoni and olives ( see my pics ), he commented that they were the biggest cicilian slices he ever ordered, made him very happy.
Ever since my favorite pizza shop , Supreme pizza on E86 and Lex, closed it's doors , I have not tasted a pizza that I love. Not even from famous Ray's ( which is ok) .
Now I have!
The place is small though , but the service was fast, the pizza was great, what more can one ask for from a pizza shop? -

Ay, no me gusta! Now that I've been a NYer for a few months, I'm a spoiled pizza brat. Pizza like this would be considered wonderful in cities like Orlando, but for New York, it just won't cut it. You have New Pizza Town, Caesar's Palace, and Famous Original Ray's not far from this place and all at the same price, so why would you go to the runt of the litter? The slice they serve is the standard Uptown $2.50, but it's noticeably smaller and usually has been sitting around in the window for a LONG time.
Every time I've come in here for a slice, the pizzas on the window look ancient, like as if they've been sitting there since New York was a Dutch colony or something. The slice is unusually small, over-cooked, and there is no distinguishable sauce taste whatsoever. No thanks! If you're one of those annoying post-frat people drinking on Amsterdam and looking for a late night slice, then I recommend using the small traces of brain cells you have remaining to find your way over to Caesar's Palace on 84th and Amsterdam instead of this place.
The only positive aspects about this place are that they stay open late at night and the employees are cool people. -

Unassuming pizza joint that makes an unappetizing slice. Can't taste the tomato sauce and needs more spices . Not awful I guess but there's no reason to eat this slice when you can walk to New Town (http://www.yelp.com/bi...) or Caesar's (http://www.yelp.com/bi...).
Two things I like about this place:
1) They have these little pepperoni rolls for $.25. Pretty tasty. Reminds me of the pepperoni bread my friend's mom made when we were growing up. I'd get 4 of these before getting a slice.
2) It's the only restaurant I can think of with better branding when you walk out than when you walk in. They're on one of those blocks where I think the building owner forces generic storefronts and all you really see from the outside is a neon Pizza sign. When you look up at the menu above the counter, no sign of the name. But when you turn around to leave, BAM! it's T&R Pizza.Listed in: Scott R's NY Pizza by the…

A good neighborhood slice. The mini bite size pepperoni roll for 25 cents are a nice treat you don't see at any pizzeria anymore.
Cheers!

Made the mistake of ordering a Meatball Parm. Hero, but the length of time it took them to prepare it made me wish that I had just ordered a slice. The sandwich was NOT worth the wait...the roll was overcooked and barely edible. I give 2 stars because the sandwich didn't have negative side affects...it filled my belly and served its purpose well.

This is the place.
Tell them you like it crisp,
and they will put your slice back in the oven
for a minute or two.
After a slice, I go into a trance,
with semi-paralysis, for 15 minutes.
There is no point in arguing about it.
This is Oblivion Pizza.
The pepperoni rolls are delicious. 25 cents.
They have A&W root beer. -

This place is a classic NYC "hole in the wall", but have some of the best pizza around. Nice crisp thin crust, but not paper thin. Good sauce.

I was eating my pizza when I saw a rat run under my feet. I jumped up and quickly asked for a refund. I was first denied a refund (a whopping $7.50). After some more complaining, I was finally given a refund and told to "never come back". STAY AWAY!!!! RAT INFESTATION!!!!!!
