    The cutest yogurt boutique shoppe!

I finally was able to try out Sweet Lola's yesterday after a delicious brunch of crepes next door at Coco's. Both the outside and inside of Sweet Lola's is attractive. There are lavish displays of candles, stationary sets and everything else that will pamper your spirit!

I chose the Royal Pear yogurt and was quite pleased! Pear has to be one of my favourite flavours, and I have never seen it at any other yogurt bar. I also love the fact that there are only about 4 flavours to choose from. It keeps this place nice and simple. All the yogurts are thick and creamy, with a fresh aroma that lingers after eating them. Freshness at its finest. I topped my pear yogurt with tart strawberries and blueberries. I do believe that more fruits could be added to the topping selection, as I am not a fan of eating candies with yogurt. Nonetheless, the yogurt kept me happy as I strolled around the street. It didn't melt quick, which is also a great factor. I will definitely be dropping by again after lunch in the greater Midtown plaza. :)

    trendy girly hipster place

a really cute boutique type store.  went here for the frozen yogurt.  they had like 4 flavors and limited toppings.  I was so sad they didn't have mochi!! =(  I got the green apple and it was good! a bit of a tart to it which was great.  a bit on the expensive side but I guess that comes with the whole appeal of this place.  this would be a great place to study or to bring someone for a date.

I visited with my daughter who loved it here. Its a uber girly space. Lots of pink and frill. There were four flavors to choose from what was there was  good. We picked one that tasted pretty much like a orange dreamsicle.  The toppings were ok I didn't fall in love with any of them but we will visit again. They sale other nick knacks but I didn't have time to loo at it. Paper and bath stuff mostly? Kinda random but hey why not.
You pay by weight so remember that when making your self sever.
The customer service is top notch!! A+ for that.
Parking is in the garage behind or on the street. Its on a busy corner of West Gray the garage might be the best option depending on the time of day.

I could do without all the overpriced boutique knickknacks, but I get it, it's a business and kitsch sells. But it smells like a Pier 1 and I just want yogurt, forgive me.

I'm so annoyed with Yelp reviews where people gripe about the price of this yogurt.Stay in your apartment and eat peanut butter all week if you can't afford something so insignificant as $4-7 yogurt. Stop shooting your fingers off about price when you chose not to make your own food and go out. It's not like someone held a gun to your head and you had to pay up to, oh, shudder, $10 for yogurt against your will.Good grief.

Anyhow, I commend the owner for making her own ingredients and trying to do the organic thing. It's nice to go somewhere and get something offbeat like lavender yogurt instead of the burning chemical aftertaste of some sugar free fat carb smart red velvet yogurt. I also appreciate that she makes her own toppings. I like personal touch.

At the same time, does that necessarily mean it tastes better?

Some of the flavors didn't particularly knock my nude pantyhose off.

Cinnanilla (sp?), however, with PB croutons was fantastic. Reminded me of Amy's Ice Cream's Mexican Vanilla.

I wish there was more selection although I understand it's a small, non-chain yogurt shop.

Will be back, of course. I guess the offbeat flavors keep me on my toes for the next week.

Sweet Lola is the best fresh yogurt place in town, hands down!   The owner makes her own toppings, and it really makes all the difference.  You must try the peanut butter "croutons" topping - it is crave worthy!

The store only has four flavors at a time, which is great because you get to try different ones and nothing gets stale.  "Blush" is my favorite flavor so far, it's an almond / cherry limeade type of flavor, amazing!

The store itself is super cute, think of an Anthropologie type of yogurt shop.  She sells gifts, candles, etc.

5 stars all the way.  Did I mention the service is perfect as well?

This place is precious! It's very girly and boutique-esque--- so expect that when you go. This is not a Swirl or a Yogurtland type of place.

There are 4 flavors of yogurt and they change regularly. They are off the beaten path flavors like Lavender (which doesn't taste like you'd think...) or Cinnanilla (cinnamon and vanilla = yummy). There are about 12 toppings and some really different things to choose from. I really liked the peanut butter croutons!

It's cute if you're in the area and with your girlfriends. I wouldn't take a boy, he'd probably feel like a bull in a china closet.

Hey there Sweet Lola customers and future friends! This review won't be one of my typical reviews because Sweet Lola is NOT your typical fro-yo joint, and I am no typical customer... in fact, I was lucky enough to meet Miss Sarina [the stylish genius behind the scenes] the first time I went to Sweet Lola. I was a bright eyed, somewhat naive 21 year old moving to the "Big City" when I convinced my roommate that we should check out this cute shop close to our new apartment. When I walked in, my jaw dropped. Am I really standing in this super glamourous, ultra trendy shop where the woman behind the counter genuinely smiled at me and welcomed me to Sweet Lola Yogurt Bar? Seriously, where's my reality TV crew, they should totally be documenting this!?

Not only did she welcome me, she came from behind the counter and showed me how to taste the totally unique yogurt flavors... which she explained are all 100% totally her creation! THEN she went back behind the counter and walked me through the topping bar and allowed me
to try every single thing to help with my decision. Just amazing! I can't even remember what that first yogurt was like but let's just say it hooked me... so much so I never left.

After joining Sarina and her daughter Jenna, I experienced the wonderful benefits of working for a local shop. The atmosphere allows the employees to take the time to talk to the customers and get to know them. I can't tell you how many wonderful people I've had the chance to not only meet but make long lasting friendships with. That's what Sweet Lola is all about, getting to know the customers and treat them like family.

That's why all of the yogurt is organic and made with the best all-natural ingredients... which is one of the things I first learned and loved about Sweet Lola. All of the toppings are chosen with care, Sweet Lola knows that time to time everyone needs a little sweet indulgence and when you do everything is going to be the highest quality and totally delish! For example Lola's FAMOUS sea salted peanut butter croutons. Home-made and definitely one of a kind, Lola's croutons are gluten free and taste out of this world.

As for the yogurt, it is also home-made and one of a kind. It's REAL organic yogurt from a cute dairy farm in California and Sarina creates the flavors all naturally without any added sugars, fats, or gluten. Of course I had the misfortunate job [sarcasm people] of taste testing most flavors and I guarantee that a lot of love and hard work goes in to developing new flavors which pop up all the time! Some of my personal favorites that are majorly popular with customers are: Blush [cherry almond], Lavender, White Apple, and Dreamy Dark Chocolate!

Seasonal flavors differ but here are a few depending on the time of year:

Summer/Spring: Peach Perfect, Lola Colada, Tropical Ginger, Island Hibiscus, Blush [cherry almond], Lavender, Ginger Lime, O'Nilla, Dreamy Chocolate, Strawberry Fields, Chocolate Coconut Truffle, etc.

Winter/Fall: Sugar Plum Berry, Frosty Frosting, White Apple, Cinnamon Creme, Merry Mint, Jolly Nog, Dreamy Chocolate, Caramel Macchiato, Red Velvet, etc.

Any questions about price or nutrition facts are easily answered by Sarina herself on the Facebook page, she almost always gets back to everyone who asks a question. But the general price range for one person is between $4-7 dollars depending on how much you fill up the cup. I'm not sure why, but this price range seems to be a little much for some customers. All I can say, is that my Starbucks drink or my dessert when I eat out a restaurant is always more than my yogurt at Sweet Lola. Lola is not "cheap" for allllllll of the reasons mentioned above... If you want amazing taste and top quality yogurt this is the place YOU want to be! Plus there's a punch card buy 10 get one free and new comer's and super sweet guests get 10% off! Pretty sweet... just like Lola :]

Last but not least, Sweet Lola has amazing gifts from my fave candles to the cutest greeting cards ever. It's the perfect place to pick up something your best friend, girlfriend, or mother will love! Don't forget... Sweet Lola has your fave gossip magazines and free WIFI so you can surf the net the next time you're munching on your delicious creation. Hope to see you all when I return in the fall, lots of love!

Sweet Lola's has a yogurt flavor called lavender that I really enjoy. The only downfall is that it isn't always available. I'm not a fan of any of their other flavors. The lavender doesn't taste like a flower. It has a plain yogurt flavor to it but better. I'm simple when it comes to soft serve yogurt, no toppings just the yogurt plain. So why 3 stars when I'm a big fan of their lavender flavor.... they don't always have it!

I completely love this place!  If you're looking for variety of flavors this might not be the place for you.  The four flavors that they have are absolutely wonderful.  The toppings are not just typical candy you can buy from a convenient store.  More like chocolate covered acai berries (yum) and sea salt peanut butter croutons (double yum) are some of the few toppings.  Thank goodness I don't live close because I would be there everyday.

Every time I go there I always get great service.  Everyone is really sweet and helpful.  They never fell me.

The decor is really cute and cozy...white, black, hot pink, and light green.  It's interesting to see everything they have for sell in the store.   There are seating available inside and outside.

My friends just moved into a townhome across the street and have been raving about Sweet Lola, especially the name;)

Last night we went there after dinner and I was so intrigued! The place is adorable, VERY girlie and boutique like. There is not much to pick from (4 flavors) and the toppings are alright.

I got Strawberry and Chocolate with chocolate chips. At Yogurtland it would cost me like $2...this was double.

The atmosphere is great, but that is what you are paying for...the yogurt-mmm, not so much.

Lovely! Lovely, lovely place with delicious yogurt. Sweet Lola is like the Haute Cuisine of Yogurt. First they only serve 4 flavors. You know a place that has less selection does their food well and all 4 flavors are amazing. They were absolutely the most delicious yogurt flavors I've ever had. You can tell that they spent time developing the flavor and concocting the recipe so that it was just right. My favorite was the Blush which is a cherry almond. The chocolate was also amazing, it reminded me of chocolate pudding and was not too rich and not watery like other yogurt places that serve chocolate yogurt.

Of course the flavors rotate from time to time so make sure to check their facebook site to see what's new. I am already planning my next trip back.

I remembered reading a review where someone had said that the decor was like it came from an Anthropologie store, especially with the candles and trinkets for sale. Well, I say it's more like a very perky cutesy tea shop. The store is just one room with several small round tables. I say perky, because the pink and pastel lime green colors make me think of the sort of peppy and perky cheerleader who's a Martha Stewart in the making. I kinda sorta like it, but it gets a little overwhelming if I spend too much time there.

I was a little obsessed with the lavender flavor for a bit, which is mildly sweet, herby, and the slightest bit tart. However, the other flavors are a pass for me. Dark & Dreamy Chocolate - I'm not a chocolate in my frozen goods type. O'Nilla (a sweet orange vanilla) - has a weird bitter taste. Blush (almond cherry) - pretty straight up cherry. I haven't been feeling the seasonal flavors either, with some sort of mint, Green Apple (which always tastes artificial) and Cinnamon Creme (too much cinnamon, not enough vanilla).

The toppings are fantabulistico. You have those crunchy swirly straws, speculoos (ginger cookies), brownie bites, Brown Betty crumbles, granola, fruit, etc. The sweet baked type goods, such as the brownie bites, are made in house.

I think my primary problem is that I come here and get a tiny bit of froyo as an accompaniment to the toppings, which is pretty silly, given that Sweet Lola isn't on the cheap side and I can get most of the items from the grocery store for cheaper (Central Market for the speculoos). Hell, I once made two trips in one day, the second trip to get the Brown Betty crumbles. When I got home, I decided to make some by dumping a bunch of butter, brown sugar, and granola into a pot, then baking it, all the while trying not to hyperventilate over the calories. Fortunately, I wound up burning the second (yes, the second) batch.

Parking can be a pain in Midtown, but, if you're lucky, you can get free parking in the garage right behind Sweet Lola. Also, if it's your first time, you get 10% off.

The decor is cute and quirky.  The staff is friendly, funny, and helpful.  The froyo is pretty darn good (though a little too sweet for my taste).  Pricing is based on your greediness - it goes by weight, so if you want to save money, cut back a little on those toppings. :)  For $5 you can get a decently big helping of froyo with a decent amount of toppings.  Careful, it melts MUCH faster than ice cream in the Houston heat!

My only complaint is the lack of choices - both in yogurt flavors and in toppings.  They only have 4 flavors at any given time, though they do rotate these flavors which is nice.  But I've been there once when I just didn't care for any of the flavors there.  That sucked.  As for the toppings, they do have a decent amount but compared to other places (Tutti Frutti for example) it's just not impressive.  However, they have their own special topping, some sort of peanut butter thing (can't remember the name) that is very good.

It's definitely a great "after-dinner-date" place what with Fish, Cyclone's, and Farrago's in the area.  I'm sure I'll be back!

Having been a fair share of yogurt places in my time, I surmised that sweet lola would follow the standard model of yogurt place design. Imagine to my surprise upon entering to discover a quaint little shop with cute décor and lavender sent permeating the air. Rather than the standard wall 'o yogurt, with fifteen mediocre flavors and five decent ones, sweet lolas has focused their efforts and only offers four flavors.  Any of the four flavors there were delicious, and I actually ended up with all of
    them in my cup!

Topping off the great yogurt was a good selection of add-ons.  Two toppings of note: the chocolate covered espresso beans (yum), and the candied croutons (O_O). I have a strong inclination buy a whole "yogurt" cup of just those croutons...

Overall, sweet lolas, with its décor and unique flavors and add-ons, actually manages to separate itself from the yogurt shop molde!

I paid $6 for frozen yogurt. Something must be wrong with me.

But I have many addictions so I guess this is probably the least destructive one! I enjoyed my picks - the O'Nilla with chocolate covered peanut butter things, granola and almonds. I over loaded on the peanut butter things, so be warned...too many can be too much! ;-)

I really like this place, even if it does have a couple minor flaws inherent in its concept.

Let's start with the ambiance.  I feel like the owner saw the show "Pushing Daisies" and decided to make that the dominant theme for their decor, but not in a bad way.  It's very quirky.  Not entirely my cup of tea but still.

The yogurt itself is often good, although be sure to taste the different flavors before getting some lest you be surprised.  The apple was more tart than I thought it would be, for example, and if I'd loaded up a bowl with it I'd cry extensively at my wasted dollar.  The toppings are incredible--the best without a doubt are the Peanut Butter croutons.  Get some.  They're delicious.

The only other gripe I have, and it's minor, is that as good as Sweet Lola is, sometimes the things that make it the best are absent.  With only 4 flavors in rotation at any given time, you really have to keep up with the Facebook page or email list to know what's on tap when you walk in.  And be wary--the croutons are delicious, but often absent from the shelves due to demand.

When I planned a dinner for my coworker and me, yelp notified me that this froyo place was just down the street from our restaurant planned for that evening, Cyclone Anaya's.

My favorite flavor to get at froyo places is the tart/tangy plain type, which they did not have. However, I did sample the lavender (Yuck. though I already have an aversion to lavender flavored items, but I just love the smell, so I thought I'd give it another go. Nope.) and berry before settling for the latter.

As I put my yogurt on the scale and the woman rang up my bill, I noticed that the music playing was Jason Mraz's Live CD (Tonight, Not Again) and I was very very pleased to be hearing "Sleeping to Dream."

It wasn't the best froyo I've had, but it fit my need for a light dessert after stuffing my face with fish tacos.

PS: if you have a strong aversion to pink, just don't even try to enter. It's the girliest eatery I've ever been in.

So yum and so fun.  I believe a Mom and daughter started this shoppe and the daughter or one of her friends is usually manning the store.  The decor is darling and the yogurt and fixin's are fabby fabulous.  What a super- fun place to go!
I recommend trying whatever new flavor they have.  I have never gotten anything bad there.  Try a taster cup if you're not brave enough to try an entire cup.  But, as many others have commented, no matter what flavor of yogurt you end up buying, you must, must, MUST get the peanut butter flavored croutons.
I recommend this shoppe not only for the treats, which are delicious, but it is a fun, out-of-the-ordinary place to go and see and take your friends to enjoy.  Have fun!

I've been here 5 times, and it's always great; awesome yogurt, yummy homemade toppings. Last time I went, however, there was no coffee available at 1pm on a Sunday, and no cups of water. Really? I don't mind paying a lot for good quality, but I expect good service in return. And when my kid asks for a cup of water with her $7 yogurt, please oblige. I basically ended up begging for freaking tap water, but to no avail.

The flavors are odd (lavender, blush, etc) and there's only 4 options.  The toppings are homemade (delicious of course).  However, I was really just wanting more of a mainstream frozen yogurt joint (more my taste/opinion than anything) and this wasn't it.  The yogurt was pretty pricey as well.

Besides giving us an awesome new derogatory term for white people (Nilla - which was derived from their Orange Vanilla flavor, O'Nilla) the flavor was actually pretty good and the toppings were fresh as well. I suggest O'Nilla with brownie, granola, and pecans.

Swet Lola is another one of those places that I cannot get excited about.

The best! Went for the first time this weekend and fell in love. The shop itself is so adorable. The staff was very helpful in explaining the flavors and toppings. I chose to go for the chocolate and could not believe that it was not ice cream. It was so rich and creamy...I thought about that Seinfeld episode where people were going gaga over the frozen yogurt when in reality it was ice cream lol!
My fiance did a swirl of the LolaColada and the Blush flavor and I tasted it and was totally impressed. I've never tasted anything like that in a frozen yogurt. I kept stealing bites of his at that point.

The toppings are so original and tasty. I love that it is self-serve, but admit I'd like a way to see how much you're spending before you get to the cash register.

Oh and they have water there too that is so tasty. It's infused with strawberries, cucumbers, and mint. Perfect palate refresher.

So on Wednesdays, my mom tries to make it a point to hang out with me. It doesn't always work, but more often than not, we end up here. The woman is obsessed with this place.

Quite frankly, sometimes, I think I am too. It is the perfect mother daughter location because I think a mother/daughter duo started it.

It's simply adorable! Everything about this place is a girlie girl's delight. From the decor to the trinkets they sell. Even the flavor names are girlie. Think of "Lavender" and "Blush."

My one and only complaint about this place is that they don't have an "original tarte" flavor. Some of us enjoy the plain, plain yogurt taste, and it would be nice to have it.

Move over SWIRL, here's the real deal fro-yo! Very cozy setting inside and friendly staff...

It was our first time and the friendly lady that worked there on Saturday afternoon noticed us and came over to show us on how it works and brief us on the available flavors... Total 2 machines with 2 flavors each. We sampled all 4 flavors, was really a tough decision but we settled on their most popular and house-special flavors - the Dark&Dreamy Chocolate and Lola's Lo'Nilla with fresh fruits topping of Rasberry, Blackberry, Strawberry and Blueberry! We filled 3/4 of the tub and because we are first-timer, she gave us a 10% discount, in all we paid about $7.

Unlike Swirl, the fro-yo here are tastier and somehow much more cremier without that sourness that i found in most of the flavors at Swirl. The other flavor of the day was the Lola's Original Lavender, it was surprisingly tangy, creamy and refreshing... As for price, I think they are not more than any other fro-yo places, its all depend on your toppings.

Now, Houston, we have a problem... You see, we usually get our dessert fix at CoCo (just around the corner), now that Lola has successfully seduced us, we have a dilemma - CoCo or Lola?

i don't mind that there were only 4 flavors, but none of the flavors were that great.  beripop usually only has 3 or 4 flavors, but they are awesome.  i got grape and white apple.  they were ok, but kinda watered down tasting.  they don't have mochi for toppings, so that's minus 20 points in my book.  the decor is cute, and i like the stationary and bath products they have for sale on the other side of the store, but i wasn't sure if i wanted to write a letter, or take a bath, or eat some froyo...or take a bath while eating froyo and writing a letter.

Like most of my favorite spots, I was introduced to Lola through a Groupon.  I've happily been back many times since then.  It's a shame (or maybe a blessing in disguise) that since discovering my love of Lola, we've moved to Austin.  I could see myself going there on a weekly basis.

Walking into Lola's you are greeted with such a sweet and pleasant atmosphere.  It's a nice place to hang out over frozen yogurt, for sure.  It makes you want to take all of your girlfriends here for gab fests or share a frozen yogurt with your hunny.  The staff is also always super friendly and really bend over backwards to give you a good experience.

Who cares about ten thousand yogurt choices when you have 4 exceptionally high quality options? All of those other yogurt places have it all wrong. The flavors are seasonal so there's always something new to experience.

The toppings bar is where it's at.  You will not find a toppings bar like this anywhere else, I can assure you of that.  Fresh fruit and homemade goodies galore.  My absolute favorite toppings at the moment - salted peanut butter croutons and caramel debris. Oh my gaaaawd. I can't even explain the level of delicious this is. That may very well change the next time I go to Lola's though.  There's sure to be something new and wonderful to try!  I'm also a sucker for a big swirl of caramel on top.

I haven't ever purchased any of the candles, lotions, or other trinkets that Lola has stocked, but I do drool over them at each visit.  Maybe one day!

    ***Gourmet! Gourmet!! Gourmet!!!***

You won't find "cake batter" and gummy worms in this foodie heaven.  Sarina, the owner, prides herself at using only the most natural and delicious ingredients for her fat free frozen yogurt (with live cultures!) and toppings.

THE YO: 4 alternating flavors, all exquisite in their own right, and I should know b/c my carb-loading butt tried 'em all.
    1. Lo'nilla: vanilla with a little bit of pure orange oil- like a classy dreamsicle
    2. Chocolate: can't believe this is fat-free, definitely a less sinful way to quench that craving
    3. Classic Lavender: Organic Lav & Lemon, wow- if you've never tried this combo, it's bright, interesting, and the definition of spring
    4. Blush: the newest flavor, cherry blossom and almond, tastes like a chocolate-covered cherry to me!  Unique and oh-so-creamy...

THE TOPS: fresh fruit, central market granola, homemade brownies and chewy peanut butter cookies, fancy chocolate, and much more-- like I said, Sarina keeps it classy- no gas station toppings here.

THE DOUGH: about $6 depending on how much you load in your cup, middle of the road compared to the other places in town price-wise but the quality here is through the roof.

JUST GO: you won't regret this one, team.  XOXO

This is one of the best frozen yogurt places in Houston! The atmosphere is cute and fun, but the yogurt is delicious. The owner puts a lot of efforts in creating flavors with a perfect  balance of everything. There are four flavors, and they switch out often. The basics are LoNilla, Blush, Lavendar and Chocolate, but you can often find fun flavors like Cinnamon/White Apple, Frosting and more.

The toppings are great too. Just like the yogurt, it is a concept that is similar in a lot of frozen yogurt places, but the quality is so much better. The staff is really great and friendly. I highly reccomend trying this place out.

With the glut of DIY frozen yogurt shops in the greater Houston area, Sweet Lola has found a way to distinguish itself from the rest through atmosphere and tasty frozen yogurt.

Living Social featured Sweet Lola on one of its daily deals, so I figured I'd indulge my sweet teeth.

Located in midtown, Sweet Lola isn't another "here's 10 kinds of yogurt; go crazy" frozen yogurt shop.  While other places are going for the stark industrial look, Sweet Lola had an atmosphere with character.  With shelves of soaps, lotions, and candles for sale, the place reminded me of a drugstore with, instead of a soda jerk, a yogurt jerk.

And the yogurt was delicious.  Curious to see how lavender, dark & dreamy chocolate, Lola's lo'nilla, or blush taste like?  Well, you can taste before you buy.  The lavender tasted like...well, like lavender.  The chocolate was creamy and dark.  The lo'nilla was vanilla with a tinge of orange.  And the blush was cherries and almond.  All of the flavors tasted great, but I went with a mix of the chocolate and the blush.

You won't find Fruity Pebbles or Cinnamon Toast Crunch here.  Instead, you get sea-salted peanut butter croutons (housemade), organic orange pomegranate white chocolate, and organic French blueberry granola...along with the assortment of fruit, nut, and other standard fro-yo toppings.  Plus, you can taste before you buy the toppings, too.

All in all, Sweet Lola is more of a fro-yo experience than the other places.  It's the kind of place a grandma takes her young granddaughter to for some quality time and some delicious frozen yogurt.  And, in fact, that's whom I saw there when I went myself.

The BEST yogurt shop in Houston! I love their fun flavors and funky toppings. They make their own yogurt and always try to find the most unique but extremely yummy flavors. When in season, my favorite flavor is lavendar vanilla.

You MUST try this place! It's really worth checking out!

Not your average Swirl/Red Mango yogurt joint. Passed by it after burgers in Midtown. Inside is very living-room-esque and homey/cozy. Kind of feels like a Bath and Body Works or candle shop. Very different setting than your typical modern/idea-furnitured decor in yogurt joints.

The service is great! She gave us samples of each of their 4 flavors.  They don't have an original plain tart, which is my favorite. But they do have flavors that have a tart base. What I like about this place is how they strive to be different, making their own flavors with very fresh ingredients. Their yogurt is also certified Live and Active. Also everything is self-serve. It's about 58 cents an oz., so a little pricier than most.

Best thing about Sweet Lola's is their TOPPINGS. They're original, creative, and DELICIOUS. And they make most of it themselves! Especially their Peanut Butter Croutons.. I think I could just eat those without the yogurt.

Compared to other yogurt joints: yogurt-wise, can't really tell a difference. But their toppings, although not as much of a variety as red mango or swirl, are more original and creative. They have a much more personal/cozy ambience and really great service.

    Lovely, yummy frozen yogurt!

The two times I have been in here, the ladies behind the counter have been super-nice.  The store is cute, although maybe a little girly for me, but it's cute nonetheless.

I love how they let you sample the flavors so that you know exactly what you are getting without any fear that you might not like it. So far, I have gone with the chocolate/vanilla swirl because it is SO TASTY.
The topping are isn't huge, but it's filled with really tasty additions to the yogurt.  I would have liked to see some crumbled Oreo cookies on there, but I'm giving the benefit of the doubt that they have just been out when I've come by.

My recipe for success at Sweet Lola's?  Chocolate/Vanilla swirl with toppings of fresh-cut strawberries, chopped walnut pieces, toasted coconut flakes, and chocolate sprinkles.  Heaven in a yogurt cup!

The prices are pretty fair.  It isn't cheap, but it isn't crazy-expensive either.  You will end up spending about $5/person for the experience.

My favorite part is sitting at the tables out front, eating my yogurty-goodness and watching the hustle of the city.

In a word - amazing.  I've been twice and can't say enough good things about Sweet Lola.  Hands down the best vanilla (or as they call it O'Nilla) froyo I've ever had.  It has an orange flavor to it that is simply perfect with the richness of the Dark & Dreamy Chocolate froyo.  The Blush was also tasty and had a sherbety flavor.

The toppings they offer are top notch too.  Dark chocolate pomegranates are to die for as are is the lemon cookie crumble and Callebaut white chocolate chunks.  Both times I've gone it was late in the evening and they were out of the Sea Salted Peanut Butter Croutons so I will definitely have to go earlier some time to get a taste of those.

For those of you that are froyo junkies like me, there's a punch card so be sure to pick one up.

I'll just be over here day dreaming about froyo and counting the days until the Lavender is available ... drool.

Even the water in this place is cute. Seriously, it had strawberries floating in a glass water jug.

It's like a store of sunshine and rainbows with a pot of sugar at the end of the rainbow. The girl running the shop was really enthusiastic and offered to let us sample any of the toppings. The toppings are unheard of for a yogurt shop. They are truly artisan toppings. My last meal on earth could probably consist of the sea salt peanut butter crouton. The other toppings included dark chocolate acai, dark chocolate pomegranate, some coffee toffee chocolate dreamy thing and others I cant even do justice.

Yogurt is pricey and some it was too smelly for me. I have never felt the need to eat smells like lavender or cherry blossom, but the other yogurts were creamy and delicious.

I like the frenchy anthropologie vibe and the fact they sell soaps and candles even though they don't logically fall in line with frozen yogurt. This place is definitely delicious and a challenge to any man's manhood.

My friend and I began a night out when she texted me the challenge "I want to go to the trendiest ice cream place you can think of".  Sweet Lola isn't ice cream, but it's cold and smooth and located at one of the busiest intersections in ITL Houston.  After driving over, we were able to snag a parking space without much difficultly thanks to being in the right place at the right time, and off we went to experience the sweetness.

The decor is definitely trendy and very girly.  I'd call it "Anthropologie-chic" with underpinnings of "Suburban Mom."  Some of the candles and decorative bottles here are actually for sale, so if you see something that catches your eye, it can be yours for the right price.  We walked in around 7 or 8 on a Friday night and although we were initially the only ones inside, we were later joined by a few other couples.  The woman running the counter was really nice and gave us samples of each flavor (currently four) and explained the topping bar, giving us a detailed description of what each add-in was and its origins.  My favorites were the house-toasted coconut and peanut butter crumbles rolled in sea salt--"yum" does not begin to describe it.

At $5+ for my average-sized icy, creamy treat, Sweet Lola isn't going to be an everyday destination for satisfying your sweet tooth.  (There's a LolaLove punch card that gives you your tenth Lola treat free, which may help assuage your fears of going broke on yogurt consumption.)  But the slightly savory lavender yogurt that tickled my taste buds definitely has me intrigued, because the quality that you're paying for is definitely there, and it may yet persuade me to come over once again.
