I've been going to Kelly for over a year now and I can't believe I've only written a review now - SHE IS FANTASTIC!
I go for a brazilian and eyebrow wax and it's wonderful! I've been waxed in various other beauty salons around the world and no one compares! Not only is Kelly a wonderfully kind and sweet person but her professionalism is second to none. The procedure(s) are clean, hygenic, safe and quick, not to mention relatively painfree (hey, we're talking pulling hair out - it's going to hurt a little!) And the cost is remarkable - I feel like I really should be paying more.
And despite the fact that sometimes I can't get an appointment when I'd like, I put that down to how busy she is = how great she is!!!
Would totally TOTALLY recommend this place!!!! -

Maria is the greatest! Super sweet and down to earth. I come to her for waxing and she is always very thorough.
I love coming to Sweet Dreams because the location is great and parking is a breeze.
Highly recommended for your beauty maintenance needs! -

Why in the world did I not find this place sooner? I had a great experience here getting my deep bikini wax! And the price was great! $35 for a deep bikini? I have paid close to $50 + tip elsewhere!!
Kelly was a doll! She had a lovely personality and took an interest in her clients! She made great conversation and by the time I knew it, it was over!!! Just how I like it! :o)
Parking was free on top or underneath the building (same as Along Wong's), as well as street parking. -

Maria is my new best friend.
Located in the Alan Wong building, Sweet Dreams is a cute little place with 2 tables I believe. Parking is free inside the building and their hours are great. I was a little apprehensive at first because their prices are on the cheaper side and I was afraid that I was compromising quality for price. But Fear Not....because you get an AMAZING facial for an AMAZINGLY low price here!!!
First time I came here I got the back and facial deluxe. It's a 2 hour package that completely relaxes and cleanses you. I was soooo happy with it that I immediately rebooked for my next facial at the end of my service.
I really like Maria because she's not afraid to go to battle with your face. Extractions aren't pleasant for anyone, but why get a facial if you're gonna leave all that gunk in your pores right? Maria really goes for it and I've teared a couple of times on her table, but left everytime with a smoother and cleaner face.
Do it and you'll definitely see a difference. And with prices this reasonable, you should pamper yourself...you deserve it! That's what I always tell myself :)Listed in: It's not easy being beautiful

This update is going to be short and sweet and to the point, because clearly 5 stars in two reviews essentially tells you all you need to know.
When you're lying there, in one of the most compromising positions of your life, I cannot stress enough how much of an amazing person Kelly is. She makes you forget whatever shame you probably should be embodying and lets you get gutsy enough to just be like "Hey, whatever, it's all good--I don't care how much this is going to hurt." Then suddenly it happens and you think "Crap, what was I thinking, this is torture." But quite worth it in the more than capable hands of Kelly. From getting my latest entertainment news to restaurant advice, Kelly is a one woman show and if you're thinking about whether or not to go to another place you're clearly a fool with selective hearing who hasn't been listening to the rave reviews.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Best waxing experience ever! I got my eyebrows done here by Kelly.
I walked in and she welcomed me so nicely. She asked me what I wanted to do and took the time to explain. I could tell she really cares and makes every effort to make sure her customers are happy.
It was the first eyebrow waxing session which the person was so dilligent and took her time. She did a great job on reshaping them. The best of the whole experience was that I didn't break out. I always break out after getting my eyebrows waxed. She cleaned out the area after and put sunskin on.
I appreciated the professionalism, friendly service, and cleanliness of the place. Spas like Don Marcos need to learn from this place. I'm coming back for sure! Thanks Kelly. -

Sweet Dreams Skincare is a real gem. I first went there for a facial when I was engaged because I wanted to improve my skin before my wedding. There weren't many reviews on Yelp at the time but they were good, and their prices were reasonable compared to other spas so I decided to try it. That was over a year ago and I still see Kelly for facials. Granted, I can't afford to go often but their prices are fair enough that I don't feel bad treating myself every few months...before this, I allowed myself facials maybe once a year at best (and my skin suffered for it)!
Yes, the place is small but the ambiance is still peaceful, clean, and professional feeling. I definitely prefer the smaller space to paying higher prices to cover more rent! And Kelly is great and always makes you feel comfortable. -

Kelly is as good as it gets!! I've been going to Sweet Dreams for almost over 3 years, every other month for either waxing or facials.
Kelly not only does an awesome job, she is always friendly and fun to talk with! She is ultra-professional and has always made me feel super comfortable (not an easy thing to say about your waxer! haha!)
The office has 3 rooms, including a comfortable nook/waiting room (though I doubt you'll ever have to wait, as she is always on time!), one room for Maria and 1 for Kelly. There is also some skin care supplies in the main lobby area to purchase.
I love the convenient location (above Alan Wong's Restaurant) on S. King Street, with the free parking downstairs (just make sure you sign in at the log book).
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for all your skin care needs! -

After my move to Hawaii over a year ago I had to search for a new waxist... Being as picky as I am .. I was a bit discouraged at first, until my friend referred me to Maria.. Thank you Baby Jesus!!
Maria is SUPER awesome!! It's always weird going to a new waxist but Maria is so friendly and warm I felt like I've been going there for YEARS...

Did you ever go to a salon to get your brows waxed and they stick you on a shampoo chair and wax you in front of everyone? I had that done to me at so many different salons! At Sweet Dreams, you feel like you just walked into a peaceful, serene spa. Although it occupies a tiny space, it's by appointment only so you shouldn't ever have to see a cluster of people in there at any given time.
I went to go see Kelly and she was awesome. She lay me down on a comfortable cot and there was some tranquil music playing. I was so relaxed I almost fell asleep! The wax wasn't too hot (like at some other places) and it was painless. She did it so quickly and I was amazed with the outcome.

I found Sweet Dreams through reading reviews on Yelp! How helpful! I think this was like the third or the fourth one down. I checked the reviews, checked the websites, and checked the pricing. The one that got me to actually book an appointment was Sweet Dreams.
I don't know why though. It just seemed good.
I booked online and even on such a short notice, Kelly was able to book me in and oh, my, she was really nice! And fun to talk to! The salon was in the Alan Wong's building and it's free parking as long as you sign in at the elevator. Her salon is in one of the rooms in the building, and although not so big or anything, she had it maintained very well. There was a small pond-like water feature and nice lighting, with a touch of aroma. You would forget that it's King St right out side!
Kelly and I talked most of the time and we found out that my pole fitness instructor was Kelly's long-time friend! I guess that's not rare living on an island, but that sure made me feel good about Kelly!
All services require appointments, so that's nice to have when I need to juggle several to-do's in one day! -

First off, I've been religiously getting my wax done for nearly 10+ years now.
I'm pretty impressed with Maria, because she lived true to her reviews.
She's cool, personable and makes you feel comfortable at her studio. It's not a huge place, but she keeps it well maintained and has a nice vibe/ decor without any clutter.
My experience was totally different than what I've experienced ever before in other studios. I noticed that she used a different type of wax that did not require any wax cloth. The wax simply settled on my skin and she rips it off from there. The gentle touch/pat right after the pull makes a difference =) Thank you Maria for that... Usually only really experienced aesthetician do little things like that.
I did tell Maria the temperature of the wax was a tad too high, but I'm just glad that I did not have any bad results from that.
I would say the price is decent to good compared to all the websites that I've checked out. It's crazy expensive to live here, so I can't compare it to L.A. prices. It won't be fair, because for the same service I would have paid $15 less in L.A.
And of course, I will be back for my normal maintenance treatments. -

I really love this little salon - and this is the first review.... perhaps I shouldn't share my little secret? :-)
Maria and Kelly are great aestheticians and make you feel so relaxed and comfortable. This is a great place to get your waxing and facials.
The ambiance of the salon is quiet, clean and relaxing and you feel so pampered while you are there.
Maria is the one I normally see. For waxing she is fast and very good. Makes you feel very much at ease. The facials are so wonderful - I wish I could afford to get them weekly.

Kelly is the best!!! I am from California and every year I visit Sweet Dreams for waxing and facials. It can't get better than Kelly!! I wish she had a spa in California!
I've been to many spas around California but no one is better than Kelly. Also, you can't beat the price!! Not only she does a great job but she is so friendly. She pays attention to detail and really makes an effort to make sure her customers are happy!!
I been using her products for about 4 months now and it is amazing! I seen such an improvement it is so hard for me to explain! I highly recommend Sweet Dreams for all your Spa needs! -

I really enjoy my facials by Kelly. She uses the best products, her spa/ office is nicely decorated, soothing music, the facial service includes an excellent shoulder/upper back/neck massage,and she gives very good facials (not to sound lewd). Just had my first facial of the new year and it was a very good experience...as usual. She's super nice and her prices are very reasonable.

Had eyebrow waxing and deluxe facial done here and loved it. Its reasonably priced and in a small quaint building. Thanks to my sister who recommended this place to me! I've seen both Kelly and Maria and had my mom come here for her first facial.

I'm very picky about my brows. I had one esthetician for a few years but she moved. Since then, I've been looking for a suitable replacement. Kelly was AWESOME! She's experinced and relaxed. I didn't feel like she was going shape my brows to her liking, but rather she shaped them to what is right for my face. I also enjoyed the fact that she took the time to explain to me the angles of my brows. I'm going to visit Sweet Dream again. I've also told my sister and friend to visit Kelly too.

I have been seeing Maria for my waxes even before she came to Sweet Dreams, so about 4-ish years. I adore Maria. She's gentle, efficient, personable, funny, and puts you at ease. The salon is very small, clean, and relaxing. I recommend the salon to anyone I can; these ladies know what they're doing!

As a veteran to waxing treatments (20+ years having eyebrows, lip, chin, legs, underarms, and Brazilian waxing done), Maria is by far the best aesthetician I've ever been to since relocating to Oahu last March. She is very professional, yet personable. She makes you feel comfortable during the procedure and is fast! I have everything done in an hour and I'm on my way. She knows which type of wax to use (hard or soft), depending up on the type of hair being removed and is gentle, too (I don't fly off the table during my Brazilian waxing anymore). My favorite part about Sweet Dreams Skin Care is the cost. As you know, it is stupidly expensive to live in Hawaii, but the Sweet Dreams ladies keep the cost affordable, so that I can get my waxing treatments on a regular basis without having to take out a second mortgage. I actually tried someone closer to my home on the North Shore and although she was good (not as good as Maria, though), her cost was more than double what Maria charges. I highly recommend Maria and, after learning my lesson the expensive way, I will not use anyone else.
