Neighborhood: SoutheastSwing Thai is a great name for this restaurant because the flavors swing back and forth between edible and barf burgers. On the edible side, they make a decent som tum (green papaya salad) and a very okay (verging on lackluster) drunken noodle. On the barf burgers side is their jungle curry. This dish is bad news - extremely runny broth and very little flavor other than heat. Their options are minimal and some of their flavors are not even inspired by the Thai cuisine. But at least they deliver...
THE MOST WHITE-WASHED THAI FOOD IN DENVER.
I wanted some Erawan on Sunday night but alas only Swing was open so I gave it a try. I was getting over the flu so I wanted something hearty and gravitated towards the curries. Normally I'm more of a stir-fry kinda guy so I nearly walked out after glancing at Swing Thai's lackluster selection of stir-fried entrees. I'm sorry, "Sweet and Sour" has absolutely no place on the menu at a restaurant calling itself Thai.
I ended up getting the Massaman curry which was accompanied by starchy and non-fragrant rice which I assume was not Jasmine rice. Thai food SHOULD BE accompanied by light, fluffy, fragrant Jasmine rice. The curry was edible but the chicken was not particularly tender and the Massaman tasted more like peanut sauce than what I was expecting.
Next time Erawan is closed I think I'll keep on driving.
Full disclosure, I studied abroad in Thailand.

Ended up here with some co-workers after trying to go to Tommy's Thai first (it was closed for the holidays!). Feeling a bit dejected, we headed here instead. It smelled wonderful from the moment I walked in. I got my usual thai standard: Chicken Pad Thai, "thai hot". I can usually decide based on how good this dish is how the rest of the food will be. If the pad thai is bad, I usually do not come back.
Well, the pad thai was delicious. It was a bit on the sweet side, but still yummy regardless. The thai hot was almost too hot for me though, my nose was running like crazy and I kept taking gulps of water between bites which probably made things worse. I will come back, but now know just to stick to the regular "hot" level. Not as good as Tommy Thai's though, and if I am already in the area I will probably go there instead, but this place is pretty good also.
Edit to add: I went back a second time, and the food was not nearly as great this time around. They skimped on the servings and I felt cheated for what I paid for. I'll probably never come back after this visit.
The service here is very courteous and truly gracious, unfortunately the food is just average. My green curry tofu was a little sweet - too sweet. My date ordered the jungle curry with beef, and it was hot, but not in a good way. I like to take different sauces and smother my rice, and neither of these sauces made my rice(which was gooey) any better.
If the service hadn't been so great I would never have reason to come back here - I probably won't anyway, but I will reiterate that the service made this place special.

I never trust a place that doesn't have pork on the menu.
This place is alright but definitely nothing to write home about. It used to be cool when you could just order your food (with pork) and then get a table. Now you sit, have a waitress and place an order. The prices are a bit higher and the selections have changed some.
if you want good thai, go to Tommy's on Colfax. If you want somewhat tasty, fast foody thai for more money then come here. I suppose this place serves a purpose but I am not sure what it is.

This place used to be cool before they changed the format from Fast Casual to Dine in and raised the prices. Otherwise mediocre Thai food.

Go around the corner and see Art at the Erawan Cafe. The food is a lot better there and you can get a good table.
I love the location of this little Thai food restaurant. It seems to be a refurbished garage of some sort, as the northern wall has garage door-esque windows. Pretty small, but the food really packs a punch. Great for both a quick bite and for longer dining.
Good food, good service, cool atmosphere.
This place is the place to go for Pad Thai!

Great noodles. Actually underrated around the city, they really do good thai noodle dishes.
