I've been to Swan River a few times in the past several years.  Most recently, I came with a group of friends.  The view is stunning, our waitress was friendly and nice, and the food was delicious.  My 1 1/4 pound lobster for 16 bucks was totally worth the price especially since it included a salad, a twice baked potato and bread.  The mojito I had on the side was one of the better ones I've had in a while.

My friends and I meandered over to the attached bar area after dinner.  There was no one else there and family karaoke was going on in the other room, which was entertaining.  After that cleared out, it was dead.  Even though no one was there, the bar service was pretty slow, but that's ok.

Overall, a cool place to go for dinner.  Not so much for drinks though.

We had a great dinner at the Swan River Restaurant this past Tuesday night.
The digs aren't swanky -- a little rundown actually. We were too hungry to care really.
The food was good, priced well, and we left happy. I had Sesame Encrusted Tuna (cooked to med. rare as specified) w/ a very tasty lemon teriyaki sauce. The accompanying mushrooms, onions, tomatoes, scallions and baby spinach were excellent. The side of rice pilaf was standard but served hot -- so it was good in my book.
Husband had stuffed shrimp -- 4 extra large shrimp w/ moist seafood stuffing( big pieces of identifiable seafood at that), fresh ear of corn, and salad.

Our server was attentive and paced our meal well. I can't remember her name (sorry!) but we will definitely be back next vacation season.

WTF!! No, No, No. I'm sorry, I really do not want to give such a bad review of a restaurant, that it could take customers away, but seriously this place needs to be overhauled! I have never had a worse preparation of seafood in my life. Such lack of respect for the product! One of the five dishes that we ordered was considered edible. (Hence the Rating) Two of our diners ordered broiled seafood dinners that could have come out of a microwave. There was no coloring from the broiler on the food, they were sitting in broth (weird for being broiled, usual its some sort of fat), and then covered in some sort of garlic powder/bread crumb mixture. I had the blackened bluefish, if you want to call it that. Any regular to the Cape knows that blue fish is pretty much the most abundant fish in the area. You would expect that the portion of fish would be substantial. Nope. The fillets looked like they came off a flounder. Never mind the seasoning (see the rating). I can't even finish this review. Go somewhere else.

Unfortunately I wasn't in a big seafood mood the afternoon we ate here, but my tuna fish sandwich was solid. And everyone else in my party loved their food, from a seafood platter to the lobster. I also enjoyed the lobster bisque, although I was sad to find it didn't have any real lobster bits in it.

The back deck has ample seating and a beautiful view, and the service was helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend eating here, and I'm looking forward to going again sometime when I can dig into a signature dish.

Be careful of this restaurant.  I got a 2 pound lobster there last week and it was the worst lobster I have ever had.  It was a special, $29.95 and it was like rubber.  I swear it was cooked and then reheated.  The waiter was very old and I know how hard being a server is so I didn't want to complain.  So we tipped him good and paid the bill and left, very unhappy.  I can't stop thinking about how awful the food was.

I was down this past weekend with two friends and we ended up coming to the Swan River for dinner.  I've been coming here on and off for years, and have had both positive and not so positive experiences.  Unfortunately, this time took the cake.

Our waiter was a young high school boy named max who brought out the wrong meal, forgot salads, didn't adjust the bill for the lesser price meal actually brought out, and then replied in a nasty tone "what do you want me to do about it" when this was brought to his attention.  We were told no manager was on duty.

When the bill was finally adjusted (and only for the dinner, nothing was comp'ed) he literally threw it on the table and said- here you go.  Then, as we were counting bills (aka tip time) suddenly he reappeared in slightly better spirits- that is until I told him to leave.

The table next to us and actually diagonally across from us had similiar problems, and a conversation started based on this, it seemed as though almost everyone in the restaurant was fed up.

The next day one of my friends called the manager, who was very kind, but it seemed (at least to me) that there were too many excuses.  She asked us to please come back and ask for her but in all honesty the whole experience was a giant  turn off.  If you go here the food is alright, the view is nice, but something has to be done about the wait staff

Have bben there twice.  First time was reasonably adequate food and OK service.   Second time was a disaster.  The Waiter was good, personable and aopolgetic for the meal, however the management was not.   The meal was terrible start to finish.  The chowder was too hot and separated, the meal itself was way WAY over cooked, and the salad was warm and not chilled.
