I'm so glad we got to Sweetpea before noon otherwise I would have been without bagel and that would have made me sadder then sad. I heard them tell people they had run out of bagels while I sat there savoring my sesame w/ "bacon" scallion "cream cheese".
Sure I felt a little bit bad for them as they tried to think of a Plan B, but I was grateful I had gotten mine just in time.
Since going vegan, I've only been able to have bagels at home w/ tofutti cream cheese and it's just not as satisfying when you spread your own fakey cream cheese on your own toasted bagel. It's always better when someone else does it for you.
I decided against the brunch buffet as I wasn't feeling quite tofu scrambly and I figured if I only had a bagel, I'd have room to shove one of their sweet little treats into my mouth and not feel too guilty.
I struggled between the charlie brown and the peanut butter brownie, but the brownie won out in the end and I do not regret my decision.
My trip to portland was full of baked goods. The brownie was awesome, but I really wished we had time to come back for the lemon raspberry cake, the monster cookie sandwiches or the doughnuts.

Why all the negativity towards Sunday brunch on here? It was good, haters!
Sure, finding a seat is quite the daunting task, but just watch people like a hawk...when you see a group looks just about finished, stare them down and they'll get the hint to get up and leave, then swoop in and claim your seat.
This morning they had pancakes, blueberry preserves, tofu scramble, grits, potatoes and kale. Oh, and free coffee! Everything was great, save the grits, which were a bit dry and needed more seasoning. The tofu scramble was especially delicious, and I probably could have had like, five more pancakes if I wasn't walking home.
If you can wake up in time for it, it's a great cure for the common hangover. I shall be back, fo shooo.

I've been going to Sweetpea ever since they opened just a few blocks away from me a year and a half ago. It's awesome not having to worry if something's not vegan and they have a great selection of snacky things.
The bagels (that used to be kept in the front case, but still can be seen in a shelf just beyond the right side of the counter. they had to move to make room for more savory food options, yay!) are from Kettleman's and you have a choice of pb, jam, earth balance, plain-chipotle-bac'un scallion-veggie-black olive-strawberry Tofutti cream cheese, or hummus.
The homemade soups are tasty, my favorite being the Split Pea, which has a nice smokey flavor. Other options have been: Seitan Noodle, Tomato Kale, Corn Chowder.
There's about 5 premade sandwiches to pick from for a quick bite. They're either $4 or $4.50 and you can choose to pay extra for a side like potato or macaroni salad. The sandwiches usually feature their housemade seitan or a faux meat mayo-based salad.
As for the tasty sweet things, I'm a huge fan of the Coconut Lime or Lemon Bars, Blueberry Muffins, Charlie Browns (layers of chocolate, peanut butter and a granola-like bottom), and Caramel Nut Bars. My neighbor ordered a cake for their birthday and it was beautiful and, most importantly, fan-freakin-tastic.
Every Sunday, there's an all-you-can-eat buffet, that includes coffee, for $10. I haven't been in awhile, but it's normally very good eats.
Occasionally there's Pizza Rolls, which are more calzone style, just not as fat. They are a favorite of my roommate's.
My favorite thing about Sweetpea is that, on Saturdays only, they have delicious raised doughnuts. There's always glazed and Boston Creme (i think recently they changed it so that boston creme isn't always there) and then they usually have at least one other flavor, normally whatever is in season. I just stick with the glazed though since that has always been my favorite. The only thing i would say though is that the glazed donuts can be a little inconsistent. This is due to them being hand fried (not like at Krispy Kreme where a machine cooks them). So sometimes they can be a little overcooked.
The staff have always been helpful and friendly. Especially Audra, the girl with dyed hair. I don't think i've ever seen her in a bad mood and she loves to chat and get to know you while serving you. The owner Lisa is usually around and has always been really friendly. The only time when I've had to wait for someone to greet me is in the evening when the business is slower and therefore not as many people working.

I've had to censor my review because I received a threatening letter from the owner of this establishment. My opinion still stands: the customer service at Sweetpea Baking Company sucks beyond belief, and the person working the counter is unprofessional, rude and scowling. It's really rotten that I can't speak to my complete experience in this open forum without being threatened by the owner of the company.

If you're looking for vegan deserts and other baked goods - this is your place. In that regard, I give Sweet Pea 5 stars. Their cakes and cupcakes have come in very handy when looking for bday and other celebrations treats for vegan friends.
We had Breakfast here this morning which I would actually only give 3 stars. It's decent food - just nothing special. It's plain and set out like a buffet.
IMO, like Chinese food, Portland is still in need of some really good vegan restaurants.

Vegan or not, this place is *great* for breakfast.
Throughout the week they have great bagels with various spreads, great pastries and baked goods, and they serve up Stumptown (Not the blends, though. Usually its their nicer coffees!)
Saturday is Doughnut day, and I venture that Sweetpea's doughnuts are some of the best in town.
Sunday is Brunch day, and the theme changes weekly.

I don't usually crave chocolate (actually, I rarely eat it) but after having one of their brownies on Friday from Papa G's cafe, I was craving more so after dinner the other day, we went straight to the source and got it direct. I also ordered an apple pie bar and the guy threw in another bar for free because he liked me (no really, it was because the apple pie bar was kind of on the thin side so he gave me an extra to balance it out). The apple pie bar was pretty good, I'd imagine it'd be just like apple pie if it were heated up and probably even better with ice cream. The brownie was actually a gluten-free one (I'm not allergic to gluten, this was simply a personal choice) and while it didn't have that addicting dense/chewy texture that traditional brownies have, it was still pretty delicious.
Definitely want to go back if I ever get brownie cravings again!

I love this place. It's charming, the people who work there are friendly and kind, the baked goods and coffee are fantastic. Sometimes, later in the day the sandwiches get soggy and occasionally the music is too loud/unpleasant but nine times out of ten, this place is my number one cafe.
I moved from the SE and I miss Sweetpea every day.
If you're in town for only a couple of days, you MUST GET: a caramel nut bar. After that: a Charlie Brown. If you're a cookie person, go for the AJ (oatmeal, peanut butter, & chocolate chip!) If you're a cake person, you can't go wrong with the oatmeal cake.
After you dissolve into a puddle of baked good ecstasy, leave them a love letter in the chicken canister and don't forget to tip your baristas.

So I rushed out of the house one morning in a hurry to make an appointment. My office is around the corner from Sweetpea baking company and I think I'll just nip in grab a cup of coffee and some vegan treat. I'm not a vegan or even a vegetarian - but I figure 60% or more of what I eat on a regular basis is non-animal based so I have no qualms here.
I walked in - stood at the counter - smiled at no one in particular. There was no one in front of me at the counter - just me..... I stood and stood and stood - for maybe 3 - 4 minutes. Not one person in the place smiled, said hello, be with you in a minute - nothing. I walked out. It was btw a glorious sunny day. Went to Red and White and went about my business. Can the food be really that good if the people are so dour? Or could they detect the smell the meat and/or diary from the previous day when I walked in the door?

Best vegan brownies that I have ever had.
In truth we bought a brownie at some vegan restaurant across town and discovered it was sweetpea that had made it so then we went to sweetpea a few days later and loaded up.
The apple tart bars are not half bad either but if you are short on change then get one of the chocolate vegan brownies because they really hit the spot....mmm mmm mmmm

I'm not even vegan, but I leave my leather purse in the car when I go into sweet pea and grab a charlie brown or a whoopie pie to-go that I shamelessly devour before I get home.. I call myself a vegan dessertarian- seriously it's that good.

This review is so painful to write-- why oh why did I leave you, Sweetpea?!
Vegan cake, cupcakes, assorted pastries, coffees... I've died and gone to heaven. My friend and I split a slice of the raspberry chocolate cake and a slice of the coconut cake, agreeing in the end they were simply the most divine cruelty-free creations that had passed our lips in quite a while. The store itself is very cute and sweetly decorated. My favorite decoration was the handstitched sign that looks like it was sewn by someone's long dead grandmother that simply reads "Goddamn". Love it!
This place isn't cheap, but given that I'm used to paying more for vegan desserts down in LA, it wasn't a huge blow to my wallet. Sometimes you just have to splurge, and dessert is the best time to do that.
The only way this place could have impressed me further is if they had more people working the store and if the guy behind the counter was just a little bit friendlier. Other than that this place gets my Los Angelino vegan seal of approval!

This place has amazing deserts and can be also be found at New Seasons. As far as vegan baked goods go, this place rocks it. The various cakes are super moist and I love that they've created a delicious vegan butter cream frosting.
Their cold sandwiches are also great. Both the bbq and faux chicken salad sammies are served on delicious sourdough or white bread. They also do a Sunday brunch held between 9-12ish. They serve Stumpton coffee: a favorite of my partner and myself. Everything is affordable and of good quality.
What I find really compelling about this place is their attitude toward food and particularly the vegan diet: it's never living without.
This place is a really chill, deli-style place with a menu that I hope only grows.
Oh my gosh- coffee cake, macaroni salad, hot chocolate, giant cookies, sandwiches, soups, and so much MORE! EVERYTHING is delicious! The staff is real nice and the prices aren't bad either!
Great atmosphere and outdoor seating in a chill location. Very relaxing, great for groups, meetings, get-togethers, or whatevers. =]
Skip the sandwiches. If you are not vegan, this place is not going to persuade you to be. Not the warmest atmosphere; there are too many good cafes in Portland (3 friends is just aroun the corner) so a new place like this needs to try harder.
This place is so good that my beau and I returned twice in one weekend! We like to eat and go out a lot and are definitely repeat customers at a couple fine places; but twice in one weekend is pretty serious.
We are not vegan or vegetarian but we like to eat healthy and enjoy those options. I've lived in the neighborhood for a short while and though I've gone to Food Fight a couple times, I''ve sadly never ventured to Sweetpea. I am absolutely stoked that I live within a couple minutes walking from there!
The latte I had was probably better than any 'normal' latte I've had. There was lots of foam; the perfectly smooth, creamy kind! The un-chicken salad sandwich had the same flavor as you expect chicken salad to have, only with a better texture. I gave up animal and animal product for lent so I've been going without sweets for a little while now. So when I stood in front of the case with the treats in it, my eyes lit up and I was instantly overwhelmed. I couldn't even decide (very unlike me)...I had to pass the buck, otherwise we would have ended up with 12 different cookies, cakes, bars and bellyaches.
I will be back for sure, maybe for the brunch on Sunday morning??

Sweetpea Baking Company is a treat.
Great selection of vegan cupcakes, pastries, cakes and sandwiches that are certainly not devoid of flavor. The staff was friendly and I like seeing the masters at work in the open kitchen area.
Favorite item: citrus bar (like a key lime/lemon pie with equal parts pie and crust - yum).

As a non vegan, I have to say that I loved Sweet Pea's "Charlie Brown" which is a granola bar topped with a lotta peanut butter and a sheet of chocolate. If I were a vegan, I can see how the doughnuts would be really good, but since I'm not a vegan, I'd much prefer the real thing.

I loved this little place! One of the best vanilla soy lattes I've ever had teamed with a delicious marionberry muffin made for an excellent start to the morning. I had trouble choosing from all the delicious pastries, but the muffin finally pulled me in and I knew I'd made a great choice.
The staff was friendly and the service was super quick. I wish I lived in Portland because I would definitely go here a lot for breakfast.

Dear Sweetpea,
Thank you for being awesome and literally right across the street from my apartment! Your delectable pastries are to die for and your soups and sandwiches absolutely scrumptious. This will be the beginning of a long and torrid love affair.
My boyfriend and I wandered over after our leasing company gave us a $10 gift certificate to apologize for the on-going construction. Between the two of us we had the BBQ seitan sandwich, black bean and corn soup, and a soda and used up our card. Not bad, eh? Then, we tasted the food!! We definitely got what we "paid" for. Both were absolutely amazing.
So, I went back a couple days later and got a cold spicy chai with almond milk (so many choices to make!) and a peanut butter cookie. Again, both were beyond my expectations.
The only reason I didn't give five stars was for the employee "attitude." I guess they were nice enough, but I didn't feel cool or hipster enough to be in there really. Sorry guys.

I have a confession to make: I, for a month in 2008 (okay, last month) was addicted to the 'Twilight Saga.' That's right, I know to call it 'Saga' instead of 'Series.' I'm not proud of that month, but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
So why do I open a review of a vegan bakery with an embarrassing admission to lit-crack? Well, after running to Powell's at 5:30 for a hit -er, the next book in the Saga-I wasn't about to go back home before my movie at 9:30 as that would waste gas (fine, it would cut into my reading time). The only thing to do was to cozy up at a coffee shop and read a couple hundred pages. I decided Around the World lacks corners to hide in (I was going to be in public, I wasn't going to flaunt the book). I drove to Blends on Burnside but alas it closes at 6. I then drove to Rimsky-Korsakoffee House but it doesn't open until 7. I was going to give up and go home when I noticed a shining light on Stark.
By this point, not only was I hungry for Stephanie Meyer's fluff, I was also hungry for normal food. I walked into the industrial looking bakery hoping to get some not sweet food. Other then the chick behind the counter there was only one other person there. I walked up to the bakery case and looked it over. Everything looked so good. The only not sweet food out was a pepperoni pizza roll thing. Oh, did I mention at this point I didn't know it was a vegan bakery? So without this key information I thought my vegetarian ass was screwed. I was starving by this point so I *had* to get a brownie. A gooey, delicious brownie. At some point before I got my dessert I found out about the meatlessness of the joint, but somehow I forgot to order the slightly healthier option. Oopsies. The cappuccino that I got to go with the brownie was less than stellar, but oh that chocolate brownie. So good.
An hour and 80 or so pages into the book my stomach made it very clear that a brownie a dinner does not make. There was no other option than to get the pizza wrap thing. So, so good. I have had plenty of vegan fare and this was some of the best.
Although I did appreciate being able to sit in relative quiet and read for a couple hours, the only downside of this place was the seating situation. It was pretty uncomfortable. There was one little comfy seating area near the back of the public space but the other person was sitting there. I was sitting on the wall and by the end of my time there my back was screaming.
Overall I great bakery - vegan or not - that I will definitely return to.

I'm still in love with this place. I honestly have never had anything BAD from here. Ok, maybe some days it's more perfect than others, but it's quality every time. My new favorites are danishes, AJ cookies, and apple pie bars. I also appreciate the soups, happy bowls, and sandwiches. And bacun scallion cream cheese bagels...and boston creme piecake...and vanilla soy steamers...and brunch. Who am I trying to kid? This place is the shit. Just go eat it. And don't give me any of that "but what does it taste like if it doesn't have eggs?" It tastes like happy fun mouth time.

I AM A BELIEVER IN VEGAN CUPCAKES! now i want to try baking vegan cupcakes!!!
i got the carrot and the banana cupcakes and OMG they taste so good!!! they both had their distinct flavor (carrot vs banana), moist, and so not sweet. its amazing! how in the world do u make the cake so moist when there aren't any eggs involved?!?! even the [vegan] cream cheese (??) frosting on the carrot is fantastic. i was quite surprised at how it wasn't sweet at all! i'm quite surprised by the similarity in tastes!
too bad i'm back in california .. otherwise i will be coming back for more and more =)
though when you first enter, it does not have that painfully sweet, rotten your teeth kind of smell... like a bakery. but i guess the smell is because there are other things being served too.

Sweetpea, you've ruined my life. Vegan raised glazed donuts? Arghhhhhh. They're so good that every Saturday morning I seriously consider selling my possessions and flying up to Portland on the earliest flight I can manage, just to get some donuts.
I really can't emphasize the calming yet spasm-inducing feeling that being somewhere ENTIRELY VEGAN causes. I don't have to be 'the' person worrying about asking too many questions, politely trying to get things on the side, feeling like a dick for special orders etc etc etc. The most complex choice I have to make here is what kind of milk to get in my vegan cocoa - because there are MORE options than 'just' soy. Yes - rice, hemp & almond milk are all available (tho hemp is a little more expensive but who even offers hemp milk? Pay the extra amount!). I haven't even started on about the vegan cream cheese shmears yet - not that I can ever stray from the bacon/scallion one. Soup too! God this place is amazing. And a nice place to sit for a long time or to just run into before/after stopping at Food Fight! before heading to some dark closet to stuff your face with vegan goods.
Vegan owned & operated, personable & friendly people working (I should say 'non-judgemental' since no one ever bats an eye at the sheer qty of pastries I end up ordering here), DELICIOUS food (vegan raised-glazed donuts and vegan Sunday brunch and vegan pumpkin pies at the holidays etc etc etc) AND during the snowstorm in Dec 08, that pretty much shut the city of Portland down, Sweetpea was open every goddamned day. Thank you!

Not so hot. The sweets are contrived, where there would be eggs, there's sugar, where there would be milk, there's sugar. Nothing particularly innovative.
The brunch is bland, like 'i don't know if they used a pinch of spices including salt' bland.
Sandwiches and bowls are a tragically petty attempt to steal business from their neighbor, the Red and Black Cafe. They abandoned all attempts at professional courtesy when they sent out a myspace bulletin to the effect of "finally a place to get cheap vegan food in the SE." Boo. Vegan, yes. But good neighbors too.

Tasty vegan baked goods, much better than the other vegan bakers in town IMO. Friendly service, stumptown coffee and oh so many tasty vegan treats. I have brought their baked goods to gatherings (without disclosing there veganess) and everyone raved about how great they were.
And as for the brunch, I personally love it. My vegan sister and I have gone and we enjoyed everything. The buffet is small but I don't really need a lot of options, quality over quantity. Plus for $10 it comes with coffee and oj. I think it's a fantastic deal. My omni husband didn't enjoy it as much as we did but he did say he would go back.
You definitely don't have to be veg to enjoy Sweetpea.

Four stars, because I'm just happy that Sweet Pea exists.
Everything was good, I really just wasn't as blown away as I had hoped to be. We came by on a Saturday morning to pick up a few pastries for the drive back to Seattle, as well as some cupcakes to enjoy later.
We ended up trying 4 different types of scones- which were fantastic. Big enough to share, and the perfect texture. They reminded me almost exactly of the PPK's recipe for scones- which is a good thing.
We also bought a coconut cupcake and a cookies and cream cupcake. They really just didn't do much for me. The cake texture was too dry and crumbly, and the frosting was thick and heavy, with not a lot of flavor. I really couldn't even tell the difference between the two, which bummed me out.
I love them for doing what they're doing- I am just so burnt out on cupcakes- especially cupcakes that are just "okay". I wish that they'd be more creative and more BOLD with their flavors.
I also wish the overall feel was a bit warmer and more welcoming. It just felt very sterile and blah.
Amazing. I won't even bother to prefix every foodstuff I mention with vegan. Instead I should use the modifier "out-of-this-world."
The cream of broccoli soup is delicious and the smaller size is plenty big enough and leaves plenty of room for the sweets.
And oh my, the sweets. Cookies, brownies, cakes, pies, tortes. Everything is incredible.
A perfect place to take someone who claims to not like vegan food.
What this place is Vegan? I generally tend to avoid most vegan, gluten free, soy free, or obnoxiously healthy cookies and pastries in order to avoid angering my taste-buds which always know the difference, but this bakery had them fooled.

Sweetpea completes me.
There are so many good things about Sweetpea I don't know where to start. Best of all is their menu - chocolate babka, brownie cheesecake, chocolate eclairs, lemon squares...
The bagels and cream cheese are a favorite of mine; particularly the bacon-scallion and strawberry depending on my taste for sweet or savory. I am so happy they offer this!!
The bakery always seems clean and the staff has always been friendly and helpful.
Lastly, the coffee is a little pricy but worthy of the cost.
Disclaimer: I've never been here for brunch and that's what seems to ruin everyone's reviews.
I love their ideas and would like to subscribe to their newsletter immediately.
I've never had anything bad here. Their monster cookies? Phenomenal (And I feared the idea of cookies + frosting). Their Charlie Browns? To die for. (I mean literally - from the sugar coma.) Their brownies/blondies/cupcakes are superb. And their raspberry bars? Uuugggnnngngngh.
I have to impose a quota on myself or else I'd be here every single day.
Also, I'm convinced that Sweetpea employs the nicest people ever. When I first visited Portland I must have come here with my friends once a day for the six day duration of our trip. Everyone remembered us and smirked (I know, I know) but also welcomed us back. And there's some girl with blue hair (yes, I'm going to call her out) who swaps hair dye tips with me and is probably the nicest person I've met thus far in Portland.

I'm not a vegan, nor have I ever had the yearning to go to an all-Vegan cafe, but I stumbled upon this place and was craving a bakery item and coffee.
I ordered a medium Mocha coffee and a Snickerdoodle Cookie... well, actually two cookies held together with a ton of icing. Let me tell you, if someone were to have given me this cookie and not told me it was vegan, I would have had no idea. The only thing I would have said was, "Wow. This could be one of the best cookies I've ever had in my entire life". Seriously. I was blown away by this cookie. First of all, it was obviously fresh, as the bakery was wide open and you could see people constantly baking. Second of all, it was perfectly baked- soft, chewy, and with the perfect balance of cinnamon and sugar. The frosting may have been the biggest surprise, though. It was great. It didn't taste like "normal" frosting... a little different. But still soooo tasty. I'd take this over Mrs. Field's anyday!
My Mocha was made with Almond milk after asking the gentleman behind the counter for his recommendation. They have all different milk options, including almond, hemp, soy, rice, and maybe more? Again, it didn't taste like a "normal" Mocha made with dairy milk, but it was certainly tasty!
Service was nice and the atmosphere was cool- stark, minimalistic, and clean! Such a cool place, and I'm looking forward to going back, when I'll certainly try a vegan cupcake. Unfortunately, I'm cupcaked-out at the moment.

Vegan. Glazed. Doughnuts. Oh my stars and garters.
I'm not vegan, but I seem to frequent Sweetpea most Saturdays. The glazed doughnuts are amazing (they lose quite a bit of awesomeness the next day so eat them whilst they are fresh) and the other pastries are rather delish as well. I'm a big fan of the scones, but I also don't like overly sweet things. The cupcakes can be a bit on the dry side. Oh, and they serve Stumptown if that's your thing.
The less than stellar reviews seem to revolve around brunch, which I've never been to. So proceed with caution. But I have no problem giving up animal products once a week. It's worth it.

This review is just for the Sunday buffet, I somehow had the willpower to not sample any of the baked goods! I almost wish I had, they all looked so delicious!
Every Sunday Sweetpea has an all you can eat buffet for $10. It was just OK, I was not that impressed. I am so not a Vegan though, Vegetarian yes, totally....but I just don't have the dedication to be a Vegan. I would probably go in to shock without cheese, or at least break down in tears. Anyway, from what I have heard, the buffet is hit or miss. Sadly, it was mostly a miss for me.
I guess for $10 I should not have expected a lot of fresh fruits and veggies, but I was hoping! But, it was pretty basic: polenta, some green leafy veggie, kale I think, with this soy sauce, biscuits, vegan gravy, curried tofu eggs, hash browns, and soy sausage. Well, I am assuming it was soy, it was an odd gray color and I was afraid to try it. I tried the polenta which was pretty good, the hash browns which were OK, the kale which was a total miss. It was way to early in the morning for the soy sauce or whatever it was. It was quite bitter and salty. The biscuits were fantastic, they were so good. They kept bringing more and more of them out of the oven and serving them piping hot. So delicious, five stars for that! They also brought out this peach cobbler which was quite good but one of my dining companions had a completely frozen piece of peach.
Most of my dining companions filled their plates up two or three times and were heaping food on their plates. So, I feel badly only giving it three stars but I was just not thrilled with the food. I heard that the waffles are fantastic, I wish they had them when I went there.
So, yeah...no fruits, veggies, oats, cereal or any of the other breakfast staples that I was expecting. I almost wish it was a bit more expensive and your meal included more fresh stuff. To me, the food didn't seem all that healthy and it was all so heavy. I was sleepy after! But, I guess for $10 having it be all you can eat including juice, coffee, and water...well, you get what you pay for!
I am dying to sample the treats though! Fun vibe inside, it was quite crowded. Folks were even sitting outside on the ground eating breakfast. I saw lots of folks going up multiple times so, it is worth checking out at least once. It certainly is cheap! Oh, and super cute inside....loved the artwork on the walls.

I really want to LOVE sweetpea. Really really want to love it... but it's only okay.
Their baked goods are dense. The cakes are tasteless and the icings or toppings overly sweet. Their jelly filled donut has MAYBE two teaspoons of "random red jelly" in a relatively huge donut. For yeast donuts they are cakey and dry.
Everything is edible but I really feel like if this is where you judge vegan baked goods you're doing yourself a disservice. I've been to sweetpea a few times-- the first time just as it opened for cupcakes. I enjoyed their bagle and schmer. My cupcake was a dense chocolate cupcake with "toasted coconut" frosting... I tasted no coconut and I prefer my cupcakes at room temperature-- not refrigerated.
My second visit was with a friend who was visiting from out of town. We tried one of each of the three donuts they offer, a scone, a cupcake, and a snickerdoodle cookie. With three very hungry foodies you would expect us to have finished something-- we all agreed sweetpea seems to make up for flavor with sugar.
The staff is great. The atmosphere is wonderful and I REALLY REALLY want to love this place. I'll go again, certainly to support the cause-- but I'll stick to bagles and leave my cupcake cravings to somewhere else.

Hurray for Sweet Pea!!!
Not only is their Charlie Brown square to die for (to shake for, really), Sweet Pea made a kind donation to the 2008 Portland Walk for Farm Animals.
Back to Charlie Brown... seriously, this is a peanut butter freak's wet dream. A piece of creamy, chewy, peanut buttery, sweet granola heaven. It'll make you yearn for your insulin pen. You like peanut butter? You like Charlie Brown.
Thanks Lisa, Miss remarkably open-hearted manager!
