I know this may sound crazy to people from some parts of Milwaukee, but I have trouble finding a cafe that I enjoy sitting in that offers free wifi. I love Anodyne on KK, but I don't want to pay to use their internet. I love Alterra coffee, but the Foundry location has cruddy service (sometimes) and also charges for internet use.

It's too nice day to be indoors, but I'm loving the earthy, cozy ambience of Sven's right now. Great coffee, friendly service, eclectic decor and a convenient location. Reminiscent of one of my favorite coffee houses from my days as a student in Madison. I'll be back for sure.

When a chill hangs in the air, nothing sounds better than seeking refuge in a cozy cafe and sipping a steaming cup of coffee. That experience is made all the better at Sven's European Cafe, where an old Milwaukee, hippie sensibility (mismatched furniture, fliers on the wall) meets thoroughly modern needs (computers with Internet access). Rustic light fixtures hanging from high ceilings cast a soft light over the original artwork and vintage movie posters that adorn the warm-colored walls. The welcoming den-like feel of this Kinnickinnic Avenue hangout begs you to escape from life's daily stresses: order a drink from the espresso bar, indulge in one of its many delicious desserts, breathe in, breathe out, relax.

Just love the place; the decor is so cozy & inviting & warm; the sandwiches are good, they make some excellent really hearty vegetarian & non vegetarian soups. Yum & the desserts & coffee drinks & regular drink--great!!! Need I go on?  My hubby & I walk  there  in nicer weather & drive there in cruddier weather.  I also buy ground coffee.

Good array of sandwiches but I wish they would offer a plan roast beef/ cheddar sandwich or build your own (I tried a tuna melt which was alright). Cool homey European interior and yummy cakes with butter cream frosting.
