This place is a ton of fun with all the various sculptures on the premises.  Some follow a theme or have a story behind them and others are just a bunch of fun.

Good for kids to look at, but not for them to play or touch. As such there is a warning for that.  Of course you know some dumbass parent will let loose their kid and they will injure themselves here.  You see these sculptures are made from various old metal parts and scrap...including saw blades and other sharp things.

Enjoy it from far and check out all the goofy things.  It's free / by donation and is super close to the Harmony Rd exit on I-25 so it's definitely worth dropping by even if you're just passing through.

This place is fun.  A great, inexpensive way to spend an hour or two.  This guy creates amazing welded sculptures out of old scrap metal.  It's much cooler than that description sounds...trust me.  Great place to bring kids.  Fantastic place for funny photo ops.

There is no admission charge, but if you enjoy it make sure to leave a donation so the sculptures can live on.

Fun, imaginative and great place to stop by if you are in the Fort Collins area. For the price of a small donation you get the opportunity to see some amazing "junk yard" art that provides great photo ops while you ooh and aww and guess what things used to be. A great place to take anyone that watches much of the Discovery Channel.

Great way to kill an hour or two on a nice sunny day.  Basically it's what I imagined Nick from "Family Ties" did with his free time.  AAAaaayyyyyy Take scraps of metal and turn it into art.  It's free, but if you spend an hour or two checking the place out, isn't it worth at least throwing a few bucks in to the donation?

This place is the best way to kill an hour if you're around I-25. in N. Colorado. Take a leisurely walk through the Swetsville grounds, and see what car parts have been made into dinosaurs, dragons, bugs, and other unnameable creatures. In-f*@#ing-credible.

It's free, but it's so great, I think you should contribute a little. I do, every time I go.

[fyi: For some reason Google Maps shows I-25 as Hwy 87 in those parts. Both are true, but really, it's I-25. Just exit Harmony Rd and go east about a block.]

Ha!  This place is a hoot!  You should really check it out - at least once.  I dig when people take trash and turn it into art.  A lot of people try this without success but the Swetsville Zoo actually accomplishes it.  These pieces are fun, interesting, quirky, and they are art.  Our first visit was with out-of-town guests and I am quite certain we will be showing the place off to other guests as well.  The grounds are nice with picnic tables and the river running through.  It is free but donations are appreciated I'm sure.  Kat A. is right it is totally like Muppet skeletons!  Best of all it is a zoo without live animals!!!  No big majestic cats anxiously pacing here!

If you need a fun, free way to spend an unforgettable afternoon (well, save for gas money), schlep up to Swetsville Zoo right outside Ft. Collins. We learned about this spot in Oddball Colorado: A Guide to Some Really Strange Places (it's available at Tattered Cover). Essentially, it's an outdoor art show. There are all these whimsical creatures that have been constructed from old car parts, pieces of farm equipment,  and all kinds of other metal materials. They sort of remind me up Muppet skeletons. The two times we have gone it has been next to empty and a really relaxing experience. Kids would love this spot and it's a great place to throw down a picnic, too. Highly, highly recommended.
