I love this park. I was never a huge fan of living in Kennesaw by Swift Cantrell changed that for a few years.

This park is always swarming with children playing on the playground, families having picnics, and folks getting in some good ole fashioned exercise.

My favorite part about Swift Cantrell is the the dog park. I've made some great friends at this dog park and found myself coming so frequently that I knew several of the other regulars. The dog park could really use some more benches and potentially more shade for the summer (there are only one or two trees) but overall its a big well kept space for big and little pups.

This park also has a "skate park" I think its great that they have provided a place for kids/teens/adults to come and skate on some pretty awesome ramps. This benefits local businesses who are frustrated by the skateboarding presence and gives the boarders an awesome environment catered to their needs.

AMAH-ZING park and so close to my office and home. Very large green space, excellent walking trail and room for my dog to run around.

My favorite part are the cops that sleep in the back. Boy, do I feel safe!

I wish they had more trees planted. Granted, it is mostly grass but I wish they kept the land they cleared for the park a little more lush. Flowers, bushes, trees...something!

They have kids movies, races and even ice cream days during the Summer. It is a great green space in Kennesaw loved by the hundreds that come daily.

If you know me at all, you're likely shocked reading this review. Yeah, this park is waaaaaay OTP and I am not an OTP kind of girl.

But, since I'm working hard on my status as the most awesome girlfriend in the Universe, I've been here a few times as it's the perfect spot to lunch near the boyfriend's office. There are lovely picnic tables under even lovelier pavilions, strong and big enough to sit under during a tornado warning (erm, not that I would know). While I haven't experienced the dog parks or walking trails, I will say that I like what I've seen. It's awkward and new in that typical suburban way, but I think in 25 years or so it'll be all grown up and a really delightful place to spend the afternoon.

Don't let the other comments about parking deter you.  There is plenty of overflow parking at the elementary school next to the park with a trail leading right to the walking path.
The pavillion area is awesome for parties or just a nice place to hang out.  My mom teaches Special Ed at North Cobb and she takes her kids there on a regular basis and they love it.
I do agree that there could be more trees to attract other wildlife but overall, a great experience.

Very nice and clean park.  two very nice playground areas- toddler section and big kid section.  the two loop trails are nice- the kid can ride her bike around while i run behind her.  water fountains throughout the park.  nice dog park and skate ramp also.

This is a nice suburban park to walk at, to picnic in, to skate (board) at, has 2 fenced in dog parks, to have lunch in like I did today with my girlfriend.

If you live in Kennesaw and don't come here there is something wrong with you.

So why did I only give it 3 stars?  Not enough trees, not enough nature.  I would love for the city to plant some fruit and or nut trees in the open areas to attract squirrels and birds.

Perfect playgrounds (one for the 2-5 group, one for the 5+ age group), cleannish restrooms, and plenty of pace for flying kites, picnicking, or walking dogs.   I one to go down to the dog park and watch the dogs play.  They also have a skate park here too, but I'm just not interested.

Great park for families in kennesaw! I go there often as I live right down the street. My main purpose is to utilize the off leash dog area. There are 2 separate dog areas (under 30 lbs and 30+). Water fountains, benches, picnic tables and plenty of running room for any dog are the main attractions for dog owners. There are 2 tracks that surround Swift-Cantrell, as well as a skatepark.

    Why not 5 stars?

One word: PARKING!  This place gets pretty packed and lacks the appropriate amount of spaces. Dont be surprised if you find yourself circling the lot for 15-20 min on a nice sunny day.

This park also has an unleash area for big dogs and little dogs to run and play in. I've been bringing my two dogs there since April 2010. The area is clean, has running water for those hot days and plenty of poop bags to clean up after your pup. The dogs all seem to  get along just fine.
The dog park is open daily till sunset( dark)

Love it here! I live only a half mile away and feel lucky! Very large and I love the sidewalk for walking and the large lawn area for frisbee. Watching the dogs in the dog park area is also pretty entertaining. My only complaint is many times there is no parking available.

The Swift-Cantrell Park in Kennesaw has been evolving over the past year or so.  Previously a beautiful farm with rolling pastures, the 42 acre parcel is now one of the nicest parks in Cobb County (IMHO).  In their infinite wisdom, the park planners carefully saved many of the trees that made this property so beautiful.

On any given day, people of all ages enjoy the nicely paved and shady walking tracks, biking paths, pavilions and playgrounds.  There is always a group of kids having fun on the skate ramps, and dogs of every size accompany their owners for a stroll (its so nice to have a place that welcomes pets.)  All the water fountains have 2 spigots, a high one for humans, and a low one for creatures, and there are plenty of "pet stations" that provide little plastic bags to keep the park clean.

City-provided WiFi is available throughout the park, and there is plenty of greenspace to stretch out, enjoy a picnic, check your email, and play a game of Frisbee or fly kites.  There is plenty of lighting for those that like to visit in the evening, and it opens super early for those that are motivated to walk before the sun comes up.

This park has already made such an impact on this little community, and judging from the car tags, folks are traveling here from adjacent cities to enjoy it, too.

I am so lucky to live right across the street from this park!  for years it was just a big field, nice to look at as opposed to a subdivision or ball park, and I prayed that it would never change.

I've had my eye on it so often and dreamed of walking over the rolling hills -- and now I get to every day without crawling through barbed wire and trespassing.

I especially enjoy the nice folks that are walking, biking, skating and hanging out there.  I find that a couple times around the mile trail and I'm ready to start my day.  Just got back, in fact!

Early mornings are my favorite but there's not a bad time of day, except on weekends it can get crowded, but overflow parking at the school or the church (Cobb Vineyard) helps.  Don't you wish you lived that close!

I've been running a few days a week at this park for a couple years now. I remember when it used to be some type of farm and looks much better as a park in its place. I feel like this park should grow though. They don't have any flat playing fields, any basketball courts, and not enough parking spaces. There have been countless occasions where I see people waiting up to a half hour just to find a parking spot. I like the path the park is going though, especially with its addition of the skate ramp & dog park. Those were very smart ideas to add a little more fun for anyone in the Acworth/Kennesaw area. I just hope the park grows even more because I'd like to have a future living in Kennesaw & this park would be a big part of my daily life so I want to see more done to make it one of the best parks in Georgia.

Best park in northern suburbs. Great for the entire family - including the dogs. Has dog areas. We Also went to a friends kid birthday party held there. Great time. I am in real estate development and investment - and very glad to see this land be used for a park and nit just another subdivision. Well done Kennesaw.

Everything Rita said is correct. Don't forget to mention the half pipe and ramps and skating area. Any given sunny day, it hosts a variety of skaters, mostly frequenters, many of ruffle their boyish enthusiasm and polish their sarcasm against the grinding rails. I'm just saying, a lotta takling, not a lot of walking. (Kidding, kind of. ) No, no but mostly they're supportive of each other. This one little kid with long curly hair is fun to watch.

I love the walking trail, and even thought I'm 18 it is not yet passe to get on the monkey bars or climb the web tower.

I've been to this park a time or two and have always enjoyed it, from the walking trails to the skate ramp to the dog park. I've always seen everyone from young to old enjoying themselves on the hot summer days. It's hard to believe this use to be a farm at one time.  The one down side that I can mention is the water fountains for the dogs and humans should come with water that isn't as hot as the temperature outside.

This park is so awesome! I used to live about 1/4 mile from it, so I would walk there...now I live almost 10 miles away and I still try to go! My only suggestions would be that on a nice day you should get there early, otherwise the parking can be a little out of control. This is a wonderful place for families, people with dogs and singles.

Easily one of the best parks in the Atlanta area and beyond. Has something for everyone: walking/running, free-run dog area, skateboarding ramps, playground, open fields for team sports, picnic areas, etc. Very well kept and everyone is usually very friendly. Parking can be difficult to find on a nice day, especially on the weekends.
