Really good Pad Thai (it's what I always have at a Thai place). I'm always a little gun shy when I try a new Thai restaurant. What does this chef consider "hot" and what is "medium". So I asked the waiter for "medium to hot" and what I got was closer to "mild". Now, don't get me wrong. It was really yummy. The chicken was perfectly cooked, the noodles were just the right al dente and the sauce was yummy. But it just didn't have enough heat to it. It was a good sized portion and they were fine to wrap up the leftovers.

When I arrived on a Friday night, the place was packed. I had a seat at the bar, which was fine and there were enough staff passing through and making drinks that I received an appropriate amount of attention.

This place will cure your Thai craving.

D and I got spring rolls, chicken pad thai, and shrimp fried rice as take out the last time we were here. It was ready in less than 15 minutes!

The spring rolls were crispy and piping hot, even by the time we got home!

The pad thai was ridiculously good! It came with mixed vegetables and the portion was much larger than we were expecting. It was spicy (as per our request) and full of flavor. Mmmm.

The only complaint that I have about our meal was that the shrimp in the fried rice was not tender at all. Slightly hard to chew. Also, it had the tail on. Besides these minor details, we truly loved every aspect of our meal.

Can't wait to eat here again!

Consistently excellent Thai, and I've eaten here many times.

The Sweet Basil Rolls and Fried Tofu appetizers are standouts. I'm a sucker for the Pad Kee-Mao and Spicy Basil entrees (very similar dishes; the latter lacks noodles) at a 3 out of 4 spiciness (default being 2). Their curries have a lot of depth and the Pad Thai is solid. Ingredients are always fresh, noodles are never stuck together, and the spice level is great (for me) after bumping the default one notch.

Prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food. Presentation is appropriately no-nonsense (the food is the focus) and portions are normal; neither stingy nor excessive. Atmosphere is cozy with nice low lighting and rattan chairs, and the service is excellent. I haven't found a better Thai place in Greenville, and have no desire to look for one!

As some of my other reviews indicate, I'm a bit particular about my Thai food. Thanks to Yelp, I was able to find a good place while in town for the weekend!

I got into Greenville kinda late so by the time I got to Sweet Basil, it was within 30 minutes of their closing on a Friday night and it was kinda dead inside. There had been a group of people by the bar area but they left shortly after I got there.

Anyhow, service was prompt - water was filled often. The servers came from a variety of ethnicities which honestly threw me off a bit since all of the Thai places I'm used to (from CA) are 100% Thai... but again, I'm glad I listed to all the good Yelp reviews!  I ordered a cup of Tom Yum Kai which was very flavorful and extremely delicious! Perfect amount of spice (which for me means that my nose is running the whole time/I need frequent sips of water). I don't remember the exact name of the dish I ordered.. I think it was something simple like Spicy Basil - which I ordered with chicken. Again, very flavorful and perfectly spiced.

This is the only Thai place I've been to in Greenville so I'm not sure how the others compare.. but I definitely recommend this place if you're looking for some delicious Thai food in the area.

My boss took our group to this restaurant.  Typically, Thai food is pretty spicy however the spice level could be decreased.

I asked our waitress how hot is their spicy.  Her response was I don't know because I can't tell anymore.  Hmmm, that should have been a red flag!!!!

So, what did I do, I ordered the mussamun chicken curry (spicy).

OMG, it was spicy has hell.  I was on fire the entire time.  But I must say it was delicious.  Having a Thai iced tea helped cool things down.

Would I do it again, of course.  I am a glutton for punishment!!!

Aside from the food, the service was good.  The decor is cool.  Love the waterfall wall as you enter the restaurant.  Lastly, on the TV they showed a chef doing his thing with fruit and veggies (cool carvings).  That caught our attention the entire time we were there.

I was happily surprised I found a great Thai restaurant in Greenville!  Despite its location in a strip-mall, the inside is cozy, intimidate, yet perfect for friends to catch up over dinner.  The servers and owners/managers (?) were extremely friendly and attentive.

Prices were slightly higher than the place I go to on Augusta road, but the food was extremely flavorful and the portions were decent.

We ordered the Chicken Pad Thai ($10.95) and Beef with Pepper and Garlic ($12.95).  We were pretty hungry and unfortunately didn't have any leftovers.  We didn't ordered any appetizers, though next time we will so we can enjoy the leftovers.  The Spring Rolls ($4.95) and House Salad ($4.50) looked great.

Good food, chic-yet-cozy ambiance, just-OK wine list and a friendly staff tucked away in an unassuming strip mall.

We started with the springs rolls (pretty good), and I ordered the red curry with chicken for my entree.  I ordered medium-spicy and it arrived a little hotter than I anticipated - but I love spicy, so no complaints.  The red curry was warm and creamy and loaded with eggplant, potatoes, corn and onion.  It was a generous portion that was enough to share.  But I didn't. ;)

One thing that disappointed was the wine selection.  The first two reds I ordered, the restaurant no longer carries...yet they were still listed as two of the five reds on the wine list.  In lieu of a third attempt, I let the server bring me his recommended syrah.  Meh.

Overall, a nice dinner, and I will return - but I will continue the search for my favorite Thai spot in Greenville.

Stumbled upon this whilst on a biz trip to Greenville.  It's in an unglamorous strip mall but the inside has a nice ambience with wooden screens and rattan chairs.

Food is very good.  Good for clients.  Not good for drunken frat parties.  Which is a plus, in my book.

Based on my last visit the word is getting out about this place.  A lunch line is beginning to form and I see many of the same faces visit after visit.   The food is excellent.  I don't care for the atmosphere.  It is located in a small strip small space.  Seating is limited.  It is clean and well cared for.  The staff is very friendly and the prices are reasonable.  My favorite is the Cashew Nut medium hot.  I find myself regretting that the experience is over on those last few bites.  Many of my friends prefer the Pad Thai or the Massaman Curry.  I expect, based on the recent increase in business, that they will be relocating.  Definately worth a try.

Definitely my favorite Thai restaurant in Greenville.  When you hear Thai food, you expect spicy, and the food was definitely spicy.  I usually order the Chicken or Shrimp Pad Thai, but have tried their curries and everything is fantastic.  Be sure to order a Thai Iced Tea with your meal to cool your mouth down.

Sweet basil is a great little Thai restaurant.

I highly recommend lunch, as they have specials that aren't too pricey and generous portions. Parking is a bear sometimes around lunch, as there are several good restaraunts in the same strip.

Their spring rolls are a favorite, as well as the Spicy Basil Chicken.

i go to the location on haywood road. the waitstaff is always very friendly. and the kitchen staff seems to care what the customers think. i ordered the pad thai extra-hot expecting the cook to hold back as many places often do. he didn't and came out with a big grin to see how i was holding up. the experience was great.
